Listening to anything by Corin Ashley, is always a pleasant listening experience and “Head Full Of Holly, is no exception.

The latest single, “Head Full Of Holy “ is taken from Corin Ashley’s latest EP, “EP #1” which you can listen to “EP #1” Here

Head Full of Holly” once again showcases Ashley’s musicianship, as he takes on all of the instrumentation with the exception of the drums which are provided by the talented Matt Burwell.  Continuing with the timeless songwriter tradition of songs that have a girl’s name in the chorus, Corin adds to his back catalog from both his solo career (“Marianne”, “Geez Louise”) and with his seminal 90’s band, the Pills (“Pop Goes Mandy”, “Something About Nicola”).  As Corin states:

Head Full of Holly” was created just out of the excitement of the backwards bass part – and the thought that I never write a chorus that just repeats a phrase four times. It’s the most basic songwriting trope (and I never do that, so I did). As it started to head in an 80s direction, I roped in my longtime pal, Roger [Lavallee], who is an absolute 80s expert, and we got very enthusiastic about it. I’m a huge sucker for enthusiasm; the second somebody gets psyched to do something, I want to be part of it!”

There is authenticity that flows through “Head Full Of Holly” that really pulled at our music loving heart and soul. Corin Ashley, undoubtedly proves on “Head Full Holly “ that great songwriting with great lyrics and great melodies, win every time – Bravo
