The Massachusetts pop and R&B singer, actor, and dancer has a certain routine when she’s feeling a creative outburst, physically lying on the floor to write music and lyrics. It’s a spiritual ritual for the Medford native, most notably known for portraying Jill Hurley in the 2017 Boston Marathon bombing biographical drama film Stronger alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, and it’s one steeped in humility and compassion.
Both literal and metaphorical, the notion of going low to elevate her mindset is at the core of , “Once More”
‘Once More’ is about falling into failure or hard times, and finding the courage to always stand up just once more,”Forziati says. “It’s about finding the courage to get up and take action in life. It’s about resolution and release after recognizing hardships. Life is a dance, and in dance we take steps forward and steps back. As long as we’re moving, that’s the most important part.”
A former ballroom dance instructor, Forziati wrote “Once More” during one of the hardest periods of her life, experiencing personal and professional setbacks and enduring all the ups and downs that come with life in the 2020s. Going through a rollercoaster of emotions, she does what she always does in times of needed creativity – she gets down on the floor and writes.

We were instantly moved by the vocal stylings of Katzù Oso, on his stunning new single , “A Woman Like You”
The single is an ode to vulnerability in relationships. With warm acoustic melodies and an uplifting chorus, Katzù acknowledges the fear of not being enough for someone yet credits his partner for shaping him into the man he is today.
His melodic vocals and contemporary sounds are influenced by his multicultural upbringing in East LA and Boyle Heights. After the release of his two buzzworthy harmonic EPs, Colour, and Pastel, Katzù Oso takes us to another alternative dimension with his debut album, Tmí. Oso’s album is a timeline portal into his hero’s journey growing up in his Boyle Heights neighborhood.
His musical manifestations started with him writing his entire album in his bedroom to performing shows in his hometown, and later taking the stage at ACL, Tropicalia, and opening for Tyler the Creator. Signed to Cosmica Artists, he is currently working on his much anticipated second album and hopes to go deeper into the realms of his mulit-faceted universe.
Katzù credits his eclectic musical style and influences to romantic soulful Mexican singer, José José, psychedelic rock band, Tame Impala, iconic Mexican artist, Julieta Venegas, and many more. Katzù’s music highlights the experiences of being young, brown, and gifted in today’s America while breaking free from society’s stereotypical confinements with his euphonic charm.

With this debut album, a spectrum of styles and sounds that blends together funk, pop, indie, R&B, soul, Yacht Rock, ‘70s AM gold, Motown, and whatever else filtered through The Far Out’s unique sense of forward-motion retro-cool, the “New Act of the Year” recipient at the 2024New England Music Awards is ready to take things to the next level.
If you have been grooving to the singles , ( “Funkadelic Gas”, “Laurel”, “Packed To Go” and “See Red( You’re Dead” ) those are just the tip of the very funky iceberg.
Some of the other tunes that got us grooving, “Need A Win”, which is the absolute perfect song to kick off such a stellar album. “Lazy Lover” and “Putt Strut” If we were to pick our favorite on the record ( which is almost impossible to do ) we would without question choose, “Long Weekend “ ( the bass line is more decadent than any piece of chocolate we have ever had) “Long Weekend “ is straight up spectacular.
While the sound is varied and genre-hops from one beat to the next, a rare throughline across Greetings from The Far Out extends both in plain sight and lurking just below the aural surface. The record’s title and postcard artwork – as well as the stamp-themed art for the four singles, all designed by Olivia Lowe with design assistance from her brother Ezra Lowe – are a throwback to Bruce Springsteen’s 1973 debut Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. And Lowe admits there are some overarching lyrical elements at play across the eight tracks, though it takes a dedicated listen to delve deep beyond the upbeat music.

“Hard Is Hard “ from Tomás Doncker & The True Groove All – Stars is a brilliantly woven collection of soulful songs that are perfectly on point.
Tomás Doncker has long been a prime mover on the New York music, arts and culture scenes. From the early 1980s, as a member of groundbreaking No Wave and Punk Funk bands The Contortions and Defunkt, international touring, recording and songwriting collaborations with luminaries such as Bootsy Collins, Meshell Ndegeocello, Ivan Neville, The Specials and the legendary Ms. Patti Smith, to helming his own band, The True Groove All-Stars, Tomás has established himself as a cross-genre innovator without peer.
‘Hard Is Hard’ was produced with James Dellatacoma (Bill Laswell, Herbie Hancock) and mastered by Michael Fossenkemper (Paul Weller, LL Cool J, Miles Davis) and includes guest instrumentation from Frank Benbini (UB40, Fun Lovin’ Criminals), Adriano Rossetti-Bonell (UB40) and The Specials Horns. With elements of soul, blues, funk, rock and some jazz thrown in for good measure, ‘Hard Is Hard’ is a five-track masterclass in Doncker’s innate knack for genre fluidity. The EP lyrically explores themes of racial inequality, social injustice and keeping a positive mental attitude through hard times.

The lyric is a modern day riff on Marvin Gaye’s classic ‘What’s Going On’. Through an Afro Beat / Funk-Rebel music lens. It was designed to be a wake up call response to the seemingly increasing presence of social injustice in the world today. The hypnotic dub-funk groove is brought to the boiling point by the legendary Frank Benbini (Fun Lovin’ Criminals/UB40/Uncle Frank), who I’m thrilled makes a guest appearance on drums and hype vocals.”

When asked to describe the sound , Luke shares “It’s a retro sound. It’s a vintage sound but with a twist,”
Taken from his debut album, Something Good Out Of Nothing which will be released in two parts – Side A (release date: March 28) and Side B (to be released in Summer 2025), the single seamlessly balances the spiky, angular verses – that hearken the jazzy R&B vibe of Amy Winehouse – with Marzec’s warm gruff vocals alongside dreamy, reflective choruses and is his most refined and confident work yet. “Strings” from Michelle Forziati, caught our attention right from the start . We love the unique R&B / Alt sound on “Strings” it is a refreshing change of pace that is definitely needed in today’s musical landscape.
Melodically, “Strings” is a mesmerizing melody that Forziati, compliments with a flawless vocal performance.
“Strings” , is the follow-up to April’s “Stranger,” which found the multihyphenate creative – a former ballroom dance instructor who also played the role of Jill Hurley in the 2017 Jake Gyllenhaal-leading biographical drama film Stronger, about Jeff Bauman’s recovery in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing – taking her musical output to new, ambitious heights.
When asked about asked “Strings”, Forziati shared,
“I absolutely love guitars, they just speak to every part of me,”Forziati says. “The sounds they create are mesmerizing and almost put me in a trance. ‘Strings’ is about loving the sound of a guitar so much that the person playing it captivates me and I fall in love. However, it’s manipulative because the performer knows it and he abuses that love.”
The track also features guitar by Michael Strakus and bass by Steve Constantino, two players known in the Boston music scene for their work in Derek Smith and the CosmicVultures. “Strings”, was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Monty Dale at GraybeardRecording

Julia Raye has a soulful R&B-Pop sound that is absolutely stunning. and on full display on her latest single “Expectations” The new single, which was produced by Bret “Epic” Mazur (Crazy Town, Prince, Black Eyed Peas), is an alluring R&B-pop gem that highlights Julia’s impressive vocal range.
“I wrote ‘Expectations’ when I was feeling torn with the relationship I was in at the time,” she says. “I kept feeling so much pressure from both myself and the people around me. This song is my inner monologue as I try to figure out what my expectations are for us while navigating this relationship.”
Hailing from Long Island, New York, 23-year-old Julia Raye has been performing for as long as she can remember. She grew up taking dance classes, singing, and performing in local musical theater productions. By age 17, she had performed in over twenty musical theatre shows along with performances with the New York All State Choir and ACDA All National Choir. She went on to study vocal performance at the University of Michigan where she was able to learn from George Shirley, a pioneer in the opera world who became the first African-American to perform at the Metropolitan Opera.
From the first note we could tell that Julia Raye is a special talent with a voice that is impossible to forget. We loved “Expectations” and, we have a feeling Julia Raye is just getting warmed up .
We started The Whole Kameese back in 2020 as a way to keep busy during the pandemic. We are so lucky to have worked with so many wonderful artists, promoters and other music professionals. We were also so blessed to be able to share so much amazing music . We have made the difficult decision to put the blog on the back burner. At this time we need to focus on other important matters. “This song is about staying confident and comfortable in your own skin,” says Asher. “I’ve always promoted being yourself and having confidence in yourself. With all the hate and negativity on social media, this song is about flipping the switch on that and highlighting positivity.”
Born and raised in Paradise Valley, AZ, Asher has been destined for stardom from a young age. He honed his acting chops in local community theater before getting his big break in 2017 on Disney Channel’s Andi Mack. In the years since, the now 21-year-old Asher has continued to come into his own as an all-around creative force. He has starred in films like Shazam!, Shazam! Fury of Gods, On Fire, and Darby and the Dead(which featured his original song, “One on One”), and has released a number of hit singles.
His 2019 collaboration with Wiz Khalifa, “One Thought Away,” became the number one trending YouTube video for 3 days, and has amassed over 12 million streams to date. He followed up the release of “One Thought Away” with singles like “Chills,” “All Day,” and “Guilty,” under the supervision of music legend LA Reid and his Hitco record label.
