We recently had the epic opportunity to check out the new EP, “Red, White, and Blue”, from Boston, hard rock band, Parts Per Million. You can listen to “Red, White, and Blue” Here
Fast, furious and unapologetic, Parts Per Million have crafted pure rock brilliance with their powerful new “Red, White, and Blue “ EP.
The ferocious EP arrives at a time when we need it most. Across nearly 10 minutes of unrelenting sonic fury, the Boston band rages against the regime and all the forces that led us to this moment, with blame to go around on every side and each level of our decaying country. This is no act of moral grandstanding or attempt to convince one side over the other.
This is a band – vocalist, guitarist, and lyricist Paul McSweeney; guitarist and vocalist S. Brian Bailey; bassist and vocalist Alex Marks; and drummer and vocalist Brad Griffen – that’s pissed off, sonically unhinged, and unafraid to astutely point out that we are all responsible for the absolute clusterfuck that is life in 2025.
Creating this record has been so much fun – tinfoil hats and riff city,” says McSweeney. “We spent two weekends together at Halo Studios with our longtime producer and friend Kevin Billingslea working on these songs before we recorded them later in the month. Kevin had a huge part in writing some of the best parts and lyrics of these songs. He always does, but all of us have really had some difficult years recently, and everything going on is fucked. I reached out to some of my favorite artists, poets, and friends and poured my ideas into them and they poured them back.”

“Red” takes on conservatives and how we’ve raised the cult leader in charge to a deity figure, as the band taps into hip-hop and riffs that inspire dancing; a sonic lineage of System of a Down, Faith No More, and Alice in Chains; and references to Daddy Yankee, a now devout evangelical Trump supporter. It finds Griffen jumping into the band’s vocal arena with his harrowing screams.
“White” challenges the role white privilege plays in elevating evil by those indifferent to real-world issues as people of color suffer in plain view. Its sound marries Parts Per Million’s love for Opeth and Devin Townsend, and S. Brian Black’s guitarwork acts a tribute in style to Randy Rhodes and Diary of a Madman-era Ozzy.
“Blue” demonizes progressives on the left for their self-righteousness and lack of any real action, paying musical homage to classic NYC hardcore, with Hannah Arendt emerging in a spoken word bridge narrated by Dvstin Black of VantaBlack and Fathom Farewell
You owe it to yourself to check out the power and fury of “Red, White And Blue”, from Parts Per Million.
