Every song on The Northern Line’s debut EP, is packed with an electrifying sound that can be felt on both sides of the Atlantic. The Northern Line ( named after the underground English transit route) take the joy and vibe of Brit-pop alternative and give it a seismic sized jolt , and it is freaking brilliant.
Releasing new music always carries a special kind of electricity,” says Northern Linefrontman and lyricistBilvox. “Even for some legendary bands, putting out a new record is a statement of purpose: A reminder of who they are right now, and a signal that they still have something urgent to say. That feeling is amplified when it’s your first EP release. Musically, this record is a cross-section of what you experience when you see us live: You dance, you move, you feel the lift – and you want to throw your hands in the air.”

The Northern Line’s message to the world comes alive in the music, with Bilvox (vocals and rhythm guitar) rounded out by an assembled collection of American Anglophiles in Pete Kitchener (lead guitar), Joshh Magee (bass), McG (drums, percussion, and backing vocals), and Mike Ackley, the co-founding keyboard player who has since relocated back to England, with new recruit Carrie Ingber holding down his spot.
The opening track, “Lightning Strikes” , is a melodic punch of adrenaline that feels endless and explosive.

“Let’s Roll On “ is a song that will instantly inspire and consume your music loving heart . We feel like the cinematic appeal of “Let’s Roll On” , would lend itself perfectly to the silver screen.

The title of the new record, is taken directly from scooter culture parlance that inspires the band’s ethos, style, and sound, The Rideout features seven hyperactive tracks, compiling three 2025 singles (“Kindawanna,” “Never Come Down,” and “Rally ‘Round”) with flashy new anthemic belter “Ride” and three new tracks in “Outta My Head,” “I Can’t Help It,” and “In Real Life.”
In one sense, The Rideout is classic Chelsea Curve, with the trusted trio of Linda Pardee (bass, vocals, keys), Tim Gillis (guitars, vocals, keys), and recent recruit Bruce Caporal (drums and percussion) delivering the next aural wave where British indie and mod culture intertwine with stateside power-pop, punk, and college rock for a hyper-infectious and melodic embrace. But it also explores some new sonic territory, with a more layered and textured sound without losing any of the grit and spunk that first lit their spark a few years back.
“We’re putting the ‘power’ in the ‘pop’ with this one,” says Gillis. “All these songs together in one place are pretty relentless. We’re really happy with the combination of punch and polish.
Some bands tend to be reserve and held back… However, not The Chelsea Curve , they prove it’s ok to live life , take chances and totally rock out.
Produced by The Chelsea Curve, The Rideout was recorded and mixed by Mike Quinn at a trio of Eastern Massachusetts hotspots in Allston’s Mad Oak Studios; Bluetone Studio in Somerville; and Boston’s The Record Company. It was mastered by Dave Locke / JP Masters in Seattle, Washington.
This record is about living for the moment, being with your people and just enjoying life,” says Pardee. “Yeah, kind of corny, but life’s way too short to be precious.”
So drive fast , take chances and check out The Chelsea Cure and their new album. ‘The Rideout”
We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the glorious new single, “Rally Round”, from Boston mod-pop trio, The Chelsea Curve. You can listen to “Rally Round” Here
The Chelsea Curve, deliver yet another soon to be iconic track with their new simply irresistible single, “Rally Round”

Applying a sense of communal awareness with the motivation of hope and a message of coexistence and solidarity, The Chelsea Curve invite us all to “Rally ‘Round” those around us, and hold close the ones we hold dear.
With a sugary-sweet embrace and a shimmering sound that connects a ‘60s folk-pop ethos with a college rock, jangle-pop, and C86 glide, and not to mention a bit of a melodic call-back to Boston’s mid-’90s indie scene, “Rally ‘Round” is the latest in a string of singles for The Chelsea Curve. It follows a pair of sonic firecrackers over the summer in restless powderkeg bop “Kindawanna” and the anthemic, Britpop-inspired “Never Come Down.”
Interestingly enough, the trio — bassist and vocalist Linda Pardee, guitarist and vocalist Tim Gillis, and drummer Bruce Caporal – admit this new indie cruiser has taken on a bit of a different vibe, thematically, since it was first penned back in 2023. And that’s due to the world around us.
“This song has morphed into a different meaning than what was originally intended when written,” admits Pardee. “The lyrics were initially about friendships, acquaintances, people coming into your life. Being part of a community. Finding your people. Despite differences, we can or should be able to at least co-exist.”
She adds: “I realized that, since writing the lyrics, they may come across a little differently now given the current social climate, and that’s okay. It’s hard to be an optimist sometimes, but when I sing ‘We’re all on the same side’, I am thinking – at the very least, we are all humans. But it’s not always easy to sing it, because it doesn’t feel that way.”
The Chelsea Curve, artfully craft music that touches the mind and soul but it is also music that you can’t help but groove to.
By George!, they have done it again ! The Chelsea Curve , have delivered a stunning mod pop gem , with their latest single, via Rum Bar Records, “Never Come Down” . You can listen to “Never Come Down” on Spotify Here and on the Apple Music Here
The vibes, the sounds… Boston based Mod-Pop trio, The Chelsea Curve have got it going on and then some.

“Never Come Down,” is an anthemic belter that recalls late-’60s psychedelia and mid-’90s Britpop, that is out today , (Friday, August 29) on Rum Bar Records. The new single marks the tireless band’s fourth release on the Boston indie label in just four months.
The Chelsea Curve, generate a ton of sonic warmth and energy with their music… this is on display magnificently with their new single, “Never Come Down “
While “Never Come Down” is a creative shift for the trio, bringing guitarist Tim Gillis to lead vocal duties, the forward-motion mantra and relentless backbeat that has made TheChelsea Curve, rounded out by bassist and vocalistLinda Pardee and new recruit drummerBruce Caporal, one of Boston’s most beloved bands is well intact.
It’s about the ultimate feeling of being free,” says Gillis of the new single. “I mean, who doesn’t want to feel free, unfettered, unbound? It’s about being up above it all, opening arms wide to possibilities, and expanding infinitely into forever – going where distractions are a distant memory. It’s pretty cosmic, and a little trippy. But it’s still got our sound wrapped around it; filled with some hooks, and always with some edge.”
“It is a little bit of a veer-off for us,” admits Gillis. “We wanted it to have a big sound, and we layered a LOT of vocal tracks to get that. And there’s a more extensive guitar solo than in most of our songs. And a little more 12-string. So subtle differences here and there.” Adds Pardee: “Tim’s vocals are our secret weapon as our live audience knows, but now with a proper release others will find out too!”
The track was recorded by Mike Quinn at Mad Oak Studios in Allston, Massachusetts, and mixed across the Charles River by Quinn at Bluetone Studio in Somerville. It was produced by The Chelsea Curve and mastered by Dave Locke / JP Masters, with Pardee crafting the eye-catching, poster-styled artwork.
If you have need for amazing music, then you need “Never Come Down “ , from The Chelsea Curve in your life.
We recently had the opportunity to check out the new single, “Cry”, from 21 year old New Zealand-born, Gold Coast-based,multi -instrumentalist, Sam Osbourne Bryant. You can listen to “Cry” on Spotify Here, Apple Music Here
The amount of energy that is packed into “Cry”, from Sam Osbourne Bryant, is positively off the charts.
Sam brings a raw, emotional edge to the world of alternative rock. With a sound that channels the spirit of Oasis, Nirvana, and Stone Temple Pilots, Sam’s music blends grunge, Britpop, and hard rock into something both nostalgic and urgently current.
His new single “Cry” captures the restless, heavy-hearted frustration of young adulthood—feeling stuck, running in circles, and wrestling with the fear that nothing might ever change. With gritty guitars and laid-back vocals, “Cry” simmers with internal tension. Lines like “I can’t shake this feeling of being wasted” and “They told me that it would be alright / All you need is just a little patience / I don’t got no time to wait” cut deep into a sense of disillusionment that defines a generation.
We were instantly captivated by the next level skill of Sam Osbourne Bryant, “Cry” is an instant rock gem that you can’t afford to miss.
So find your favorite listening spot and get lost in the rock goodness of “Cry” from Sam Osbourne.
Boston mod-pop trio pair rousing rendition of Mickey Lee Lane’s ‘60s stomper ‘Hey Sah-Lo-Ney’ with Andy Lewis’ fiery remix of ‘Jamie C’mon’
Since the Boston mod-pop trio last dropped new music, almost exactly two years ago, the unexpected happened: Beloved label boss and confident Justine Covault of Red on Red Records suddenly passed away; bassist and vocalist Linda Pardee was diagnosed with breast cancer; and founding drummer Ron Belanger amicably left the group to relocate to North Carolina, leaving Pardee and guitarist Tim Gillis without a beat to guide them.
So what’s a band to do? Regroup, reload, and get back on the scene. And call Boston music veteran and stylish gentleman Bruce Caporal to hop behind the kit and fill the role as the new drummer.

The Chelsea Curve’s new beat begins today, (Friday, May 16, ) when they make their RumBar debut and launch the double A-side single featuring a rousing rendition of Mickey Lee Lane’s 1965 Northern soul stomper “Hey Sah-Lo-Ney” and a fiery Andy Lewis remix of 2022 single “Jamie C’Mon.” The upbeat tracks hit the streams ahead of the 7-inch arriving in July on Mod Glass Clear or Sharp Suit Black vinyl
The Chelsea Curve celebrate the night of the streaming release with a party at Faces Brewing Co. in Malden alongside Yes Nanny and Rum Bar labelmates Diablogato.
“It’s been a while, and we’re raring to get back at it!,” says Gillis. Pardee agrees with her usual enthusiasm: “We’re ready to go, baby!”
For some, especially on the live circuit, The Chelsea Curve never went away, staying sharp through select live shows, including brief stateside tours with British brethren Sharp Class and Norway’s The Cocktail Slippers, and a jaunt over to England to bring their ultra-stylized energy and sound to an appearance at the 45th anniversary of Mods Mayday in London.
The gritty and shout-along “Hey Sah-Lo-Ney” first debuted when The Chelsea Curve played The High Rollers scooter rally in Las Vegas back in 2023, and the response from the assembled crowd of British and American scooterists confirmed they captured the song’s true spirit. And now it gets the proper recorded treatment, providing another extension of the band bridging the gap and entrenching a cultural connection across the Atlantic. Plus, hey, it’s a total belter.
This one’s a little different for us, more of a rock and soul groove,” says Gillis. “On this one, we wanted to keep some of the roughness and rawness of the original but put our own mark on it, and I think we did that. It’s a great showcase for Linda’s vocals – she really sings the hell out of it.”
Adds Pardee: “I came across this classic Northern soul number a while back and instantly loved it. I love that this song is from a time when rock and roll still seemed kind of dangerous and maybe even ‘forbidden’. The lyrics are raw; they’re an ecstatic proclamation, frenzied… slightly out of control. The call and response makes you want to sing along. The pounding beat makes you want to dance. It’s all so very primal.”
And it makes a perfect companion track to Lewis’ remix of “Jamie C’Mon,” fueled by the English producer, musician, and DJ’s sonic enhancements, which includes super cool bells and whistles, rhythm tracks, extra keyboards, and a good dose of fairydust. It also features The Chelsea Curve Mod Squad: Rod Spark on keyboards; Dan Levine on trombone; and Jay Webb on trumpet. It’s an instant party-starter.
“I wanted to do a Northern soul style dance remix of ‘Jamie C’Mon’, and asked our Mod Squad keyboardist, Rod Spark, who could make that happen,” Pardee offers up. “Without hesitation, he said Andy Lewis – he’s played in Paul Weller’s band and DJ’d on the Blur Parklife tour, so his creds were a perfect fit! Rod connected Andy and us, and that was that!”
You can check out “Hey Sah-Lo-Ney Here and Jamie C’Mon ( Andy Lewis Remix) Here
The Chelsea Curve, is everything we love about music and then some. We love the Northern Soul, vibe with Hey Sah-Lo-Ney’, and “Jamie C’Mon ( Andy Lewis Remix)
A new drummer, a clean bill of health for Pardee, a new label, a new 7-inch, a newly-minted Bandcamp page, and a healthy slate of live shows positions The Chelsea Curve back at full operational speed, with Covault’s cherished memory and constant support not far from their collective hearts. New music is fast on the way this summer, a string of singles leading to either a new EP or new album around the turn of the calendar, and the crew is headed back to England for summer shows with Sharp Class and The Len Price 3. The run also includes a gig on the Isle of Wight for the world’s largest scooter rally.
The Chelsea Curve, have the groove you need, so do yourself a favor and check it out.
The Northern Line celebrate the single later that night ( April, 11th ) at Fireseed Arts in Framingham with The Chelsea Curve and Britpop Social Club
We had ourselves an absolute blast and a half checking out the splendid new single “Throw A Fist” from Boston indie band, The Northern Line. You can check out “Throw A Fist” Here
There is nothing better in the whole world than listening to a song for the first time and being absolutely blown away from the musical bliss that you just heard . This is absolutely the case with “Throw A Fist”
With a sound unlike anything else making waves at the moment, The Northern Line filter their style of Britpop, baggy, Madchester, and acid house through an invitation urging everyone to bang a drum, throw a fist, and get on the indie dancefloor. And the invite now takes on a literal meaning.
The crisp and emphatic “Throw A Fist” gets the single release treatment on release night at Fireseed Arts Studios in Framingham, pairing up The Northern Line with Boston mod-pop trio the Chelsea Curve and BritpopSocial Club, the mad-fer-it DJ team of MichaelV (the pill boston) and Lady K.
After declaring arrival with anthemic debut single “Lightning Strikes” this past fall, the Mass.-chester lads of The Northern Line now settle into a delectable groove with the melodic “Throw A Fist,” with both to be featured on their debut EP set for release later this year. It’s a song fueled by euphoric liberation, indebted to memories and moments – and the ability to move on past life’s stresses. It’s a throwback in style while looking entirely ahead.
“‘Throw a Fist’ is a personal song, but it is also a song that connects with anyone who has done the hard work to move on after a meaningful relationship falls apart,” says vocalist Bilvox. “The liberation, the freedom of the ‘fist’ that’s thrown – mostly metaphorically – is throwing away the pain, the failed dream, and embracing the future.”
That kind of optimism harkens back to the halcyon days of the early- and mid-’90s, when all we needed was a melody and a dream. “Throw A Fist” serves a song that truly defines The Northern Line’s sonic exploration; it was the first track that came together after Bilvox’s prior band fell apart, and where “Lightning Strikes” declared a sort-of arrival, “Throw A Fist” is the sound of a band settling into its own creative skin and forging a true super-sonic identity.
Settling in as a cohesive unit – vocalist and guitaristBilvox joined by keyboardistMike Ackley; lead guitaristPete Zeigler; bassistJoshh Magee; and drummer, backing vocalist, and engineerMcG – the new single finds the quintet firing on all creative cylinders.
The drums provide quite a spark in “Throw A Fist “ which , ignites an electrifying spirit throughout the amazing new track. The Northern Line, have scored big time with their latest melodic gem .

We were also so blessed to be able to share so much amazing music . We have made the difficult decision to put the blog on the back burner. At this time we need to focus on other important matters. We do not know how long we will be away but, we will return. We thank all of you for your support
We recently had the chance to check out the new acoustic EP “Stay The Same” from Milton Keynes (U.K based indie- alt band Wesson. The four piece band is led by singer/songwriter Chris Wesson, and also includes bassistCallum, guitaristJimmy, and drummerDale
You can listen to “Stay The Same on Spotify Here and on Apple MusicHere
Featuring three songs from their 2023 album, All We Are, the new acoustic release also includes a brand new single, title-track “Stay the Same.” Written from the perspective of a person whose glass is half empty and always sees the bad things in life, the band explain, “This is the type of person who just complains and then looks externally for something or someone to lift their mood, rather than working on themselves and making positive changes. They are ungrateful, unable to see the good in life and they pray for change but things either get worse or just stay the same.”
We are already are huge fans of the sound and vibe of WESSON . They have this brilliant 60’s retro Brit pop sound that transfers over flawlessly when the songs are stripped down and played acoustically. “Stay The Same” is an EP you can’t afford to miss.
“Stay The Same” is a laid back, easy listening track , that showcases WESSON’s versatility, with soft, layered harmonies gliding over toe-tapping, organic instrumentation. Their infectious sound will worm its way into your ears and you’ll quickly find yourself chanting along to their storytelling lyrics. They have had an overwhelming response to this release on social media platforms. Fans and strangers alike are commenting positively on how WESSON could be the modern-day Beatles. Each acoustic track is also accompanied by a live performance video which were all filmed in Chris’s self-built studio.

We recently got the amazing opportunity to check out the new single and video for “Tyrannical Wrecks” from charismatic singer-songwriter Marc Valentine.
You can listen to “Tyrannical Wrecks”Here and you can check out the video below which , was directed by Roland Harris and filmed at Voewood Hall, Holt, Norfolk
Valentine says “Tyrannical Wrecks” is, “An observation of the abuse and vanity of power. It was inspired by the pandemic – when, through the lockdowns, there were different rules for the privileged, and no consequences. Their parties, networking and money-making schemes carried on as normal. They flaunted their power with disdain, as people cowered in their homes, terrified and alone. We lost so many people, and so many things, yet they gained even more power and wealth.”
Produced by Dave Draper (The Wildhearts, Ryan Hamilton, The Professionals), “Tyrannical Wrecks” is the third track to be taken from Marc’s sophomore album ‘Basement Sparks’, which is set for release on March 22 via Wicked Cool Records.
We absolutely love “Tyrannical Wrecks” Marc Valentine has crafted an absolutely brilliant power pop gem
