We are absolutely taken with the powerful new single, “Machine” from JVK . We love the new wave feel of the track and have already put the track on permanent repeat, as we wait for the debut album, “Pop Culture Affair” on March 20th
Machine” fuses anti-capitalist commentary and existential urgency with pulsing synth-pop dance beats and razor-edged hard rock guitars. The track captures the band’s signature tension — glossy and gritty, theatrical yet unfiltered — offering a bold preview of what’s to come on Pop Culture Affair.
Bursting out of the Boston DIY scene, JVK have built a reputation for chaotic, high-voltage live shows and empowering lyricism layered over intricate, genre-blurring arrangements. Frontwoman Jo Krieger founded the project in 2022 as a hard rock act playing basements, dive bars, and nightclubs across New England. Now backed by Atticus Crowley, Kay Kwiatek, Liv Barcohana, and Zach Feinstein, the band has evolved into a fully realized retro-glam-synth rock force. In just a few years, JVK have played Louder Than Life (2023) and Boston Calling (2024), made multiple radio and TV appearances, completed four nationwide tours, and earned six cumulative nominations across the Boston and New England Music Awards
So rev up your favorite music listening machine, and check out “Machine” , from JVK.
