We recently got our spook on with three killer tunes from three killer bands . First we checked out New York glam-punk rockers, Bad Mary and their otherworldly cover of “Time Warp” from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. We were immediately enthralled with Bad Mary’s drop dead perfect cover of “Time Warp”, they honored the original version but at the same time made it all their own . You can listen to “Time Warp” Here – Bravo
The next spooktacular tune we checked out was “Vampire” from Teen Idle. We absolutely love the style and sound of Teen Idle . Sara Abdelbarry , who is the musical brilliance behind Teen Idle, has crafted a delightful dark musical masterpiece that we absolutely love. You can listen to “Vampire” Here

Life sucks, but ALTARBOY is enjoying the ride with their new single “Rave From The Grave,” out now via Crusty Wrapper Records.
We recently had the spook-tacular opportunity to check out the new video and single, “Rave From The Grave” from Philadelphia, punk band, ALTARBOY, via Crusty Wrapper Records. You can listen to “Rave From The Grave” on Spotify Here, Apple Music Here
You can also watch the video for “Rave From The Grave” below
If you want to know why we live and breathe music…… look no further than Philadelphia based punks, ALTARBOY. They have a sound , style and vibe that could literally wake the dead . If you want more proof than check out their ghoulishly new single and video “Rave From The Grave”
Formed in 2024, ALTARBOY has already carved out a reputation for their high-energy shows, horror-inspired imagery, and campy matching uniforms. The lineup features Sean Flanagan (bass/vocals), Ben Harkins (guitar), Adam Kelly (guitar), and Nick Held (drums). Their sound blends ferocious punk urgency with undeniable hooks, making their music as addictive as it is aggressive.
“We love all of our music videos for different reasons, it’s hard to pick a favorite. But this one was by far the most fun we had shooting,”the band shares.
It’s a ‘zombie party,’ but that’s exactly what it was behind the scenes — just a party. Everyone in the video are our closest friends and we just told them to drink and dance. We hope the video is as fun to watch as it was for us to make. Our friend, Nicky Fexx, directed the whole thing and it was an absolute blast. Life sucks. The world sucks. We’re going to party anyway.”
After years of self-releasing FRND CRCL material, Zac Johnson officially launched Crusty Wrapper Records in 2025. He says ALTARBOY embodies the label’s vision of community and artist development:
“If there’s anything I believe in, it’s artist development. With FRND CRCL, we learned how to push ourselves as both a band and a business. When I first met the guys from ALTARBOY at a show in Lansdale, PA last winter, I instantly fell in love with their sound. They’ve got the music, the energy, and the look. I couldn’t be more excited to be working with them.”
So stop what you are doing and get your zombie on with “Rave From The Grave” from ALTARBOY
Some bands have such a special sound that it is almost indescribable. We feel beyond blessed to check out Long Island, Ny based and a Whole Kameese favorite, punk duo Bitters and Distractions and their sharp and impressive new single, “The Threads” via Berkeley-based independent label Sell The Heart Records.
You can listen to “The Threads” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here
The energy from Long Island acoustic punk duo, Bitters and Distractions ( Jeremy Quitko and Travis Johnides) is more electrifying and vibrant than a thousand piece marching band . As soon as we heard the first chord on “The Threads “ we instantly started singing along and quickly grabbed a pint of our favorite brew.
While the instrumentation may be minimal, the emotional weight is anything but. Punk as Folk described their sound as: “This is punk proper, just done with acoustic guitars.”
guitars.”
“The Threads” captures the tension between striving for a meaningful future and grappling with the fleeting nature of time. The lyrics reflect resilience—“spread our wings and stretch our legs”—while also embracing nostalgia and the imperfections of life, summed up in the refrain: “that’s why we can’t have nice things.” (best freaking line ever)
The duo explains:
“The song is a bittersweet toast to the journey, the struggles, and the moments that define us. It’s about holding onto hope while acknowledging the scars along the way.”
Recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered entirely in the duo’s homes, “The Threads” also features guest backing vocals by Natalia Neal, a former student of Jeremy’s.
Bitters and Distractions began as Jeremy’s personal songwriting outlet, drawing from his formative years in Colorado and the loss of a close friend. The project evolved when Travis began composing music to accompany Jeremy’s words, sparking a creative partnership that resonated with listeners and transformed the duo into a fully realized band.
We fell in love with Bitters and Distractions, the first time we heard them…. And “The Threads” hasn’t changed that one bit.
November Tour with Bowling For Soup and Don’t Panic
We recently had the spectacular opportunity to check the magnificent cover of “You Don’t OwnMe” via Wicked Cool Records, from beloved punk rock power trio The Dollyrots
The mark of a great cover , is when the band stays true to original while at the same time adding their own vibe . The Dollyrots , certainly accomplished this with “You Don’t Own Me”
At a time when empowerment anthems are more needed than ever, the band is releasing a rousing, punked-up cover of Lesley Gore’s feminist classic “You Don’t Own Me.” The song was the idea of labelmate Brian Ray (Etta James, Paul McCartney), who co-produced and contributed guitar parts to the track.
Photo: Jen Rosenstein
The song is an anthem for female empowerment, about willing to be defiant in the face of something that’s just plain wrong. Sadly, it’s still just as timely as when Lesley sang it over 60 years ago,” shared singer/bassist Kelly Ogden.
With their signature mix of sugar-rush melodies, punk grit, and bubblegum sneer, The Dollyrots breathe new fire into Lesley Gore’s classic “You Don’t Own Me.” It’s part candy-coated chaos, part fist-in-the-air rebellion—hook-laden guitars collide with Kelly Ogden’s unmistakable voice, equal parts sweet and savage. More than a cover, it’s a technicolor punk anthem that channels the band’s playful heart and fearless bite—reminding us that freedom and fun can both be loud.
In addition, a limited-edition evergreen vinyl 7-inch single featuring the high-energy original track “Get On This Ride” and “You Don’t Own Me” is out now. The vinyl and an exclusive bundle—including the 7-inch, a t-shirt, and a sticker—are available exclusively at The Dollyrots Storeand on tour while supplies last.
Fronted by Kelly Ogden (bass/vocals) and Luis Cabezas (guitar/vocals), with Simon Hancock on drums, The Dollyrots continue to deliver their infectious blend of attitude, melody, and heart that has become their signature sound.

We recently had the stellar opportunity, to check out the new single, “American Farts”, from Michigan SKA Punk band, The Boy Detective, via Punkerton Records. You can listen to “American Farts” Here
You can watch the video below
As soon as we heard the first note of the new single, “American Farts”, from The Boy Detective, we were immediately captivated. The vibe and electrifying sound of “American Farts “ is enough to stop Rush Hour traffic.
Produced by Roger Lima (Less Than Jake) and mixed/mastered by Eric Taft (The Dangerous Summer, Cliffdiver, We Are The Union), “American Farts” is a blast of melody, humor, and heart — a classic ska-punk singalong tailor-made for road trips, basement shows, and bad days turned good. The song’s high-octane horns, shout-along chorus, and warm sense of humor make it an instant anthem for anyone who’s ever needed a musical pick-me-up.
“Sometimes you just want to take your partner out for a ride, crank up the stereo, roll down the windows and sing out your lungs. The little things, that’s all…” — Benny Capaul (vocals)
Following the success of 2024’s Art Theft, The Boy Detective return with their sophomore full-length Disco Lunch— a riotous, high-energy record that doubles down on their signature mix of ska-core grooves, punk urgency, and self-aware humor. From blistering horn lines to melodic hooks and lyrical absurdity, the band delivers an album that’s as infectious as it is heartfelt.
“When we say we threw everything and the kitchen sink in, we meant it. Disco Lunch is ten songs that span almost two decades. We’ve opened the vault, collected, and distributed these gems for you. So go ahead and take out a withdrawal on Disco Lunch—you’ll be thankful for the wait. Let’s boogie!” — Benny Capaul (vocals)
Band Shares Story of Near-Disaster on the Road; Announces Tour Dates with Calling All Captains, Violet Night, and Gutter King
We recently had the opportunity to check out the new single , “No Breaks”, via Mutant League Records, from, Vancouver , pop -punk heavyweights , Chief State. You can listen to “No Breaks” Here You can also check out the video for “No Breaks”
The excitement and energy generated by Chief State on their new single, “No Breaks “ is literally off the charts .
No Brakes”, a high-octane anthem born from one of the band’s scariest road experiences.
Frontman Fraser Simpson recalls the real-life inspiration:
“Summer 2022 we were sailing down the interstate heading from Houston, Texas, to Austin when all of a sudden the worst thing happened – no brakes. I was driving at the time and so to not create panic, I didn’t mention our predicament to the rest of the guys until I managed to grind the van to a halt with what brake fluid we had left. What happened next was a week of being stranded in Austin (s/o Rare Bloom for letting us crash) while we waited for an out of stock part to arrive to fix our van. The mechanic then said our vehicle was so rusted he wouldn’t advise driving 50 yards down the street, we cancelled shows, we ran out of money, we considered flying home. The poignant lyric “Nothing ever goes our way” repeats throughout the song because honestly, nothing has ever gone our way. But here we are, back again, doing the thing we love because we’re young and dumb and would like another excuse to get in a van and tour the continent. To quote another line from the song: “Nothing like a little bit of latent fear, of dying young and dumb without my loved ones near” – sign us up!”
No Brakes” was produced, engineered, and mixed by Tim Creviston(Spiritbox, Youth Fountain) and mastered by Stu McKillop (Midnight Peg, By A Thread) at Rain City Recorders, capturing the band’s signature mix of urgency, grit, and bittersweet honesty. Over the years, they’ve released acclaimed records, toured extensively across North America and beyond, and carved out a loyal global fanbase. With “No Brakes,”Chief State prove once again that they’re at the forefront of modern pop-punk—louder, sharper, and hungrier than ever.
Chief State will hit the road this October as direct support for Calling All Captains, with additional appearances by Violet Night and Gutter King on select nights:
We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the new single “Tourmaline” from All My Friends, via Moon Barn Records. We were absolutely floored , “Tourmaline “ freaking rocks !
All My Friends, is a one-woman wrecking ball of punk ferocity and undeniable hooks, led by LGBTQ songwriter Christina Picciano. Based out of Westchester County, New York.
She has been hard at work on the band’s upcoming full-length record. Along the way, she has left a trail of breadcrumbs, including the singles “Pennsylvania,” “Do You Want Me?” and the recently banned from TikTok Anti-Trump single “How Could You?” Now, Picciano is releasing her brand new queer rallying cry, “Tourmaline.”
Thomas Evans photo credit
With towering riffs and a call for all creeps to back-the-fuck-off, Picciano describes the song as “bubble gum grunge with bite — a fierce, queer anthem about reclaiming your energy from an ‘energy vampire.'” adding that “it’s a cathartic protection spell in song form.”
Christina Picciano, is a next level songwriter, who has created an absolute gem with , “Tourmaline “, that has a melody that resonates for days .

“Panic! Panic! Panic! , “Cutting Ties”, “Long Road Ahead” are all incredible songs that you simply can’t afford not to listen to.
We fell hopelessly in love with the memorable melodies that live beautifully on “The Hand That You’ve Been Dealt “

We recently had the stellar opportunity, to check out the new single, “MB Anthem ( The Market Basket Song) , via Rum Bar Records from long time Boston , based band, Stop Calling Me Frank. You can listen to the instantly iconic “MB ANTHEM ( The Market Basket Song) on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here
Those of us lucky enough to call New England home , can’t but help but feel a sense of pride when the subject of the iconic New England based , supermarket Market Basket , comes up. With their iconic slogan “More For Your Dollar”,that feels more like a way of life than a slogan Market Basket, is undeniably New England.
Not too long ago, Terry O’Malley of Stop Calling Me Frank got unexpectedly caught up in perhaps the most New England experience imaginable – he was stuck in traffic behind a bunch of cars all headed to the local Market Basket.
“I saw a line of cars stopped on a highway off-ramp that leads to a plaza with a Market Basket,” recalls the saxophonist of the venerable Boston rock band. “I said ‘Everybody’s going to the Market Basket!’ sort of as a joke, but I liked the way those words scanned.”
Tapping into the New England zeitgeist of our modern day, one lined with salmon-colored checker board floors, maroon jackets, and a whole lot of savings, Stop Calling Me Frank soon had a proper rock and roll banger on their collective hands. The sweaty, beer-fueled, and sax-driven rock and roll band now unleash “MB Anthem (The Market Basket Song)” today (Friday, September 26) on Rum Bar Records.
Of course, this rabble-rousing ode to the beloved grocery chain, a classic Stop Calling Me Frank cocktail of jittery hooks and bratty punk-rock urgency, arrives (admittedly unintentionally) at a controversial moment in Market Basket’s history. It hits the streams just over two weeks after the company’s board of directors infamously voted to oust beloved longtime CEO Arthur T. (“Artie T.”) Demoulas over disagreements on how to run the once-family business
All I know is that I love the employees of the Market Basket, and the employees love Artie T.!” says bassistDan Caspariello. “So I’m already on their side for this one. The other thing that boggles my mind is how much more money do you need? It’s all about greed.”
O’Malley, Caspar jello, and Stop Calling Me Frank as a band, assert with conviction that this song is for Market Basket, its long-standing culture, and the legions of people who have shopped, with unwavering dedication, at one of the 95 stores around Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine since the grocery store was first founded way back in 1917.
In the usual Stop Calling Me Frank style of loud-fast-fun, the 100-second-long “MB Anthem (The Market Basket Song)” follows a streak of hyperactivity from the band, which got back in the proverbial van just before the pandemic after 25 years out of the Boston scene. In January of this year they released The First Six Years compilation, a callback to those early days, and followed that up with a pair of animated singles in April’s gritty “Good Enough” and July’s punchy “Where You Gonna Hide.”
The band – O’Malley and Caspariello rounded out by vocalistLennie Donohoe, drummerEddie Barese, and guitaristsDavid Forbes and Jeff Ousborne – knew they had something special when O’Malley first came to them with the music and lyrics of “MB Anthem.”
“The first verse came right away,” he adds. “I quickly gave up trying to rhyme ‘basket’ repeatedly and focused on internal rhymes. The guys liked it right away, but it was still a work in progress. I was still tinkering with the exact word order even while we were recording it.”
A bit of “Frankifying” was done by the band, adding their own special flair to the composition, and the track was complete. Recording took place at engineer Ed Riemer’s Edsbarn studio in Canton, about six miles or so from the closest Market Basket in nearby Brockton. The band plans to head back there later this fall to record a few more songs that will appear on a new Stop Calling Me Frank album, but in the meantime, the gentlemen are focused on “MB Anthem.”
It doesn’t matter if you prefer the rotisserie chicken or the delicious hand made donuts at Market Basket,we can all agree Stop Calling Me Frank, has crafted an absolute gem with , “MB Anthem ( The Market Basket Song”

“All That We Have (Is Each Other)”Is The Lead Single, From Debut EP, “Rehearse Your Future, Via Mindpower Records , August 29th.
We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the lead single, “All That We Have (Is Each Other) “ from Sleep Pod Two. You can listen to “All That We Have ( Is Each Other) Here
“The power of music connects us in so many ways,” says guitarist Todd Trout. “‘All That We Have (Is Each Other)’ blends tragedy—from loss to addiction—with a straightforward message of hope and support. Life can be awesome, but it can also be hard, unfair, and hard to stand when it knocks your legs out from under you. This song is about leaning on the people who care deeply for you, even if you can’t see it at the time. Here’s my promise, here’s my word, here’s my heart laid out for you.”
Though formed only in late 2022, Sleep Pod Two’s story is one of parallel existence, woven through decades of independent music. All four members—Trout (Gameface), Guy Julian (The Tank, Gameface), Chris Whyte(Cheswick, One Hundred Words for Snow), and Wal Rashidi (Jr. Juggernaut, For Closure)—trace their roots back to Southern California’s 1990s punk rock scene, particularly the long-running connections surrounding Gameface.
Whyte, once a fan who contributed photos to Gameface’s sophomore album Three to Get Ready, reconnected with Trout after years away from playing music. “Talking with Todd, he was the same big-hearted, motivating, empathetic soul that I remembered,” says Whyte. “We wanted like-minded bandmates to make the creative process low pressure, genuine, and fun.”Julian and Rashidi soon joined, completing the lineup.
What really stands out is “All That We Have ( Is Each Other )” , from Sleep Pod Two, is a song that radiates an authentic and genuine message with a pure punk rock soul.
With Rehearse Your Future, Sleep Pod Two transforms decades of friendship and musical intersections into a heartfelt debut that insists, above all, that all that we have is each other.
We recently had the amazing opportunity, to check out the new red hot new single, “Misery”, from Edmonton based skatepunk trio, Broken Yolks.

Broken Yolks ( besides having a killer name) have a refreshing, high energy and vibrant punk sound that we are absolutely mesmerized about . “Misery” is the perfect tune to make your punk rock heart, extremely happy.
The track is a haunting, introspective song that personifies emotional pain as a familiar yet destructive companion. The lyrics explore the lingering impact of trauma, depression, or heartbreak—experiences that, once ignored or buried, return with greater force. The song identifies a toxic comfort in revisiting emotional suffering, almost like welcoming back an old friend. The song captures the complex relationship we can develop with our darker thoughts—resisting them, missing them, and fearing their return all at once.
So go find your favorite music listening spot, and go get lost in the punk rock goodness of “Misery”, from Broken Yolks.

We recently had the distinct honor and privilege to check out the new single, “Sporting Life”, via Punkerton Records, from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, genre-curious punk band , SUPERINTENDO.
Right out of the gate there is so much to love about SUPERINTENDO , and their vibrant and high energy new single , “Sporting Life” , is a melodically well crafted gem that shows the next level musicianship of SUPERINTENDO
While at its core, “Sporting Life” is a song about adults having a squirt gun fight, there’s also a level of protecting that childhood innocence and fun now that we’re adults. It’s a reminder that life doesn’t have to be completely serious all the time. Especially now, when life is harder than ever, Superintendo reminds us that it’s okay to shoot people with a squirt gun in the middle of the day during the week.
This song is about a bunch of grownups having a giant water gun fight on a weekday. Serious stuff. I wrote this song the summer I turned 40. My wife and kids love it and knew that it was about a huge water gun fight. So on my birthday they threw a huge surprise party with like 75 people who all hid in my back yard and surprised me by shooting a ton of water guns at me. It was awesome.” –Luke West (vocals and guitar)

Our first full-length record, The Horrors of Adulting, is about exactly what it sounds like,” says frontman Jon Barnes. “Being an adult is shitty most of the time. We were so fucking stupid for wanting it so bad when we were younger. If we only knew what a pain in the ass it would be…”
The album —while injecting a fresh urgency and Southern grit.
“The Horrors Of Adulting “, from Lot Lizards, is overflowing with punk rock goodness. However, if we had to pick our favorite song, it would without question be “Explosive Heart Syndrome “. Lot Lizards hit a punk rock home run with this song .
“Explosive Heart Syndrome “ is a fast paced high energy punk rock masterpiece that can’t be ignored.

We are super psyched that Denver, Colorado, based melodic punks, Record Thieves, have released a crushing, emotionally-charged new single , “The Deep,” featuring Amanda Hawkins, that launches the countdown to their just-announced full-length album, Tragic Company, due out September 26 via Thousand Islands Records. You can listen to “The Deep” Here
We are not quite sure what we did to deserve an absolute melodic masterpiece, in the form of “The Deep” , from Record Thieves, But…. We’ll take it !
“The Deep”, has an authentic and honest vibe that is coupled with a memorable melody that is nestled within important and impactful lyrics.
“Tragic Company”, is a 17 track LP, that a bold and expansive evolution of the Record Thieves sound. is gritty, anthemic, and razor-sharp. The new single “The Deep” showcases the band’s trademark blend of melodic hooks and driving aggression, delivering a cathartic punch that hits both the heart and the gut.
A Haunting Anthem for a Broken World, United in Defiance. Drenched in raw emotion and urgent truth, The Deep is a gripping call to arms for a generation suffocating under the weight of corruption, fear, and division. With lyrics that cut through the darkness like a beacon, this song isn’t just a reflection of our struggles—it’s a battle cry for those who refuse to be swallowed by the tide. If you’re ever lost, unheard, or on the edge of surrender, The Deep reminds you: you are not alone.
Formed by veterans of Authority Zero, Boldtype, and Allout Helter,Record Thieves have built a loyal following since their 2020 debut Wasting Time. With their signature mix of heart-on-sleeve lyrics and high-octane performances, they’ve carved out a space for fans of Face to Face, Millencolin, and Hot Water Music.
“IDC” comes just in time for her performance at the return of the iconic Vans Warped Tour this weekend in Long Beach, CA.
MEGG, has a style and vibe that is next to impossible to ignore. “IDC” is real , raw and authentic. We found ourselves singing along almost instantly.
Known for her gritty blend of pop hooks and punk rock attitude, MEGG writes anthems for the loud, the loyal, and the unapologetically real. With “IDC”, she cranks the volume and throws a middle finger to fake, boring, and rude energy everywhere. “This is my proclamation to the world and the last single I’m releasing from the EP I’m dropping in the Fall.” says MEGG. “Its anthemic, its loud and it’s crazy fun – we really didn’t hold back on this one”
Co-written by Brian Wight, Sophie Shredz, and MEGG, and produced by Wight and Rob Nagelhout, IDC” is 100% DGAF attitude reminiscent of Joan Jett and early Green Day with a chorus that’ll have you screaming it on repeat. Mixed by Nagelhout and mastered by John Greenham (Billie Eilish, FINNEAS), it’s another power move from an artist who refuses to play it safe.
A graduate of USC’s inaugural Popular Music Performance Program at the Thornton School of Music, MEGG has shared stages with the likes of KISS and The Used, and headlined iconic LA venues including Saint Rocke. Her live résumé also includes performances at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Disney Concert Hall, and national anthem appearances at Dodger Stadium, Crypto.com, LA Galaxy and LA Sparksgames. You may also remember her standout run on NBC’s The Voice.
Now based in Nashville, MEGG is spreading her California punk spirit in the heart of Music City—sand still in her Vans, middle finger still raised. Following a streak of seven single drops in 2024 and fan-favorites “The End” and “Get Over It” in 2025, “IDC” is the latest anthem in MEGG’s growing arsenal of fearless, genre-blurring tracks.
Turn it all the way up and get loud with “IDC”, from MEGG
US West Coast tour supporting Streetlight Manifesto.
You can’t see it but …. We have a big freaking smile on our face , because we are beyond smitten with the new single, “LOUDMOUTHS” , from our favorite crooner punks, Sweet Gloom . You can check out , “LOUDMOUTHS” Here
For us when it comes to soul soothing punk rock, Nobody hits the sweet spot quite like Sweet Gloom, and on their latest single, “LOUDMOUTHS”, they are firing a thousand percent on all cylinders…. And it’s freaking beautiful.
With vocalist/guitaristJaake Margo’s classic ’50s/’60s pop-inflected vocals against modern punk urgency, the track rockets forward on fuzz-sweet guitars, sugary-silk vocal harmonies, and driving rhythm. Rather than villainizing either partner, “LOUDMOUTHS” traps listeners inside the looping debate.

The song puts the listener smack dab in the middle of a tumultuous relationship,” said Margo. “You ask your partner: if we argue this much, are we ever gonna make it? Are we soulmates or are we destined for failure?”
Everyone always wants to know what’s new ? What’s fresh?….. Look no further than “LOUDMOUTHS” from Sweet Gloom.
Sweet Gloom is kicking off a US West Coast tour this Friday supporting Streetlight Manifesto. They will be playing three sets at FEST 23 in Gainesville, FL this fall.
In the beginning of July, we had the unbelievable good fortune, to check out , melodic East Vancouver, punk rock geniuses, Die Job ( Cyrus Lord, vocals/guitar , Jessie Rockley, viola/vocals, Jesse Death, bass/vocals, Violet Becker, drums ) and their epically awesome single, “Creature Of Habit “, which if your scoring at home ( and we know you are) we freaking loved it !!!
Well we are still basking in the warmth of July, and we get another Die Job single….. we feel like we have won the punk rock lottery with the new single, via Kinda Cool Records, “The One Where Cyrus Has Friends “
You can listen to “The One Where Cyrus Has Friends “ on Spotify Here, Apple Music Here
“This is a poetic, yet rowdy journey through the ups and downs of friendship. The wordplay in this cathartic anthem isn’t just a clever trick, it’s a tool to process grief and contemplate mortality. A triumph for fans of the golden era of Skate Punk, it hints at the speed and harmony of NOFX, while winking with a Rancid like swagger. Soulful & fun, this song burns bright in honour of everyone we’ve loved & lost… because through art, they live on forever!” – CyrusLord
A melodic sing-along, punk masterpiece, “The One Where Cyrus Has Friends” is ready to be your new favorite song . And… like we said before… Any band that has a viola , should be toasted and celebrated for infinity.
“The One Where Cyrus Has Friends “ is a lightning quick ball of punk rock energy, that we simply couldn’t get enough of. We found ourselves dancing around our office and singing at the top of our lungs. Die Job are more than a band they are the ultimate punk rock experience.
We recently had the stellar opportunity to check out the latest single, “Creature Of Habit” via Kinda Cool Records , from East Vancouver, Canada, based melodic punks, Die Job. You can listen to melodic punk goodness that is “Creature Of Habit” on Spotify Here, Apple Music Here
If punk rock is your thing….. wait….if you like music of any kind you owe it to you music loving heart to check out “Creature Of Habit”, from punk rock geniuses, Die Job.
We listen to a lot of music (we’re a music blog it’s what we do ) However, we were absolutely blown away by Die Job. Any band who can incorporate a Viola ( yes we said Viola) in a punk band deserves the key to the city they live in and their own holiday .
The next level musicianship that is present in Die Job is off the charts . (We are pretty sure that Die Job could turn “Row Row Your Boat” in to a punk rock masterpiece)
What needs not to be lost about Die Job, is that neatly placed within the wondrous Melodic tones of “Creature Of Habit “ is the authentic and honest truth that truly make Die Job, standout – Bravo
We are wicked pumped to finally check out the new EP, “OLLIE”, via Hey!Fever Records from Southern California punk band Heartwells. You can listen to “Ollie” on Spotify Here, Apple Music Here
Heartwells have an infectious sound and vibe that comes at you fast and furious, this is on full display on the band’s latest EP, “Ollie. If you are not hyped up after this EP, we suggest medical attention- freaking brilliant!
“This record is extremely sentimental and personal to me,”says Heartwells’sJT, who wrote what he calls “probably the saddest song I’ve ever written” about his father. “We feel we’ve come a long way since our last release. The chemistry and dynamic of the band really shine on this EP—it feels like a full-length record in just six songs.”
From the first note on the first track, “Over Me”, there is no denying the sheer power, emotion, and energy that is ever present throughout “OLLIE”
Following up their fan-favorite The New Old School, the band put everything on the table to push themselves further. Two songs were written in the studio on the spot, with band members creating their parts without hearing the songs beforehand—an approach that was “both exciting and stressful,” according to JT.
Recorded at Buzzbomb Studios in Orange, CA with longtime producer Paul Miner, the EP benefits from a collaborative energy and veteran production touch. “Paul has been our guiding light from the start,”JT says. “He really stepped up as a producer on this one, helping bring out the full potential of every song.” The EP was mastered by Chris Hesse of Hoobastank, giving Ollie its polished yet punchy final sound.
The title Ollie is a nod to both the band’s skatepunk roots and the adorable dog featured on the cover—Moki’s pup, Ollie. It’s a playful visual for a record that dives deep into themes of personal struggle, fractured relationships, family dynamics, and social unrest. “It’s a pretty dark record,” JT explains, “but it has a lot of bright energy. I figured putting a cute dog on the cover would balance it out.”
We are all in on Heartwells and their spectacular new EP, “Ollie” And…. We think you will be too.

We were absolutely over the moon thrilled that we got to check the EP, “I’d Be Delighted “, from Boston based , The Grimly Pleased . You can listen to “I’d Be Delighted” on Spotify Here , Apple Music Here and on Bandcamp Here
Often when we talk about bands, we talk aboutbands having “IT”. We don’t always know what “IT” is but we definitely know it when we hear “IT” . We can say without hesitation that when we listened to “I’d Be Delighted”, from Boston based The Grimly Pleased, we definitely hear “IT”
The new release continues the band’s unique ability to be relentlessly upbeat and
simultaneously edgy. The songs explore the happiness of being in a relationship (“I’d Be
Delighted” and “My Superstar”) as well as leaning into the hopefulness of the absurd (“I Will Say” and “Ah Ah Ah Oh”).
What we really love most about The Grimly Pleased, is they have a unique and original sound that is both fresh and familiar. Punk, grunge, indie rock- all rolled into an incredible sound.
We found ourselves dancing around the office and singing along almost instantly.
Recorded in April of 2025 at the Record Co. in Boston and engineered by Mike Quinn (The
Daylilies, The Magic City), this release furthers the band’s partnership with artist DanielBenayun, whose cover art is also meant to pair with the band’s future 7” release, “I’ll Choose It”
So go ahead and find your favorite listening spot and get mesmerized by The GrimlyPleased and brilliant EP, “I’dBe Delighted “
If high octane , no thrills punk rock is your thing …. We have the EP, you have been waiting for! Massachusetts based Already Dead , have delivered a new EP, “I Think It’s Time To Leave” that will send your music loving heart in to an absolute frenzy.
You can listen to “I Think It’s Time To Leave..” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here .
The new hardcore punk EP called I Think It’s Time To Leave…, from, Already Dead, is out on digital and 7-inch vinyl today.( Friday, June 20. )
The new record comes hot on the heels of last year’s explosive Something Like a War album – which earned the band mentions and microphones everywhere from WGBH’sThe Culture Show and WBUR, Boston’s NPR to New Noise, Maximum Rocknroll, and Dying Scene – and delivers Already Dead’s first-ever vinyl issue. The 7-inch release party goes down Saturday, June 28 at Koto in Lowell alongside Vauli, The McGunks, and Autumn Astronauts.
Courtesy Of The Band
Front and center on the new record,is a reloaded and rebooted Already Dead lineup, as founding members Dan Cummings (vocals and guitar) and Brandon Bartlett (vocals and guitars) are now rounded out by Ian Killpartrick (bass) and Forgie (drums). Cummings and Bartlett, who also split writing duties on this record, with Bartlett taking on an enhanced role in the band’s creative process, did not have to look far for the new members. In fact, they just had to look at their own teenage backyards located just outside of Boston.
“The whole band is now from the same damn small town, born and raised,” Cummings says with a laugh. “We all know each other in different ways, and are somewhat separated by age, but there is a certain camaraderie when you grew up partying in the same woods or neighborhoods. It made it really easy to be comfortable and start creating immediately.”
I Think It’s Time To Leave… was co-produced by the band and longtime collaborator Jim Corbett, and recorded and mixed by Corbett at The Bridge Sound and Stage in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The record was mastered by Stephen Pettyjohn at EtherealMastering, and as for all Already Dead releases, the artwork is illustrated and designed by Mark Saffie of Saffie Design.
The EP, packs a perfectly crafted sonic punch that you feel from the first note of the opening track , “I’ll Go Mind”, all the way through to the last note on “Nothin Wrong” On “I Think It’s Time To Leave.. “ , Already Dead , prove to be punk rock kings of the ring, with an EP, that is an absolute knockout.
Each song centers around a loose theme of getting out of somewhere – whether it be a bad relationship, a difficult situation, a person’s expectations, or simply an annoying conversation. And as usual, the brute force Already Dead deliver this theme provides enough motivation to just get up and leave with purpose and distinction.
All the songs on this record felt cohesive, so I tried to think of something to tie them together,” says Bartlett. “Pretty quickly I Think It’s Time to Leave… popped into my mind because I equated it to making sense, in some way, for each song. Adding an ellipsis after the title leaves it open to what we’re leaving behind in each song.”
Lead single, “Time” and “Sick Talk” are two solid songs that we were singing along to almost instantly. The standout track, on “I Think It’s Time To Leave..” , in our opinion is “Gettin By” . We love everything about this track. It is Already Dead at their absolute best.
You owe it to your music loving heart to check out “I Think It’s Time To Leave” from Already Dead. You will not be disappointed.
We recently had the stellar opportunity to check out the new single, “Sunny Side” ,via Punkerton Records , from Leipzig’s skate punk, Skeetch . You can listen to “Sunny Side” on Spotify HereApple Music Here
You can watch the video for “Sunny Side”, directed by Frosty Tapes, below,
We were instantly captivated by the boundless and electrifying energy of “Sunny Side”, from Skeetch .
“Sunny Side”, blends big-hearted energy with gritty hooks, the song is a rush of melodic, ’90s-inspired punk rock that’s both nostalgic and deeply personal.
What we absolutely love about “Sunny Side”, is that it immediately gives off ‘90s melodic skate punk vibes as soon as the opening guitar riff hits. It’s the kind of song that transports you back to the days when Warped Tour cost less than 20 bucks and Tony Hawk was shaping the listening habits of a generation. With fast, punchy drums, soaring guitar leads, and shout-along hooks, it’s a throwback without sounding dated — a refreshing jolt of youthful sincerity.
Lyrically, “Sunny Side” is a brilliantly written punk rock gem . It is a punk rock love song about finding a spark of beauty in the middle of a gray, lifeless backdrop. “It’s about finding someone (or something) good when everything else around you just isn’t,” the band explains. “It’s about seeing the beauty in the mundane.” The song’s refrain says it all:“You’re the sunny side of shitty town.”
Sunny Side”* is our not-so-cheesy love song — whether you see it as about a relationship, a friendship, or however you choose to interpret it. It’s a reminder that even when life sucks — sometimes, or even most of the time — it’s worth appreciating the little things. It’s about finding and embracing the _sunny side_ of whatever situation you’re in. The track is also the title song of our debut full-length album, ‘Sunny Side of Shitty Town’, dropping on August 22 via Punkerton Records. Keep your eyes peeled — pre-orders go live in the next few days!”–Skeetch
We are absolutely smitten with “Sunny Side”, from Skeetch. It has put our punk rock loving heart into overdrive. We can’t wait for Skeetch’s forthcoming debut full-length album, due later this year.

We are absolutely taken by the phenomenal new single, “Blood OnThe Ceiling “ , from EMPIRED. Just when we think we have heard the best from EMPIRED, they release another epic single , that totally blows our minds. This is absolutely the case with their latest single, “Blood On The Ceiling”
Empired Photo: @The_Corona_Chronicles
Recorded and mixed by Empired guitarist Cam Mosavian and mastered by the legendary Paul Miner, the single will appear on the band’s upcoming release.
“Blood on the Ceiling is about growing up with a mentally unstable parent that struggles with drug addiction. The confusion, the pain, and learning about love through forgiveness while also learning about hate as that forgiveness can backfire. Through it all though, there is hope and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We just have to hang in there as best as we can to move forward. It’s not about the family we are born into but the family we choose,” says Bruce Zebal of Empired.
The vocals on , “Blood On The Ceiling” are a thing of freaking beauty . The band are highly skilled musicians who craft songs that stay deep within your soul long after the music has ended.
Established in May 2023, EMPIRED is the brainchild of Jai Hansel (Bass, Vocals), Danny Baeza (Drums), and Bruce Zebal (Guitar, Vocals). Their instant chemistry propelled them into the studio with renowned producer Paul Miner (known for his work with Death By Stereo, Thrice, New Found Glory).
Recognizing the need for an additional guitar to enhance their sound, Cameron Mosavian (The Overrides, Piss and Blood) joined the group. Harnessing this newfound momentum, EMPIRED composed and recorded the entirety of their debut LP, “Finding Calm in the Chaos,” quickly transitioning to a packed schedule of shows across Southern California.
Having signed with HEY!FEVER Records and already completed several tours–with more dates on the horizon– EMPIRED’S trajectory is one of continuous growth and unwavering determination.

If you are constantly on the hunt for new music, boy do we have a band and an album for you…. We recently had the splendid opportunity to check out the new album, “Accidentally Funding The End Of The World “, via the fine folks from , Thousands Island Records, from Greek technical punk force Qualia and the Five Ancestors of the Great Maryland Kingdom. The amazing new album, comes after seven years of silence.
You can listen to “Accidentally Funding The End Of The World “Here
Regular readers of “The Whole Kameese” know that we find an album that we are over the moon excited about , we want to shout it from the rooftops. “Accidentally Funding The End Of The World “ , from Qualia and the Five Ancestors of the Great Maryland Kingdom, is definitely one of those albums.
Formed in Athens, Greece in 2016, QUALIA quickly made waves in the local scene with their debut single The Overview Effect(2017), followed by their first album in 2018 released with support from Polyscope Music. Featuring standout tracks like Mr. S (Is a Snake Merchant) and Vantablack, the band blended elements of technical skate punk, mathcore breakdowns, and an explosive mix of clean vocals and screams.
Over the years, QUALIA have shared stages with bands like Mute, Acid Snot, The Burnt Tapes, and Greek staples like Day Oof and The Overjoyed. In 2019, they toured Italy, performing at La Cabotina alongside Blowfuse and Lineout, and later joined Punk on Sea Vol. 2 in 2022 at Okio Cafe.
With Accidentally Funding the End of the World, QUALIA stick to their roots while pushing the envelope of their genre—expect surgical riffing, aggressive rhythms, and sharp, socially aware lyrics. The band continues to define and defy what technical punk rock can sound like.
“Accidentally Funding The End Of The World “ is a brilliantly crafted punk rock masterpiece. From start to finish our jaw was on the floor in complete amazement of the musical greatness that flowed out of the record.
The opening track, “Devil’s Garage”, is more than a song , it is an epic breathtaking melodic experience. We found ourselves singing along almost instantly.
“Dreams Of Blue, Deeds Of Red”, “Styrofoam ( Wasting Away)”, and “Rounding”, are some of our favorite tracks from the album. If we had to pick our absolute favorite track, it would be without question, “The Conversationalist”. We loved everything about the track, flawless vocals and the next level musicianship and playing on “The Conversationalist”, is off the charts.
Stop whatever you are doing and treat your ears to the absolute magic of , Accidentally Funding The End Of The World “, from Qualia and the Five Ancestors of the Great Maryland Kingdom. You won’t be disappointed.
The Ataris drop Breaking Bad- inspired music video for “Car Song” off their upcoming first full-length LP in over 15 years
This past Friday, we were positively ecstatic to check the brand new single , “Car Song”, from legendary punk rock band The Ataris, now we were even more excited, to check out the new Breaking Bad, inspired video. You can check out the video below
The video kicks off with Roe arriving at an Airbnb hosted by none other than Walter White’s family. A sign reads, “Make yourself at home, but whatever you do, don’t go in the garage!”Naturally, Roe ignores the warning, makes off with the original Volvo driven by Walter White in the final episode of Breaking Bad, and takes it on a chaotic joyride. The story escalates with a traffic stop by a cop—played by longtime Ataris producer Bob Hoag—and a surprise discovery of blue meth in the trunk. Just as things seem lost, a shadowy Walter White lookalike swoops in, stealing back the Volvo and disappearing into the desert.
We had a great time filming the video for ‘Car Song,’”says Roe. “It was a really fun day with old friends and lots of great memories were made.”
The inspiration for the song and the video’s surreal concept came from a real-life piece of Breaking Bad history: Roe purchased Walter White’s actual Volvo from the show’s assistant director and later traded it to producer Bob Hoag in exchange for studio time. “I like to say that Walter White’s Volvo was the catalyst for ‘Car Song’ and the new album,” Roe laughs. “It all just came together from there, and now, here we are.”
We are super psyched for the new video and single for “Car Song” and we can’t wait for more new music.
FIRST SINGLE FROM UPCOMING ALBUM — THEIR FIRST FULL-LENGTH LP IN OVER 15 YEARS– WATCH THE LYRIC VIDEO– Track Honors Frontman Kristopher Roe’s Late Father, Whose Ashes Will Be Mixed into Limited Edition “Car Song” Vinyl Pressing
We recently had the phenomenal opportunity to check out the new single, “Car Song” , from punk rock band, The Ataris . You can listen to , “Car Song”Here You can also check out the lyric video below
“Car Song,” the lead single from their long-awaited upcoming album, marking the band’s first full-length release since 2007. Recorded using vintage tones and brought to life with the warmth of analog tape, this heartfelt track is dedicated to frontman Kristopher Roe’s late father, a lifelong supporter and integral part of the band’s journey.
“Car Song”, is vintage, The Ataris . Everything we love about them is packed beautifully in an absolutely brilliantly crafted song.
In addition to “Car Song,” The Ataris are revisiting their beloved hit “In This Diary”with two fresh versions — a newly re-recorded 2025 studio version and a brand-new acoustic rendition. These reimagined takes offer fans a fresh, emotional perspective on the track that helped define a generation of fans.

In addition to “Car Song,”The Ataris are revisiting their beloved hit “In This Diary”with two fresh versions — a newly re-recorded 2025 studio version and a brand-new acoustic rendition. These reimagined takes offer fans a fresh, emotional perspective on the track that helped define a generation of fans.
Kristopher’s father, William Roe, passed away in 2014 due to complications related to alcoholism. In his honor, a portion of the proceeds from the “Car Song” 7-inch release will go to Shatterproof, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending addiction. The funds raised through this release will benefit Shatterproof through 2025 and 2026, helping those affected by substance use disorders.
“For anyone who knew my dad, they’d agree this would be the most fitting tribute for him,” Roe adds.
The 7-inch vinyl will come in a variety of exclusive editions, including a limited variant incorporating William Roe’s ashes, pressed at Hellbender Vinyl in Pittsburgh, PA. Other vinyl options include a turquoise and silver variant (matching the color of the ring Kristopher’s father wore throughout his life) and a striking rust-red splatter version.
“Car Song” is the first release from The Ataris’ upcoming, untitled album. The band’s return to the studio was sparked by an unlikely source: Roe’s purchase of Walter White’s iconic Volvo from Breaking Bad’s final season. A longtime fan of the show, Roe bought the car from a friend who worked on the show, even discovering a receipt signed by Bryan Cranston as Walter White in the glovebox. Roe later traded the car to his producer Bob Hoag in exchange for studio time—an exchange that led directly to the creation of “Car Song.”
“I like to say that Walter White’s Volvo was the catalyst for ‘Car Song’ and the new album,” says Roe with a smile. “It all just came together from there, and now, here we are.”
“Car Song, feels like The Ataris, are revving the engine up for their next great adventure , and we can’t wait to see where it takes them.
It is next to impossiblenot to get wrapped up in the punk rock goodness of “Insolence” from Walt Hamburger.
Insolence,” is a punchy, full-band anthem exploring the isolating realities of modern dating culture. The track sets the tone for Hamburger’s upcoming album “…And Louie!” — due out June 20th — and features an all-star cast of punk rock royalty.
“Insolence” showcases a powerhouse lineup: Neil Hennessy (The Lawrence Arms), Asher Simon (Joey Cape’s Bad Loud), Mikey Erg (The Ergs,The Unlovables), and Jon Snodgrass (Drag the River, Scorpios). The result? A gritty, heartfelt, and infectious punk jam that will resonate with fans of Joey Cape, Jon Snodgrass, Frank Turner, Bryan Walstrom, and Tim Barry.

Formed in 2021 by four friends brought together by their shared love of fast, melodic punk rock. Growing up during the golden era of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater soundtracks, the band draws heavy inspiration from genre-defining acts like Pennywise, Millencolin, Bad Religion, and many more. Fueled by that same DIY energy, Skeetch quickly hit the ground running.
By the end of their first year, they had already released two EPs and embarked on their first European tour. Since then, they’ve continued to make a name for themselves across Europe, playing shows in countries like France, Croatia, and beyond. After releasing their third EP, Skeetch or Die, With Max Schlegel on vocals, Tom Kühnel on guitar and vocals, Markus Ackert on bass and vocals, and Richard M. on drums, Skeetch is carrying the torch for skate punk and proving that the sound that shaped their youth is alive and well.

When speaking about the new single, “Loose Thoughts” , Max Schlegel, shares :
Loose Thoughts” is the first single from our upcoming debut album [Will be announced at a later date] , and it’s all about the random thoughts that run through your mind. It’s a tribute to all the daydreamers out there and a reminder of how important it is to lose yourself in your thoughts, whether to spark creativity or escape negativity. It’s also about questioning everything whether it is your past, your choices, and the “what ifs” of life. What if things had turned out differently? What if everything changed? With a touch of humor, these lyrics are meant to make you reflect on your life while also reminding you not to take everything too damn seriously.

We are beyond excited, to finally check out the new EP, “Brittle But Elite”, via the fine folks from High End Denim Records, from Charlottetown, PEI , punks , TeethOut. You can listen to “Brittle But Elite “ Here
Formed in 2024 in Charlottetown, PEI, TeethOut is a punk band that plays like they’re still 20—fast, loud, and with something to prove. Rooted in the traditions of skatepunk and 90s melodic hardcore, the band blends breakneck speed with introspective lyricism, delivering a sound that’s both nostalgic and urgent. Despite their recent formation, TeethOut has already earned a reputation for raw, high-energy live shows and no-frills punk songwriting.
We were immediately drawn to the style , sound and vibe of TeethOut. They pour everything they have in to their music and, it shows glowingly on “BrittleBut Elite”
The project began with a simple idea: reconnect with the cathartic energy of the music they grew up on. Early writing sessions between founding members Jason, Josh, and Ira sparked what would become Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is, their debut EP released in January 2025 on High End DenimRecords. Tracks like “Streetlights” and “Down on Queen” introduced listeners to a band unafraid to mix emotional honesty with punk aggression.
The lineup has since solidified with Josh Lavigne (vocals), Ira Banks (guitar), Brandon Doyle (guitar), Pete MacDonald (bass), and Jason Ezeard (drums). Each member brings decades of experience in East Coast punk and hardcore, but TeethOut is more than a throwback project—it’s a reaction to the chaos of modern life and a commitment to staying loud through it all.
If you like punk rock…. TeethOut, is the band that will get you to love punk rock. The band has further crafted and redefine their already killer sound and elevated it to new heights with their second EP , Brittle But Elite
Featuring a guest spot from Madison Regan (Last Good Thing) on the lead track “Lifeline II,” the new record digs deeper into themes of regret, survival, and hope in a collapsing world. From the explosive melancholy of “Walking Down” to the stripped-down vulnerability of “Cancel Me (Acoustic),” the EP balances chaos with clarity—delivered at full speed. TeethOut, is not a one trick pony and it really shows on “Brittle But Elite”
Catch TeethOut on tour:
July 17-18 – Gutterfest 2025 – Avon Valley Lanes – Windsor, NS July 26 – Gus’ Pub & Grill – Halifax, NS
We recently had the extraordinary opportunity to check out the new record, “Pest Sounds“ from Philadelphia , based punks , Five Hundred Bucks , You can listen to “Pest Sounds “ Here
“Pest Sounds “, from Five Hundred Bucks, is a punk rock lovers dream. Every single song is full of punk rock goodness.
On their second full-length Pest Sounds, lead songwriter Jeff Riddle has written a set of maximalist punk rock songs that buzz like a metal detector in a crowded mine-field while never shying away from classic pop structures and affecting storytelling. This is punk-pop for the kicked-around. Sing-along songs for the rough-around-the-edges, and the sound of a new and exciting band stumbling onto their masterwork.
Going back a few years, Riddle (formerly of The Holy Mess) hooked up with his old friend, drummer William Francis Orender (Captain, We’re Sinking), to fulfill an assignment of writing the soundtrack the hit indie horror flick Uncle Peckerhead, written and directed by Riddle’s friend and close collaborator, Matthew John Lawrence. During the dire days of the pandemic, the two got together for almost daily writing sessions. They quickly amassed a well of songs and a sound that stays true to their punk past but makes room to include their all-encompassing musical vocabularies. The band made a name for themselves on their 2022 debut $500, as well as with the success of Uncle Peckerhead, but have dug even deeper into their modus operandi of following wherever their muse leads them on this new batch of songs.
We’re doing this for us,”says Riddle of their approach. “If people connect with it, great. But we’re not writing for anyone else.” And it’s that defiance that shapes Pest Sounds, which swings from world-dominating heartland anthems like “Promises of Gold” to the wild, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it fury of “Baker’s Lung.”to the sleazy 70’s rock strut of “The Cramp.” There’s no safe zone here—every track is an unpredictable dive into a new corner of the band’s world.
While the album is chock full of hooks that pass by with a rabbit’s heartbeat, Riddle is opening up lyrically in a way he never has. Emotional haymakers like the stomping “Denialism” offer a sepia tone snapshot of days of yore: fleeting impressions of innocence—a stolen cigarette here, a bummed ride there—swirling in a fog of nostalgia and droning Leslie organ.
When we were younger and just discovering punk we dream of finding a band like Five Hundred Bucks, now our dreams have come true .
Every song on “Pest Sounds” , is like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. “pest Sounds”, from Five Hundred Bucks, is everything we wanted in a punk rock record and more.

Recorded and mixed by EMPIRED guitarist Cam Mosavian and mastered by the legendary Paul Miner, the single will appear on the band’s upcoming release.
“A hard hitting song with soulful verses and big choruses, Just A Phase explores the end of a relationship. Is it for the better? Are we truly better off? Were we to blame for it ending? Nothing lasts forever and Empired celebrates that like the wake of a loved one,” says Bruce Zebal of Empired.
The moving vocal performance combined with a memorable melody make “Just A Phase”, from EMPIRED, absolutely shine . If music is in your soul, you owe it to yourself to check out this stunning new song!
We recently had the epically awesome opportunity to check out the blazing new album, “Holding On To Hope”, via Thousand Islands Records from Montreal punks, The Last Mile. You can listen to “Holding On To Hope” Here
“Holding On ToHope” , from The Last Mile is everything you could ever ask for in a punk album and then some. We truly believe we just listened to 10 tracks of melodic punk greatness.
With the release of their second full length, ‘Holding On To Hope,’ collectively released on Thousand islands Records and Pavones Records, The Last Mile are moving forward and intensifying their sound. The aesthetic of the record was designed and laid out by Stealworks a.k.a. John Yates, known for his genre defining work with bands such as Lifetime, Jawbreaker, Alkaline Trio, Bad Religion, Alternative Tentacles, and so much more.
Recorded in Vancouver by long-time collaborator, Jesse Gander (Brutus, Japandroids, DBS, Daggermouth) and mastered by Jason Livermore at The Blasting Room, these songs are a natural progression of the bands signature heartfelt songs, leaning in a more modern hardcore vein while still retaining their punk rock roots.
As soon as you press play on “Holding On To Hope” you are taken on a remarkable musical experience that is second to none. The Last Mile, pours everything they have into every song and it shows.
We can honestly say with our whole music loving heart that there isn’t a bad song on “Holding On To Hope “ The Last Mile write authentic and heartfelt songs that move your mind and soul as well as your feet.
“Farewell For Now “, “Anything” and “Hot Box” are all solid well written musical compositions that we absolutely loved . The one song that stood out to us on “Holding On To Hope” was “Water Mary” The melodic and sonic tones complement each other perfectly .
Flawless vocals ( which feature both make and female vocals) and next level musicianship make “Holding On To Hope” an absolute can’t miss.
We recently had the extreme privilege to check out the new star studded punk rock opera, “This Never Happened “ from The Frst. You can listen to “This Never Happened” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here
“This Never Happened “ from The Frst, is a beautifully crafted display of pure punk rock brilliance, The Frst didn’t just set the bar in terms of an incredible album, they took to it a completely different universe and it’s extraordinary.
This Never Happened”, their new full length , from The Frst, contains 13 tracks- highlighting some of Alternative Rock & Punk’s biggest icons, featuring members of Eagles of Death Metal, Bowling For Soup,Sleeping With Sirens, The Almost, Chiodos, The Dangerous Summer and helmed by producers George Perks (Skindred, Enter Shikari) and Matt Malpass(Blink 182, mgk) for a sprawling Nu Punk record that encompasses nearly every genre along the way.
Containing some of The Frst’s already established tracks such as “Bruce Lee” which hit #29 on the iTunes Rock Chart, and This Is Me Now which hit #46 on the same chart, “This Never Happened” contains fresh material, most notably “kNOw (feat. Makeout)” an uptempo Punk Rock anthem that’s equal parts The Donnas and Black Flag. Lyrically exploring themes of life in the 20’s, “kNOw” is a wake up call to attention with lyrics like “Wouldn’t you like to know, the freak show, the doom scroll…)
Meanwhile, “Ego Is The Enemy” is a short but mosh worthy Trap-Metal banger clocking in under 40 seconds, and yet the idea is perfectly crystallized by a single phrase, ‘my ego is the enemy.’ The true artistry however, is in the track order and the way each song flows seamlessly into the next. “This Never Happened” walks the delicate balance of feeling like a modern playlist of different artists, and a classic concept album such as Dark Side of The Moon or Sgt. Pepper that paints a vivid picture from beginning to end. Frontman Mikei Gray explains that it wasn’t by accident.
“Part of the concept for the record…is that the album is a playlist that the main character has created to accompany them through the various twists and turns of the story. Each song is supposed to be a little different and sometimes juxtapose what’s next to it.”
Regardless of the lore, the ever changing line-up on each song is enough to keep even the most boisterous listeners attentive.
Do yourself a favor and check out the amazing new record, “This Never Happened “ from The Frst

Fresh from supporting hot property Essex Brit-punk duo The Meffs on their recent runaway success live dates, CARSICK will embark on their own run of EU headline dates this April 2025, with tickets on sale now.
The band are also delighted to announce today select UK headline dates and a packed festival schedule for the summer, including appearances at Rebellion Festival, Boomtown, Sziget, Bearded Theory Fest and more (see below for listings).
Recorded, mixed and mastered by Sam Winfield and Tom Millar at Studio 91, Newbury, ‘Pub Watch’ is yet another strong foot forward from the rapidly-rising quartet, and the first taste of a larger body of work coming later this year.
Their haywire live shows and no-holds-barred approach to the party lifestyle have garnered the band both notoriety and an increasingly ardent young fanbase, as evidenced by their notably packed out festival appearances last summer, with ‘Pub Watch’ serving as yet another nihilistic anthem for the late stage capitalism generation.
Commenting on the single, the band say: “Pub Watch is the soundtrack to the most chaotic piss-up of your life. From hammering too many pre-drinks to sneaking contraband into the bar to being kicked out for getting too rowdy, we’ve all had nights which have landed us in the town’s bouncers’ bad books. This is a track which has been a staple in our live set since the early days of the band and is a guaranteed pit-starter, so we’re buzzing to finally have it out there for people to hear.”
CARSICK, is punk rock perfection, delivering an electrifying new single, with “Pub Watch” that has left us absolutely speechless. Everyone seems to have their own definition of punk . CARSICK, is punk rock to the core and it is a thing of beauty.

The first single, “Anything,” is a rallying call to help inspire those who are feeling lost or forgotten. There was a time when people believed that they could be anything they wanted, but that feeling is waning and people are feeling helpless. It’s time to believe in ourselves again. One thing that stands out to us listening to “Anything” from The Last Mile, is the next level musicianship from the band. Real Sickies, hold nothing back, as soon as we heard the opening track, “Under A Plastic Bag“ ( which is also the title track ) we knew we were about to experience a complete punk rock adrenaline rush.
Described as “the Teenage Bottlerocket of the Great White North” by The Punk Site, Real Sickies fuse the raw power of Ramones-core with melodic hooks that could just as easily resonate in packed punk venues as on alternative FM radio. Written between whirlwind international tours, late-night demo sessions, and chaotic live performances, Under a Plastic Bag is an album brimming with raw, high-energy anthems. Tracks like “Wild Imagination,” “Should Have Seen It Coming,” and “Triage” showcase the band’s knack for crafting catchy choruses and sharp songwriting, blending the simplicity of the Ramones with the wild edge of Teenage Head, the melodic urgency of the Buzzcocks, the quirky, off-kilter energy of Devo, and the brooding intensity of The Sound.
The recording process for Under a Plastic Bag was as intense as the themes the album explores. Engineered and produced by Joshua Wells (Autogramm, Lightning Dust), the album was recorded in Edmonton’s Riverdale Recorders during one of the city’s coldest winters. “I was brought in specifically to bring more of the post punk weirdo sound to this record,” said Wells of the sessions. “Josh flew in from Chicago and joined us in our Little Italy studio in Edmonton,” recalls frontman Ben Disaster. “We hunkered down with coffee and sandwiches, sometimes only sleeping five hours a night. It felt right—it was positive, freeing, and creative. We had a lot of songs and big ideas, but everything came together in that short, freezing stretch of time.” The studio itself became a character in the creative process. “We built a fort in the studio to keep warm, drank endless coffee, and powered through long nights,” Ben shares. “The cold and isolation somehow fueled the energy of the recordings. It was a weirdly perfect environment to make a record about chaos, resilience, and piecing things back together.” The result is an album that retains the band’s signature energy while pushing into new sonic territory.
Every song on “Under A Plastic Bag, is absolutely phenomenal, however the one track that stood out to us was , “Wild Imagination “, we love everything about this track . The sound and vibe on “Wild Imagination” is absolutely breathtaking. You can also check out the video for “Wild Imagination“
If punk rock is your thing you can’t afford to miss “Under A Plastic Bag “, from Real Sickies.

“Whip It “ , from DEVO , is probably one of the most electrifying songs in music history. The Mary Tyler Whores deliver a blazing version of “Whip It” that they make all their own and we freaking love it .
Produced by punk legend Greg Hetson (Circle Jerks / Bad Religion), this turbocharged, high-voltage version of Devo’s cult classic slaps harder than ever, dripping with the band’s signature filthy punk energy.
Covering ‘Whip It’ felt like the perfect way to pay tribute while ripping it open for a new generation.” Shot in downtown Los Angeles in January 2025 – right in the middle of the city’s wildfire devastation – the ‘Whip It’ video is a high-intensity, no-holds-barred spectacle. Directed, edited, and enhanced with SFX by Faust (Infinivision), with cinematography by Blake Russ, and Money$Punk Productions backing the madness, the video blends surrealism with pure punk destruction.
So dust off those new wave dance moves and get ready to “WhipIt”
Tess & The Details, have a vibrant and electrifying sound that is a must hear for any true music lover. The mark of a good cover , is when the band makes it their own , Tess & The Details, have definitely done this with their cover of “Maniac”

They’ve shared the stage with legends like Fishbone, Swingin’ Utters, The Meteors, The Last Gang, and The Drowns, proving they can hold their own alongside some of the best in the scene.
Beyond the music, Tess & The Details take pride in their relentless work ethic and advocacy for mental health awareness—all while delivering the kind of no-frills, high-energy rock that keeps fans coming back for more.
The band has teamed up with, Wiretap Records for a cover of “Maniac”, along with fresh original music and an aggressive touring schedule.
The idea to cover Maniac came unexpectedly— Lead vocalist/guitarist Tess Stevens says , “We were loading out at an obscure little venue in Crockett, California called Toot’s Tavern, and over the speakers while we were lugging our Marshall’s out the door we heard the song and we all started dancing.
It was the energy and dark catchiness of the song that made us all go…wait…,”Should we cover this?” almost as a joke…then that joke turned into us coming up with a Details-ified version of the song that we have played at almost every show since. Crowds liked it so much that we ended up teaming up with our longtime producer & mixing engineer Jacob Light to record it at ModernTone Studios in Lafayette, California.”
They didn’t stop there. To fully embrace the Flashdance spirit, they threw themselves into a nostalgic, over-the-top music video, directed by their close friend and Like Roses guitarist Devin Zamora. The result? A wild, 1983-inspired spectacle that you truly have to see to believe. You can watch the video Here

We recently had the distinct honor to check out the new EP, “Summer Bummer” via Epidemic Records from Vicenza, Italy-based band Hearts Apart. You can listen to “Summer Bummer ” Here
We first got a chance to fall in love with the Punk and Roll sound of Hearts Apart, back in January, with their high energy single, “I Hate Summer” ( which we had on permanent repeat )
After years of live shows and two EPs that defined their sound, the band raises the bar with six new tracks recorded spontaneously and directly, thanks to an idea from producer and friend Maurizio Icio Baggio. The result? A rawer, more visceral, and authentic sound that perfectly captures their essence: emotional intensity, self-irony, and an unstoppable drive to play punk rock.
The energy that Hearts Apart put in to their music is absolutely electrifying that it practically burst out of the speakers .
Pic Credits: Alessandro Digiuni
“We recorded these six songs in no time, letting instinct guide us,”say Hearts Apart. “What came out is an even more direct and spontaneous EP compared to our previous work. And despite the cassette recorder, it sounds absolutely killer!”
One listen to “Summer Bummer” and our love affair with Hearts Apart . that started with “I Hate Summer” , was immediately rekindled- Bravo!
Hearts Apart brilliantly take everything that is good about punk and rock and roll and make it a 1000 times better. So many bands just follow the same trend with no originality, Not – Hearts Apart , they have a unique sound that is all their own.
Every song on “Summer Bummer” is an absolute rock gem . We literally sang our hearts out and danced our butts off on every track.
“Forget About Me” , “I Wanna Have Fun”, “Oh People” and “Did I Mention “ have taken up permanent residence in our rock and roll heart and… we wouldn’t have it anyway . So much energy so freaking fun ! We loved all the songs on “Summer Bummer” but the one that really stuck out as our favorite is …. “You Better Let It Go” everything about this song is perfect, melodic , flawless vocals – everything! It is the perfect song to blast on an open highway.
If you love music … You owe it to your self to checkout , “Summer Bummer ” from Hearts Apart .
We recently had the distinct honor to check out the new single, “Flicker Out” , via High End Denim Records from Prince Edward Island’s finest – TeethOut!
You can listen to the blazing new single, “Teeth Out” on Spotify Here , Apple Music Here and on Bandcamp Here
We consider ourselves extremely lucky to be able to listen to some amazing music and share it with the world. Teeth Out in our opinion has such a unique sound and vibe , and it is on full display on their latest incredible single, “Flicker Out”
TeethOut is a skate-punk band from Charlottetown, PEI, formed in 2024. Made up of very middle-aged men trying to do things like they were 30 again, the band includes Josh Lavigne on vocals, Ira Banks and Brandon Doyle on guitars, Pete MacDonald on bass, and Jason Ezeard on drums. Inspired by the 90s punk sound, they bring an energetic style and catchy melodies that is so electrifying, they could probably light up all of the houses in PEI, with their amazing musical energy.
Following a lineup change right before the band released Put Your Money Where Your MouthIs ( which by the way freaking rules!( in January, they wasted no time writing with their two new members, diving straight into fresh material. Flicker Out is the first look at this new chapter. As always, the band used Shawn Taggart at Hog Audio to produce & mix the track. And there’s more on the way—a new four-song EP, Brittle but Elite, is set to drop in early April, delivering another dose of high-energy, no-nonsense skate punk.
Ozone –“Flicker Out was born from frustration—the kind that comes from watching the same fights play out over and over with no real winners. We wanted the song to feel urgent and raw, with lyrics that capture the exhaustion of endless conflict and the need to step away. I think Josh captured that well with his lyrics. Musically, we feel that it hits fast and hard, balancing melody with aggression, and of course, staying true to our “old-man” approach to skate-punk.”
We are absolutely over the moon about “Flicker Out” from Teeth Out, and we can’t wait for more.
Catch TeethOut on tour!
Feb 28 – The Guild – Charlottetown, PEI April 11 – Xeroz Arcade Bar – Moncton, NB April 12 – Sportsman’s Club – Charlottetown, PE July 17-18 – Gutterfest 2025 – Avon Valley Lanes – Windsor, NS July 26 – Gus’ Pub & Grill – Halifax, NS

We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the recently recorded version of “Never Ending Cloudy Day”, from Veteran punk rock and emo band No Motiv. The song was originally featured on their 1996 LP Cynical. You can listen to “Never Ending Cloudy Day” Here
Revisiting this early piece of their history, the band breathes new life into a track that remains just as relevant today as it was nearly three decades ago.
Reflecting on the origins of “Never Ending Cloudy Day,”Jeremy Palaszewski (vocals, guitar) shared:
“This song is pretty old. I think it was about 1995 or so. I just remember there was a lot of homophobia growing up around my hometown. Friends and older brothers, even dads were always calling people homos and f*gs in a derogatory way.
My brother was gay, so it was very abrasive for me to hear people talk so shallow and cheaply about people they don’t even know.
I guess I just got sick of hearing talk like that, so naturally, I wrote a song about someone coming out of the closet. Who cares if anyone is gay anyways? Shouldn’t even matter or be an issue when it comes to common decency and friendship.”
DrummerPatrick Pedraza recalls the early days of the song and the impact it had within their scene:
“We were just out of high school. Jeremy wrote a simple song that just came together so easily. A local radio station had it on full rotation. We were like, what the heck? It was a fun time.”
Now, nearly 30 years later, No Motiv has revisited the track in a time where its message remains crucial. Roger Camero(bass) reflected on its original release and the importance of bringing it back now:
“It’s a trip going back and listening to the original version of “Never Ending Cloudy Day.” During high school, before I joined the band, I was watching the band do special things that the rest of us really looked up to. They were playing shows outside of Oxnard, recording at studios like Fat Planet, and putting out records. This era of No Motiv helped pave the way for the next generation of Nardcore bands to carry the torch that was lit by the OG bands, like Ill Repute, Dr. Know, and Agression.
“Never Ending Cloudy Day”, from No Motiv , has always been one of those songs that you always remember. The electrifying melody and important message is something that will live forever.
Never Ending Cloudy Day” (2024) is available now on all major streaming platforms via Wiretap Records.
We recently had the opportunity to check out the single and video , for “Happy Never After” , from Toronto, based singer-songwriter, musician, and recording artist, CMAGIC5, ( they call her C) You can listen to “Happy Never After” on Spotify Here , Apple Music, Here . You can also watch the video below
With an infectious energy and a rock ‘n’ roll spirit, C writes edgy, power pop, punk-flavoured soundtracks that embrace the highs and lows of coming-of-age and celebrate your inner rebel. Her incredibly catchy anthems with soulful vocals get your heart pumping and invite you to channel that “main character energy.”
We absolutely love the vibe of , CMAGIC5, she has a vibrant tone that we can’t ignore, “Happy Never After”, had us hanging on every word and singing our heart out
Her single, “Happy Never After” marks the beginning of a new CMAGIC5 era. The title-track from her upcoming EP, crafted alongside Grammy-nominated and Juno-winning producers, “Happy Never After” was born out of a desire to break free from the clichés of fairy tale romances and unrealistic standards of relationships portrayed on social media. Putting an angsty twist on the classic “happily ever after,” the songwriter shares, “I wanted to create a song that reclaims power after heartbreak, turning pain into empowerment. The idea sparked during a late-night writing session where the concept of a modern-day “anti-fairytale” resonated deeply. Drawing from personal experiences and stories of others navigating toxic relationships, the song evolved into a fierce anthem of self-love and strength.”
Flipping the script on fairy tale romances, “Happy Never After” features razor-sharp lyrics and a contagious modern pop-rock beat, capturing the fallout of heartbreak with sass and unrelenting honesty. Capturing that sense of rebellion, it’s empowering and unapologetically catchy, with a fierce energy that will have you ready to scream along with every word. The song radiates catharsis, blending a punchy pop-rock sound with raw emotion. With its driving guitar riffs and huge drums, it’s reminiscent of early Avril Lavigne and modern Olivia Rodrigo. It feels like a nostalgic pop-rock anthem from the 2000s, reimagined with a fresh, bold perspective. This is your breakup anthem of the year—because not every fairytale ends in “happily ever after.”
The artist explains, “I created a track that’s a celebratory anthem for moving on from toxic ex-lovers, friends, or bosses—those people who play the role of “Prince Charming” or “Romeo,” but you can foresee the signs and know exactly how that last chapter of the story will end, unless you recognize the cues and opt out before the hurt. It’s all about empowering yourself and others to avoid getting hurt again and walking away before it’s too late.”
accompanying music video for “Happy Never After” reimagines Alice in Wonderland into a dark and twisted, Tim Burton-esque world. C plays Alice as she falls into this chaotic, whimsical realm, where she encounters a seductive, manipulative Mad Hatter who embodies the toxic allure of unhealthy love. Alice battles the Hatter’s temptation, navigating a world of distorted visuals, oversized objects, and vibrant chaos. The song’s cathartic anthem builds to a climactic moment where Alice burns the “Happy Never After” book in a witch’s cauldron, symbolizing her escape from the false fantasy of perfect love.
CMAGIC5, is artist in every sense of the word and it is on grand display with “Happy Never After” We have a feeling CMAGIC5, is just getting warmed up.
L-R: Nate Mangold, Jackson Roemers, and Fabian Angel
Performing at both DC (June 14-15) and Orlando (Nov 15-16)
“We are very excited to play Warped Tour,” exclaims Northern California‘s favorite alt-rock/pop punk trio StrateJacket. “Back in 2020 playing this specific festival was on our imaginary list of things we believed would be impossible but truly badass if they ever happened. We feel honored to have been chosen for the 30th anniversary and we’ll play our hearts out when the day arrives. Thank you, Vans thank, you Warped Tour!”
Hot on the heels of the release of their debut album Bad Start (released last October viaEDGEOUT), the band–Jackson Roemers (lead vocals/guitar), Fabian Angel (vocals/bass), and Nate Mangold–are continuing to add to their live performance repertoire after their vibrant live sets at prestigious festivals like SXSW, Welcome to Rockville, Omaha’s KIWR’s Summer Bash(opening for The Offspring), headlining the Hurley Stage at the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, CA and Sacramento’s Aftershock Festival in 2024. Before the band hits the Vans stage, they’ll also be joining up with the rising punk rock act Winona Fighter for a handful of supporting dates in California in February, including San Diego(February 22); Anaheim (February 23); Los Angeles (February 25); and rounding it out in Berkeley on February 26.
Bad Startcaptures the zest of young adulthood at its best. There’s the shout-at-the-heavens title track “Bad Start” (originally featured on EA Sports’ NHL24 Soundtrack in tandem with NHL24’s Playlist last year), the ultra-melodic “Be My Drug,” the propulsive, chant-ready fight song “End of Time,” and the newest single “Dreamcatcher” which features a killer bass line by Angel, all of which overflow with dark humor and contain the sort of electric energy that has hyper-charged the Bay Area’s punk and alternative scenes for decades.
StrateJacket has a super charged sound that is in full effect on “Bad Start” . They are a band that will absolutely electrify the Vans stage .

We are so excited for Chum Huffer , and their highly anticipated third studio EP, Slaughterhouse Five, on their own DWY Records, in May 2025. Inspired by Kurt Vonnegut’s classic novel, the EP’s title track draws eerie parallels between the chaos of the book’s wartime setting and the unrest in today’s world.
“With everything happening around us, it feels like we’re unstuck in time—just like Vonnegut’s character Billy Pilgrim,” says the band. “This record explores the battle between past and future, reality and illusion, and what it means to hold onto your own sense of morality.”

We were absolutely enthralled with “WTF”, Adios Fatso , is a band who has one of the most unique sounds we’ve heard . Not only do we get the kick ass new single, “Left Me Hanging “ – But…. We also got a blazing hot video , directed by Jeff Antons , that you can check out above.
Vocalist/guitaristShane Finch says, “Our newest song Left Me Hanging was recorded at Buzzbomb Studios in Orange County with Producer Paul Miner. We’ve worked with Paul in the past and it’s always a good balance of creative freedom while also knowing you have the support you’ll need for those areas that still need growth. Also just a great, fun time!
This song was actually the first we have recorded with our current drummer Jeff Antons. Jeff has been in the band for a few years now so it was great finally getting to see his songwriting abilities come to life
Lyrically, I think this song is pulled from a subconscious part of the brain. Sometimes songs are our own truth and sometimes they are told from a fictional point of view, or perspective of someone else’s experience. I think Left Me Hanging is a combination of all of those things. My own experiences may have planted the seed and then I just imagine if that had grown into larger feelings.
Signing with Wiretap is a great accomplishment for us. When you meet someone through music that likes it enough to invest time and effort into it, it is a feeling we might be onto something. We look forward to working with them more in the near future!”
Pinstock, has a sound and dynamic that is simply epic , pulling from different musical styles allows the band to come at the listener at different angles and we think that because of that, the band really stands out in a sea of somewhat mundane musical offerings.
We recently had the extreme pleasure of checking out the new album “The Speed Of Lies” , from Trois-Riveres , Quebec , Canada, skatepunk band 2Fast4U. You can listen “The Speed Of Lies” Here
We have said it before and we feel it bears repeating…. Melodic skate punk is an art form. 2Fast4U, who have been perfecting their craft since 1996 have created a museum worthy collection of songs with their latest “The Speed Of Lies” .
There is so much punk goodness coming out of “The Speed Of Lies “ , listening to the album is pure heaven.

On a record like “The Speed Of Lies” it is next to impossible to pick a favorite track . But… if we had to pick one it would be “Mother’s Day”, there is just something really special about this track. It really shows that 2Fast4U” is a band with many different sides and we love that . ( and the overall groove is amazing) .
We can’t think of a better way to spend 33 minutes of our day than listening to “The Speed Of Lies “ from 2Fast4U.

The EP. was originally recorded in the winter of 2004, a single cassette copy was made , lost , then found it twenty years later.
We were immediately enthralled with “Motion Blur”, Old Town Crier ( Jim Lough) has an honest and authentic sound and message that as a listener , you can’t help but connect with .
The opening track “Back Door” is a brilliant melody filled with alt-country feels and stunning punk sensibilities , which are woven perfectly within “stop you in your tracks “ perfect vocals.
The melody of “Rebecca” greets you like a smile from the prettiest girl at the dance . We must confess we hit repeat on this one many , many times.
The driving backbeat of “Country Boy” grabs your ears immediately. We love the musical energy on this one .
The EP, closes with the rousing,”RealGood Friend” , we found ourselves tapping along and singing to this well crafted gem almost instantly.
The town crier was used to make public announcements in the streets. Old Town Crier ( Jim Lough) artfully uses his voice and music to announce his views and thoughts in to the world, this is heard loud and clear on “Motion Blur”
Recently while waiting for appointment a gentleman struck up a conversation with me about music . He boldly proclaimed that “Punk Was Dead” and he hadn’t heard a good punk band since 1991 . Well obviously he was wrong (in our opinion ) He also obviously hasn’t heard of Tacoma Washington trio Let Me Downs, who has been delivering kick ass punk rock since 2019. We recently got the stellar opportunity to check out their new LP “North By Southwest “ which is now out via Felony Records.
You can listen to “North By Southwest “ on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here

“North By Southwest”was recorded at Razors Touch Studios in El Cajon, CA, and was engineered and produced by Chad Ruiz (Urethane, Skipjack). Mastered by Scott Hallquist (Ten Foot Pole, DC Fallout).
Let Me Downs , manage to construct a familiar but unique sound that is 100% all their own and we love every freaking minute of it.
If punk rock is your thing, you owe it to yourself to clear your schedule and completely surround yourself in the punk brilliance that is “North By Southwest “ The album doesn’t have a single back track, it’s truly 30 minutes of punk nirvana .
Some of our favorite tracks include “Broken Promises” ( We love the melodic driving beat ) , The opening guitar on “Home Sweet Home “ is literally a thing of punk beauty. With A Wilhelm Scream’sTrevor Reilly behind the console and with the addition of a new member,OH THE HUMANITY , stepped outside the box, and delivered what they collectively feel is their most significant release to date. ( we completely agree)
“Ground To Dust” is loaded with ripping guitars, big hooks and gut-wrenching lyrics, this record has something for everyone.

We recently had the absolutely stellar opportunity to check out the new single “I Hate The Summer” from Vicenza, Italy-based band Hearts Apart, via Epidemic Records
We are 100% all in on the new explosive punk and roll track “I Hate The Summer “ the energy and vibe that Hearts Apart brings is positively electric.
Photo: Alessandro Digiuni
When asked about the single the band shares: I Hate The Summer is a song that encapsulates much of what Hearts Apart is about: punk rock, desperation, rock’n’roll, sadness, fun, nerdy vibes, irony, failure. Yes, we believe you can sweat away the darkness by dancing and crying at the same time, and this song is perfect for that.”
Those who have already appreciated Hearts Apart’s electrifying energy, catchy melodies, and engaging live performances will be thrilled with this comeback. All the signature elements of their unique sound are present but cranked up to the next level. If “I Hate The Summer” sets the perfect mood for this return, the entire EP, titled“Summer Bummer,”is ready to give voice to the mix of conflicting emotions that summer tends to amplify.
Hearts Apart ( Checco, Giò, Punch, and Silva.) are a highly skilled and energized band that we feel are just getting Rev’d up. We absolutely can’t wait for more from Hearts Apart.

When we check out a new EP, we also try to pick out our favorite track ( which on a quality body of work like “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is “ , is almost impossible to do ) but, the track that really stood out for us is the lead single “Streetlights”, this track is an addictive song that lived on repeat for us.
If it is grade A high quality skate punk that you desire, then look no further than Teeth Out and their brilliant new EP, “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is “

We recently had the chance to check out the latest EP “LOUDER/FASTER/SADDER”, via We’re Trying Records, from Nashville skate punks 95COROLLA.
You can listen to “LOUDER/FASTER/SADDER” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here.
On February 4th, 2023, 95COROLLA self-released The Loud Fast Sad EP to all their friends in Nashvilles. It represented the beginning of the band escaping from Kristy Garrett’s laptop and into the world. It was done hastily, and with reckless abandon.
The new EP is louder, faster, and sadder with one more song. LOUDER / FASTER / SADDER is the end of a chapter for the band and an end of a wild year in general.
95COROLLA is a band that is clearly finding their next gear . “LOUDER/FASTER/SADDER “ is a textbook example of a band who is evolving and pushing through to the next level and… it sounds freaking amazing. We fell instantly for every track however, if we had to pick our favorite track it would be without question- “10 And 2” – The song is a well written gem that showcases the band at their absolute best.
Along with the EP, 95COROLLA will also be releasing their album LONG TIME LISTENER / FIRST TIME CALLER on transparent purple vinyl .
Every song on “LOUDER/FASTER/SADDER is a sonic and melodic work of art . If music is what your soul craves then you need to get lost in the magic that is “LOUDER/FASTER/ SADDER
We recently had the beyond amazing opportunity, to check out the new split EP , “Bridges And Tunnels “ from Long Island’s- Gone Stereo and New York City’s – Something Bitter . You can listen to the epic collection of songs that is “Bridges And Tunnels” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here

Gone Stereo- Courtesy Of The Band
We absolutely love Gone Stereo, they have such a one of a kind sound that grabs you immediately , they have released “Sad Turtles” and “Cut the Rope” as part of the split EP. These tracks were recorded at VuDu Studios, where they were produced, mixed, and mastered by the talented Frank Mitaritonna, known for working with such luminaries as Thought Crimes,The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Hopesfall.
If you are familiar with The Whole Kameese, you know that when we hear something that we like , we want to shout it from the from the rooftops….. The bass line on “Sad Turtles “ is absolutely mind blowing, it sets the tone for a phenomenal track. Everything on this track is pure melodic pop punk perfection the melody , the guitars everything. If you’re not singing along to “Sad Turtles” by time the chorus kicks in you need to seek medical attention. “Sad Turtles” may explore themes of being lost and yearning for belonging, ultimately it is kick ass Saturday night song about getting wasted .
The other track from Gone Stereo, “Cut The Rope”, is a driving that has Gone Stereo, firing on all cylinders.
“Cut the Rope” tells a story about a mystical woman. The song’s melody is haunting and atmospheric, with a sense of mystery and intrigue. Overall, Gone Stereo’s new songs showcase their ability to blend different genres and create a unique, familiar, and fresh sound, and we loved every freaking minute of it.
The next two tracks on “Bridges And Tunnels”, are from Something Bitter, a melodic punk-rock band from New York City, Something Bitter deliver a high energy sound that artfully showcases their “Next Level “ musicianship. They have given us two kick ass tracks as their contribution to “Bridges And Tunnels” – “The Ends “ and “Milo Goes Fight Club” .
These tracks were independently recorded and mixed by singer/guitarist Russ Worstell, and mastered by Frank Mitaritonna.
Something Bitter, Courtesy Of The Band
The melodic tone and vocal performance coupled with an addictive melody on “The Ends “, instantly made us take notice.
“The Ends” is a song about loss and gaining something in the process. It’s about realizing that the effort you’re putting into something isn’t working out — work, a relationship, a Rubik’s cube, or any other pursuit — and that you were never the right person. Because while your world outlook isn’t bleak, it isn’t roses and candy floss. The final track on “Bridges And Tunnels”, is the powerful, “Milo Goes To Fight club” This song is an absolute sonic and melodic gem .
“Milo Goes to Fight Club”, is a song about that dude we’ve all encountered who lives to make other people’s lives miserable. You know, that schoolyard bully, that jerk in the street late on a Friday night who just wants to pick a fight to feel better, that cop who loves their badge a little too much. It’s a reminder that being kind and decent is what gives you a decent life, not being that guy. Besides having a phenomenal title, what we really loved about “Milo Goes To Fight Club “ , is the brilliantly crafted lyrics. We are big fans of lyrics and “Milo Goes To Fight Club” is a lyrical masterpiece.
GoneStereo and Something Bitter have delivered a future classic with their split EP, “Bridges And Tunnels “
We recently had the stellar opportunity to check out the new single and video for “In The Throes” from Salt Lake City , Utah , melodic punk band Bridge The Gap. You can check out “In The Throes” Here You can also check out the video below.
Bridge The Gap returns this spring with powerful new LP“Gainsayer”
Look we are going to cut right to chase, if melodic punk is your thing , you need to check out the phenomenal new single “In The Throes “ from Salt Lake City punks Bridge The Gap. (Vocalist/guitaristChad Jensen , Bassist/vocalistShon Foster and drummer/vocalistRyan Thompson) Not only do they have a kick ass new single with “In The Throes “ but they also have a new LP arriving in the spring, their sophomore full-length, Gainsayer, their highly anticipated follow-up to Secret Kombinations.
Recorded at the renowned Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO, and produced by punk rock legend Bill Stevenson (Descendents, Black Flag), with mixing and mastering by GrammyAward winner Jason Livermore (Rise Against, Hot Water Music), Gainsayeris a thrilling new chapter in the band’s sonic evolution.
The album’s first single “In The Throes” is now streaming everywhere. You can check it out Here and you can watch the music video Here
The band says, “”In The Throes” deals with the topic of battling inner demons and searching deep to find the resolve to overcome them. Hopefully, the song is relatable and inspires some hope, not only that there are literally millions of people going through such struggles but also that there might be a way through without succumbing to the worst of it. We chose In The Throes to be our first single because it’s an accurate snapshot of what fans and listeners can expect to hear from Gainsayer as a 14-song album. This was our second time working with Bill and our friends at the Blasting Room, and they really turned it on for us with Gainsayer. We spent a lot of time with Bill getting the vocal ideas for “In The Throes” ironed out and tracked, and we’re stoked with how it all shook out.”
The band adds, “In the video, we’re not depicted with our figurative knives out, battling demons. Rather, the “In The Throes” video was meant to show our fans that we’ve been ‘in the throes’ of making this music together for decades now, working out our artistic impulses and creativity dating back to the late ‘90s. It’s a kind of then-and-now showcase of where we started as a band and where we are today. Our buddy Alaric from Gearly Beloved Productions helped us make this video, shooting the band performing the song live at a show we played with Chaser in Salt Lake City, juxtaposed with a host of old VHS clips we had digitized from the ‘90s and ‘00s. This was the third time we’ve worked with Alaric on a music video and it was a blast, as always.”
“In The Throes” from Bridge The Gap, is absolutely perfect. We can’twait for “Gainsayer”

We recently had the absolutely amazing opportunity to check out the debut album “One Cut Away From Love” via Punkerton Records from Jacksonville,Florida based punks , KNIVES.
You can listen to “One Cut Away From Love “ Here . You can order the LP (Vinyl/CD ) Here
First things first…. We freaking love absolutely everything about KNIVES. We love the sound the vibe …. EVERYTHING. These guys ( DannyAttack – Vocals/GuitarBrendan Morrison – Screams/GuitarAdam Johnson – Bass Josh Kidd – Drums) ) are the real deal and then some. The combination vocals of Danny Attack and screams of Brendan Morrison, make KNIVES one of the most versatile punk bands out there.
KNIVES was originally meant to be a one-show project. But the self-proclaimed “boys of summer” quickly realized they were onto something more. Soon after, they added Josh Kidd (Drums) and Adam Johnson (Bass) to complete the lineup. With soul-baring lyrics, blood-curdling screams, infectious grooves, and catchy melodies, the sky is the limit for this up-and-coming pop-punk juggernaut.
We were in pure punk rock bliss, as we made our through “One Cut Away From Love” Every song hit just right, half way through listening our fingers got tired from hitting repeat so many times.
“Moments”, “KNVS, “Oh This Sin Of Mine” are just a few of our favorite tracks. If we had to pick our favorite ( So hard to do) it would without a doubt be “Ghost”. “Ghost “ is KNIVES at their absolute hands downs best.
Do Yourself a favor and check out “One Cut Away From Love “ from KNIVES, you will be in punk rock heaven.

Bad Choices Good Times (out November 15 via Australia’s Pee Records/Bearded Punk/Cat’s Claw/Double Helix)is a mixed bag of party favours and adults-only treats that will leave you thinking, “This ain’t no children’s party, but someone should really be supervising this.”
Ebolagoldfish, have a style and vibe that you just can’t resist. As soon as we heard the opening track “No Fear No Fun” we were in for an epic good time and…. We were right.
The lead single and title track “Bad Choices Good Times”is, “about learning life’s lessons without distracting the class,”explains the band. “It celebrates the fun in failure and follows a familiar path: from hangouts to hangovers and poor decision-making, to facing our walk of shame, then embarking on a great adventure aboard the magical porcelain school bus.”

All of the songs are well written and crafted melodic gems that absolutely kill . From top to bottom “Bad Choices Good Times “ is phenomenal. “Powers”,”Dreams”, “Inner West Side Story “ and “WWGD” are our personal favorites.

We recently had the extraordinary opportunity to check out the highly anticipated debut album “EXHIBITION” from Southeastern Michigan ska-punk band The Boy Detective, via Punkerton Records.
Known for their infectious ska-punk energy, wit, and dynamic performances, The Boy Detective is making waves as one of Southeastern Michigan’s most exciting new bands.
Founded as a casual ska-punk project between friends Nic Good and Benny Capaul, The Boy Detective has grown from playful studio sessions into a full band, amassing a loyal following. Since their live debut in 2022, the band has evolved with a rich lineup, including saxophone and trombone players who add layers to their unique, humor-filled sound. After signing with Punkerton Records in 2024, they began work on “Exhibition”, a landmark record that captures the spirit and vitality of ska-punk today.
First things first, never mind how freaking amazing The Boy Detective, can we talk about their amazing song titles . Holy smokes these guys are freaking geniuses. In all seriousness, “Exhibition” is an incredible record from top to bottom. We consider ourselves super lucky to be able to check out the new EP “Thirty Years :Speaking To The Youth from legendary Arizona punk rock band Authority Zero (SpoilerAlert , this EP is absolute fire!)
You can listen to “Thirty Years:Speaking To The Youth Here You order the absolutely beautiful vinyl Here
We can’t believe it’s been thirty years of absolutely incredible music from Authority Zero. And based on their blazing new EP, “Thirty Years:Speaking To The Youth they sound better ever !
The EP, titled “Thirty Years: Speaking to the Youth,” is “essentially about believing in yourself and fighting for what you believe in,”frontman Jason DeVore says. “Whatever that may be.”
The lyrics reflect on the world he sees around him through the filter on his own experiences.
It’s about the journey of this life and the awareness of it all,”he says. “Each moment good or bad. If there’s something that you love and feel a strong conviction about, don’t be afraid to stand up and speak about it, fight for it, be heard, and ultimately live and embrace it in its entirety.”
DeVore, bassist Mike Spero, guitarist Brandon Landelius and drummer Chris Dalley spent a week in Arizona writing “30 Years,” their first new music since the 2021 release of “Ollie Ollie Oxen Free.”
“So, it’s really what Authority Zero sounds like right now when you put the four of us in a room for a week,” DeVore says.
The bandmates then spent two weeks with producer Cameron Webb, who also took the helm on “Ollie Ollie Oxen Free” and 2013’s “The Tipping Point” at Maple Studios in Santa Ana, California.
We absolutely cannot get enough of this new EP , right from the first note on “A Change In The Tide” we found ourselves in the presence of absolute punk rock goodness.
We love the energy on “Lights Out”, in our opinion, this song is best enjoyed with the windows in your car down and the volume all the way up . We got lots of looks dancing it out at red lights but who cares? …. If you can’t dance it out to an amazing song… what’s the point?
We love the ska/reggae feel on “Ways To Wage A War” Authority Zero absolutely shines on this amazing track.
With six amazing songs , it is almost impossible to pick a favorite but, if we had to… it would be without question “Long Way To Go” , we love everything about this song . Sonically and melodically perfect… an absolute gem.
The message and vibe on “Second Chances” is absolutely on point , we really like the melody and vocals on this track.
The final track on the EP is the title track “Speaking To The Youth “ is an incredible groove that is overflowing with energy . We had this one on repeat for days.
“Thirty Years: Speaking To The Youth”, from Authority Zero is quite possibly the best way to spend 22 minutes of your day.

We recently had the stellar opportunity to check out the new single “Long Way To Go” from legendary Arizona punk rock band Authority Zero. You can listen to “Long Way To Go” Here
Not only are we getting a killer new single from Authority Zero, but the band is marking its 30th anniversary with the release of a new six-song EP titled Thirty Years: Speaking to the Youth, set to launch on November 1st.
On the new single “Long Way To Go” , frontman Jason DeVore says, “We’ve all been congested. We’ve all been broken at some point, and we’ve all been striving for a better day, every day. Unfortunately that doesn’t just magically happen. It takes work, it takes courage, and it takes consistency. Without that you’ll keep tripping up and taking steps backwards. It’s about realizing that if you change nothing, then nothing changes, so why would you not expect the same result time after time? You can’t just keep trying to convince yourself that everything’s fine and keep turning a blind eye to it, when you know it’s clearly not if you want change. Inner battles, social or political adversity, you name it. It will all just keep repeating itself until you start to recognize that a different approach is necessary. Even then, you’ve got a long way to go, and that is just the beginning.”
Authority Zero is one of those bands that absolutely brings it on every single song and, “Long Way To Go” is no exception. We are super excited for the new EP on November First .

We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the debut album “Life Of Sin” via JumpStart Records from four-piece Philadelphia, PA. Punks The Bad Ups (Travis, Chris, Mike and Sean) You can listen to “Life Of Sin” Here You can order the album Here
We are going to get right to the point… The Bad Ups absolutely freaking rock! From top to bottom their debut album “Life Of Sin” is 23 minutes of grade A high quality punk rock
There are shades of the Epitaph and Fat Wreck sound from the 90’s and early 2000’s However, The Bad Ups have a sound and vibe all their own.
We thoroughly enjoy the single “Better Than You” but that was only the tip of the punk rock iceberg. “Life Of Sin” is chock full of well written punk rock gems. “Underground” and “Ego Trip” are two extremely catchy songs that we can’t stop singing ( Thats a good thing)
If we had to pick a favorite (which is next to impossible with so many amazing songs ) But, the one song we can’t get enough of is “Future Sux” it is a well written song with an addictive melody and hook we absolutely love .
McKayle, who is of Jamaican descent, named the band The Bad Ups after the Caribbean patois term “baddup”—which means to treat someone poorly or violently. This name reflects their intense musical style and their ability to connect with the term’s cultural roots.
Since their formation in 2018, The Bad Ups have built a dedicated following and shared the stage with prominent acts like Face to Face,The Bouncing Souls, The Adicts, and Street Dogs. Their versatile sound appeals to various punk subcultures, from ska to oi, making them a versatile addition to many lineups.

We recently had the stellar opportunity to check out the new single “Meet Me At Garvies” from Long Island pop punk kings Gone Stereo. You can listen to “Meet Me At Garvies” Here
As soon as the drums hit on “Meet Me At Garvies”, we know we are in the presence of Pop-punk greatness. “Meet Me At Garvies has everything you could ever want in a pop punk gem . Great melody?- check! Great Hook ? – check! Killer three part harmonies? – check!
Recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Frank Mitaritonna at VUDU Studios, “Meet Me at Garvies” is another quintessential early 2000’s pop-punk, warped tour style tune that will have you dancing and singing along for days .
Gone Stereo (Matty Lupinacci, Chris Lynam, Mike Drinkwalter, Josh Freeman, and Danny DiGiuseppe) have amazing chemistry as a band and it really adds another dimension to their music .
Matty Says “My inspiration behind the lyrics for Meet Me at Garvies are my spontaneous and continuous thoughts about what, how and who. Throughout most of my life, It always felt like as soon as it comes, it was already gone. So, I took those feelings and that sentence and there you have it”
Great bands have the ability to an ordinary song and make it special. Gone Stereo is a brilliant group of musicians and “Meet Me At Garvies” is a special song .
We recently had the stellar opportunity to check out the new album “Find My Way” from Aussie melodic punk trio All Hope Remains. You can listen to “Find My Way” Here.
We were completely blown away by the new album “Find My Way via ( Pee Records/Disconnect Disconnect/Double Helix Records)from All Hope Remains. From note one All Hope Remains takes you on a melodic punk joy ride on “Find My Way “ that is absolutely breathtakingly brilliant.
“Find My Way” is melodic punk perfection 10 tracks of fast melodic punk rock, drenched in pop hooks and rhythmic breakdowns.
Drawing from the nineties punk template, All Hope Remains deliver their rapid-fire numbers with plenty of gusto and enthusiasm, littered with personal and social messaging.
From the opening track (Intro) that welcomes listeners to the ‘age of misinformation’, their lyrics often highlight some of the major points that are wrong about our modern world, whilst a majority of the lyrical content is mostly ‘personal’ in nature. Recent singles, ‘Burn’, ‘Mirror Mirror’ and ‘Standing By’, provide a good cross-section of what can be expected on this release, the best work yet from All Hope Remains.
Our favorite track on the new record is “Lights Out” the track is a blazing melodic delight and we loved every freaking second of it.
Run… Don’t Walk … And Check Out “Find My Way” from All Hope Remains .

Full Disclosure: Up until Friday September 6th 2024 we had never heard of KNIVES. So we hit play on the old video machine and well… We were completely blown away . “Oh This Sin Of Mine” from KNIVES is a complete punk rock masterpiece. Perfect melody and the two styles of vocals is just breathtakingly freaking awesome.
“Oh This Sin of Mine”, is the third single from their upcoming debut album “One Cut Away From Love” out on November15 via Punkerton Records. The song begins solemnly and builds methodically fully igniting as we reach the bitter end. The clinical dark lyricism of singer-songwriter DannyAttack grips tighter and tighter around your neck culminating with heart wrenching wails and blood curdling screams.
Formed in 2022 by songwriter Danny Attack (Vocals/Guitar) and Brendan Morrison (Screams/Guitar), KNIVES was originally meant to be a one-show project. But the self-proclaimed “boys of summer” quickly realized they were onto something more. Soon after, they added Josh Kidd (Drums) and Adam Johnson (Bass) to complete the lineup. We recently had the tremendous opportunity to check out the well crafted new record “Better Days” via Bloated Kat Records and Midnight Werewolf Records from Worcester, Massachusetts based Pop-punk band Hedge . ( Christopher , vocals, guitar, Pete, bass guitar and Julian, drums)
Hedge is one of those bands that have the ability to produce a memorable and catchy melody on every track, seriously we were singing along almost immediately. “Better Days is a treasure trove of pop punk goodness. Hedge also brilliantly mixes in a jangle pop sound similar to The Lemonheads . However, like most well put together bands , Hedge artfully presents a sound all their own .
“Better Days” was skillfully produced by Ezra Cohen. One listen to “Better Days” and it is crystal clear that Ezra definitely knows what buttons to push as he has the band sounding great on “Better Days”
From the first note on “Boulder Toss” we were completely captivated by honest and authentic sound of Hedge.
“SPF” (this song had a killer melody mixed with an addictive guitar riff. The title track “Better Days” is definitely a defining moment on the album. Hedge, displays expert musicianship on this track. We can not confirm or deny that we had an office dance party with “No Monsters” and “Bike Song “ It is almost next to impossible to pick a “favorite” song , especially with the quality of song assembled on “Better Days” but we without question have to say our favorite is “Peeling Back The Vines” We loved everything about this tune , the band was firing on all cylinders on this one.
From top to bottom Hedge has delivered an album in “Better Days “ that we think might be your new favorite album… You just don’t know it yet .
We just keep getting amazing music from Already Dead . We have been simply captivated by their stellar album “Something Like A War” now we get the spotlight single “Rock Bottom “
You can listen to “Rock Bottom” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here
Ok we’re going to cut right to the chase . “Rock Bottom “ from Already Dead kicks some major ass and it reminds us of a modern day “Blitzkrieg Bop”
On “Rock Bottom,” songwriter Dan Cummings relays tales of characters who climbed the career ladder to get to the top, only to have on-the-job injuries and medical conditions derail their entire lives. The Boston union pipefitter uses his keen sense of working conditions and job-site politics to humanize both characters’ rise and fall.

Rock Bottom’ is a reminder in humility for anyone grinding to get to that next social status or position. Remain honorable to those you came up with. You never know when something may happen which puts you right back where you started.” – Dan Cummings
So go ahead and turn it up real loud and enjoy “Rock Bottom “from Already Dead .
We recently had the most excellent opportunity to check out the new album “EXES “ from Los Angeles based pop-punktrailblazer deegie. You can listen to “EXES” Here.
We have to be honest… we freaking love “EXES” from Deegie. It is 10 tracks of pure pop punk genius.
The LP is a brutally honest collectionof 10 song sallabout the exploration of dating.Sonically daring, the music serves as both a time capsule of contemporary romantic struggles and a cathartic scream into the void for anyone who’s ever navigated the treacherous waters of modern relationships.
The idea for the EXES was sparked when deegie stumbled upon her online journals spanning nearly a decade, which included details about her past casual and serious relationships that were too good not to indulge in. From men who made it clear they never wanted to be serious, to clingy, cloying men who held her too tight, each song is an exploration of memory, accountability, and the perspective bestowed by time.
The songwriting and melodies on “EXES” are absolutely flawless. The record is personal and authentic. You can’t fake real and Deegie, has crafted an absolute gem of album .
There is also a relatability within the album, in that we have maybe been or know someone who has been in similar relationship situation.
Every song is pure pop punk perfection. We honestly can’t pick a favorite song , as every song is a work of art.
So find your favorite music listening spot and get lost in the greatness that is “EXES” from Deegie.
Philadelphia’s The Bad Ups will release their upcoming LP, ‘Life of Sin’ on September 27 via Jump Start Records
We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the new single “Ego Trip” from Philadelphia, PA Punks The Bad Ups
The Bad Ups have a blistering melodic catchy sound that is straight up phenomenal. We have played “Ego Trip” a million times and we can’t get enough of it .
Frontman Travis McKayle says,“‘Ego Trip’ is about finding your place in the world while staying true to yourself.”
The four-piece punk band draws heavy inspiration from the Epitaph and Fat Wreck bands of the 90s and early 2000s, while also embracing the rhythms of traditional ska and reggae. Channeling the spirit of Bad Brains, they blend these genres into a unique sound.
McKayle, who is of Jamaican descent, named the band The Bad Ups after the Caribbean patois term “baddup”—which means to treat someone poorly or violently. This name reflects their intense musical style and their ability to connect with the term’s cultural roots.
We are over the moon excited for the upcoming LP, ‘Life of Sin’ on September 27 via Jump Start Records. You can Pre order Here

You can listen to “Something Like A War “ on Spotify Here , Apple Music Here and Bandcamp Here

“Something Like A War “ grabs your attention right from the start . The Opening track “The Spirit Of Massachusetts Avenue” is a well written , loud and proud anthem of a song that doesn’t let up for a second.
Every single song on “Something Like A War” is brimming with authenticity and truth . It is crystal clear that vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Dan Cummings is not afraid to speak his mind (there is no sugar coating going on at all ) He has also assembled a group of musicians ( Brandon Bartlett, guitar, Brian Ferrazzani, bass and Nick Cali, bass) that add the perfect punch and attitude to his powerful lyrics.
Something Like A War, both the song and the album, are filled with the type of intensity we all need in facing our daily lives – and maintains the Already Dead working class ethos, positioned steadfast as a voice for labor movements and working class solidarity. And besides, there’s no chance of a sophomore slump when the moniker is nicked from baseball, yet another way Already Dead areembedded in Boston culture. “I was watching the Ken Burns documentary on baseball,” Cummings admits, “and heard the Ty Cobb quote about how ‘every game is something like a war’. It immediately resonated with me for a few reasons .First it just sounds badass [laughs]. But also to describe approaching something with that kind of intensity and determination struck a chord.”
What we love about “Something Like A War” is that it is a record that is full of brilliantly constructed songs . We live in era where everyone is going for the “single” it’s a nice change of pace to hear an album that kicks ass from top to bottom . From “One Foot”, “Rock Bottom” , “Wits End”and our personal favorite “When You were Great” Something Like A War “ is an album that needs to be heard and played loud .
We recently had the chance to check out the new single “Lights Out In The Reptile House” from iconic ska punk band Save Ferris . The band is lead by Monique Powell. Save Ferris has an electrifying sound and we are beyond thrilled that they have a new single and video .

We recently had the opportunity to check out the track and video for “Pop Punk Fuck Up”
You can listen to the song Here You can also check out the video below
Los Angeles-based pop punk outfit Cold Weather Kids is excited to release their brand new single “Pop Punk Fuck Up” via Revival Recordings.
The single speaks to a feeling that many may feel with themselves and the world around them. When discussing the inspiration behind the track, vocalist Ryan Solava stated, “Experience the raw, unfiltered emotion of “Pop Punk Fuck Up,” a new anthem for those grappling with life’s relentless challenges. With candid lyrics that delve into mental health struggles and self-realization, this track captures the essence of the pop punk genre, blending angst with a touch of introspective humor. Don’t miss this unapologetically honest journey through the highs and lows of modern existence.”
When going through the concept of the music video for “Pop Punk Fuck Up”, Ryan said, “When writing it I just wanted to be relatable and there seems to be this stereotype that if you’re in your 30’s in a pop punk band. It’s like a walking red flag.” But really the bottom line for the band was to make a video that was fun but also true to how they live their lives. “It’s easy to hate, sometimes even fun cause it probably makes others feel better about their lives in comparison. So rather than complain about our problems, we’d rather acknowledge that we’re just going do us and accept everybody has problems and nobody cares,”Ryan continued.
There is this real no B.S. authenticity with “Pop Punk F#%k Up” Cold Weather Kids do a brilliant job of not only keeping it real but doing it with a killer sound and melody
We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the new video for “The Spirit Of Massachusetts Avenue “ from Massachusetts punk band Already Dead ( spoiler alert: It freaking kills , so good)

We have said in the past and we’ll probably say it another 1000 times but, we listen to a lot of music here at The Whole Kameese (We’re a music blog it’s what we do ) However there is something really special about “The Spirit Of Massachusetts Avenue “ There is an old expression “Four Chords And The Truth “
The truth is brilliantly delivered on “The Spirit Of Massachusetts Avenue .
photo credit- Roberto Terrones @ Berto Media
The video does a tremendous job of providing the perfect visual for a phenomenal song . The video was directed by the band’s longtime collaborator, Berto Media.
“The Spirit of Massachusetts Avenue” is the explosive lead single to the acclaimed band’s new album, Something Like A War, set for release on July 26.
Like many who travel up and down “Mass. Ave.,” as it’s known by locals, Already Dead’s vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Dan Cummings was struck by the differences from one part of the city versus the other while the union pipefitter was working a Cambridge job in 2017.
“The song is an observation that just one road can be two separate worlds caused by social structures and allocations of resources,” Cummings says. “And it delivers a very deliberate ‘#!$& you’ to those who have the power to change things in one of these worlds for the better, but choose not to.”

“The Spirit Of Massachusetts Avenue” is Already Dead at their absolute best . “The Spirit Of Massachusetts Avenue” will stay in your soul long after the music has ended .

You can also check out the phenomenal record, where “Tree’s Sway “ is from – “Night Owls” on DSP’s Here
Cabezas shares, “I was gifted the song in a dream and woke up abruptly, turned to Kelly and said, ‘Turn your phone audio record on, I’ll be right back.’ I grabbed a guitar and played the whole thing, front to back, complete with lyrics in one go. That became the song, and when she sang it for the record, it took on a life of its own.”
We loved “Trees Sway” from the first time we heard it. We are simply over the moon , that there is now a visual for the track .
The band is set to embark on The Wrapped In The Sunshine Tours, hitting the West Coast in June with Diesel Boy and Go Betty Go on select dates, and East Coast dates in July with The Boreouts and Soraia. The full list of tour dates is below, and tickets are available Here
Ahead of the June shows, the band will be releasing a limited edition 7-inch single on colored vinyl via Wicked Cool Records, featuring two brand new tracks produced by the band and longtime collaborator John Fields (Meet Me At The Altar, Jimmy Eat World, Soul Asylum).
We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the latest single “Hate You Sober” from Chicago Pop-punk band featuring Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills .
MEST will release the new album ‘Youth’ via SBÄM Records on June 21.
Following last month’s release of the lead single “WHEN WE WERE YOUNG” (feat. Jaret Reddick from Bowling For Soup), MEST has just debuted the second single, “HATE YOU SOBER” (ft. Spencer Charnas ofIce Nine Kills. The track delves into the theme of a toxic relationship, depicting how one might endure it by numbing themselves with alcohol, while also exploring the journey towards summoning the courage to break free from the toxicity.
Speaking on the recording of the new album, founding member and front man Tony Lovato says, “The drives to the studio were about an hour and 20 minutes long. A lot of my inspiration for this record was found on those drives. I would just listen to all the records that I grew up listening to. Which brought back a ton of memories. It would just put me in another state of mind. The majority of “Youth” was written up in the hills of Los Angeles where I recorded a bunch of our early records. I would get random flashbacks seeing spots I hadn’t seen in years. But as much as I love all the memories and stories of the past, I’m not one to think that the best days are over. I’m creating new core memories and living my life now, so that in 20 years I’ll look back fondly. The same as I do now. These songs are a cheers to the past with a here’s to the future.”
We are loving “Hate You Sober” from Mest featuring Spencer Charnas from Ice Nine Kills and we are counting the days till we can listen to “Youth” on June 21st.
We started The Whole Kameese back in 2020 as a way to keep busy during the pandemic. We are so lucky to have worked with so many wonderful artists, promoters and other music professionals. We were also so blessed to be able to share so much amazing music . We have made the difficult decision to put the blog on the back burner. At this time we need to focus on other important matters. We do not know how long we will be away but, we will return. We thank all of you for your support
It’s almost impossible not like F.O.D. , they have a style and sound that absolutely down right brilliant.
Infusing their sound with harmonies and catchy melodies, F.O.D. draws inspiration from legendary 90s predecessors like GreenDay, Descendents, Lagwagon, and BadReligion while adding their unmistakable twist.
From the opening track “Plain Sight” it is clear that F.O.D. Is showcasing their one of a kind energy on “The Once A Virgin Club” and we freaking love it .
The most recent album from the band, ‘Sleepville,’ transcended the confines of punk rock, guiding listeners through a musical odyssey complemented by an accompanying book. Unfortunately, due to the impact of Covid, it couldn’t have the release party and tours it rightfully deserved. With this new album ‘Once A Virgin Club’, F.O.D. returns to their roots with fast, catchy melodic punk rock songs.
The album title alludes to the band members aging, reminiscing about the time when they first formed a band as inexperienced youngsters (pre-FOD), eager to explore the world of music.
Our favorite track on the album is “Back To Where You Once Belonged “ The track is an absolute melodic gem, we found ourselves hitting repeat on this one quite a bit .
You can check out the video below
With flawless vocals and catchy melodies, “The Once A Virgin Club “ from F.O.D. Is a record you can’t miss.

We are 1000 percent over the moon about Dog Party’s new single and video for “Bullet In Disguise” The vibe and sound , everything is just absolutely electric.
Also, not to be lost in the shadow of an awesome new single… Dog Party , announced their seventh studio album Dangerous, which will be out digitally and on vinyl on May 17 via the newly formed Sneak Dog Records (founded by Dog Party and Lizzie Killian ( Teens In Trouble)
Loaded with raw emotion, “Bullet in Disguise” packs a mean punch, galloping over Western-tinged dark twang undertones. Vocalist/drummerLucy Giles takes the listener through the twisted torment of a deceitful romance as she chants, “Your love was nothin’ / your love was nothin’…” before wailing the chorus with vocalist/guitarist Gwendolyn Giles. The single is accompanied by a music video directed by Aja Pop (SOUL GLO, Teens in Trouble).
“It made sense for us to lead with “Bullet In Disguise” because it showcases the true Dog Party sound – catchy riffs, bombastic drums, and emotive belting,” said Lucy Giles. “‘Bullet In Disguise’ also gives the listener a glimpse of the elevated production of the album! It is a nice little teaser for what’s to come!”

New Album ‘Self-Maintenance’ Out April 12th, 2024 via SBÄM Records
We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the new single “My Favourite Place” via SBÄM Records from Munich based Cadet Carter, featuring Kayleigh Goldsworthy
You can listen to “My Favourite Place” Here You can also watch the video below
As of late the Pop Punk sound has definitely found its way back into mainstream music. While Munich based Cadet Carter consider themselves very much part of this genre, their sound is much closer to the likes of Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday than it is to artists like Machine Gun Kelly, Mod Sun and Avril Lavigne
The Munich-based band, fronted by Welsh lead singer Nick Sauter, has made quite an impact on the European music scene since starting out in late 2017. Their 2020 album Perceptions made it to #14 on the European Alternative Rock chart, and before the pandemic stopped all touring, the band played a ton of shows supporting artists like Touché Amoré, The Dangerous Summer, Stand Atlantic and As December Falls.
We absolutely love the latest single “My Favourite Place from Cadet Carter “ featuringKayleigh Goldsworthy. When the two join forces the results are absolutely stunningly brilliant.

The energy on “My Favourite Place” is absolutely off the charts . Cadet Carter are expert level musicians who craft well written songs with both memorable hooks and melodies that will keep you singing for days .
Kayleigh Goldsworthy’s flawless vocals on “My Favourite Place” gives the already amazing track an extra jolt ( and we love it)
CADET CARTER’s brand-new album Self-Maintenance, their first release with Austria-based Punk Rock label SBÄM will be out on April 12th. The new record is a collection of songs bursting with catchy melodies, clever arrangements, and heartfelt lyrics. “All these songs are like little odes to taking care of yourself and focusing on what’s good in life rather than letting the more gloomy side of your character win“, says Nick.
We are so excited for the new album! In the mean we will keep hitting repeat on “My Favourite Place.

We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the debut single “It Don’t Love You” from Seattle band Spiders from Uranus, the new project from former members of 80s PNW punk veterans Young Pioneers
You can listen to “It Don’t Love You” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here and you can check out the video below
We love everything about “It Don’t Love You” from Spiders From Uranus. They have a sound and a infectious DIY spirit that rings loud and clear on “It Don’t Love You”
Songwriter Chris Pugh formerly of Young Pioneers, Pet Projects, Creep, Saba, and many more. Pugh tapped longtime collaborators Colm Meek, who played with Pugh in Creep and Saba, as well as in a project called Heliotrope, and Scott Vanderpool, who played in Young Pioneers as well as Chemistry Set, to form Spiders of Uranus.
The album’s single “It Don’t Love You” is a flaming, raucous spin around the streets of a city that is not what you hoped it would be. “It’s about having your city grow and change and not be the place it once was. Having your city become a place that’s too expensive for weirdos and artists to thrive.” Pugh says of the song, which finds its hook in the contagious harmonies of Pugh and Vanderpool: “You love this city but it don’t love you.” Shame and disconnect rear their heads for the briefest moments, ugly truths delivered with fiery rock and roll that doesn’t wait for anything. At the end of it all, we’re left with the sense that in some reality, the weirdos and the artists are thriving; they’re leaving it all on the stage.

Since we first heard their debut album “Breathe” we instantly fell in love with their speedy and punchy punk rock sound. However, with their amazing new album acoustic EP eup•nea, they take us on a fresh acoustic journey. And… it is positively brilliant.
Melonball artfully presents a fresh perspective that navigates the delicate balance between mellowness and the spirited energy inherent in their punk roots.
The first single “Sinking” (Acoustic) featuring Vik from Deadends, shows off both Melonball’s amazing versatility and second to none musicianship.
What sets this EP apart is its ability to deliver a more nuanced and introspective view without diluting the potency of the band’s poignant political messages and social criticism. This EP shows Melonball’s artistic skill and proves that even in the unplugged realm, the passion of their rebellious spirit remains undiminished.

“Forget About It” from Bad Mary is the kind of song that reminds us why we love music in the first place . Flawless vocals coupled with an addictive melody and dead perfect drum beats , We will never forget “Forget About It” from Bad Mary.
Bassist Mike Staub explains, “Forget About It” is a song we’ve been playing in our sets for years. It’s probably the song that we have played the most as a band. An important part of every set, it’s been a crowd favorite forever. With Better(er) Days we really wanted to capture the live energy and the chaos of a song with less than two chords, one line of lyrics, and a one-note guitar solo”.
In addition to Staub (bass/vocals,Bad Mary is Amanda Mac (vocals), Bill Mac (drums), and David Henderson (guitar). Their songs have been a staple in rotation on SiriusXM’sUnderground Garage, they garnered the New Music Spotlight and Coolest Song In The World in 2023, and “Forget About It” is already getting airplay on Rodney Bingenheimer’s SiriusXM show. This tight-knit unit uses humor and the power of music to push back on all the negativity going on in the world.

First of all “4th Wall” from Blowfuse, is the kind of record that make people fall in love with Punk Rock . Theband has crafted an absolutely flawless collection of incredible songs .
The 4th Wall” is a look into Blowfuse’s naked mind. Its enigmatic cover art reflects a concept rather than just an image: the prison of perspective. The band’s new album aims to remind both the listener and the members themselves that freedom is a pendulum that swings between denial and acceptance. Side to side, relentless. And in that constant swinging we build the foundations of our identity from a young age. As an exercise in introspection, Blowfuse’s fourth album is, at its core, about hope. The hope that one day, each one of us will rise up and break out of our own prisons.
And when that happens, we will realize that the walls of our cells were just a matter of perspective. Taking this into consideration, it is logical that the band has defied all the genres previously associated with it. However, one thing is clear: energy and vitality are two adjectives Blowfuse will never be able to get rid of.
There is so many different vibes and sounds that are present on “4th Wall” Blowfuse mainly a punk band beautifully shows off their versatility with “4th Wall”
From the opening note of “Move On “ you can’t help but hopelessly fall in love with the perfect melodies of Blowfuse.
There honestly isn’t a bad song anywhere to be found on “4th Wall” “Wish”, “I Give You My Word”, are all well written songs that make “4th Wall” an epic listening experience.
Recorded at Music Lan Studi (Girona), EM Estudi (Terrassa) and Amplifire Studio (Barcelona) and mixed by Jason Livermore of The Blasting Room (CO, US) and mastered by Brian Gardner (US), the album is available on Sbäm Records (AU), HFMN CREW (SP),Infected Records (PT) and Epidemic Records (IT). We are all in on Blowfuse and their magnificent new record “4th Wall”

All four tracks on “Lost And Alone “ show a band in Go For Gold that are in top form
“Lost And Alone” is the kind of EP , that you can keep on constant loop and never tire of the dynamic sound of Go For Gold .

Band Fronted By Musician/Actor Thomas Nicholas of ‘American Pie’ / “Rookie Of The Year” Fame
We recently got a chance to check out the latest single “Better Than Home “ via Sbäm Records from Thomas Nicholas Band .
You can listen to “Better Than Home” Here and you can check out the lyric video below
Thomas Nicholas Band are currently writing original songs for their 7th studio album being produced by Taylor Carroll (LIT, Kemikalfire) in collaboration with artists such as, Jaret Reddick (Bowling for Soup), Ace Enders (the Early November), Tom Higgenson (Plain White T’s) Matthew Kennedy (The Dangerous Summer) Adrian Estrella (Zebrahead), Ajay Popoff (LIT), Andrew Goldstein and more
Thomas says, “While I was working in the studio with my producer Taylor Carroll (Kemikalfire, LIT), his friend Zac Barnett (American Authors) decided to stop by and say hello. Taylor grabbed a guitar and played him a chorus we were writing and before I knew what was happening, Zac started singing the melody what would become the opening versus for the song, “Better than Home”
I threw out some lyric ideas and then I tried to retract them because they were too personal … Zac immediately suggested that those were the best kind of lyrics and that I should write about what I’m scared to talk about. So here I am with my heart on my shirtsleeve with this song.
To really drive it all home, the artwork includes a reflection of the first place I lived. A double wide trailer outside of Las Vegas. I will also be heading to my other hometown of Santa Cruz to film in the parking lot of the Catalyst – a venue that I finally got to perform at last year with Bowling For Soup.”

We recently had the opportunity to check out the killer new album “So Many Ways..” from Brazilian punks Scumbags . You can listen to “So Many Ways..” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here
If we’re being honest … listening to “So Many Ways..” from Scumbags was probably the best 39 minutes and 56 seconds we have spent in a while .
“So Many Ways..” is the band’s second album and while it has the same melodiand sonic goodness from their first record “Sour Days” there is definitely signs of maturity on “So Many Ways”
“I think that since our first album, Sour Days, we have matured a lot in terms of composition and arrangements. We started hearing new references and brought them to our songs.” reports Chris Oliveira, the band’s drummer.
This maturity is already evident in production. Part of the album was recorded at Forest Lab, in Rio de Janeiro, a studio specialized in completely analog recording. And another part was recorded at Eletric Meduza, a recording studio located in Brusque, Santa Catarina, which also works with analogue elements in the recordings.
For Chris, the new songs will bring a different feel to what people are used to hearing in Scumbags. “The upcoming album will bring a new aesthetic to the band, a new sound. No longer the 90s punk rock that we are used to playing, but we are going to bring more risky and different things.”
Right from start, “So May Ways..”delivers … The title track“So Many Ways..” kicks off an album full of pure punk rock bliss.
Scumbags have a familiar sound but they have a style that is all their own, and it absolutely kicks ass .
Standout tracks on the album include “Elected”, “Sticks And Stones” , Through This Sidewalk and “Remedy”
So find a good spot and loose yourself in the punk brilliance of Scumbags.
We might be showing our age here but, we are absolutely over the moon excited that Southern California ska heroes Save Ferris have dropped their first new original song since 2017, the holiday single “Xmas Blue”, a lonely Christmas tale of a heart longing for a loved one who is not there.
Save Ferris leader Monique Powell said, “I wrote the song about someone I knew that went through a hard divorce, and even two years later was still so obsessed with his ex-wife that it was borderline stalking.”
Powell added, “I’m excited to give this present to fans as a warmup for what is to come in 2024 with all new music that I’ve been working on and is ready for release!”
Save Ferris teamed with the newly-launched music community platform We Are Giant to give fans a preview of the release.
“Social media is littered with so much other content that by partnering with We Are Giant, it allows me to directly connect with Save Ferris fans in a much more intimate way,”said Powell.
“Save Ferris’ die-hard fans are a testament to the important role the band has had in shaping ska music. Working with an artist like Save Ferris is a dream situation for us, as they’ve spent decades building and nurturing an incredible global fanbase. Our platform is built to help artists super-serve their top supporters in healthy and sustainable communities, and we’re excited to be working with a group that truly understands the importance of our mission,” said Andy Apple, Founder and CEO of We Are Giant.
Save Ferris has lined up two shows in early 2024, including an appearance at Cali Vibes Festival in Long Beach, CA on February 17. You can check out details below .
Save Ferris have a vibe and sound that is simply iconic. We are so happy to have this great holiday tune “Xmas Blue” and we can’t wait for more music in 2024
