We recently had the extreme honor of checking out the new record “Soap Box Hero” from San Diego punks, Punchcard, via Felony Records . You can listen to “Soap Box Hero”Here
We are still buzzing from Punchcard’s single ,”Stealing My Identity” to get a whole album. feels like a gift from the punk rock gods . Right from the first note on the opening track” “Die” , Punchcard, comes out firing on all cylinders and it is a thing of beauty.

Formed in San Diego in August of 2006, Punchcard emerged on the San Diego punk scene with a fast, melodic and technical punk rock style. Over the course of nearly the next 2 decades, they’ve built a signature sound unique to themselves, all the while keeping true to the genre. Their songs have something for everyone as they emphasize political fallout, social instability, and personal mistrust. all with a dose of sing-along vibes, and passionate taunts.
If you look up a picture of a well rounded, melodically perfect and killer riff filled punk album, we are pretty sure you would see a picture of the “Soap Box Hero” album cover , Punchcard have delivered big time !
One of our favorites is “PBR”, not only are vocals absolute fire but we are completely obsessed with the amazing melody – freaking brilliant.
There is no shortage of electrifying energy on “Soap Box Hero” , “Mucho Dinero” and “You Sure About That” ,have enough frantic punk energy to light a small city .
The title track, “Soap Box Hero” , is a straight up anthem, and showcases Punchcard at their very best and the guitar work is absolutely genius.
Just when you think that the record couldn’t get any better , Punchcard deliver an epically awesome cover of the 1992 alt classic “What’s Up”, from 4 Non Blondes– freaking phenomenal.
So your punk loving heart a favor and check out the fantastic new album “Soap Box Hero” from Punchcard.
