We recently had the opportunity to check out the new single, “Everyday Dangers”, from Adam Sherman Band. You can listen to “Everyday Dangers” on Spotify Here and Apple Music Here

Great storyteller/ songwriters artfully take everyday disturbances and shed a much needed light on them through music. Boston music mainstay Adam Sherman and the Adam Sherman Band , do this brilliantly with the rousing new Americana/ Rock And Roll, single , “Everyday Dangers”

I guess I’m always hoping for a bit of good news, but lately every day seems to present a new, dire development,” says Sherman. “The song is about trying to maintain our power and integrity during difficult times. It made me realize how much we depend on the decency of others and how vulnerable we are to those who choose not to respect the value of life. As a songwriter, I tried to create a universal story that would convey the fragility of our society at this time.”

The veteran Boston vocalist and guitarist has been crafting a sense of comfort and longing in his music throughout a career that spans decades, from his early work with power-pop luminaries Private Lightning, then with rock and roll yearners The Souls, and now lately through his solo material and output with his band, with which he performs every third Sunday of the month at an ongoing residency at The Plough & Stars in Cambridge. A six-time nominee in the Boston Music Awards, Sherman was just nominated for Performer of the Year in the 2025 New England Music Awards.

And the encompassing “Everyday Dangers,” with its weary soul, magnetic allure, and potent lead guitar, which grabs hold of the listener and takes them along for a sonic joyride that belies the track’s thematic intensity, should keep attention in Sherman’s creative direction.

“Everyday Dangers” feels like a melodic moral compass that feels important and needed .

The follow-up to this past March’s critical lauded Nowhere But Here EP, which earned praise in WBUR, Boston’s NPR, as well as Twangville, Americana UK, and elsewhere, “Everyday Dangers” arrives just ahead of a pair of notable live appearances.

The first comes the day after the new single’s release when Sherman performs at the Earfull Series at The Regattabar in Cambridge on Wednesday, October 29. A night of storytelling from songwriters and authors, the evening also welcomes best-selling novelists Tom Perrotta and Alice Hoffman, as well as indie-folk duo Highway Hoserie.

“I’m honored and very excited to be part of the Earfull Series,” he notes. “Writers read their work and songwriters sing their songs to a respectful, tuned-in audience there to listen. Performing for a listening audience is one of the most satisfying experiences for me as a musician. Lyrics and musical nuance become the center of attention.”

The next comes in January, when he appears at the Which Side?: A Protest Music Teach-Out, a collaborative showcase of varied voices and talents inspired by James Sullivan’s book, Which Side Are You On?: 20th Century American History in 100 Protest Songs, with the event hosted and organized by the respected Boston Globe journalist.

Both events are prime showcases for the messages Sherman is preaching, especially the one that comes to the forefront in “Everyday Dangers,” the first taste of a new album set for release sometime in 2026.

You owe it to your music loving soul to check out “Everyday Dangers” from the Adam Sherman Band.
