We recently had the beyond amazing opportunity to check out the stunning new LP “Let Me Be” from twin cities, Mn based indie rock band Mayfly Moon. You can listen to “Let Me Be” on Spotify Here, Apple Music, Here
As we heard the opening chord on “Things To Say” from Mayfly Moon, we knew we were in for an absolute indie rock treat .
The style and vibe of Mayfly Moon is both familiar and refreshing all at the same time . The band (guitarists, Nick Larson and Jake Wilcox and brothers Charlie Lindstrom on bass and vocals and Simon Lindstrom on drums ) are a well oiled music making machine who display next level musicianship.
In addition to being a band of skilled musicians, Charlie Lindstrom, brings it all together with a spectacular vocal performance throughout the LP.
We love it when we go to put on a record and you can let it play till the end without skipping a single song, this is most definitely the case with “Let Me Be “
Mayfly Moon, also does a stellar job of combining so many different musical influences , throughout the album. One stand out is “Slacker” which is a well written indie rock gem that we couldn’t get out of our head we were singing it long after the music faded .
The mesmerizing intro to “Starla At Night” really caught our attention, the melody is absolutely intoxicating.
When we do a review, we typically like to pick one song as our favorite. However , “Let Me Be” has so many amazing melodic gems that it is almost impossible to pick a favorite… But we think the one that really stood out to us was “Let Me Wonder “ The track has this really cool 60’s garage / surf rock vibe that we absolutely love .
If you are looking for new amazing music to fill your music loving soul , then look no further than Mayfly Moon and their amazingly brilliant new LP “Let Me Be”
