We recently had the opportunity to check out the blazing debut single “Let it Loose” from Liverpool duo THE WOOD, made up of vocalist ALEX EVANS and producer / multi-instrumentalist STEVE POWELL. The debut single “Let it Loose” from The Wood is literally one of the coolest tunes we have heard in quite some time. “Let it Loose” has this cool retro vibe that is off the charts .

When asked about “Let it Loose” the duo commented “Let It Loose’ is a song about not giving in. The everyday pressures of situations, relationships, ambitions, life’s occasional curveballs, and eventual optimism and hope.” 

With rock solid grooves, they create melodies full of beauty, passion, pain and the power of real soul. Filmed in Liverpool, the surreal DYLAN COX-produced video features boxer Jake Harrison, along with a host of other shady characters.

As a producer and owner of Ark Recording Studios, Steve Powell is an expert at unearthing sonic magic, having worked with many notable artists, including Michael Head and The Strands, John Power, def.fo, The Stairs,Ella Guru and Michael Head and the Red Elastic Band. This debut album also features contributions by several other artists, including Jake Howden-Woodward (NOVA TWINS) on drums and Martin Smith and Simon James (THE CORAL, SHACK) on brass
