THUMPER, Unleashes Blistering New Single, “The Drip”

We recently had the privilege to check out the tremendous new single, “The Drip” from Dublin psych-pop powerhouse THUMPER. You can listen to “The Drip” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here

THUMPER, comes in red hot with their new electrifying riff fueled new single, “The Drip” and we loved every freaking second of it .

The track is the first of a series of releases across 2025 leading to the release of their sophomore album which follows debut Choice Music Prize nominated Delusions of Grandeur which was an epic introduction to the band’s psych-drenched rumble which juxtaposes walls of distortion with saccharine melody and unabashed hooks.

The Drip is a song about tour burnout and relationship strain. The song was written almost a line at a time, small lyrics jotted down at different moments on tour, in different cities, different head spaces. The title refers to that slow accumulation, drip torture was on my mind, but also an IV drip – something that keeps you alive, hooked to your veins. In this case my deep love for making music, and the people I make it with.

The song has no chorus – no release. But it’s joyous and builds with momentum with each passing section, even as the lyrics seem to become more abstract. This conflict between love for the thing, and that thing destroying you – that’s The Drip. “Poke to find a vein, flick the bag”

The song was recorded with producer Rian Trench in rural Donegal, in a cottage that we converted into a studio. We built a control room in the sitting room, and ran cables into the various bedrooms for guitar amps, even using Alan’s van to house the bass amp outside (as the volume inside the house was making the fillings in our teeth come loose). The double drums were then recorded in Attica Studio in Donegal owned by Tommy McLaughlin ( Soak, Villagers, Ailbhe Reddy). There was no signal, no wifi, no distractions – just friends making music together. We were listening to a lot of DIIV and Wednesday at the time, and we were lucky enough to rope in Alex Ferrar (engineer/producer of Wednesday,MJ Lendermann, Angel Olsen, etc) on mixing duties.’

“Lost My Head-Rediscovered ”, from Costal Club , is the kind of song that feels like a magical , hypnotic 4 minute and 11 second vacation.

To say we were instantly captivated by “Lost My Head–Rediscovered”, from indie pop sensation Coastal Club, is a massive understatement.Known for their infectious guitar-driven hooks and uplifting, high-spirited anthems. The band consists of drummer David McGuire, lead guitarist and vocalist Avery Benter, and lead singer and guitarist, Alex Hirlinger. Drawing from influences like Young the Giant and COIN, Coastal Club exudes a refreshing sense of optimism and joy through their music, while creating a sonic landscape that is both electrifying and comforting. Though based in landlocked Ohio, there is a longing for the coast found in their romantic, lighthearted, and beachy melodies.

With a sound and vibe that will leave any music lover smiling from ear to ear , we can’t wait to hear more from Coastal Club .

A great artist has the ability to create outside the box and make their audience feel an authentic connection with their music, we definitely felt this when listening to the new single, “The Edge” from The American Dawn .

Hello Music Lovers, It’s Jay From The Whole Kameese and we are over the moon excited about the inaugural Moon Over Salem festival ( Who’s Coming???) happening this Saturday (September 14th) in downtown Salem, Ma featuring Six Stages of Live Music & A Salem Flea Art And Vintage Market.

Moon Over Salem aims to support the community by raising funds for local scholarship programs. Proceeds from the festival will go towards awarding two scholarships to students pursuing music or the arts in college. The scholarships will be awarded to one NAGLY youth and one North shore student, helping to nurture the next generation of artists and musicians.

The festival will feature a diverse lineup of live performances across various venues, each highlighting a unique genre or “vibe”:

Crow Follow Deliver A Groovy Trip With “I’m In Love With You”

We recently had the extreme privilege to check out the new single “I’m In Love With You “ via Rock Garden Records from Boston based shaman rock and urban cabaret brigade Crow Follow .

Listening to “I’m In Love With You” from Crow Follow feels like a groovtastic out of body experience which, we highly recommend.

The musical juices are overflowing on “I’m In Love With You “ as they have artfully added low-rock, post-punk, and art-rock vibes to give you a song that you won’t soon forget.

Crow Follow will bring their brilliant live show to The Jungle in Somerville on June 28 with Emily Grogan Band, Catwolf, and Galaxy Cake. 

Onstage is where seeds of Crow Follow’s latest smoke dance of a single were first planted, as the music that flows through them during live sets helped foster an intimate connection amongst the band members themselves and the audience in the room. Like a cherry bomb lit off a hot summer sidewalk, the rambunctious “I’m In Love With You” fires dueling guitar and saxophone lines, swirling in unbridled loving energy. Providing a magnetic low-end soundtrack for underground dance parties, it opens our hearts in a time of tension and chaos.

‘I’m In Love With You’ is about this vibe I get when we’re playing on stage,” says Crow Follow guitarist and vocalist Tim Sprague. “The music swells up out of me, but it’s not me. It’s something bigger using me to express this passion, this love. Everyone in the room was a collaborator, a co-conspirator when this song birthed itself on stage. That chorus of ‘You know / I’m in love with you’ comes from an authentic emotion. When the music is running through me I am in love with everyone in the room.”

Announcement: The Whole Kameese Is Going On Hiatus

We started The Whole Kameese back in 2020 as a way to keep busy during the pandemic. We are so lucky to have worked with so many wonderful artists, promoters and other music professionals. We were also so blessed to be able to share so much amazing music . We have made the difficult decision to put the blog on the back burner. At this time we need to focus on other important matters. We do not know how long we will be away but, we will return. We thank all of you for your support

Cosmic Sans Give Us an Absolutely Otherworldly New Single With “Yuri”

We recently had the opportunity to check out the new single “Yuri” from Cosmic Sans, who are a alternative/indie-pysch rock band out of Missoula, Montana. You can listen to “Yuri” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here

One listen to “Yuri” from Cosmic Sans and it is crystal clear that they are a band with a sound and vibe that you need to pay attention to. We were instantly drawn in by the memorable melody and flawless vocals.

The band has been around since 2019 , and based on what we can see and hear they are just getting warmed up .

The band’s self-titled, self-produced debut release was released in fall 2021, and the band has experienced a steady rise since then, highlighted by two Pacific Northwest tours in the summer of 2022 and fall of 2023. This spring, Cosmic Sans will be playing Boise, Idaho’s Treefort Music Fest for the second time before undertaking a 4-week long tour of the western United States and Canada supporting Anchorage, Alaska’s SunDog

The song “Yuri” tells the story of the first man in space, Yuri Gagarin, through his perspective, and his internal reflections on doing what no man has done before.

Cosmic Sans have beautifully crafted an absolute gem with “Yuri” Cosmic Sans are a band of highly skilled musicians who are firing on all cylinders with “Yuri”

The band’s triple guitar layering is on total display on “Yuri” really lifts the song into the stratosphere.

Yuri” was produced/engineered by Seamus Jennings and was mastered by Joe Carra of Crystal Mastering.
