Matty Reynolds Shines Bright With New Single “Timbuktu”

We recently had the fantastic opportunity to check out the new single, “Timbuktu” , from New York, based singer-songwriter and TIkTok influencer Matty Reynolds. You can listen to “Timbuktu” Here

Born and raised as the youngest of four kids in a small suburb just outside of New York City, Matty Reynolds has always had a knack for performing. He remembers jumping on his bed singing “Shut Up and Let Me Go” by The Ting Tings at just five years old, and peeking his head out of his bedroom late at night to watch Justin Bieber busking over his big sister’s shoulder. Matty grew up on this big sister’s pop music taste with artists like Katy Perry, Maroon 5, and , and developed his love for music through singing duets with her. When he was 10, he was gifted a keyboard and a guitar, and began teaching himself how to play both. 

We were immediately enthralled with the vibrant sound and energy of “Timbuktu”, from Matty Reynolds , it is one of those songs that effortlessly finds it way into your music loving heart , and before you know it , you can’t help but sing-along

The new track is a hopeful single about how love paramounts the struggle of distance. He shares, “The reason it means so much to me is because it was written so quickly in the heat of my emotions, without any overthought. I was driving to see my long distance girlfriend and the verses naturally came to me, exactly as you hear them today, perfectly describing what it feels like to be so far apart yet always knowing I’ll make that drive a million times over to make it back to her.”

“Timbuktu” is the first single off of Matty Reynolds , forthcoming EP Somebody Like Me set for release this summer. The artist teamed up with acclaimed producer Jackson Hoffman and Andy Tongren of Young Rising Sons fame
