The creative force behind YouTube’s billion-view Clash of Clanscinematic universe and Netflix’s Emmy-nominated Entergalactic (starring Kid Cudi, Timothée Chalamet and more), Fletcher Moules is turning the lens inward with the release of“Maybe”, a melancholic synth-pop postcard from his music project The New Condition. The track and its accompanying music video debut Friday, September 19.
We are absolutely enthralled with the cinematic marvel and synth pop masterpiece that is “Maybe” from The New Condition.
While Moules has built a career directing blockbuster stories—from Super Bowl commercials with Liam Neeson and Christoph Waltz to co-writing Agent Elvis with Priscilla Presley—The New Condition marks a return to something deeply personal.
This is a quiet creative pull that’s been with me for 20 years,” says Moules. “Maybe was written in a very different chapter of my life. I never thought I’d share it—but it lingered, and over time, matured into something more layered, warm, and emotionally resonant.”
Built on nostalgic synths, crisp electric drums, and an unfiltered vocal performance, “Maybe” floats between joy and longing. It’s soft and strange in all the right ways—a sonic exhale for uncertain days.
Produced with mixing by Mark Saunders (The Cure, Erasure, Depeche Mode) and mastering by Matt Colton(Blur, Charli XCX, New Order), “Maybe” is a collision of memory and modernity.
The accompanying music video pushes that ethos even further—created entirely with Google’s Flow Veo3, a cutting-edge AI video tool. Using only his own photographs and licensed images as prompt material, Moules crafted a cinematic, emotionally rich visual journey for just $300 in credits.
The result? A full AI-generated video that looks and feels indistinguishable from live action—without sacrificing artistic intent or ethical responsibility.
I think of these AI tools like making an animated film,”Moules says. “To me, it proves AI can empower independent artists to tell high-end, emotionally resonant stories—if used responsibly.”
The video depicts a dreamlike drive through moments in the cycle of life: ants carrying leaves, priests with a coffin, a man sleeping beneath an overpass. The car ultimately drives off a cliff and sinks beneath the water—only for the protagonist to escape and find the embrace of a silhouetted woman. It’s poetic, surreal, and entirely AI-built.
“There aren’t too many artists creating full AI music videos like this yet,” Moules notes. “It’s a new creative frontier, and one I wanted to approach with craft and care.”
Before directing billion-view content and award-winning series, Fletcher Moules was a musician first. His teenage band Vapourware won Triple J Unearthed, played Homebake, and toured with acts like Cut Copy. With The New Condition, he’s reconnecting with that part of himself—redefining what’s possible for independent artists in 2025.
If creativity and music is your spark, you owe it to yourself to check out “Maybe”, from The New Condition.
We recently had the opportunity to check out the new single, “Game Over”, from Boston’s finest chiptune trio, Battlemode. You can listen to “Game Over” on Spotify Here, Apple Music Here,
Game Over” soundtracks a broken relationship in a way only Battlemode could; its vibrant Game Boy pulsation and moody blacklight kiss-off slams the controller down on the game of love and quickly unplugs the console. It’s a polished earworm that takes us back the dank mental arcade of our youth, with a kaleidoscopic euphoria, a glitchy witch house undercurrent, and a hypnotic tumble that demands repeated listens.

Not only do we get blazing new music from Battlemode, but the trio is getting ready to take the stage at Boston Calling , “Game Over”, comes exactly one week before taking the stage at Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston alongside Dave Matthews Band, Luke Combs, Vampire Weekend, Fall Out Boy, and a few dozen others.
Lining up this new single ahead of the Memorial Day weekend music festival is no coincidence. While last summer’s smooth synth-pop jam “Playlist” was all about wallowing after a bad breakup and listening to all the songs two lovers once shared in the good times, the moody pulsation and basement rave kiss-off of “Game Over” slams the controller down on the game of love and quickly unplugs the console.
When the song declares “I’m so done with you” in a high falsetto that arrives with such sass our heads snap back to the dank mental arcade of our youth, it’s clear Battlemode – the tag-team combo of Astrologic (Astro), Bifflecup (Biff), and Sam Mulligan – is moving on and moving out.
Following in the path of “Playlist” and buoyant “Just Pretend,” which got the proper music video treatment this past January, “Game Over” is a polished earworm with a kaleidoscopic euphoria, a glitchy witch house undercurrent, and a hypnotic tumble that demands repeated listens. The infectious track was produced by Curt Martin, and Narvicto DeJesus delivered the bright and animated single artwork.
“Oh, not Battlemode doing another song about a soured relationship,” says Biff with a cocksure wink and a roll of the eye. “Are we petty for writing a song about exes who have wronged us? Our last breakup song ‘Playlist’ came from a place of heartbreak and vulnerability. We’re sad bois, OK?!?! But ‘Game Over’ covers the colder side of breakups. When someone has tried your patience to a point where you’re dead inside.”
“Game Over” is Battlemode, fully charged and playing at full strength. The lyrics may imply “Game Over” However, Battlemode, is ready for the next level.
We recently had the distinct honor to check out the new album, “Desire!” Via Earth Libraries, from indie electronic/ rock duo, Friend Of A Friend. You can listen to “Desire!” Here
Friend of a Friend, the duo of Claire Molek and Jason Savsani, returns with their third album, Desire! The record is an expansive and layered exploration of yearning, transformation, and connection, infused with the strange and unsettling energy of the place where it was recorded.
The making of Desire! was defined by the environment: a sprawling Victorian mansion in Illinois chosen for its seclusion, reverb-friendly spaces, and serene desert surroundings. Initially, the house seemed like the perfect creative retreat, but its unsettling presence quickly revealed itself. Strange creaks and unexplained noises filled the nights, and both Claire and Jason, usually unfazed by old houses, found themselves sleeping with their doors open, gripped by an unshakable sense that they weren’t alone.
On Desire!, Friend of a Friend refines their sonic identity while embracing an expanded palette that balances the cinematic with the intimate. The duo describes the record as a culmination of lessons learned from their previous works—In Arms and FACILITIES—pushing their sound into new, more deliberate territory. “We’ve always played with big ideas, but this time we focused on clarity,”Claire explains. “We wanted every layer, every texture to serve the narrative.”
Producer Jordan Lawler (M83), who also worked with the duo on FACILITIES, played a pivotal role in shaping the album’s sound. His approach seamlessly integrates analog and electronic elements, from shimmering synth pads to deep, tactile rhythms.
“Desire!”, from Friend Of A Friend, is beautifully layered with melodically and sonically perfect gems, that add many interesting elements to the sound and vibe of Friend Of A Friend.
“oasis”, “beautiful ppl”and “moonlight “ are three standout tracks on “Desire!” The track that really made an impression on us, was the title track, “desire “ We love the deep hauntingly beautiful tone that stayed with us long after the track ended .
We highly recommend checking out the remarkable new album, “Desire!” It is an absolute can’t miss.
NYC’s beloved synth-pop sibling duo Paperwhite, (Katie & Ben Marshall) are back with their shimmering new single, “By Your Side,” you can listen to the amazing new track, “By Your Side” on Spotify Here , Apple Music Here
We are so enthralled with the energy on “By Your Side” by Paperwhite. They are master synth-pop architects that have crafted a total vibrant gem of a song .
Undeniably catchy, “By Your Side” is a glistening slice of synth-pop, blending nostalgic retro charm with a modern, radiant glow. Hypnotic beats pulse beneath lush synths, while Katie’s ethereal vocals drift effortlessly, creating a soundscape that swells and shimmers. With this release, Paperwhite reaffirm their status as trailblazers in the indie synth-pop scene.
By Your Side’ is a song we started years ago but kept coming back to,”Katie and Ben share. “As we explored new themes and sounds for this chapter, the song quickly came to life. It’s about navigating a complicated relationship. Whether with someone else or with yourself, there are two sides to the same story.”
The beauty of “By YourSide” is how the melody effortlessly weaves beautifully between the flawless vocals giving the song an added dimension that is absolutely stunning
Since making their debut over a decade ago, Paperwhite have captivated fans and tastemakers alike, earning praise from Billboard, Vice, and Buzzfeed, and securing spots on numerous Spotify editorial playlists. The New York-based duo quickly became blogosphere favorites, twice earning the HypeMachine title of Most Blogged Artist. Beyond their online acclaim, Paperwhite have shared the stage with Oh Wonder,SOFI TUKKER, and Great Good Fine Ok, solidifying their place as one of indie pop’s most beloved acts.
After a brief hiatus, Paperwhite re-emerged in late 2024 with their new single “Unfold,” marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Their forthcoming EP, due out this Spring, stays true to their signature dreamy, synth-driven pop while incorporating natural textures and a cinematic depth.
“By Your Side” from Paperwhite is a song that you simply can’t ignore.

Commenting on the track, front man Guy McKnight says: “PINK LADY is a tribute to the life of Rae Pinx. Tragically she died suddenly in an accident. She was the long term partner of my ex-band mate in The Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster, Marc Norris. She was a multidisciplinary artist, including being a great and much published live music photographer, and also a full time tattoo artist. She was passionate about many kinds of alternative music and was also a Bruce Springsteen aficionado. It’s one of the first songs we three wrote together as THE DSM IV.”

We recently had the otherworldly opportunity to check out the new single “Want That” from Nashville based alt-pop solo act Dawning. You can listen to “Want That” on Spotify Here and Apple Music Here
We absolutely love it when we get music from an artist that we have never heard of. ( It feels like opening a mystery present on Christmas morning.
We definitely felt this excitement, when we listened to the new single “Want That” from alt-pop solo act Dawning ( and it did not disappoint)
The second of four songs slated for release, which will all culminate in an EP, “Want That “follows Dawning’s recent single ‘Blue‘ into a world of dark, atmospheric electronic-pop. The song is a meditation as a consumer in a consumerist culture within the wider context of global climate change.
There is this unbelievable force of energy that surrounds “Want That” from Dawning that is absolutely mesmerizing.
Embodying the voice of our ad-laced landscape, Want That’s synthesizer-laden chorus whispers to the listener “Tell me if you want that, tell me if you need that, cuz’ it’s all yours, this is all yours, take as much as you can.’ A perfect single for ruminative night-drives through the city, Want That is neither cynical nor optimistic. It merely asks the listener the question: do you want that?
Dawning is the ethereal and translucent work of Aaron Senor. Melding the hooks of pop, dreamlike shoegaze, and elements of electronic dance music. Senor, creates like a master painter , “Want That” is an absolute musical triumph.
Stop whatever you are doing and go get lost in the musical wonderment that is “Want That” from Dawning

Photographer: Cameron Maier
“Show My Teeth” is all about the adventure and highs and lows you experience while on tour. The playful track comes to life through oscillating, kaleidoscopic synths, and a fast-paced, move-inducing beat.
Magic Bronson, has carved a unique niche in the music scene with their compelling blend of introspective lyrics and pulsating beats. Known for their distinctive sound that marries electronic music with raw, emotional indie elements, Michael Nicastro and Matthew Lieberman have been captivating audiences since their formation. Their music, a vibrant mix of synth-driven melodies and bass-heavy rhythms, speaks to the heart of the urban experience, reflecting themes of anxiety, societal observations, and personal introspection
Off of their upcoming album, Good Dogs, their latest single “Show My Teeth” is all about the adventure and highs and lows you experience while on tour. Lieberman shares, “It can be super fun and thrilling but also fairly repetitive and exhausting. We wanted to capture that feeling of rolling from one city to another and the excitement but overall blur it can be waking up in a new city everyday and having 24 hours to experience what it has to offer before you have to hit the road again.”
Along with the vibrant single, the duo has also unveiled a fun video to go along with the track . Magic Bronson will be performing at the Moroccan Lounge on January 28th, as well as an album release party at Echo Bend in Atwater Village on the February 8th

“Stay 4 Love” is hypnotic and mesmerizing track that we couldn’t not resist. Ella Rosa has given us an absolute gem.
“‘STAY 4 LOVE’ was born out of a night where everything went wrong—card declined, seeing my ex make out with a close friend. Despite it all, I stayed, hoping I’d lock eyes with someone new and maybe make my ex jealous,” says Ella. “This song nails that mix of hope and chaos. It’s fun, it’s easy to dance to, and now, it’s my anthem for knowing when to call it a night.”
We are all in with “Stay 4 Love” from Ella Rosa and you should be too.

Alvin Risk),” Will continues to carve out his place as a boundary-pushing artist destined to leave a lasting mark on the music industry.

Reflecting on the creative process behind the new single, Will shares, “It started with a simple room recording, capturing the atmosphere around me, which is often how I begin. As I added layers, I was inspired by the acid house movement that swept the UK in the late ‘80s and the nostalgic Ibiza vibes of the ‘90s. That blend of energy drove the song’s direction.” Some songs have the special ability to leave a lasting impression on your soul, “Into The Blue “ from Will Sass featuring Kamille is definitely one of those songs.
“Into The Blue (feat. Kamille)” pulses with vibrant beats, elevated by Kamille’s soulful and magnetic vocals. Her lyrics perfectly capture the feeling we were aiming for, and for me, that’s the pinnacle of songwriting—when the music and the mood are perfectly in sync.”
There is this incredible level of musical synergy between Will Sass and Kamille on “Into The Blue” We were absolutely mesmerized. Do yourself a favor and get lost in the magic of “Into The Blue “ from Will Sass featuring Kamille.

We recently had the glorious opportunity to check out the new electronic-pop album “Bottle Grin” from Kit Orion. The musical genius behind Kit Orion, is Worcester native and Cambridge based songwriter, producer and DJ Caitlyn O’Brien . You can listen to “Bottle Grin” Here
Our music loving heart was instantly filled with great joy , upon our first listen of Kit Orion’s euphoric new electronic-pop album Bottle Grin.
Kit Orion’s debut album opens a portal to perseverance and self-confidence, as the Worcester native grapples with bouts of self-doubt, a fixation on perfection, and personal trauma that was impacting her mental health. The result of this inner and outer journey plays out in vivid color across glossy beats and kaleidoscopic electro-pop.
“Bottle Grin” from Kit Orion unfolds like a page turning best selling novel with beautiful mind bending melodies, we were absolutely enthralled .
“This album feels like a series of sonic journal entries to me,” O’Brien says. “A lot of the lyrics in this album are a response to complicated grief. During the time I was writing these songs, I experienced abundant loss. I lost multiple pillars in my life, one after another over a short time. I was not able to have the space to grieve each person before another one was gone, so writing these songs was an acknowledgment of my people, their existence and their absence as a form of catharsis.”
What we love most about “Bottle Grin” is the melodic and cinematic flow of the music .O’brein’s voice is a stunning and powerful instrument that delightfully shines and soars through out the 13 well crafted tracks on “Bottle Grin”
To peek inside Bottle Grin, past the shiny beats and glossy exterior of kaleidoscopic electro-pop, and past an emotional curtain that O’Brien may have once guarded with her life, is to not only understand the Worcester native’s creative headspace over the past two years, but to relate to it on a personal leve
From the kinetic strobe light mood of lead single “Like Honey” to the theatrical indie-pop confessions of the album closing title track, O’Brien weaves coming-of-age tales with delicate precision and a dream-like wonder. Select interludes, spliced-up samples from her personal past, pulled from home videos, take us back to her childhood, allowing a glimpse of the innocence and confidence she, like most of us, have lost along the way through adulthood.
‘Get Grounded’was written as a letter to myself, as I was experiencing depression, so it was difficult to write,”O’Brien reveals. “But sitting with my younger self, and looking back to give her some hope, helped me to remember to be kind to my current self, because my younger self is still there and that joy can be found even in difficult times.” Last year, O’Brien submitted ”Get Grounded” to Waveforms:A Multimedia Art Event at TheMuseum of Science in Boston, where she redesigned the song into spatial audio with the MIT Spatial Audio Lab. The day after Bottle Grin’s release, on October 25, O’Brien will return to Waveforms, taking part in the MIT Spatial Sound LabFutures of Listening multimedia art occurrence at Midway Artist Studios in Fort Point.
“Each one of these songs was written as a response to a prompt, which also acted as a vessel for meditating on personal grief and trauma in real time,”O’Brien says. “I chose each one of these songs for the record because it felt like an accurate patchwork quilt of vibes for what was going on for me at the time that I was writing these songs.” Beyond her own songwriting, and providing vocals, synths, keys, samples, and drum programming, Bottle Grin was ultimately a collaborative affair. O’Brien wrote and produced the tracks, with recording, co-production, and additional engineering by Evan Murphy at Ombic Sound in Worcester, Massachusetts, and BigNice Studio in Lincoln, Rhode Island. Mixing and mastering was done by Bradford Krieger at Big Nice Studio.

More traditional live performances are also on the calendar, as Kit Orion plays Cambridge’s Lizard Lounge after the album drop: for the Bottle Grin afterparty on November 7 with Justice Cow and Baker Thomas Band.
Performing with Justice Cow is especially poignant, as it’s the project of Jessica Kion, who not only provided bass guitar on BottleGrin and directed and edited the “Like Honey” music video, but led a songwriting club during the pandemic that helped plant the seeds for the tracks that appear on the record. Kion now performs in the Kit Orion live band, with Dutch Tulips’ Matt Freake on synths, drums, and percussion.
In addition to Kion, the album features a wealth of contributions: Chris Barrett on trumpet; Kyle Harris on drums; Ben Levin on electric guitar; Laurence Scudder on viola; and Samuel Taber on piano and Rhodes and Hammond organs. Additional vocals and vocal samples are provided by the aforementioned Kion, Levin, and Murphy, plus a range of family members that reinforce the personal nature of the music contained within: James O’Brien, Mason O’Brien, SueO’Brien and Richard O’Brien Jr.
We highly recommend finding your favorite music listening spot, and getting lost in the beauty of “Bottle Grin” from Kit Orion
We recently had the amazing experience to check out the new single “Fun” via Palm Tree Records from rising dance pop sensation Ella Rosa. You can listen to“Fun” Here
There is something positively electrifying about Ella Rosa’s dance-tastic new single “Fun” We were moving our feet right from the first mesmerizing beat. Ella, brilliantly fuses UK garage, drum and bass, R&B, and bedroom-pop into something distinctly her own.
Her hypnotic melodies blend seamlessly with infectious, pulse-pounding production, while her sweet yet commanding vocals lure listeners into a world of irresistible beats and captivating rhythms. With “FUN,” Ella cements her status as an innovative force in the left-of-center pop space.
“I came up with the concept of ‘FUN’ when things were not fun at all,” she shares. “I had just moved to a daunting new city and felt pressure to fit in with the ‘cool kids.’ I fell into a weird little crown and discovered a mischievous side to myself I actually grew to love. I wrote the song in third person because, at the time, I struggled with disassociation and it felt like I was watching my life unfold from the sidelines. I wanted that feeling of eerie detachment to come through in the music, which is why the track almost sounds spooky.”
Ella’s musical journey began when she moved from the English countryside to New York City at the tender age of 11. Feeling displaced and homesick, she found solace listening to thoroughly English music like UK garage, drum and bass, and pop icons like the Spice Girls. By the time she was in college, her early passion for music had blossomed into a dual life—studying opera by day and sneaking off to underground parties by night, where she connected with DJs and began lending her vocals for EDM tracks. By her third year of college, Ella took a leap and returned to the UK to hone her sound and embrace her own artistic identity.
Now, back stateside and living in Los Angeles, Ella has continued to come into her own as an artist. She ended last year hitting 1 million streams on her single “OFF+ON” with veggi and has been collaborating with top producers like Anwar Sawyer (Audrey Nuna, Rihanna), Jeff Shum (Ella Mai, Demi Lovato), and CAMBO (Doja Cat, Steve Lacy), among others, further perfecting her gritty, genre-blending sound.
With ear catching beats and vocals, Ella Rosa is ready to make her presence known.

We recently had the most excellent opportunity to check out the new single “Just Pretend” from Boston chiptune electronic-pop trio Battlemode and we can’t stop smiling and grooving. You can listen to the musical Picasso that is “Just Pretend” on Spotify Here on Apple Music Here and on Bandcamp Here
Let us start by saying that from the moment we pressed played on “Just Pretend” from Battlemode we fell instantly in love with. “Just Pretend” iis everything that is right and good about music . “Just Pretend” gave us literal goosebumps from the first note so freaking good.
Where July single “Playlist” – declared an undisputed “Song of the Summer” by Boston media – was a broken-hearted breakup song and the digital impressions we leave behind, the pulsating 8-bit sophistication of “Just Pretend” suggests a new level of life and love awaits just around the corner for Astrologic (Astro), Bifflecup (Biff), and Sam Mulligan. It’s a restart of the game of love, just when everyone around them is feeling reborn.
“Just Pretend’ is about two people starting a possible new relationship, but still having reservations because of past love trauma. They ultimately decide to ‘Just Pretend’ that stuff doesn’t matter and to live for the moment. The theme and lyrics were inspired by a relationship I was in where we both were scarred by the past, but we wanted to pretend we were normal people, and could have a fresh start.” – Astro
Battlemode, will make an appearance at a special 35mm screening of Hackers at the Somerville Theatre on September 15’sHackThe Planet Day (an event curated by Battlemode themselves), the idea of starting over – and leaving the past behind – rings clear across a cool wave of Game Boy bleeps and bloops. You can find more information Here
“Musically, the center of gravity on ‘Just Pretend’ is the chiptune solo section,” says Biff. “The idea was to present a digital pop song that doesn’t initially reek of chiptune. The solo acts like a hair-metal guitar solo – slightly virtuosic, dramatic, and shows-off what a Game Boy can really do.”
Battlemode make vibrant and meaningful music that touches your soul and makes you move your feet and “Just Pretend “ is a shining example of this.
We started The Whole Kameese back in 2020 as a way to keep busy during the pandemic. We are so lucky to have worked with so many wonderful artists, promoters and other music professionals. We were also so blessed to be able to share so much amazing music . We have made the difficult decision to put the blog on the back burner. At this time we need to focus on other important matters. We were captivated and inspired by tracks such as , I Know That I Need You” , “Lost” and “Tides” One track that really caught our ears was “ Mánya” There is this real tranquil and calming/wave like vibe on “Mánya” that is really appealing. We found ourselves feeling very connected to “Mánya”
