We have one question that came to mind while listening to the new single “Vampire” from Boston rock legends Nervous Eaters…. Whatever Nervous Eaters are doing we don’t want them to stop …. They sound absolutely amazing. We were first introduced to Nervous Eaters in our youth ( so we’ve been fans for a while ) But…. “Vampire” (b/w “Knockdown Day”) which is out via the fine folks at Wicked Cool Record is a freaking masterpiece.

You can listen to “Vampire” and (b/w “Knockdown Day”) Here and you can watch the video for “Vampire” below

Boston rock pioneers Nervous Eaters return with another new single, “Vampire,” which offers up plenty of sharp hooks and jangly guitars. B-side “Knockdown Day” is a slower-tempo track that evokes feelings of longing and reflection.

Founding member and front man Steve Cataldo sets the scene for “Vampire”: “In a once vibrant town, business by day, swinging by night, always had its own unique rhythm. Strange and without reason, the pace of the small bustling California borough, somehow slowed to an unearthly rhythm. Most of the young people gathered on the village green every Friday night. Hundreds of candles lit the surrounding walkways, creating a festive vibe to the weekly affair. Gradually the areas fresh crisp evening air bit by bit changed to a dank mist ushered in by a ghostly vermilion wind. Winding its way down the country streets, forcing the young Rooks back to their homes, encased within a false security as they morphed into harbingers of tomorrow. Acting as if the coming dawn would be their savior, people finally came out of the homes to investigate the sudden perturbation. Simultaneously, a synchronous fear befell the entire crowd as, The Beautiful Stranger’s mysteriously haunting trance beguiled the village. The Witch, “with shaded eyes”, her infectious yet imperceptible hypnotizing glances, compelling anyone, everyone, to follow her spectral sway. Captive to the Vampire’s ministering Dominion hosting parties by day, slaves to her by night. “Sundown is her town, Everyone is going down”
Such is the premise of Vampire.”

Of the B-side “Knockdown Day”, guitarist/vocalist Adam Sherman says, Isolation and the feeling of being left out of the party are at the heart of “Knockdown Day”. Rest assured, a knockdown is temporary. We pick ourselves up and face tomorrow with humility and optimism.”

You can listen to “TALKK” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here you can check the video below

We may be a tad bias when it comes to The Nervous Eaters ( seeing how we are from Boston ) But their latest single and video for “TALKK “ is absolutely wicked amazing .

Nervous Eaters— contemporaries of bands like the Ramones, The Police, Iggy Pop, and The Pretenders— give us the red hot single “Talkk” which comes on the heels of the band’s critically-lauded 2022 return full-length, ‘Monsters + Angels,’on Stevie Van Zandt’s Wicked Cool Records.

We are seriously starting to think these guys are actually getting younger with every new release they put out

Founding member and front man Steve Cataldo says TALKK is very much along the lines of the NERVOUS EATERS song CHAD, heard on our “Wicked Cool LP – Monsters and Angels”. The narrative explains a boyfriend’s loss of contact with the love of his life. He desperately tries to find her. Endlessly looking through social media, constantly walking the city streets searching the old romantic places they used to hang out, unrelenting in his promise to find her. He finally pleads with all his friends, who knew them both as a couple, to pass on this message should they ever hear from her. “Please tell her I was wrong, that I have changed my ways, and if she comes back home, there will be a brand new man here for her to find”.

In the end, TALKK as with CHAD, despite all the boyfriend’s searching, he never finds her, thus he has to live with the endless regret of realizing, much too late, that each person’s idea of love is unique unto them. That physical love by itself is never enough. That listening, patience and unconditional caring is the “Real Love”, everyone is looking for. Everything else is just TALKK.”
