We have had August 25th circled on our calendar as, we have been anxiously awaiting the debut studio album “DIY” from Lucky Thief and believe us when we tell you , it was well worth the wait.

Crafted over the course of three intense years, DIY, recorded at Humm Studios with Dom Mitchison (Heavy Lungs, The Manatees, Pet Shimmers), mixed by Ky Witney (The Naturals) and mastered by Pete Maher (Pixies, Jack White, The Rolling Stones), is the result of his ambition to produce an authentic album that reflects himself and what he believes in. He explores his own mental health struggles, relationships, substance abuse, and the impact of his religious upbringing throughout the album.
“DIY” is an absolute treat , Ed Jefferson has crafted an absolute gem.
“DIY” opens with the sonically pleasing track “Landlubber” , the track sets the perfect tone for a collection of outstanding songs.
“DIY” is filled with absolutely infectious grooves, one of our favorite’s is “Equator “
“Silencer” is an absolutely blazing track . We found ourselves singing along to this one well after the music stopped.

We try to always pick a favorite track when we do an album review however, with “DIY” we actually have two …. The first one is “Filthy” We can say with absolute certainty that, “Filthy” is one of the best songs we have heard all year ( So Far) “Filthy “ is a brilliantly crafted track that just flat out rocks .
The other track that we couldn’t get enough of is “Menace” sonically and melodically pleasing. We might have scared a few people grooving to this on the highway but , it was well worth it
“DIY” from Lucky Thief is what a great rock record sounds like, Do yourself a favor and check it out – you won’t regret it .
