Boston’s oddity-rock misfits line up a throbbing Valentine’s Day alt-love anthem for those who own our hearts , Today (Friday, February 14)

The new single continues a recent February pattern, following the 2022 Valentine’s Day release of “Buzzkill Baby” and the 2023 unleashing of the Fezztones“Rebel Rebel” cover. And it’s the first dose of new sounds from Smitt E. Smitty & The Fezztones since last spring’s anthemic breakout hit “Bye Bye Sunday Afternoon” and the prior fall’s “The Growler.”

With “#1 Most Likely,” the Detroit-born, Boston-based garage n’ glam rock alchemist sets his sights on the ones we love the most, appreciating the love they give, but also – as the lyrics playfully suggest – respecting their ability to make us kneel down and cry.

With music being the ultimate form of storytelling, Smitt E Smitty & The Fezztones, spin a melodic hypnotic alternative love song groove , with “#1 Most Likely that is positively divine.

This song is a ‘love song’ alternative – an alt-love song, perfect for Valentine’s Day,” Smitty says. “I’ve been in a loving long-term relationship for quite some time now. Having said that, as anyone in a long-term relationship can tell you, relationships are complicated – to say the least. Good days, bad days, and everything in between.”

The musical synergy generated by Smitt E Smitty & The Fezztones on “#1 Most Likely” is off the charts as the band skillfully exhibits next level musicianship.

Led by a relentless bassline, a Melissa & Doug toy piano that gives the song its glass-encased swagger – “You really have to hit it hard to make it work,” he notes, “it’s a real clunky sound” – and Smitty’s ultra-repetitive, deadpan vocal delivery that’s not unlike Leonard Cohen in “Everybody Knows,” the track is an instant earworm as Smitty plays loosely with double entendre across the lyric sheet that reads out like frantic scribbles across a beat-up Valentine’s Day card.

“#1 Most Likely” was recorded with Alec Rodriguez at New Alliance Audio in Somerville, MA, and the Fezztones are returning to the studio to prepare additional releases for 2025. “We have the recording process with Alec down to a science,” Smitty says of the track’s engineer and co-producer. “Everything he touches turns to gold.”

What now follows this release are live shows and showcases in both Boston and Detroit, a live appearance on Bedford TV’s The Groove and Gab Cafe later in the year, and the “#1 Most Likely” music video, which will follow the streaming release not too long after it lands on everyone’s playlist – on February 14 and beyond.

“#1 Most Likely “ from Smitt E. Smitty & The Fezztones is an absolute can’t miss.

As soon as you hear the sound of the opening guitar followed by a driving irresistible drum beat, you know that you are in for absolute treat.

“Dance Angelina Dance,” the new single and video from Little Billy Lost, acts a bit like a choose your own adventure endeavor. Are you Angelina, or do you prefer to watch? The level of cool that surrounds Little Billy Lost and the red hot single and video for “Dance Angelina Dance” , is off the charts

The gritty Boston rock and roll dynamo unleashes the official music for “Dance Angelina Dance” today , September 7, debuting on YouTube at high noon (EST). It arrives three weeks before Little Billy Lost head north to play Geno’s Rock Club in Portland on September 28.

The song is a simple lyrical celebration of the experience we’ve all had of sitting in a bar, at a wedding reception, or some other gathering place and seeing someone walk into the room who immediately captivates us,” says Little Billy Lost guitarist and vocalist Fred Pineau. “It’s a simple exploration of one’s imagination projecting an image of a relationship forming in realistic and fantastical ways.”

Premiering a colorful and captivating visual for the track – appropriate for the song’s playful voyeurism – continues its sparking summer, as the Code 213 Records release has burned up indie radio charts since it hit the streams a few weeks back, earning significant airplay on SiriusXM’s Underground Garage (in particular Bill Kelly’s Blackhole Bandstand and The Rodney Bingenheimer Show), topping college radio charts (Strike The Box on WMFO), and garnering spins on dozens of stations and shows around the world.

The infectious and magnetic “Dance Angelina Dance” might be the boldest statement yet from a band that boasts a healthy pedigree in Boston and Detroit rock and roll. Its four members – Pineau joined by bassist and vocalist Patrick Moynihan; guitarist and vocalist James Melanson; and drummer Smitt E. Smitty, who produced, directed, and edited the video – trace back to a wealth of respected bands of yesterday, including The Atlantics, Figures on a Beach, Third Rail, Fireking, Pop Gun, and plenty others.

But this latest effort is entirely Little Billy Lost.

“ We hope that the listener will be able to relax, close their eyes, and connect with the simple but compelling message of the song that we are all connected by the human condition,” Pineau adds. “All of us have at one time or another found ourselves in the position of the protagonist in the song, and we hope that the listener can pause and for a moment experience that feeling.”

We love the retro feel of the video for “Dance Angelina Dance” It’s a fun video that does a brilliant job of showing the fun and vibrant vibe of the band.

Little Billy Lost , has a sound and vibe that immediately grabs your attention. You can call it a retro,or a throwback sound , it doesn’t matter – Little Billy Lost plays authentic electrifying rock that is simply out of this world good!
