D CullenAlso Announces New Album, “City Soundscapes “ For September Release
We recently had the stellar opportunity, to check out the stunning new single, “Young Men”, from D. Cullen an acclaimed alt-rock artist from Dublin, Ireland.
You can listen to “Young Men”, from D. Cullen, Here
We have said it before, and it bears repeating… Sometimes it only takes hearing a song one time and … You are hooked . This is definitely the case with , “Young Men”, from D. Cullen.
Young Men” is a song that deals with the rising issue of toxic masculinity in our society.
From my earliest days in an all-boys school in Dublin, I’ve never really felt at home in heavily masculine/laddy circles. I’ve always felt like an outsider in those circles. Increasingly, in the wake of the last few years where movements like “the Manosphere” and figures such as Andrew Tate and Joe Rogan have taken more of a hold on the culture, I’ve become more and more concerned and distressed with how unpleasant certain men’s behaviour can be. At the same time, there’s a growing sense that a lot of men are using these behaviours to hide behind while they deal with some seriously heavy struggles. This song tries to address both issues, by both prodding at some of the more distasteful elements of “lad culture” and also shining a light on the vulnerability behind a lot of that bravado. Although the song was written well before this came out, the show “Adolescence” floored me when I watched it recently, as it captured that dichotomy perfectly. I hope this song can capture some of that current cultural tension in the same way.”
Having previously released his debut album ‘Sing My Story, Tell My Song’ followed by the EP ‘Tiny‘ he now announces a new chapter for 2025. with the release of new single ‘Young Men‘ and forthcoming new album “City Soundscapes” which will be released on Sept 19th.
“Young Men” has an authentic and honest vibe that really makes the song stand out .
D. has had his music featured on BBC Scotland, RTE Radio One, Today FM, and twice performed on Ireland’s largest TV chat show The Late Late Show. He has supported such artists as Mundy, Eddi Reader, Brian Kennedy, Bry, and many many more!
We are absolutely taken with Belfast based quartet Stratford Rise. They have a one of a kind sound that is both powerful and beautiful. Today they offer up their debut eponymous EP. (Which if you are scoring at home, is absolutely brilliant)
You can listen to the debut EP, on Spotify Here, Apple Music, 🎶 Here
We first got to know the mighty Stratford Rise, by their phenomenal single, “Gunshow”, but as we listened to the new EP, we quickly learned that it was only the tip of the iceberg.
The melodic madness of “Prone” , absolutely blew our minds . “Prone” is carefully chaotic and spectacularly stunning. Stratford Rise , is a band who is ready to reach amazing heights and we can’t wait to watch .
“Snowsports” has a very cinematic feel to it with a memorable melody and flawless vocals.
The closing track, “Machine To Water” , showed of the amazing versatility of Stratford Rise.
Their explosive live shows have made them one of the most talked about bands in the Irish live circuit. In a short period of time, they have built an impressive repertoire of performances. From supporting noise rock legends, The Jesus Lizard in Belfast’s Limelight, and a sold out show in Dublin’s The Button Factory, proving their ability to hold their own alongside the greats. At Whelans Ones to Watch Festival the band stole the show, with audience members surfing across the room. In 2024 they also embarked on their own five- date Irish tour. Their stage presence is erratic, theatrical, and visceral, with each members becoming enveloped by the music, offering a visually exciting performance for audiences. Other notable highlights: Just Mustard support slot at Limerick’s legendary Féile Na Gréine, support slots for Crows and Junk Drawer support, and write ups in Hot Press and The Thin Air magazines.
2025 is set to be a big year for Stratford Rise with the release of this debut eponymous EP. The EP delivers a blistering collection of tracks that encapsulate the band’s intensity, a tasting platter of their live staples thus far. It is a collection of songs that explore extremes in music, interlocking rhythms, and combining harsh, noisy ideas with consonant ones. Lyrically, it’s about small fleeting glimpses into characters at crossroads and crisis.
Stratford Rise, is a band that you owe it to your music loving heart to check out , you won’t regret it.

Dublin post-funk quartet SCUSTIN are delighted to reveal their new single ‘I’m Never Flying With Ryanair Again’, being released today, May 21st .

We absolutely love the vibrant style and sound of “I’m Never Flying With RyanairAgain” it is a catchy groove that is SCUSTIN, at their very best.
Following the social media buzz around their tongue-in-cheek rage-baiting release ‘The Ick (Don’t Put Blackcurrant In That Pint of Guinness)’, the band continue to win high-profile fans across the arts, includingFontaines DC’s GrianChatten, Gurriers’ Dan Hoff,Meditations For the Anxious Mind Podcast, UFC’s Meatball Molly, comedian Darren Conway, designer Hephee, and rapper Kojaque.
Already shaping up to turn just as many heads, new single ‘I’m Never Flying With Ryanair Again’ blends infectious pop-groove structures à la Blur and Wet Leg with a grunge-country guitar that wouldn’t feel out of place on aNirvana record. The result? An alternative Irish pop anthem that hits hard and hooks fast.
Commenting on the track, the band say: “Lyrically, the song is a satirical deep-dive into the absurdity of blame culture. Channelling the tongue-in-cheek swagger of The Streets, Viagra Boys, and Kneecap, the story introduces a maddeningly self-unaware character who wreaks havoc through his airport routine. It’s a wry observation of a world where it’s easier to deflect responsibility than take it on the chin.”
The track is the latest to be taken from their debut album Confessions Of A Pub Talkerwhich will be released on September 19th , 2025 and follows on from early singles ‘Charmer’ and ‘The Ick (Don’t Put Blackcurrant In That Pint Of Guinness)’
Recorded and produced by Richie Kennedy(The Murder Capital, RIDE, Interpol, Shame) at Black Mountain Studios, forthcoming debut album Confessions Of A Pub Talker is a concept record that tells the story of Larry, a barman in his mid-to-late 20s struggling to find his way amidst the social and economic uncertainties of modern Irish life.
More than just a band, Scustin blurs the lines between crowd and artist. When you step into a Scustin show, you don’t just watch the band—you become part of it. Scustin is a state of mind, a shared love for all things craic. To be “Scustin” is to belong to a group united by this love, where every show is a celebration of connection, culture, and pure, unfiltered fun

We recently had the stellar opportunity, to check out the new single, “Hey Ramile”, from Irish indie rock band InBetween Honey . You can listen to “Hey Ramile” Here You can watch the video below
InBetween Honey, create smart and melodic indie rock songs that totally kick ass …. “Hey Ramile” is definitely one of those songs .
InBetween Honey are a fast rising Irish indie rock band who are forming a reputation for delivering hard hitting guitar driven songs. Having twice played Electric Picnic Festival and performed across Ireland they recently made their UK debut at the legendary Dublin Castle in London. With the release of ‘Driving Home‘ the band storm into 2025 and display their intent on it being a year where they go from strength to strength.
Guitarist, JohnPaul, comments about the song : Written in the springtime of 2023 after the realisation that I had fractured my back and the torment it had caused me in the run up to knowing the news. “Hey Ramile?” tells the story of a conversation I had on the phone with a nurse to the endless nights I spent on a hospital ward during that March where frustration, anxiety and amongst it all laughs are experiences i will keep forever.
“Hey Ramile”, is one of those songs that you can listen to a million and one times and never get bored of.
InBetween Honey are Dylan Hickey, brothers Matty & JohnPaul Melady, Ciara McManus and Dan Battigan.
Irish electronic duo Barbagianni release hypnotic debut single ‘Punch Drunk‘ featuring indie-pop chanteuse Daire Heffernan. You can listen to “Punch Drunk “ Here
We found ourselves totally enthralled with the musical style and beauty of “Punch Drunk” from Barbagianni, featuring Daire Heffernan. “
Barbagianni is a two-piece synth-pop act consisting of Karl McCrone and Matthew Keating. Their debut single ‘Punch Drunk’, featuring Daire Heffernan.
Having worked with artists such as Lydia Ford, Theo Fitzgibbon and Lucy McWilliams, Karl and Matthew are treading new ground with lush electronic melodies over hard-hitting, kinetic drum beats. They will be releasing their debut album later this year
Barbagianni
‘Punch Drunk feat. Daire Heffernan is the first song we wrote together as Barbagianni. Back then, we would send snippets and ideas back and forth online, building it up slowly. We knew we had something special when Daire lent her voice to the track. Her swirling, layered vocals complement the relentless groove from the drums and bass and the chorus kicks things into overdrive, with a mixture of crystalline synths and guitars.’
“Punch Drunk”, from Barbagianni, featuring Daire Heffernan, is a magical and melodic song that you can’t ignore.
We recently had the distinct honor to check out the new single, “Ivory”, from Dublin shoegaze outfitDREAM BOY. Ivory‘ is the penultimate single from the forthcoming debut ‘Drowning in Blue‘ ep. You can listen to “Ivory” Here
The new single, is about letting go, it’s about hearing the same things and seeing the same behaviour but for the first time instead of going back, walking away.
The track got its name from the nature that ivory is retrieved, animals killed for their tusks made of the material, when it could just be taken without causing harm. The opening track of the forthcoming ep, ‘Ivory‘ is the first song of healing on the bands discography. An exploration into boundaries and finally standing up for yourself.
DREAM BOY – photo credit – @daisychainphotos
‘I have an image in my head of a documentary I saw as a child where animal protection services remove the tusks from animals to protect them from poachers looking for Ivory. This really stuck with me, the idea that these beautiful creatures were being killed for this material when really in order to retrieve it they did not need to be hurt.
I was struggling with the ending to this song, I had most of the lyrics but was missing the songs real purpose. I’d been listening to a song called ‘blue’ by dream ivory which must have put the word in my head and once it was in it all just clicked and fell into place.
The demo is worlds different from how the song sounds now but that’s why I love writing with these guys and working with our producer Daniel De Burca, we really explore and exploit the idea, taking into a totally different world.’
“Ivory”, from DreamBoy, is a deeply emotional and moving track that tugs gently at your heartstrings and stays in your soul long after the music has ended.
EP Launch show Thurs 26th June – Dublin, The Workmans Cellar promoted by Singular Artists
We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the new single, “Me&Vincent” from Side 4 Collective featuring Colm Quearney and Keith Margo.
You can listen to “Me&Vincent” Here You can also watch the video below
Spearheaded by internationally renowned Irish drummer Dave Hingerty, Side 4 Collective brings an eclectic array of Irish and international artists together, sculpting songs from scratch using Hingerty’s pre-written melodic and primal drum patterns. ‘Me & Vincent‘ features the additional writing, performing and production talents of Colm Quearney and Keith Margo.
This song, ‘Me & Vincent’ is a love letter to the urban and suburban communities of Dublin. The youth are the life and soul, humour and character of our beautiful city. The protagonists in the song’s lyrics are on a fun journey that pays homage to how Dublin Youth bring a sense of adventure and colour to our city. The video was edited by Kevin Lynch and filmed in Dublin City Centre and in Poppintree, Ballymun by Dave Hingerty and Niamh O Donnell. The Poppintree Youth Centre were so helpful in allowing us unique access so we could see how everybody there learns about music, express themselves and develop their talents.
Colm Quearney: “When Dave explained his concept for making this album, I honestly never heard of a better idea. Dave is someone who has brought his creative support and patience to so many songwriters compositions. The whole Side 4 Collective project has given his many song writing peers the chance to reciprocate their talents to his creations. The innovative thing about the project is that it turns the song writing process on its head. Dave invited songwriters to compose a song from an opposing perspective. He started out the project by sharing original drum parts with various songwriters and performance artists. Then, they got to enter the process of writing from a rhythmic perspective. The results have yielded an incredible cornucopia of songs, music and spoken word; with the common thread being Dave’s gift for finding an infectious pulse”.
Colm chose one of Dave’s exciting grooves from the Side 4 vaults. This song was recorded between three studios in Dublin and London. Colm and Keith worked back and forth on the music and lyrics responding to Dave’s funkadelic groove. Effortlessly combining pop, indie, and hip-hop influences, the track is a rich sonic tapestry where lush synthesizers, smooth guitar riffs, and a soulful saxophone intertwine with a laidback hip-hop-inspired beat. Adding to its organic, rhythmic pulse, congas, bongos, ghatams, and a subtle shaker create a warm, earthy groove that flows throughout the song. “
“I Feel Good” radiates a chilled, reflective vibe, capturing the bittersweet feeling of watching time slip through our fingers – a meditation on the fleeting nature of life, balanced with the serene acceptance that some things are simply beyond our control. SCUSTIN are delighted to announce that their debut album Confessions Of A Pub Talkerwill be released on September, 19th 2025.
To celebrate the news, the band will releaselead single ‘The Ick (Don’t Put Blackcurrant In That Pint Of Guinness)’ on March 5th, 2025, just in time for the St Patrick’s Daycelebrations at their London headline show on March 17th, 2025 at The Dublin Castle, Camden.
Recorded and produced by Richie Kennedy(The Murder Capital, RIDE, Interpol, Shame) at Black Mountain Studios, forthcoming debut album Confessions Of A Pub Talkeris a modern Irish concept record that tells the story of Larry, a barman in his mid-to-late 20s struggling to find his way amidst the social and economic uncertainties of modern Irish life.
Bracing lead single ‘The Ick’ is a tongue-in-cheek satire of the post-punk genre, embracing its recent resurgence and drawing on influences from early Viagra Boys, Idles, and Irish bands such as Gurriers and The Scratch.
The frantic energy displayed on the new single is simply electrifying, we were immediately captivated.
Commenting on the single, the band said: “Lyrically, the track addresses the sacrilegious attempts to taint Ireland’s most sacred beverage—Guinness—and draws a line between those who attempt such absurdities and those who don’t. The global phenomenon of “The Ick” serves as a fitting metaphor, delivering the message with a sharp edge of satire, and highlighting how trivial annoyances can become outlets for frustration in a world full of more significant issues.”
If you are like us, and are constantly searching for the next great groove, look no further then The Ick (Don’t Put Blackcurrant In That Pint Of Guinness)’, from SCUSTIN

It is next to impossible not to get swept up in the alt-rock brilliance of “Where Did You Go?”, from D.Cullen. From the moment we heard the first chord , we know we were in for an absolute banger of a song ( and we were right!)

D comments: “This song is a mission statement for my 2nd album. I came of age during what was possibly the last great era for guitar music. The early-mid 2000’s were a golden time for indie music. Big Guitars, Big Drums, records that simultaneously sounded raw & massive on the radio, big hooky pop songs played loosely & dangerously. That’s the sound I wanted to convey on this album, and “Where Did You Go?” perfectly captures that’
Having previously released his debut album ‘Sing My Story, Tell My Song‘ followed by the EP ‘Tiny‘ and sophomore album ‘Standalone‘ he now announces a new chapter for 2025 with the release of the track ‘Where Did You Go’
If you haven’t heard of D. Cullen, we think that listening to “Where Did You Go” is a pretty good place to start.

We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the new single “Setting Sun”, from Irish indie artist, The Butterfly Graveyard.
You can listen to “Setting Sun” on Spotify Here , Apple Music Here.
There is something absolutely breathtaking beautiful about the new single “Setting Sun”, from The Butterfly Graveyard.
Delicate and delicious, Irish alt-rock artist The Butterfly Graveyard is located somewhere between The Blue Nile, Jeff Buckley and the deep blue sea. He makes a fragile music, soft as a butterfly’s wing but sometimes rough and uneven like the underbelly of a leaf, translucent when held up under the light.
The vocals from The Butterfly Graveyard, on “Setting Sun” are magnificently brilliant, we were literally in awe.
Setting Sun is a song about making the most of the time we are given. It is a song of two halves. The first half is written from an individual point of view where the character is looking forward, trying to get stuff done and at the same time looking back with a sense of loss. The second half is more Universal in the sense it could almost be written by a Major Tom like character, who is looking down from space in complete dismay at the earth’s resources being plundered and pillaged. This character is seeing raging forest fires, the earth drowning in flash floods and polar bears being stranded on melting ice caps. So in a way the song is a rallying call to protect the earth in this so called ‘Golden Age ‘ of drilling. It’s about ‘we’ as a collective, trying to get things done before the human race runs out of road and the sun sets on the earth for the very last time.”

We came to know of the mighty Velourias this past summer when we checked their single and video for “Old Age Home Lament” (which we absolutely loved by the way)
Now they are back with an absolute gem “A Forest Of Lungs” Velourias have a style and sound that you can not ignore , they craft smart , thoughtful musical compositions that move both your mind and feet .
The band’s new single “ A Forest of Lungs” is out today November 10th and it is beyond amazing . ‘ A Forest Of Lungs’ is a song that can only be described as an avant-garde case study into male toxic masculinity spliced with a sprinkling of PTSD and an eventual cleansing of the soul. For better or worse…..
Melodically “A Forest Of Lungs “ brings the listener in slow while moving towards a spectacular melodic build up.
The video for “A Forest Of Lungs” is an absolute artistic work art . The video was created by an artist- Trippie Steff. Steff has artful created a stunning visual that goes perfect with “A Forest Of Lungs”
