Formed in 2024, ALTARBOY has already carved out a reputation for their high-energy shows, horror-inspired imagery, and campy matching uniforms. The lineup features Sean Flanagan (bass/vocals), Ben Harkins (guitar), Adam Kelly (guitar), and Nick Held (drums). “We love all of our music videos for different reasons, it’s hard to pick a favorite. But this one was by far the most fun we had shooting,” the band shares.

It’s a ‘zombie party,’ but that’s exactly what it was behind the scenes — just a party. Everyone in the video are our closest friends and we just told them to drink and dance. We hope the video is as fun to watch as it was for us to make. Our friend, Nicky Fexx, directed the whole thing and it was an absolute blast. Life sucks. The world sucks. We’re going to party anyway.”

Band Shares Story of Near-Disaster on the Road; Announces Tour Dates with Calling All Captains, Violet Night, and Gutter King

The excitement and energy generated by Chief State on their new single, “No Breaks “ is literally off the charts .

No Brakes”, a high-octane anthem born from one of the band’s scariest road experiences.

Frontman Fraser Simpson recalls the real-life inspiration:

“Summer 2022 we were sailing down the interstate heading from Houston, Texas, to Austin when all of a sudden the worst thing happened – no brakes. I was driving at the time and so to not create panic, I didn’t mention our predicament to the rest of the guys until I managed to grind the van to a halt with what brake fluid we had left. What happened next was a week of being stranded in Austin (s/o Rare Bloom for letting us crash) while we waited for an out of stock part to arrive to fix our van. The mechanic then said our vehicle was so rusted he wouldn’t advise driving 50 yards down the street, we cancelled shows, we ran out of money, we considered flying home. The poignant lyric “Nothing ever goes our way” repeats throughout the song because honestly, nothing has ever gone our way. But here we are, back again, doing the thing we love because we’re young and dumb and would like another excuse to get in a van and tour the continent. To quote another line from the song: “Nothing like a little bit of latent fear, of dying young and dumb without my loved ones near” – sign us up!”

No Brakes” was produced, engineered, and mixed by Tim Creviston(Spiritbox, Youth Fountain) and mastered by Stu McKillop (Midnight Peg, By A Thread)  at Rain City Recorders, capturing the band’s signature mix of urgency, grit, and bittersweet honesty. Over the years, they’ve released acclaimed records, toured extensively across North America and beyond, and carved out a loyal global fanbase. With “No Brakes,” Chief State prove once again that they’re at the forefront of modern pop-punk—louder, sharper, and hungrier than ever.

Stranger” — a stripped-back, emotionally charged reflection on the moment someone you thought you knew becomes unrecognizable. Released independently, the song continues the next chapter in Kane’s creative evolution: one defined by honesty, independence, and total creative control.

Written in one spontaneous burst of emotion, “Stranger” captures Kane at his most vulnerable.

“I wrote ‘Stranger’ in like 20 minutes after spending hours just chilling with the songwriter Sara on this—too much tea, too much coffee, way too much avo toast,” Kane shares. “Sometimes the most real songs hit you quick, like they’ve been waiting to get out. This one’s about that moment when you realize someone you thought you were close to is basically a stranger. It’s not that they changed—they’ve always been like this, you just finally see it for what it is. That feeling of, ‘I should know you, but I don’t’—it’s unsettling.”

Not only is the Bristol ( UK) trio giving us an incredible new single, they are also pleased to announce that their debut studio album ‘I Know A Place’ will be arriving on April 24th 2026 to limited edition vinyl.

The creative energy that lives within “Drugstore Cowboy”, from Krooked Tongue, is an absolute thing of beauty. We found ourselves completely mesmerized. The perfectly placed melodies and stunning lyrics had us hanging on every word

The album’s previous singles ‘Marigold’, ‘Let ‘Em Loose’, ‘Ember Mile’, ‘Nothing Ever Grows’, ‘Dog Days’ and ‘You Don’t Need A Sun Tan’ saw support from Apple editorial’s ‘Breaking Hard Rock’, ‘New In Rock’, New Noise Magazine, HEAVY Magazine, CLOUT, Fab UK, Bristol 24/7, Sirius XM, Total Rock, Primordial Radio and Boogaloo Radio, with ‘Nothing Ever Grows’ being used throughout the Bivol vs Beterbiev boxing fight on DAZN Sports and ‘Let ‘Em Loose’ being used to soundtrack Progress Wrestling’s live show at London’s Electric Ballroom.

Recorded and produced with long-time producer Josh Gallop (Sergeant Thunderhoof, Mother Vulture, Phoxjaw) at Stage 2 Studios in Bath, ‘Drugstore Cowboy’ dials the octane up to 10 from the very first note, blending fuzz-fueled guitars, driving drums and sing-along vocal lines, lyrically exploring the cause and effect of living selfishly. 

On the single’s subject matter, vocalist and lyricist Oli Rainsford explains, “‘‘Drugstore Cowboy’ is a high octane goose chase through downtown, knocking over newsstands, bumping into passersby and tearing through the clustered chaos of the everyday hustle and bustle. There’s this movie from the 80’s called ‘Drugstore Cowboy’ with Matt Dillon (based on the book), and I remember watching it for the first time and just soaking in its atmosphere and attitude. It has a ton of 80’s charm that I figured would be a really cool subject to translate into a song. It’s chaotic and brash but at its heart there’s a relatable message. In the pursuit of our own needs, we can often disregard reality. It’s about a man who will do anything for a rush no matter the consequences, and despite this, is thoughtful and aware enough to know that he is the way he is. You might not like it, but you gotta respect it.  There’s a divine peace in knowing your downfalls, and ‘Drugstore Cowboy’ is a tune that throws its arms wide open, falls backwards and trusts whatever decision fate casts upon us.  ‘Drugstore Cowboy’ is a gunslinging, store raiding soliloquy that acknowledges what it means to truly live in the moment. Being the main character in your own story, even without knowing how that story will end. 

The song was actually written on the acoustic, but it was immediately clear it was going to end up a belting javelin of a tune. It harks back to the sounds of mid-late 2000’s rock, which is kind of a vibe we reckon, channeling a bit of what was still left of the golden age of MTV. You can almost imagine the boys from Jackass barrelling down a f-ton of stairs with ‘Drugstore Cowboy’ blasting in the background. At its core it’s just a helluva fun song, and sometimes.. that’s enough.“

Accompanying the single, Krooked Tongue are releasing their most ambitious music video to date, filmed by the band’s guitarist Dan Smith. Being an independent band navigating the costs of releasing an album and working with a £0 budget, the creation of the video saw the band pushing the boundaries of their creativity and resourcefulness; the result being a three minute exploration into each member’s cinematic and creative influences.

Discussing the creation of the video, the band state: “With the influence of American film in ‘Drugstore Cowboy’s’ premise, it felt pretty obvious that the music video needed to be cinematic. We wanted to capture the atmosphere of 70’s/80’s Americana, a time when being at the movies was enough for most people. The music video for ‘Drugstore Cowboy’ wears its influences with unapologetic pride. With references to some of our favourite film makers, whether it be the crash zooms of Quentin Tarantino or the colour grading of David Fincher. We had a ton of fun filming this video, thinking on the fly for locations that might be cool around our beloved town of Bristol and unhinging the veil of being rockstars for a bit and taking ourselves less seriously which made way for a load of great scenes and also a load of bloopers.

Krooked Tongue, has once again taken their music and vibe to the next level, with “Drugstore Cowboy” and we absolutely love it . If you are on the lookout for the next great sound… you have definitely found it with Krooked Tongue.

Noah Villeneuve, known for his unique brand of melancholic indie-folk, emotive vocal style and achingly honest lyricism.

Villeneuve’s music is marked by a deep vulnerability in his storytelling, crafting melodic earworms and a compelling soundscape that is captivatingly catchy. His acutely introspective yet universally relatable songs blend elements of folk, alt rock, lo-fi pop and emo-americana textures.

Kneejerk is about grieving those mistakes of the past with a curiosity in the present and hope towards the future. It’s putting a mirror up against some of your wrong footing and acknowledging your flaws. Experiencing deep wonder of where that person is now, what they are doing, and feeling that ‘kneejerk reaction’ to call them or reach out for your phone expecting to see that message that never actually arrives.”

Suspect Your Elders’ follows 2021’s debut album, ‘How Soon Is Mars?’, which received critical acclaim for its innovative sound and emotional depth, taking listeners on a journey through the cosmos of their imagination. The album was celebrated by the likes of Punktastic, Noizze, At The Barrier, Visions and Everything Is Noise and saw the band awarded slots at festivals such as ArcTanGent, Portals and PWER.

Recorded, mixed and mastered with Mark Roberts (Delta Sleep, Black Peaks, Poly-Math, Jamie Lenman) at Devon’s Middle Farm Studios, ‘Suspect Your Elders’ expertly blends elements of math-rock, post-rock and ambient noise, creating intricate rock soundscapes to explore themes of unpredictability, complex emotions, and the dark side of the internet.

The final single ‘Surfer’ uses explosive riffs and seductive guitar lines to convey the dark side of time wasted surfing the internet. 

Explaining what they hoped to convey with the single, guitarist Josh says, “‘Surfer’ is an analogy for our complex and often overwhelming relationship with social media and the internet in general. While the internet is obviously an extremely powerful and useful tool ‘Surfer’ definitely explores the darker side – the ease with which we can lose ourselves online, hide behind a curated digital persona, or simply waste time.”

“The main inspiration for the song actually came from a time I found one of those Google home-page games, which happened to be based around surfing. I became so engrossed that I completely lost track of time and reality and played for well over an hour, as if I had been pulled into another world or dimension”, adds Rory.

The track, originally released as a single as part of 2023’s second studio album ‘Time Is Not On Our Side’, fuses delicate rhythms, gorgeous harmonies and soaring country-esque guitar lines to delve into the breakdown of a meaningful relationship.

Discussing the single, vocalist Tom Corneill explains, “‘Never Gave You The Blues’ is about the breakdown of something beautiful, but he sees it one way and she sees it another. He says if he’d known it was going to hurt them both he would never have started it…but we know that’s not really true. It’s a classic he said / she said story; Not everyone can be telling the truth.”

The video for “Never Gave You The Blues “ from Young Martyrs, featuring Natalie Brice is the perfect cinematic companion to a breathtakingly beautiful song.

The band have been hard at work in the studio over the course of 2025 with new material to be expected throughout 2026. Last week we had the extreme privilege to check out the debut single. “Candied Ginger”, from rising NYC, based singer-songwriter, Maggie Kane . We felt an instant connection with Maggie’s authentic and genuine vibe that came shinning through on “Candied Ginger”

Maggie, who roots are in the theatre. absolutely shined in the video. Kane is the co-creator and lyricist of “this old haunt”, a folk musical and 2025 O’Neill semifinalist. Previously, it has had an academic premiere at Carnegie Mellon University, workshopped through NYU’s Tisch New Theatre, Fort Salem Theatre, as well as participated in the Latiné Musical Theatre Lab and Prospect Theater Company’s New Musical Mixtape concert.

It is clear that Maggie Kane, puts her whole heart in all her artistic endeavors, and the magnificent video for “Candied Ginger” is no exception.

Being that it is such an honor to sing on Sly & Robbie riddims, I was initially a bit intimidated, honestly,” says Spaker. “But as I stepped into the booth that first night, a feeling came through that was effortless and full of vibes. When I felt the energy coming from Sly & Robbie’s playing, I just composed the lyrics and melody in one rough take. What an honor to be able to create alongside my musical heroes. Double Tiger is no stranger to critical acclaim. “Whiskey Queen “, is only the beginning kicking off a fury of activity that leads to some exciting announcements in the fall. 

But in the meantime, “Whiskey Queen,” the Allston foursome’s first new music since its 2022 self-titled debut EP, sets a relentless tone through a sweaty blitz of hard riffs, thunder bass, punching drums, and gritty, weathered vocals. It’s loud, aggressive, and quite simply, necessary as fuck

“It’s a punch in the face,” says bassist and vocalist Keith Bennett, a Boston hardcore veteran. “It’s a greasy, sleazy rocker from a greasy, sleazy rock and roll band. We’re letting the world know we exist, and it’s no time for polite introductions.”

Bennett and the band, rounded out by Brendan O’Hare on vocals and guitar; Goose on guitar and vocals; and Phil Slopak on drums, have been creating a noisy racket around the Boston neighborhood of Allston since their inception a few short years ago. And shortly after the video drop, they crank up the volume in their own backyard for a free, outdoor gig at Courthouse Park in Brighton on Sunday, July 27.  

How stroked are they to release this visual? “I think the phrase ‘rabid dogs’ would be very appropriate,” Bennett says with a chuckle. 

The black-and-white, foot-on-the-pedal, all-gas-no-sass music video Maloney created, capturing Casket Rats in their natural habitat – throwing down a live performance clip at their Foster House practice space. Sometimes it’s best to just keep it simple and let the music do the barking.

Originally a solo project for Brendan Wright (they/them), Tiberius has evolved into a catchy and cacophonous four-piece, producing what Wright calls “Farm Emo.” This expanded lineup of Wright, bassist Kelven “KP” Polite (he/him), drummer Sam Blumenstiel (he/him), and pedal steel player Pat King (they/them) blends Indie Punk, Alt Country and Psychedelia with confessional, yet conversational and relatable songwriting.

“Sag is about this dreaded ‘Allston to Bushwick’ pipeline we have in Boston. A lot of musicians end up using Boston to cut their teeth before heading off to New York or LA to pursue their music careers. I wrote ‘Sag’ when I was really playing the ‘comparison game’ in my head and asking myself what role I wanted music to play in my life. It was the first in a batch about looking at yourself in relation to the others around you and trying to decipher who you are without that context.“–Brendan Wright (they/them)

We here at The Whole Kameese, freaking loved April’s debut, five-track EP ‘KISS ME ON THE MOUTH’  and we were not alone as it was celebrated by the likes of Asbo Magazine, RTE, Fame Magazine, KUTX, Sirius XM, Rough Trade’s ‘Counter Culture’, Ones To Watch and Apple editorial’s ‘New In Rock’.

Produced in-house by Ryan Rogers (Mumble Tide) and the band themselves in their DIY home studio and mastered by Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering (PJ Harvey, XTC, Big Special), ‘Firing Line’ is a bustling concoction of sleazy rhythms, blues-tinged guitar riffs,  impeccable percussion and lush harmonies that sees Oswald Slain at their most earnest, lyrically exploring the emotional boundaries of loving someone. 

On the single, vocalist and lyricist Charlie Fitzgerald says: “It’s a Ride or Die, deeply romantic tune about supporting and loving someone during their roughest moments. It’s one of our absolute favourite songs off the upcoming album. It was massively satisfying to record and really grounding to write the lyrics. We had been listening to lots of Weezer and Pixies when we recorded Firing Line so that was a huge influence on the recording for sure.”

We simply cannot wait for the upcoming debut eight track album, “BUCKY”

Discussing the creation of the album, Fitzgerald says: “Making this record was a massive turning point in our lives. After being a bit unsure of where things were headed and what we were doing, the days spent recording these songs in our little studio were the moments of clarity we needed to get the ball rolling with something new and creatively exciting. 

“BUCKY is a short eight track album that captures our moments of surrender, growth and hope within a chaotic and cluttered lifestyle. We made the record pretty quickly, writing songs in the morning then recording them in the afternoon, for the most part pretty live using a cheap dynamic mic on the vocals with no separation from the drums. We weren’t seeking perfection but it felt good not to be too precious about anything. We were living with Ryan Rogers at the time who took a lead role in producing it and added some impeccable enthusiasm which was exactly what we needed. It was nice to make something that felt honest, fun and vulnerable, and we can’t wait to get it out into the world.”

Oswald Slain has an aura and coolness about them that puts the band in a class all their own . “Firing Line” is the song you needed in your life but you didn’t know it till you heard the first amazing chord. We are definitely putting “Firing Line”, on repeat as we anxiously wait for “BUCKY”

KIN TALA is the moniker of Dom Rogers and Shee Juma – two producers whose songwriting stretches back to school days. Originally from Blackpool in the North West of England, the boys met at a band practice in college and played music together before exchanging a word. Becoming fast friends soon after, the pair wrote and recorded throughout university, fine-tuning their craft independently and dreaming up big ideas.

McKay, brilliantly walks between the dark and the light on their sonically and melodically pleasing new single, “Luna” and it is positively divinely beautiful.

McKay, are a band that are brimming with master musicianship, as they have effortlessly crafted an absolute gem in “Luna” that has us completely captivated.

Along with the new single, McKay, is also releasing a beautiful visual for “Luna” When asked about the video the band shared, We worked with Josef Lloyd to encapsulate an aesthetic vision we have had since the conception of the band. Trains have always felt like a pertinent image to us due to what we feel like they represent (transit, change) and felt like this particularly applied to Luna since the song takes the listener through a process of emotional growth and maturity. We also felt like the character of Luna was something to be explored and saw this video as a perfect opportunity to depict the character as a device to represent that change, someone who is on their own journey and, literally or metaphorically, moving from place to place. The visuals of the video were inspired by a run-down industrial aesthetic that we have always felt drawn to as a band. Working with Josef and his team we felt like we had finally created something visually that represented us.

Madison Margot is a Los Angeles-based pop singer-songwriter known for blending raw emotional storytelling with lush, cinematic soundscapes. A fifth-generation Angeleno, she began writing songs and playing guitar at eleven, turning personal experiences into vivid, unforgettable songs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Gender and Women’s Studies and works exclusively with female directors to embrace and uplift women through her creative process.

We are absolutely smitten with the latest single, “Everyone Else Disappears” , from Young Martyrs. There is a real honest authentic vibe from the track that leaped from the speakers in to our music loving soul.

Formed in 2020, Young Martyrs released their debut self-titled album that year. Their coinciding debut headline tour saw them sell out shows throughout the UK, which led to them sharing the stage with the likes of Badly Drawn Boy, The Hooziers and McFly, as well as playing slots at a variety of festivals including Glastonbury and Rock Oyster. Their second album ‘Time Is Not On Our Side’ was released in 2023, expanding their fanbase beyond the UK and saw them playing shows across New York City.

‘Everyone Else Disappears’ was produced with Sebastian Brice (Indefra Studios) at Real World Studios with additional recording by Ed Oleszko at Vintage Tone Factory. The track combines introspective lyrics and nostalgia-laden melodies, lyrically delving into the feelings surrounding unrequited love.

On the track’s subject matter, vocalist Tom Corneill explains, “These are the words of someone who’s been looking at the object of their affection for too long and from too far away. He wants to know what life would look like if they shared it, but it’s a dream that’s just too far away; Too many rules, too many people in the way. This is the song that spills out of him when it’s becoming too much. It’s the life you could have if only that person knew what was happening inside your head.”

“Sunny Side”, blends big-hearted energy with gritty hooks, the song is a rush of melodic, ’90s-inspired punk rock that’s both nostalgic and deeply personal.

What we absolutely love about “Sunny Side”, is that it immediately gives off ‘90s melodic skate punk vibes as soon as the opening guitar riff hits. It’s the kind of song that transports you back to the days when Warped Tour cost less than 20 bucks and Tony Hawk was shaping the listening habits of a generation. With fast, punchy drums, soaring guitar leads, and shout-along hooks, it’s a throwback without sounding dated — a refreshing jolt of youthful sincerity.

Lyrically, “Sunny Side” is a brilliantly written punk rock gem . It is a punk rock love song about finding a spark of beauty in the middle of a gray, lifeless backdrop. “It’s about finding someone (or something) good when everything else around you just isn’t,” the band explains. “It’s about seeing the beauty in the mundane.” The song’s refrain says it all: “You’re the sunny side of shitty town.”

Sunny Side”* is our not-so-cheesy love song — whether you see it as about a relationship, a friendship, or however you choose to interpret it. It’s a reminder that even when life sucks — sometimes, or even most of the time — it’s worth appreciating the little things. It’s about finding and embracing the _sunny side_ of whatever situation you’re in. The Ataris drop Breaking Bad- inspired music video for “Car Song” off their upcoming first full-length LP in over 15 years

This past Friday, we were positively ecstatic to check the brand new single , “Car Song”, from legendary punk rock band The Ataris, now we were even more excited, to check out the new Breaking Bad, inspired video. You can check out the video below

The video kicks off with Roe arriving at an Airbnb hosted by none other than Walter White’s family. A sign reads, “Make yourself at home, but whatever you do, don’t go in the garage!” Naturally, Roe ignores the warning, makes off with the original Volvo driven by Walter White in the final episode of Breaking Bad, and takes it on a chaotic joyride. The story escalates with a traffic stop by a cop—played by longtime Ataris producer Bob Hoag—and a surprise discovery of blue meth in the trunk. Just as things seem lost, a shadowy Walter White lookalike swoops in, stealing back the Volvo and disappearing into the desert.

We had a great time filming the video for ‘Car Song,’” says Roe. “It was a really fun day with old friends and lots of great memories were made.”

The inspiration for the song and the video’s surreal concept came from a real-life piece of Breaking Bad history: Roe purchased Walter White’s actual Volvo from the show’s assistant director and later traded it to producer Bob Hoag in exchange for studio time. “I like to say that Walter White’s Volvo was the catalyst for ‘Car Song’ and the new album,” Roe laughs. “It all just came together from there, and now, here we are.”

We are super psyched for the new video and single for “Car Song” and we can’t wait for more new music.

We are absolutely infatuated with this groove from The Manic Standstill, “Bulletproof” is the song you need desperately in your life but didn’t know it , until you heard the infectious opening chord.

Bulletproof” is a song that came together with striking speed and intensity. Inspired by a casual challenge, vocalist and songwriter Adam Bones (known for his work with Save Ferris, Richie Ramone, Josie Cotton, The Two Tens) asked his wife, Megan, a true crime enthusiast and talented writer, if she could pen lyrics rooted in the genre. To his surprise, fully written lyrics appeared in his inbox the very next day.

I was so excited and inspired by these incredible words that the music just poured out of me — I must have written the music in about five minutes,” he says. Megan later revealed that her lyrics were loosely based on the harrowing true story of Mary Vincent, a survivor of a brutal attack and an enduring symbol of resilience.

Following the success of their debut single, “Reasons Why,””Bulletproof” was once again recorded and produced by Davey Warsop at Strong Studios. The track features the dynamic talents of Aixa Vilar (drums) and Michelle Rangel(bass) from the iconic punk band Go Betty Go, adding even more energy and urgency to the song’s message of strength.

The vibrant music video for “Bulletproof“was brought to life by Nicolette Vilar, lead singer of Go Betty Go, who also directed and conceptualized the project.

I had seen Nicolette’s incredible video work for Go Betty Go and was blown away,” says Bones. “I asked if she’d be interested in making a video for us, and she came up with an amazing, colorful, and creative vision. We trusted her completely — and she absolutely delivered.”

Vilar says, “It was a pleasure working with The Manic Standstill on this very fun music video. The concept came to me when listening to the chorus of the song and knowing how tall everyone in the band is. I played with the surreal idea of a woman who goes from being tiny to crazy tall. I’m also inspired by the colors I see out in the California desert. I had a lot of fun directing the band and putting it all together in post.”

Bones adds, “At the time the video for ‘Bulletproof’ was conceptualized and shot, we had already established the core lineup of The Manic Standstill: Adam Bones, Eddy Hewitt, and Brad Dickert. Unlike the ‘Reasons Why’ video, which featured an ensemble of musicians, ‘Bulletproof’ proudly introduces and highlights the band’s official trio for the very first time.”

Bulletproof” will appear on the band’s upcoming album, set to drop later this year via Wiretap Records/Double Helix.

 the charge is the blistering first single, “Death Tax,” now streaming everywhere. The companion video for “Death Tax “ is above and it kicks some serious ass.

Vocalist Joey Dahlstrom says, “We did all of the Death Tax video — except for the time lapse — in one day last December with our pal Charlie Jordan, who shot it and put it together for us. We wanted to reflect our surroundings in Brooklyn and the themes of grime, erosion, and decay.”

Of the single, Dahlstrom: says, “Death Tax comes from thinking about entropy and decay. Nature can be cruel, violent, and indifferent — the suffering seems pointless — but accepting and understanding the terms of our existence comes with a certain viriditas, an empowering vitality to approach it head-on.”

Guitarist Kirk McGirk adds, “This one made it into our live sets pretty quickly – people would respond to it pretty well, and we like when we do something that makes people move.”

Cash Bribe, have an absolutely breathtaking, one of kind sound that is both sonically and melodically perfect. We were stopped dead in our tracks when we heard “Death Tax” If you’re not aware of Cash Bribe, now is definitely the time to start.

We were instantly captivated by the electrifying new single, “Skintight Crazy”, from August Royals. We love the dynamic and authentic style of August Royals, and it is on full display on “Skintight Crazy”

August collaborated with producer Jon Class (Medium Build, Michigander). 

August shares, “This is a song that captures the lingering effects of letting go of a relationship, realizing you’re in love with who they were and not who they are anymore. It’s a song recognizing the highlight reel of love while being aware that’s all it is, a highlight reel. For a hopeless romantic, you’ll always have the what-ifs.”

Boston alt-rock band, TELL, artfully addresses the over-crowded internet landscape, the way we communicate, and how those things shape both what we consume and what we exude, through a rumbling new single titled “Boiling The Ocean.” ( and we love every minute of it.)

The follow-up to March’s fiery and anthemic “Sweet Proximity,” this slow-burner companion track with a heavy low-end and atmospheric snarl first arrives via a Rick Berlin, brilliantly directed music video today, (Tuesday, April 15,) before the streaming release that following Friday. The band are eager to perform the song live – and in-person – when they play The Square Root in Roslindale on May 9, and then Allston’s O’Brien’s Pub alongside Joe Kaplow on June 8.

“This is my ‘fuck the internet’ song, expressing frustration how as creative artists we all have no choice but to use this same medium to get our music out,” says outspoken TELL guitarist and vocalist David Wildman. “In that sense it is kind of a ghetto that is impossible to escape. We’re all on our own trying to figure it out. And while there no longer are record companies exploiting us, there is also no way to make any money because streaming sites like Spotify have pretty much demonetized everything, and the labels that do exist push crap at the highest level. So yeah, we’re saying blow the whole thing up.

It is crystal clear that TELL, isn’t afraid to tell it like it is , and this definitely the case with “Boiling The Ocean “

The title, “Boiling the Ocean,” is lifted from the business world, a phrase that urges a person, team, or company to do whatever is necessary to get a result, even if the task seems impossible. So as Wildman – joined in TELL by guitarist Jim Foster; bassist Jay Raffi; and drummer Patrick Crann – decries our current conundrum where the internet is paradoxically facilitating and standing in the way of communicating the quartet’s music, he suggests it’s high time, to borrow a common post-punk rallying cry, to just rip it up and start again.    

“It’s all about the frustrations of connecting in this present environment, because in order to do it, you have to bend yourself to fit the medium,” Wildman adds. “I suppose this goes back to the early days where pop songs had to be 3:30 minutes tops because that’s all you could fit on a 45. Now the conditions that form the music are much more complex and on multiple levels, but no less restrictive in their way. Of course no one gives a shit about any of that, and we just want to make a video that catches people’s attention with cool images.” 

Enter Berlin for that, who agreed with the band on a concept that showed TELL performing live, but with the ocean projected over them, inspired by early Andy Warhol shows with The Velvet Underground. The symbolic gesture enhances not only the visual but the lyrical matter; an all-encompassing body of water can either drown a person or lift a person up, and in the video, TELL, dressed in all-whites as a cohesive unit, deliver “Boiling The Ocean” as found-footage scenes flash across their bodies and faces, the blue glow of the ocean both suffocating and illuminating. Just like the internet itself. 

Boiling The Ocean,” the track, was produced and mixed by Benny Grotto at Mad Oak Studios in Allston, Massachusetts, who also lent his studio work to “Sweet Proximity.” True to the songs’ sharing their companion nature, as both mark the first new TELL music since last year’s breakout EP Life In Reverse, the single artwork is the same as that of “Sweet Proximity,” featuring an illustration by Morrison Digital Art and design by J. Kaliontzis.  The band is taking a classic double A-side approach, another way to angle their art for the modern digital promo landscape. 

We love the beautiful art/musical entanglement that races throughout “Boiling The Ocean “ TELL has truly given the world a wonderful artistic gift.

Packed with allusions to spiritual vampires and the fairy cavalcade of Celtic folklore, this three-minute musical trip is the first of a number of new tracks the band have recorded for their upcoming eighth studio album (title to be announced) and heralds their March/April shows in the U.K., where they will be riding out with Ocean Colour Scene as very special guests on their 2025 tour.

Goldstate is a UK-based pop punk band that blends the energy of modern pop punk with the melodies and heart of its early 2000s roots. Featuring Ben (Vocals), James (Guitar), Jez (Guitar), and Amy (Drums), the band may be newly formed, but its members are no strangers to the stage, each bringing touring experience from other projects.

Listening to “Love Bomb”, from Goldstate, featuring, Walwin, felt like being strapped to a rocket going a million miles an hour. We loved the frantic energy generated from Goldstate. They are a band that is on the verge of great things.

We absolutely love “Cynical”, from Keeper, featuring Tally Spear. “Cynical” is one of those mesmerizing and electrifying songs that once you hear it , you can’t resist it. The perfectly placed melody and words make “Cynical” stand out like a perfect shooting star flying through the atmosphere. We were absolutely smitten.

South London’s Keeper explores the end of love, life and blissful childhood innocence in brand new single ‘Cynical’, written and recorded in collaboration with Tally Spear.

Written alongside Spear, Jon Cass (As Everything Unfolds) and Matt Thorne, ‘Cynical’ takes the shape of a 2000’s inspired pop-rock track – combining inspiration from the likes of Avril Lavigne and Busted with qmhyper-pop stars Aries and Ryan Hall. This blend of noughties nostalgia and glitchy maximalism creates unforgettable earworm material – key to the Keeper sound.

On ‘Cynical’, Keeper’s Emanuel Andrade shares ‘This song came to life about a month after a painful, drawn-out breakup—on top of the death of my Grandad and my Dad losing his job, which left my mum panicking about the house. That breakup – ending a three-to-four-year relationship – had me blasting tracks from the bands I used to love, drowning myself in nostalgia.’

Cynical’ was the first song I wrote that year, setting the sonic tone for the rest of the EP. At the time, I was still deep in the mess of everything – right at the point where I had finally ripped off the plaster. Lyrically, Cynical was easy. I was completely in my own head that month—overthinking everything and desperate for a verbal outlet. Cynical took a melancholic, self-reflective route; the true beginning of my healing journey.’

There is no better feeling than having a song hit so perfectly…. This is definitely the case with “Cynical”

“We are going to have some FUN with this video,” Smitty concludes. “Since this is not a traditional ‘love song’ by definition, the music video should also not be traditional. We promise to make it very unusual. Turn it on its side. Without giving too much away, we will be doing an homage, of sorts, to a filmmaker we all know and love, but I don’t want to spoil it by saying too much.”

“I love all that oddball stuff, and I love good bad art,” Smitty says with a laugh. “#1 Most Likely” was recorded with Alec Rodriguez at New Alliance Audio in Somerville, MA, and the Fezztones are returning to the studio to prepare additional releases for 2025.

Spearheaded by internationally renowned Irish drummer Dave Hingerty, Side 4 Collective brings an eclectic array of Irish and international artists together, sculpting songs from scratch using Hingerty’s pre-written melodic and primal drum patterns. ‘Me & Vincent‘ features the additional writing, performing and production talents of Colm Quearney and Keith Margo.  

This song, ‘Me & Vincent’ is a love letter to the urban and suburban communities of Dublin. The youth are the life and soul, humour and character of our beautiful city. The protagonists in the song’s lyrics are on a fun journey that pays homage to how Dublin Youth bring a sense of adventure and colour to our city. The video was edited by Kevin Lynch and filmed in Dublin City Centre and in Poppintree, Ballymun by Dave Hingerty and Niamh O Donnell. The Poppintree Youth Centre were so helpful in allowing us unique access so we could see how everybody there learns about music, express themselves and develop their talents.

Colm Quearney: “When Dave explained his concept for making this album, I honestly never heard of a better idea. Dave is someone who has brought his creative support and patience to so many songwriters compositions. The whole Side  4 Collective project has given his many song writing peers the chance to reciprocate their talents to his creations. The innovative thing about the project is that it turns the song writing process on its head. Dave invited songwriters to compose a song from an opposing perspective. He started out the project by sharing original drum parts with various songwriters and performance artists. Then, they got to enter the process of writing from a rhythmic perspective. The results have yielded an incredible cornucopia of songs, music and spoken word; with the common thread being Dave’s gift for finding an infectious pulse”.

Colm chose one of Dave’s exciting grooves from the Side 4 vaults. This song was recorded between three studios in Dublin and London. Colm and Keith worked back and forth on the music and lyrics responding to Dave’s funkadelic groove. The one word that keeps coming to mind when we listen to Adam Sherman’s new EP, “Nowhere But Here” is ….. “Timeless”

The beautifully crafted and orchestrated tracks are so wonderfully put together that they could thrive in any musical period.

Sherman understands that the destination suggested in the EP title is wherever we may be – or need to be – in order to truly live in the moment, be present, and develop the human connection that dissipates more with each day.

“These songs are all about finding the strength to persevere and move towards love and kindness, even when there is loss,” Sherman says. “I would love listeners to feel that joy and sadness will always be present in our lives and that we can learn to embrace both and persevere.

Nowhere But Here, produced by Ken Field and recorded with Robin Lane providing harmony vocals, Sherman’s creative vision crystallizes. Led by last fall’s lived-in and lovelorn “Pure As Yours” and sweeping February single “Gratitude,” the EP is completed by a pair of new tracks in “How Hard I Tried,” which got the music video treatment , just ahead of the EP release;( you can watch the video which was directed and edited by Carissa Johnson below and “Torn And Tattered.” The result is a songwriter fully comfortable in his own skin, and the follow-up to 2021 album Triangle Sky finds him exploring some new sonic territory that feels like a natural progression of his songwriting.  

Every song on, “Nowhere But Here “ feels cinematic by nature in that they all draw you in instantly and have you on the edge of your seat. We felt a treasure trove of emotions with each song, which made for a one-of-a-kind music experience.

In addition to the production from Field, Nowhere But Here was recorded and mixed by Jon Evans at Brick Hill Studio in Orleans, MA; and mastered by Mark Alan Miller. It represents a bit of a new chapter for Sherman, who self-releases the EP under his own Haddon Road Music. It’s indebted to his past work, but also clears a new path forward as his artist studio in Cambridge provides the backdrop for his various creative passions, from writing and playing music to painting to graphic design to running a successful voice lessons business for the past 12 years.  

Across its four tracks, Sherman provides vocals and acoustic guitar and Lane gives an inspired harmony vocal performance. To execute the full vision Sherman has for the EP, he also enlisted Field (string arrangement); Jon Evans (bass, lap steel, percussion), Mark Usher (guitar); Matthew Hutchinson (piano, organ); Matthias Bossi (drums); Dorothea Samaha (violin); and Eve Samaha (cello) to create the ethereal and expansive sound that emerges poignantly from the speakers.

North American Tour Starts April 24

Red hot Bristol (UK) nu-gaze band, Split Chain, announce the release of their debut album, ‘motionblur’, out July 11th on Epitaph Records.

We are over the freaking that Split Chain have announced their highly anticipated debut album, “motionblur” we have a feeling it is going to be absolutely brilliantly epic .

Speaking of the album, bassist Tom Davies says, “’motionblur’ is as much a coming-of-age story as it is a celebration of our adolescence and the things that defined us. We wanted to encapsulate the feelings of angst and isolation that so many struggle with growing up—but just as importantly, we wanted to honor the things that shaped us: the lifestyles, the music, and the pop culture that became part of our identity

This album is an amalgamation of our individual and collective experiences. While its themes can be dark, at its core, ‘motionblur’ is about resilience—about making it through without letting those experiences weigh you down. It was crucial for us to create an album that felt like a cohesive piece of art while still being sonically diverse. We wanted to capture the feeling of growing up in an era when albums were more than just collections of songs—they were experiences, meant to be played from start to finish, over and over again.”

Speaking of today’s new single, ‘bored. tired. torn.’, frontman Bert Martinez-Cowles says, “‘bored.tired.torn’ explores the difficulty and pain of growing up in a broken childhood home. Thematically the song centers on whether or not someone should have to deal with the shit they’re dealt by relatives just because they’re family. The song is a declaration against that, and tries to positively convey the message that nobody has to put up with it just because they’re share blood with the people hurting them. Don’t feel bound to it just because society would expect you to, always make the best decision for yourself regardless of what anybody else makes of it. You’ll be grateful you did.”

Sometimes all it takes is one listen to a song, and you are instantly hooked . This was definitely the case when we heard “Anything” from The Last Mile.

With the release of their second full length, ‘Holding On To Hope,’collectively released on Thousand islands Records and Pavones Records, The Last Mile are moving forward and intensifying their sound. The aesthetic of the record was designed and laid out by Stealworks a.k.a. John Yates, known for his genre defining work with bands such as Lifetime, Jawbreaker, Alkaline Trio, Bad Religion, Alternative Tentacles, and so much more.

Recorded in Vancouver by long-time collaborator, Jesse Gander (Brutus, Japandroids, DBS, Daggermouth) and mastered by Jason Livermore at The Blasting Room, these songs are a natural progression of the bands signature heartfelt songs, leaning in a more modern hardcore vein while still retaining their punk rock roots.

The first single, “Anything,” is a rallying call to help inspire those who are feeling lost or forgotten. There was a time when people believed that they could be anything they wanted, but that feeling is waning and people are feeling helpless. It’s time to believe in ourselves again. One thing that stands out to us listening to “Anything” from The Last Mile, is the next level musicianship from the band. We got literal goosebumps when we listened to the guitar work on “Anything “ it is simply breathtaking.

We absolutely love the style and vibe of Real Sickies, “Under A Plastic Bag” is an absolute gem.

Known for their relentless touring and infectious melodies, the band channels the spirit of punk’s golden age with a fresh and approachable modern twist. Even Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day has hailed Real Sickies as his favorite Canadian punk band, cementing their status as a standout act in the global punk scene.

Real Sickies, hold nothing back, as soon as we heard the opening track, “Under A Plastic Bag“ ( which is also the title track ) we knew we were about to experience a complete punk rock adrenaline rush.

Described as “the Teenage Bottlerocket of the Great White North” by The Punk Site, Real Sickies fuse the raw power of Ramones-core with melodic hooks that could just as easily resonate in packed punk venues as on alternative FM radio. Written between whirlwind international tours, late-night demo sessions, and chaotic live performances, Under a Plastic Bag is an album brimming with raw, high-energy anthems. Tracks like “Wild Imagination,” “Should Have Seen It Coming,” and “Triage” showcase the band’s knack for crafting catchy choruses and sharp songwriting, blending the simplicity of the Ramones with the wild edge of Teenage Head, the melodic urgency of the Buzzcocks, the quirky, off-kilter energy of Devo, and the brooding intensity of The Sound.

The recording process for Under a Plastic Bag was as intense as the themes the album explores. Engineered and produced by Joshua Wells (Autogramm, Lightning Dust), the album was recorded in Edmonton’s Riverdale Recorders during one of the city’s coldest winters. “I was brought in specifically to bring more of the post punk weirdo sound to this record,” said Wells of the sessions. “Josh flew in from Chicago and joined us in our Little Italy studio in Edmonton,” recalls frontman Ben Disaster. “We hunkered down with coffee and sandwiches, sometimes only sleeping five hours a night. It felt right—it was positive, freeing, and creative. We had a lot of songs and big ideas, but everything came together in that short, freezing stretch of time.” The studio itself became a character in the creative process. “We built a fort in the studio to keep warm, drank endless coffee, and powered through long nights,” Ben shares. “The cold and isolation somehow fueled the energy of the recordings. It was a weirdly perfect environment to make a record about chaos, resilience, and piecing things back together.” The result is an album that retains the band’s signature energy while pushing into new sonic territory.

Every song on “Under A Plastic Bag, is absolutely phenomenal, however the one track that stood out to us was , “Wild Imagination “, we love everything about this track . The sound and vibe on “Wild Imagination” is absolutely breathtaking. You can also check out the video for “Wild Imagination“

RXGhost returns in all their melodic glory with with “Anytime But Now,”a new 7″ single that explores the psychological territory between awareness and action. The Kansas City quartet’s latest offering examines the peculiar comfort found in self-destructive patterns, whether chemical or emotional – that space where you recognize something isn’t good for you but can’t seem to break away.

“Anytime But Now” from RXGhost, checks all the boxes of a true musical experience. A hauntingly and melodic track, “Anytime But Now” is good for the ears and the soul.

The track showcases the band’s ability to craft expansive soundscapes through the interplay of Jeremiah James and Josh Thomas’s guitars, anchored by the precise rhythm section of Justin Brooks on drums and Chris Smead on bass. Recorded by Thomas and mixed by Shiner’s Paul Malinowski at Massive Sound Studios, the song weaves atmospheric textures through subtly shifting time signatures and unconventional structures. The accompanying video, directed by Brodie Rush and filmed in the band’s basement recording space, captures the intimate energy of their creative process while adding his distinct visual perspective

The single is backed with “Undersaid,” a more subdued B-side that offers a balancing counterpoint. Where “Anytime But Now” builds into post-rock chaos, “Undersaid” offers a more minimal, atmospheric companion piece.

The physical release is a handmade, numbered edition of 77 copies, cut on a vintage mono Presto 1D lathe head from a 1950s radio station. The records are cut at Celery Wolf Records, where each groove is embossed in real-time onto the record, making every copy uniquely different from the next. Soren Hansen Crafts Beautiful Stripped Down Version Of “Dream That I Die”

Soren Hansen, has taken a well crafted song , “Dream That I Die (Stripped )” and created a beautiful stripped down version that is absolutely stunning.

Now calling Nashville home, he’s channeling his creative energy into a deeply personal musical evolution. After introducing his self-titled album in 2024, Søren is set to release a new EP this spring, featuring raw, intimate acoustic versions of five standout tracks. Among them is his latest single, “Dream That I Die (Stripped)”—a hauntingly beautiful reimagining that showcases his artistry in a whole new light.The song captures the internal struggle of anxious thoughts, but with an underlying message of catharsis and self-expression.

Søren says, “This is the last of the stripped-down versions from my record! I loved playing and singing this one, and I like how the lyrics stand out when exposed to theirbare bones. The track is the latest to be taken from her sumptuous forthcoming new album The Sewing Room, set for release on April 25th, 2025 via Mary Yelling Records, with Danny Cross doubling as bassist and the album’s mixing engineer, and mastering by Brock Macfarlane at CPS Mastering.

Commenting on the single, Reznek says: “‘The Centre’ is built around a relentless repetition, mirroring the cycles of influence I felt growing up. It explores the long shadow of certain family ties and the realisation that I don’t have to stay caught in their pull.”

Reznek has also today announced a run of September 2025 UK headline tour dates with support from Martha St. Arthur.

We were absolutely captivated by the powerful performance from , This Will Destroy Your Ears, we were literally hanging on every note/word

The session comes ahead of the official announcement of a new album due for release in 2025, with further details to be revealed over the coming months

‘I WANT TO WRITE A GOOD SONG’ is taken from the band’s second album Everybody Knows Mickey, released in 2022 on respected French label À Tant Rêver Du Roi (FR), Cowboy À La Mode (FR) and Brutalist Records (UK).

The album was produced and recorded by Henri D’Armancourt and TWDYE at pARPAINg, Angresse, mixed by Alex Greaves at Nave Studio, Leeds, and mastered by Carl Saff at Saff Mastering, Chicago.

Conceptually, ‘I WANT TO WRITE A GOOD SONG’ is built around a series of song titles the band would have liked to have written, including 31 influences from the Pixies‘ ‘Debaser‘ to the Talking Heads‘ ‘Psycho Killer‘, not forgetting Johnny Cash‘s ‘Man in Black‘, The Murder Capital‘s ‘Green & Blue’ and IDLES‘ fabulous ‘Colossus‘—a noisy anthem to the artists TWDYE love so much.

Filmed by Loula Productions (already responsible for the group’s excellent ‘Coffin For Two’ video on a fishing boat) at the Black Flag in Seignosse in the middle of winter, this live session was conceived as an obvious counterpoint to the exercise. The trio had fun simulating an audition organised by the bar to find a house band for the coming summer, finding themselves in front of a meagre five people who are less than enthused (the zooms on the faces of the protagonists speak for themselves…) while they hammer through the single as if nothing had happened.

If you want to see the band live with more than five people in the room, you can choose between the two French dates in March, or wait until the band announce their Autumn 2025 UK tour dates later this year. 

This Will Destroy Your Ears, is a band that you need to pay attention to. We can’t wait to see what they do next.

Big Guitars, Big Drums, records that simultaneously sounded raw & massive on the radio, big hooky pop songs played loosely & dangerously. That’s the sound I wanted to convey on this album, and “Where Did You Go?” perfectly captures that’

The song was produced in-house at their DIY home studio and mastered by Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering (PJ Harvey, XTC, Big Special), and was inspired “by the film Boogie Nights and all of the deranged antics that went on behind the glitz and the glamour of the 70’s adult entertainment industry”

Alongside the single, Oswald Slain are excited to announce that they’ll be embarking on their first tour of the UK, commencing April 17th 2025 at Newcastle’s Trillians Bar to celebrate the release of their debut EP.

The Promised End will enter the studio to record the follow up LP  to 2024’s “For The Buried And The Broken” on April 18th. In November of this year, the band will embark on a tour of mainland Europe

2024 was a banner year for Boston hardcore outfit The Promised End. In February the band released their debut full length record “For The Buried And The Broken” on Sound Investment Records (US) and Gunner Records (Germany) and received critical praise for its energy,authenticity and thoughtful lyrical content.

In August/September of 2024 the band embarked on their maiden tour of Europe where they played 16 dates in Germany and Poland. Returning home the band was nominated for a 2024 Boston Music Award where they were in the company of such nominees as Converge, The Dropkick Murphys and Fiddlehead. The band has been busy writing their sophomore album

We can’t wait for more music from The Promise End, in the meantime we will keep “A Long Shadow” on repeat.

We were absolutely moved by the latest single and video , “Selfish”, from, Singer, songwriter, and producer, Daniel Arison. “Selfish” , holds a special place for Daniel, as it was the first song written for his upcoming album and became the thematic foundation for the entire project.

Daniel recalled the pivotal moment that inspired the song during a recent studio session with his producer, Larzz. “I walked into the session and knew exactly what I wanted to write,” Daniel explained. “I told Larzz the story behind the title: one day, Ihad a huge blowout with one of my friends. He came to me and yelled at me for an hour and a half, accusing me of being self-involved—never calling, never asking howhe was, never making the effort. In the moment, I felt really defensive and denied everything he said. But a few days later, I sat with myself and thought, ‘Maybe you’reright. Maybe I am selfish.’”

This moment of self-awareness became a turning point not only in Daniel’s personal life but also in his creative process. He channeled the complex emotions ofdefensiveness, sadness, and eventual acceptance into the song. “It was a weird moment of realization and acceptance of who I was in that moment—a human being capable of making mistakes,” Daniel shared. “The friendship wasn’t the same after that, but writing ‘Selfish’ felt like a huge relief. It was like saying out loud what I had beenafraid to admit, and that honesty became the core of the album’s direction.”

“Selfish” , from Daniel Arison , shines , because it a song that touches your heart and soul. We felt a definite, connection with the well thought out words and melody, Daniel Arison , is a master storyteller and songwriter and we can’t wait to see what he does next.

The music video, was filmed at the historic Bellforge Arts Center in Massachusetts.

Spear and longtime collaborator Will Hall shot “The Number One Song In Heaven” video at Bellforge Arts Center in Medfield, the historic site of the former Medfield State Hospital that is now a blossoming creative arts hub. 

“My two aesthetic touchstones for that were the black and white scenes from the Powell & Pressburger movie A Matter of Life And Death, and the bathtub Mary statues you see in suburban homes throughout the commonwealth,” Spear says with a laugh. “I wanted something both otherworldly and old, and I think the weathered bricks and the pastoral shots of cloudy skies and open fields captured that feeling!”

Cortney Dixon, brings an addictive and mesmerizing melody on her latest single, “You Look Naked” and we absolutely love it .

Cortney Dixon is an artist, producer, songwriter and guitarist from the coastal town of South Shields in the North of England, who has a style and vibe that we can’t help but gravitate to.

Cortney has written and produced a slick 6 track EP, titled ‘354’, which deftly blends her down to earth punky DIY roots with a well crafted aspirational pop glamour, the first single ‘You Look Good Naked’ drops today, ( February 12th)

You Look Good Naked’, is an honest and authentic gem, written following an unplanned visit to a strip club on a week night. 

Cortney explains further:

‘I wrote this song after spending a Tuesday night in a strip club in Newcastle. Me and my best friend Sarah were out and the only place left open was the strip club, so we went to the strip club for the first time. We had always been curious about what stripping was all about and wished I had the confidence to try it, so this trip felt like research.

I got talking to one of the girls working that night. She was called Daisy and was very beautiful. She looked like a Pixie. She told me all about how much she loved her job and found it very empowering. I got a dance off Daisy. Summing up exactly how it made me feel and quoting the song ‘I can’t decide if I wanna be you, or if it’s that I really want to kiss you’. I love the idea of telling someone how amazing they look Naked. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful and desired in their own skin. ‘OMG YOU LOOK GOOD NAKED’!’

Carefully crafted, the EP out on Friday 26th September(complete with an artfully inspired limited run of vinyl records) cuts with ease through garage rock, fuzzy indie and fizzy pop with a hook filled charm and high energy verve.

“This whole EP was a very DIY process. ‘You Look Good Naked’ was recorded in my studio in Newcastle, engineered by my best friend, Rob, produced by me and mixed by me and Rob in his living room. It was my mission to find the scrappiest guitar sound possible, inspired by my favourite punk records of the 70’s. I wanted to combine this sound with a fun pop sensibility.”

Following up on an epic 2024 which saw the band appear alongside exciting new talent such as Lake Malice, Orchards and Love Rarely, self-proclaimed ‘losercore’ quartet Hamartia have released their sensational brand new single, ‘Bloom’ – with a debut headline show slated for February 12th at Cardiff’s Tiny Rebel.

‘Bloom’ is an anti-Valentine’s anthem about coming to terms with the fact that not only has your relationship has run its course, but you’ve lost yourself in the process. It’s about realising that it’s better to be alone and totally free to be yourself, than it is to feel restricted, stuck and suffocated in a relationship – and using that freedom to try and reclaim what’s left of yourself.

Vocalist Sophie Smith said “Bloom is another track that feels to us like a three-minute long post-breakup therapy session. We’ve all been in a position where we’ve changed who we are for somebody in the hopes that it ‘fixes’ something – but in reality, it does the opposite.”

Hamartia’s heart-on-sleeve brand of ‘trauma dumping’ has always set them apart from the rest of the scene – connecting quickly with a rapidly-growing, dedicated fanbase. The band has been labelled as one of Noizze’s Top 20 Artists Set to Conquer 2025, thanks to their unwavering desire to be true to themselves at every opportunity in their songwriting and their live shows – which at times could be mistaken for group therapy sessions.

Sophie continues, “This song is our opportunity to lay all of our feelings bare, work through them and hopefully come out the other side with a new found appreciation for being true to ourselves, and putting ourselves first for once. You’re more than your worst boyfriend.”

Sam shares, shares, “The song was written from a moment. I had spent most of the year on the road, and had just made it back to Nashville from a long run of shows when I heard that there had been a shooting near my house. I was home alone all day after an amazing trip, visiting places that felt so different from where I had grown up in NH, and I started strumming. The song just flowed from there, and I think that’s where the simple, direct nature of the lyrics and message came from – just trying to be in the moment and capture my feelings in a very divided world.”

“What a Little Love Can Do” is the leading single off of his forthcoming album “So Much I Still Don’t See” Sam comments , “It is based around my touring over the past four years – driving 45,000 miles per year, meeting so many people from so many different backgrounds and perspectives than me, a guy in his 20’s from New Hampshire,”

The band adds, “In the video, we’re not depicted with our figurative knives out, battling demons. Rather, the “In The Throes” video was meant to show our fans that we’ve been ‘in the throes’ of making this music together for decades now, working out our artistic impulses and creativity dating back to the late ‘90s. It’s a kind of then-and-now showcase of where we started as a band and where we are today. Our buddy Alaric from Gearly Beloved Productions helped us make this video, shooting the band performing the song live at a show we played with Chaser in Salt Lake City, juxtaposed with a host of old VHS clips we had digitized from the ‘90s and ‘00s. This was the third time we’ve worked with Alaric on a music video and it was a blast, as always.”

Bristol-based alt-indie quartet Adult Leisure artfully deliver a stunning visual for “Kiss Me Like You Miss Here “

The stunning new music video was filmed by the band themselves, on their phones, in its entirety, keeping true to the track’s subject matter, highlighting the everyday anxieties for someone living on the breadline.

Discussing what they hoped to achieve with the music video, drummer Nathan Searle says, “To reflect the harsh reality of the cost of living crisis in the UK, we wanted this video to feel simple and genuine. A polished production wouldn’t have felt appropriate for the story we wanted to tell. Instead, we filmed the entire video ourselves, working with what we had and keeping things as straightforward as possible. This approach highlights how creativity and resourcefulness often emerge from limitation. It’s a reminder that art doesn’t need to be extravagant to be powerful, it just needs to be honest.”

Gretchen Shae & The Middle 8 come out absolutely blazing on “Inside A Dream” The trio ( Gretchen Shae : Guitar and Vocals, Ronan Fahy: Lead Guitar and Nick Mejia : Drums/ creative designer) are sonically and melodically in sync as they charge into the opening track “Heroes Shouldn’t Be Villains,” . “Heroes Shouldn’t Be Villains,” expands their creative dynamism far beyond genre limitations. Part of that is the result of the set-in chemistry of Gretchen Shae & The Middle Eight’s now-established lineup: Vocalist, guitarist, and lyricist Shae alongside lead guitarist Ronan Fahy and drummer and creative designer Nick Mehos, all collaborating as songwriters and contributors. The other part is the source material; when Shae and the boys stir the emotional weight of personal loss into the band’s rock and roll expression, what comes out on the other side is purely an emotive extension of themselves.

“The songs are really just a response to loss in a number of ways, whether it is a friend, family, or a loved one,” Shae admits.

The intoxicating drum beat that is the lead in for the title track “Inside A Dream “, gives way to flawless vocals coupled with a memorable melody. Gretchen Shae & The Middle Eight are without question a band who is on top of their game on “Inside A Dream “

Produced by and recorded with Roger Lavallee at Wachusett Recording in Princeton, MA,  Inside A Dream is the band’s first new music since last fall’s “Safehouse” single. Over its 12-minute runtime, the record brazenly extends the realm of loss through added layers of grief, frustration, and stigmatization of mental health. The lyrical themes cascade over heavy riffs and a thunderous backbeat, as jangly and echoing guitarwork exchanges freely with Shae’s introspective and lived-in wordplay.

The closing track, “Little Armies “ features some mesmerizing drumming that really adds another dimension to the track. The vocals on “Little Armies “ have this haunting quality that gives the track a little mystery.

We recently had the unbelievable opportunity to check out the new video for “Grind” from Mumbai based metal band Zygnema and… it is freaking amazing.

So full disclosure… we had never heard of zygnema, before we checked them out today ( boy were we missing out ! These guys freaking rock)

“Grind”, taken from their recent five-track EP ‘Iconic’, blends traditional Indian musical elements with modern groove metal, and centres itself around the band’s pride in their city and in their people. 

You can see and feel the incredible energy that Zygnema brings with their music and it is absolutely breathtaking. We were so taken while watching the video for “Grind”, that the hair on the back of our neck stood up.

Since the band formed in 2008, they’ve released two full length albums, leading them to win multiple awards at 2011, 2014 and 2016’s Rolling Stone Metal Awards, and have played slots at esteemed festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Inferno Metal Fest and they’ve headlined and co-headlined major festivals across India alongside bands such as Megadeath, Tesseract, Fear Factory, Behemoth, In Flames, Opeth and others.

Discussing the lyrical themes behind the track, the band state, “We are proud of the city that we live in. It has made us who we are. The city is what it is because of the people and their hustle and GRIND to live a good life despite the challenges they’re faced with. This is what inspired us to write and dedicate this song to the city and to the amazing people of this city.”

The accompanying music video highlights the day to day grind it takes to live in the hustling, bustling city of Mumbai. Discussing what they hoped to achieve with the video, the band say, “The People of Mumbai are resilient, and are having fun grinding it out in their day to day lives. The grind of Mumbai spares no one. It doesn’t matter what strata or class you belong to; Nobody is complaining. At the end of the day, they have fun and celebrate their achievements. That’s what we want to showcase through our music video.”

We absolutely love the vibe and feel of “Stand So Close” from Pretty Jane . With theatrical vocals and playful synths, it captures the thrill and anxiety of unrequited love. The Philadelphia alternative and dream-pop duo teams with English filmmaker and video artist Sapphire Goss to bring this expression fully to the screen through a kaleidoscopic and vibrant new video for “Your Small Army.”

Your Small Army” rekindles Soft Skies Inc’s shimmering luminosity, and plays with our notions of chromesthesia as Goss‘ visuals come to kaleidoscopic life. The video finds the Brothers Rex, known for their work in Boston’s ‘90s space rock band Lockgroove, dipping into their musical vault to develop a visual accompaniment to the lush and bittersweet track, bringing back into focus an exploration of a faded relationship and the mental gymnastics we endure to ignore its reality. 

“I always want people to find their own meaning in the songs, so I don’t want to go too in-depth, but to me this is a relationship song,” Ryan Rex admits. “It’s about that point in a relationship where some of the luster has worn off, and you know you are probably not with the right person, but you’re still holding on to that heady and magical feeling of attraction and connection that brought you together in the first place, all while not wanting to admit the truth that things are starting to disintegrate.” 

The visual for “Your Small Army” from Soft Skies Inc. is a lush and dream like experience that, we absolutely couldn’t not take our eyes off of. The collaboration between the brothers Rex and Sapphire Goss is a stroke of artistic genius.

“Your Small Army” was written and arranged by the brothers, with Ryan Rex on vocals, guitar, bass guitar, and keyboards; and Martin Rex on drums, percussion, backing vocals, and keyboards. It was recorded by Chris McLaughlin at 1867 Recording Studio in Boston, co-produced by the trio, and mastered by Heba Kadry at Timeless Mastering in Brooklyn.

New Single and New Video For “Replace It All” Is Out Now

We recently had the opportunity to check out the new single “Replace It All” from indie rock band The Backfires and we absolutely love it . So we got a double dose of good news from The Backfires , debut album “This Is Not An Exit” will be released on January 24th 2025 . New single “Replace It All “  is the third single that the band has released that will be featured on This Is Not An Exit.  The two other previously released singles are “Brighter Lights” and “Dressed For a Funeral.”

The  band says, “’Replace It All’” is about surrendering yourself to someone else and letting them save you from your past. It’s how it feels to be lost at the end of the world, caught in between love and fear, needing to be rescued”

The band continues about the music video saying “Sometimes the road to get to where you want is long and winding, and even when you’re close enough to see it, you’ve still got a ways to go. The video for ‘Replace It All’ nods to the journey of our band. Now we’re in New York, and we’re putting out our first record. It’s been a long while, but we’re just getting started.”

There is something absolutely divine about Andy Stochansky’s new single “God’s Tree” It’s a no frills song that is brimming with honesty and authenticity. We fell instantly for its simple yet memorable melody . Andy Stochansky who has work with Ani Difranco and The Goo Goo Dolls has an infectious sound that is impossible to resist.

The intimate and natural approach that is present on “God’s Tree,takes center stage on his upcoming album Poetry Of Birds [ENCI Records]. The title effectively speaks to the overarching theme.

We are going to come right and say it we have always loved the sound and vibe of Parlour Bells, “Slasher Movie Weather” brings our love and appreciation to a whole new level.

The epic “Slasher Movie Weather” from Parlour Bells (Goddamn Glenn (vocals), Allison Sigrist (keys), Mike Leggio (bass), Tony Porter (drums) and Michael J Johnson (guitar). is the second single from from their new EP To Be Or Not To Behave and it arrives
packaged with a short horror film / music video written and directed by singer Goddamn Glenn and his wife and creative partner, burlesque performer Honey Pie.

Both the song and video are a nostalgic homage to the 1980s slasher movie aesthetic.
“One of my guilty pleasures on a sweltering summer night is sitting in my office with the AC cranked and watching some of the lousiest, cheesiest slasher movies from the 80s,” says Glenn of his inspiration for the song and video.

When asked about how women are presented in many of the slasher films of the 80s, Honey Pie says, “Growing up on those movies made me who I am today, where I want to be scantily clad and I want to see other women scantily clad. I always wanted to be the girl in the 80s music video and in the horror movies, and now I get to be both.”
And since no summer slasher movie is complete without a group of skimpily-clad campers, Honey Pie suggested that they gather some of her good friends and dance troupe members to take on these roles.

Of the dancers, Glenn adds, “You get so much more than performances from them. They are like this creative brain trust constantly thinking on their feet and so quick to provide a creative solution. They know so much about set and prop design, makeup, movement. I’m so lucky to have such fun and talented people in my life. This video would be nothing without them.”

Performing in the video alongside Honey Pie are dancers Maggie Maraschino, Tracey “Muthafuckin” Vaughan, Abby Normal and Pearl Buttons. Maraschino and Vaughan were also responsible for all of the special effects, gory prosthetics and makeup. Also featured in the video is local drummer Mark Goveia playing the hitchhiker. Goddamn Glenn also delivers his vocal performance bloodied and face down in the dirt.

People ask us all the time about the music scene and artist community in Boston. We think both the song (Which is in our opinion a contender for song of the year ) and video are a perfect example of how special and close knit the Boston Music and Art scene is .

Delta Sleep, renowned for their innovative sound and poignant lyrics, have unveiled the music video for the single “Figure In The Dark.”

The clip was directed by the band’s singer and guitarist, Devin Yüceil, who is an accomplished filmmaker and Emmy Award nominee. Yüceil says, “Expanding on themes from the song about escapism while facing the darkness of the world. Lane, our protagonist, is paralysed by his dissociation and unable to engage with the world around him. The anxiety reaches a boiling point, and Lane has no choice but to face his own demons.

The video was shot on a day off from tour, in the countryside of West Virginia and it involved renting a hand cranked fork lift from a local hardware store.”

The UK band’s recently announced fourth studio album, Blue Garden, will be released on October 11through the band’s own imprint Sofa Boy Records in partnership with Wax Bodega.

There is this real authentic energy around “Pastel Southwestern “ from Desert Mambas . The incredibly talented Bailey Moses has created an absolute indie masterpiece and we can’t get enough of it.

The dusty old time country/Americana vibe on “Pastel Southwestern “ is one of the most refreshing EP’s we have heard in quite some time. Every song is perfectly crafted and executed. From note one on the intro, all the way through to “the Average” we laughed, sang our hearts out and appreciated the overall greatness of “Pastel Southwestern “ from Desert Mambas .

The latest effort demonstrates just how comfortable Moses has gotten in their own shoes, gracefully holding a delicate balance between the intensity of being alive and the George Costanza of it all. “I’m not much of a ladies man / though I try, and I try, and I try / I’m much more a mustard stain on your shirt ‘Hey man your zipper’s down’ / ‘You should really check your fly,’” Moses croons before launching into the song’s soon-to-be-iconic chorus: “I’m like a hot George Costanza / I’m like, so hot you can’t stand it.” 

In Pastel Southwestern, Desert Mambas brings brutal honesty to the forefront, poetically describing everything from the trials and tribulations of the trans experience to the alluring grip of trash TV. Set to the melodic and meditative cadence that Moses is becoming known for, this release showcases their range beautifully, from the soft, spacey twang of their guitar to the intricately woven pedal steel.  And… we love every minute of it .

“I’m so proud of this EP,” said Moses. “I’m not a person who likes to take myself too seriously… but I also absolutely take myself very seriously. These songs capture so much of the seriousness and silliness I love about music simultaneously.”

“Cry With Me” is a beautifully crafted song that Stephanie Schneiderman delivers a jaw dropping flawless vocal performance. We were literally hanging on every word and note .

Schneiderman wrote, produced, and performed her new single “Cry With Me” as an invitation to stay tender during divisive and painful times as we navigate what’s happening in the world around us. Though it’s a song meant for all, the collective grief and cry for compassion center on the battles women fight every day. Featuring Jenny Conlee (The Decemberists, accordion), Ji Tanzer (Blue Cranes, drums), Tony Furtado (banjo and baritone ukelele) and Keith Brush (Blue Cranes, upright bass), — the impressive collection of musicians composes a compelling sonic atmosphere rife with rage, hope, and uncertainty. The power lies in the melody, somber tone, and unique lyrical perspective. The haunting accordion surges alongside Schneiderman’s effecting vocals, instilling a sense of pain that only truly gifted vocalists possess.

The striking melodies within “Cry With Me” have a beautiful middle eastern feel that give the song an extra dimension.

The accompanying music video was produced and crafted with a diverse crew and an all female cast, helmed by powerhouse Portland director/editor/creatorAlicia J. Rose – known for her music video work (First Aid Kit, Cake, Laura Gibson, The Softies and many others.) She recently won both the Narrative Audience Award at the 2021 Ashland Independent Film Festival and the Best New Directors Award at the 2021 Port Townsend Film Festival with her feature directorial debut “A Kaddish for Bernie Madoff.” The season finale of her 2017 web series “The Benefits of Gusbandry” was hailed as a “delirious masterpiece” by The New York Times.

The video, shot at the vast and gritty decommissioned Zidell Shipyards, embodies grief and humanity spanning seven decades of life, utilizing the incredible talents of five female dancers who beautifully morph into the various stages of grief through dance. You can check out the video below

We are not going to hide our feelings on this one…. We recently had a chance to check out the new single “Yours Sincerely “ from Bristol (UK) indie-rock four-piece The Bedside Morale. We were instantly enthralled when we heard their debut single “Safeword” our appreciation for the band grew 10 fold with their follow up single “ Bitter Things”… Now with their latest single “Yours Sincerely “ we can confidently say we have developed a full on music crush for The Bedside Morale . I mean we’re all friends here right ? How can you not listen to the opening of “Yours Sincerely and not picture it placed in a summer blockbuster movie.

The Bedside Morale (Tim Kazer – Lead vocals, guitar, Charlie Dowzell – Lead guitar, Kynan Scott – Bass and Aden Dennis – Drums, Percussion) are a brilliantly assembled music making machine who , have been music together since 2014.

Discussing the single Kazer explains:  “Lyrically Yours Sincerely was a really tough song to write. Kynan had come in with the song framework and that beautiful bass line. It felt sad and quiet to me, dejected I guess, and I knew what I wanted to write about, I just had no idea how to do it. I think like a lot of people I dealt with the trauma I had faced by detaching myself from it. I stood in the rafters so to speak. I could say the words and tell people what happened but in some way I was pretending that wasn’t me. But that’s not what felt right for this song. I wanted the song to be in conversation with that person, a chance, albeit not face to face, to say all the things I never knew enough to. So I had to force myself to really feel it. I tried not to shy away from putting it to paper, or wrap it up in clever wordplay, which was hard because it meant accepting the reality of it and how little control I had. There are still some lines in this song that, if I spend too long focussing on, utterly break me. So that’s Yours Sincerely. A song about trying to love, in spite of all the turmoil.”

Their upcoming debut EP ‘Still Life’, produced and mixed at Stage 2 Studios with Josh Gallop (Mother Vulture, Krooked Tongue, Phoxjaw), is a four-track snapshot in time of where the band were at creatively, at the beginning of their new musical journey.

“The Spirit of Massachusetts Avenue” is the explosive lead single to the acclaimed band’s new album, Something Like A War, set for release on July 26.

Like many who travel up and down “Mass. Ave.,” as it’s known by locals, Already Dead’s vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Dan Cummings was struck by the differences from one part of the city versus the other while the union pipefitter was working a Cambridge job in 2017. 

“The song is an observation that just one road can be two separate worlds caused by social structures and allocations of resources,” Cummings says. “And it delivers a very deliberate ‘#!$& you’ to those who have the power to change things in one of these worlds for the better, but choose not to.”

Melodic New York punk band Such Gold is thrilled to announce their signing with Mutant League Records.

Today (June 13th ) they are also releasing their new single, “Talk Loud ,” which is now streaming on all digital platforms. This marks the band’s first new music since 2017, signaling a powerful return to the scene.

“Talk Loud” was produced by Such Gold’s bassist Jon Markson at The Animal Farm (The Story So Far, Drug Church). The single is accompanied by a high-energy music video produced by Alex Zarek.

Chloe Mayse Delivers Stunning New Single and Video “High School”

We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the new pride month single and video “High School” from Toronto queer alt-pop singer-songwriter Chloe Mayse.

In 2014, she won a singing competition with her YouTube video submission, to sing backup for Tegan and Sara at the Juno Awards. This was a huge highlight in her life because Tegan and Sara are queer musicians that Chloe has always looked up to and they have influenced her style of music that she creates.

Chloe started singing at age 2 and picked up the guitar at the age of 10. She also plays piano, ukulele, and bass guitar. Chloe wrote her first song at 15 and the process of writing songs helped her figure out who she really was and how she identifies her sexuality.

As a teenager, she struggled with an undiagnosed mental health disorder and has mentioned that music saved her life. Chloe is a strong advocate for the queer community in Toronto and wants to bring awareness towards mental health issues that everyone may struggle with at some point in their life. 

We were absolutely taken by the otherworldly vocal performance by Chloe Mayse,on “High School” .

Here’s what she had to say about it: “High School “ is based on my experience of going to an all-girls catholic school. It’s my ‘coming out’ song- the one I wish I could have released at fifteen. I was closeted when it came to my sexuality, and wasn’t confident enough to tell my friend that I was in love with her. I had these intense feelings and at the same time was trying so hard to keep it all a secret from everyone. The music video shows what I was picturing in my mind- writing lyrics, thinking about this friend who I was completely in love with and how I would have wanted our interactions to go if I had been out in high school

Jehry Robinson Absolutely Soars With New Single & Video – “Pilot”

We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the new single and video “Pilot” from Strange Music artist Jehry Robinson.

From note one “Pilot” from Jehry Robinson, you can sense immediately that you are in for an absolute gem. We love the style and sound of Jehry Robinson, it is exactly what is needed in today’s somewhat mundane musical landscape.

On the track, nimbly plucked guitar gives way to a head-nodding beat kickstarted by simmering cymbals. Jehry alternates between hummable melodies and airtight rhymes on the verses. However, his vocals really take flight on the chantable chorus, “I think we’re going down, so I went to see the pilot cause I been getting tired, let’s turn this plane around.” In the accompanying visual, Jehry assumes the multiple roles of passengers on a commercial flight, breaking through the turbulence as our hero confronts the man at the wheel (who just so happens to be him).

About “Pilot,” he commented, “It’s about being the pilot of your own life and you can always turn it around. You’re in control to follow your destiny.” That’s exactly what he’s doing…

“Pilot”, notably arrives on the heels of his 2023 album, Drink More Water. The latter has already amassed over 2 million streams and counting. Meanwhile, it earned widespread critical acclaim. 

We are all in on “Pilot”. and we think Jehry Robinson is just getting warmed up. We can’t wait to see what he does next .

We started The Whole Kameese back in 2020 as a way to keep busy during the pandemic. We are so lucky to have worked with so many wonderful artists, promoters and other music professionals. We were also so blessed to be able to share so much amazing music . We have made the difficult decision to put the blog on the back burner. At this time we need to focus on other important matters. We do not know how long we will be away but, we will return. We thank all of you for your support

Opening with a catchy distorted guitar riff, “Wasted Youth” explodes into a thrilling, full tilt rock and roll anthem. It’s the sort of song you can’t help but scream along to. Lyrically, “Wasted Youth” also showcases Chloe at her most raw and vulnerable as she candidly opens up about the 3 months she spent at a wilderness treatment program when she was 16. 

This song is about my experience going through that program, but it’s also a song that brings light to the fact that if I hadn’t been sent there, I wouldn’t be where I am now,” she says. “Without it, I wouldn’t be able to share my story and open the door for others to share their stories.”

Chloe Star is a Persian and Indigenous singer, songwriter, visual artist, and tribal advocate. Growing up she split her time between Los Angeles and her family’s reservation in San Bernardino. With a childhood that was chaotic and often unstable, she found solace in journaling and writing poetry. She taught herself to play piano and guitar and soon started transforming her prose into lyrics.

The video was filmed filmed at Stereo Jack’s Records in Somerville and Nicole Tammaro’s legendary basement.

We love everything about both the video and single for “Op-Operator “ The Shang Hi Los are world class musicians with a world class sound. And… now a world class video
