We recently had the stellar opportunity to check out the new single, “Clarity”, from South Bay–born, Nashville-based alternative/pop-punk artist MEGG. You can listen to “Clarity” Here
From the moment you hear the electrifying new single , “Clarity” , from MEGG., you can’t help but be absolutely mesmerized. ( The song is freaking perfect)
“Clarity takes me back to my roots as a vocalist. It’s a cry for any semblance of honesty in our currently very dark world.”-MEGG
A collection of six raw and unapologetic tracks, Low Life Club cements MEGG’s status as one of pop-punk’s boldest new voices. Blending pop sensibility with punk-rock roots, she’s built a sound that’s rebellious, catchy, and deeply personal — a fearless soundtrack for tomboys, romantics, loudmouths, and misfits alike. Channeling Gwen Stefani’s swagger, Hayley Williams’ firepower, and Joan Jett’s grit, MEGG brings early-2000s energy into a modern, unapologetically self-defined era.

Low Life Club’ feels like the unofficial soundtrack to the West Coast and is easily some of the best music I’ve ever put out,” she adds. “It’s multidimensional — the heaviness, the vulnerability, the riot, the vocal chops, the nostalgia, the party, and everything in between. It’s got a little something for everyone. I’m really proud of these songs and stoked to give them to my fans.”
A graduate of USC’s inaugural Popular Music Performance Program,MEGG has been tearing up stages across the country — from headlining hometown venues like Saint Rocke (Hermosa Beach) to packing The End (Nashville). She’s shared stages with KISS and The Used, opened at Musink, and recently performed at the 30th Anniversary Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach. She’s also sung the National Anthem for the LA Dodgers, LA Galaxy, and LA Sparks at Crypto.com Arena.
Following a string of singles in 2024 — including the bratty fan-favorite “IDC” (currently spinning on SiriusXM’s The Pop Off and 107.7 The Bone’s Bone Breakers) — MEGG continues to build momentum toward Low Life Club. Earlier tracks like “Get Over It” and “The End” gave fans a taste of what’s to come, showcasing her knack for combining anthemic hooks with raw emotion and unapologetic attitude. We recently had the epically awesome opportunity to check out the new single, “Talking To Heads” from indie rock band, Phoneboy. You can listen to “Talking To Heads” on Spotify Here , Apple Music Here
We have said it before and it certainly bears repeating. Phoneboy brings a supercharged energy with their music, that cannot be ignored, and “Talking To Heads” is no exception.
Once we heard the vibrant and electrifying tone and melody of “Talking To Heads”, we couldn’t help but move our feet and sing along
Phoneboy’s third album, Heartbreak Designer, is the next chapter for the indie-rock group, blending their signature infectious energy with a more refined, introspective sound. Following the success of Moving Out, the album explores love, loss, and self-discovery, marking a new level of depth in their songwriting and production. Lead single “I Look Alive” has already made waves, landing in Sirius XM/Alt Nation’s Top 18 and setting the stage for the full release. With this record, Phoneboy isn’t just evolving—they’re defining their place in the indie rock landscape.
In support of their new music the band just wrapped up a tour as support with Good Kid. Now in May-June you can catch the band on their headlining tour this spring as they bring Heartbreak Designer to life on stage.
Formed in 2018 by Wyn Barnum, Ricky Dana, and James Fusco, Phoneboy started as three college friends making music in a scene with little space for indie rock. What began as campus shows soon turned into packed venues, millions of streams, and a reputation for high-energy performances. After years of playing alongside the band, longtime friend Jordan Torres officially joined on keys and vocals, bringing a fresh dynamic to their sound.
So do yourself a favor and get yourself lost in the musical magic that is “Talking To Heads” from Phoneboy.
We recently had the otherworldly opportunity to check out the new single “Want That” from Nashville based alt-pop solo act Dawning. You can listen to “Want That” on Spotify Here and Apple Music Here
We absolutely love it when we get music from an artist that we have never heard of. ( It feels like opening a mystery present on Christmas morning.
We definitely felt this excitement, when we listened to the new single “Want That” from alt-pop solo act Dawning ( and it did not disappoint)
The second of four songs slated for release, which will all culminate in an EP, “Want That “follows Dawning’s recent single ‘Blue‘ into a world of dark, atmospheric electronic-pop. The song is a meditation as a consumer in a consumerist culture within the wider context of global climate change.
There is this unbelievable force of energy that surrounds “Want That” from Dawning that is absolutely mesmerizing.
Embodying the voice of our ad-laced landscape, Want That’s synthesizer-laden chorus whispers to the listener “Tell me if you want that, tell me if you need that, cuz’ it’s all yours, this is all yours, take as much as you can.’ A perfect single for ruminative night-drives through the city, Want That is neither cynical nor optimistic. It merely asks the listener the question: do you want that?
Dawning is the ethereal and translucent work of Aaron Senor. Melding the hooks of pop, dreamlike shoegaze, and elements of electronic dance music. Senor, creates like a master painter , “Want That” is an absolute musical triumph.
Stop whatever you are doing and go get lost in the musical wonderment that is “Want That” from Dawning
We are absolutely enthralled with “Lowbender” from Trip Villain , the electronic and metal vibe is exactly what is needed in today’s musical landscape.
Raised on metal and shaped by Bushwick’s electronic renaissance, TRIP VILLAIN’s rhythm-forward approach is both relentlessly heavy and irresistibly danceable. Regularly hosting shows that blend metal with electronic DJs, TRIP VILLAIN has earned a reputation as one of the most innovative crossover bands in the scene today.
Trip Villain delivers music that makes you think and move absolutely brilliant we love it when bands come full force with a fresh take .
Do yourself a favor and check out “Lowbender” from Trip Villain it will make your music soul rejoice.

ColorMeKrazy! ( Mia Brunel, vocals, Tom DeTrick, guitarist, Zach Gehr, drums, Drew Hutchins, guitarist and bassist Edward Lee ) are expert level musicians who have next level musicianship ( basically these guys freaking rock . )
We also love how written and produced “Fences” the vocals are perfectly woven between mind bending melodies. Listening to “Fences “ from ColorMeKrazy! Is riding your favorite ride at an amusement park and not wanting to get off .

We recently had the opportunity to check out the stunningly magnificent debut single “Tattoo” from UK based indie-folk five-piece Bottlemoth.( Ethan Proctor Williams-vocals/guitar, Chessa ProctorWilliams-vocals/keys , Matt Bond-Vocals/ guitar, Henry Matthews-Bass, Tom Farkas– drums )
Bottlemoth formed in January 2024 by the former members of Bridges. The band cut their teeth touring the UK under their previous moniker, playing tour supports with Slow Readers Club and festivals such as 2000Trees, Isle of Wight and Glastonbury. Since returning to live in 2024 as Bottlemoth, the band have already performed alongside The Dangerous Summer, Cold Years, Jim Lockey & The Solemn Sun and Adult Leisure. Previous releases have amassed over 130,000 streams and have been celebrated by the likes of Far Out Magazine, Clash and God Is In The TV.
“Tattoo” is a well a written melodic gem that gently finds its way into your heart and soul. Lyrically “Tattoo” isat its core a lyrical masterpiece piece that flows effortlessly with a stunning melodic musical backdrop.
Discussing the lyrical themes behind the single, vocalist and lyricistEthan Proctor says, “Discussing the lyrical themes behind the single, vocalist and lyricist Ethan Proctor says, “I got my first tattoo when Chess and I met. Henry and Tom had lots already, and I’d maybe thought too much about the permanence before. Etching memories and art into your skin can be a wonderful thing, and I now have the buzz. Collecting them has become a real hobby now, but I don’t think I’ll ever be covered. I think people that can be fully covered in tattoos must have a strong sense of who they are, and that’s inspiring to me. We can riddle ourselves with doubt, and sometimes it’s hard to just do it.”
Tattoo was written and produced by the band themselves across home studios, drums were produced with Joe Marsh at Orchard Studios and the track was mixed by Adrian Hall (Tori Amos, Bess Atwell, Nova Twins, Cassia) who’s experience and expertise helped the band’s vision develop into a unique sound.
“Tattoo”, is taken from their upcoming debut album ‘Even Us Ghosts’ out later this year.
We are simply delighted by the pure heartfelt message and musical brilliance displayed in “Tattoo” from Bottlemoth. We can’t wait for what’s next .
We started The Whole Kameese back in 2020 as a way to keep busy during the pandemic. We are so lucky to have worked with so many wonderful artists, promoters and other music professionals. We were also so blessed to be able to share so much amazing music . We have made the difficult decision to put the blog on the back burner. At this time we need to focus on other important matters. We do not know how long we will be away but, we will return. We thank all of you for your support
Last Friday, we had the amazing opportunity to check out Raleigh, North Carolina based hype rock band ColorMeKrazy! and their phenomenal new single “Ex-Friend”, which is simply electrifying. You can check out “Ex-Friend on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here . We recently chatted with ColorMeKrazy! As they are our Artist Of The Day for March 7th 2024 .
The Whole Kameese: Thank You so much for taking the time to chat with us here at The Whole Kameese .
All: Thanks for having us!
The Whole Kameese : Can you please introduce yourselves and your role in the band . Part 2 can you tell us how you all came to be ColorMeKrazy?
Mia: I’m Mia, I’m the lead vocalist and a co-producer for the band. I add beep boops and write lyrics! Tom: My name is Tom. I arrange songs & play guitar for ColorMeKrazy! Drew: I’m Drew, I absolutely shred on a variety of spreadsheets and documents to keep the band running smoothly. And I occasionally strum the guitar. Zach: I’m Zach! I play drums in the band, dabble in running our live sound, and I mix/produce our tracks.

Tom: The band came to be in late 2023, after Mia reached out to me online. She’s a bit of an insomniac, so I got a message at like 3:00am asking to start a band. I work nights, so I answered right away, & we practically had plans for this thing solidified by dawn. A few more messages brought the rest of the gang into the mix shortly thereafter.
The Whole Kameese: ColorMeKrazy! has an amazing one of kind sound that we absolutely love ! What are some of the influences that helped shape your sound?
Mia: Definitely for me, I have produced a lot of soundcloud rap and hyperpop over the years, as well as being an avid gamer, so a lot of my influences are really electronic sounding artists like 93FEETOFSMOKE, Grimes, or EDEN. Drew: It’s a list long enough to put us beyond our word count, but I can speak for both myself & Tom when I say the catchy riffs and melodies are inspired by bands like: A Day To Remember, Yellowcard, Paramore, Story of the Year, The Early November and Jimmy Eat World. Zach: Yeah, most of my drum parts take great influence from bands like Green Day, Blink-182, My Chemical Romance, and other bands from the warped tour era.
The Whole Kameese: We love the latest single “Ex Friend” , the vibe and sound is absolutely electric. Can you talk about how the song came to be ?
Mia: I actually wrote the lyrics for this song after a really close friend betrayed my trust in a really deep way. Tom sent over this instrumental, I think it was just the chorus bit, and it was so in your face I knew exactly what to take my anger out on!

The Whole Kameese : Is there any special meaning behind the band name?
Mia: Me and Tom went back and forth so many times on band names. I kept suggesting names that were too soft, Tom’s names were too dark, I think I let my ghost hunting interest bleed in somewhere. At some point Tom just brought the name up. It sounded like a cool blend of the two of us, I like to think of us as Hot and Cold, Color and Krazy! Tom: yeah, I was talking to my buddy at work, & he said “Now, color me crazy, but I think…” & I was like “Hold that thought!!” I practically ran away from the man just to write it down. It just felt right.
The Whole Kameese: What Is the band beverage of choice ?
Mia: We are a healthy bunch, we are always bringing water to things! But probably a more fun answer is whatever soda we decide to pick up at Cookout! Zach: & A few of us enjoy dabbling in all things whiskey!
The Whole Kameese: Can you talk about your writing process as a band? Is one person the main writer or is it a group effort?
Tom: Typically, I’ll make a rough roadmap of how I see a song going in my head. I leave room in the demo for 808s & electronic elements, so that Mia can come in & work her magic. Drew has a wonderful ear for adding little ambient lead parts that compliment what’s already there. Zach, of course, writes his own drum parts. It all comes together in a really beautiful way.
The Whole Kameese: If ColorMeKrazy could play a show anywhere, where would it be?
Drew: A sold out crowd at The Ritz in Raleigh would be amazing. Mia: I think for me, I’d love to go back north and play a show in NYC. I miss New York a lot. Zach: Personally, being originally from DC, it would be awesome to play any of the bigger DC clubs like 9:30, The Anthem, Union Stage. But I truly enjoy all live music venues and any chance at being on stage. Tom: A lot of my early involvement in the music scene also took place in & around DC & Baltimore. The energy surrounding alternative music in that part of the country is unmatched in my experience. So I’d say there.
The Whole Kameese: Finish the sentence… The best part of being in ColorMeKrazy! is?
Mia: My friends! When I first moved to NC I didn’t know anyone. I’m really happy I got to meet all these guys, and can proudly say they are quickly becoming my favorite people to be around. Drew: Getting to be creative with other creative people. Zach: The creativity and unique perspectives that all the members bring. We truly do come from differing musical backgrounds and I think it shows in our original music. Tom: Everything. I spent 10 years out of bands, & I missed it every day. Now that I’m back in the saddle, I love it all. Even the really tedious stuff. It’s all great.
The Whole Kameese: If you could open for any band who would it be ?
Mia: Right now, I’d say Meet Me @ The Altar. I went to their show in Greensboro, and I feel like we would vibe really well. Zach: To name a few, Pierce the Veil, My Chemical Romance, State Champs, or Knuckle Puck. Have seen most of them live and am a huge fan of their music and live performances. Drew: A Day To Remember. They bring insane amounts of energy and the crowds at their shows always bring it as well. Tom: I’d like to open for Senses Fail again. My old band played a show with them back in like 2012, & it was at a point in their career where they were NOT popping, not like they are today. But even with a crowd of probably 60 people in a 1800 cap room, they brought ALL the heat that night. It set a precedent for me as a performer going forward, it’s 100% or nothing. So I’d love to open for them now that they’ve regained their footing & are filling those bigger rooms like they deserve!
The Whole Kameese: What is next for ColorMeKrazy! In 2024
Mia: This is our first year, but it’s jam packed. By the end of the year, we will have a full EP out and hopefully will have played a bunch of shows we can tell you about next time!
