We were instantly captivated by the boundless and electrifying energy of “Sunny Side”, from Skeetch .

“Sunny Side”, blends big-hearted energy with gritty hooks, the song is a rush of melodic, ’90s-inspired punk rock that’s both nostalgic and deeply personal.

What we absolutely love about “Sunny Side”, is that it immediately gives off ‘90s melodic skate punk vibes as soon as the opening guitar riff hits. It’s the kind of song that transports you back to the days when Warped Tour cost less than 20 bucks and Tony Hawk was shaping the listening habits of a generation. With fast, punchy drums, soaring guitar leads, and shout-along hooks, it’s a throwback without sounding dated — a refreshing jolt of youthful sincerity.

Lyrically, “Sunny Side” is a brilliantly written punk rock gem . It is a punk rock love song about finding a spark of beauty in the middle of a gray, lifeless backdrop. “It’s about finding someone (or something) good when everything else around you just isn’t,” the band explains. “It’s about seeing the beauty in the mundane.” The song’s refrain says it all: “You’re the sunny side of shitty town.”

Sunny Side”* is our not-so-cheesy love song — whether you see it as about a relationship, a friendship, or however you choose to interpret it. It’s a reminder that even when life sucks — sometimes, or even most of the time — it’s worth appreciating the little things. It’s about finding and embracing the _sunny side_ of whatever situation you’re in. The track is also the title song of our debut full-length album, ‘Sunny Side of Shitty Town’, dropping on August 22 via Punkerton Records. We are absolutely smitten with “Sunny Side”, from Skeetch. It has put our punk rock loving heart into overdrive. We can’t wait for Skeetch’s forthcoming debut full-length album, due later this year.

Brutal Post-Punks Share Lead Single ‘Communion’ 

We recently had the opportunity to check out the new single, “Communion” from Cologne, Germany based “brutal post-punks” TV CULT. The band is also proud to announce that their second album, Industry, will be released later this year on 10th October 2025.

On the forthcoming new album, TV CULT are set to chart darker waters than ever before, exploring themes including the decline of western culture and rejecting the belief systems that are presented to us.

Recorded by Christoph Scheidel at 79 Sound Studios in Cologne, the album was mixed at Holy Mountain Studios, London by Misha Hering (High Vis, Idles) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Off!, Sleep, Stranger Things OST) at Audiosiege, Portland.

The artwork for Industry features a photograph from world famous Köln based photographer Boris Becker’s ‘Konstruktionen’ series (http://www.boris-becker.com) and will be revealed in the coming weeks.

To celebrate the news, the band are sharing lead single ‘Communion’ which is available now released  on all good digital platforms.

Commenting on the track, the band said: “The theme of ‘Communion’ is the idea of rejecting a belief system by calling it out for being vacuous and empty. Only by rejecting the false beliefs presented to us can we start seeking and embracing true meaning in this world.”

We love the vibe and feel of , “Communion”, from TV Cult. The band brilliantly combines the “old school” music vibe and the “new school” music vibe, to deliver an absolute gem.

German skatepunk powerhouse Heathcliff return with their new full-length album, Postcard from a ParaHell Universe. Picking up right where 2021’s widely praised Stay Posi left off, this record delivers 11 fast, hard-hitting, and thought-provoking skatepunk anthems. We recently checked out the new single + video for “Airtight” from German hard core punks Phantom Bay . “Airtight” will be featured on the bands new EP “Underground “ which, will be out September 8th on KROD Records.

On their nuanced follow-up EP “Underground”, Phantom Bay delivers infectious and cohesive songwriting, which cuts straight to the chase. From the riff-ladden opener “Airtight”, to the groovy lead single “Ends Meet” and the anthemic closer “Collective Decline”, Phantom Bay demonstrates how versatile and expansive a punk record can sound in 2023.

Marc Schulz of Phantom Bay (who shot and directed the video) shares:“The video deals with everyday consumption, in particular how we tend to justify our own, often unhealthy consumption patterns and talk ourselves out of criticism. We buy so much stuff we don’t need, don’t care where things come from and who we’re supporting silently. The song and video is a call to think more before you make a purchase.”
