“Stone Cold.” A deeply personal ballad born from pain, self-reflection, and ultimately, healing, “Stone Cold” marks a pivotal moment in Jackson’s journey — both musically and emotionally.

Written in her bedroom in Bali, the song emerged in a late-night haze, the melody coming to life while she was, in her own words, “drunk and overwhelmed with feelings I had buried for years.” Originally laced with expletives, the track evolved into something more nuanced — a powerful, articulate reckoning with the past.

Stone Cold is about the marriage I had to walk away from — one where I experienced domestic abuse and completely lost myself trying to save someone who didn’t want to be saved,” Jackson shares. “It’s been five years since my divorce, and this is the first time I’ve truly unpacked what happened. Music gave me the space to confront the trauma head-on.”

The single explores the heartbreaking truth that love alone isn’t always enough — especially when only one person is fighting to keep the relationship alive. “No matter how much I wanted it to work, it was never meant to be,” she says. “This song helped me understand why I allowed someone to treat me that way — and why I’ll never allow it again.”

With her signature husky, soulful vocals and unflinching honesty, Sydney Jo Jackson delivers a song that will resonate with anyone who’s had to choose themselves over a love that hurt them. “Stone Cold” is more than a breakup song — it’s an anthem of survival.

“Stone Cold”, from Sydney Jo Jackson, is a powerful and important song that needs to be heard.

“All I’ve Got” From Haven West Veraguas, Is Simply Brilliant

We recently had the distinct privilege to check out the new single, “All I’ve Got “ , from rising singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Haven West Veraguas. You can listen to “All I’ve Got” on Spotify Here , Apple Music Here

“All I’ve Got” from Haven West Veraguas, is both a well crafted authentic truth as well as a melodic triumph.

The lyrics that are woven within “All I’ve Got”,feel timely and extremely relevant.

Haven, who is from Massachusetts, but currently resides in London, is a an artist in the truest sense of the word as he explores many musical styles with his music .

Haven, shares :

I wrote “All I’ve Got” to capture the bittersweet sentiment of
struggling to help the people closest to you even when you don’t have
a lot to give. At the same time, it embodies the sensation of seeing
the world crumble around your little bubble, cursing as everyone
around you appears to go through hell while you’re seemingly
unscathed.

The beautiful lyrics only tell half the story with, “All I’ve Got” The melody and tone of the song is positively stunning. We felt Beatles vibes with a hint of Elliot Smith. The song is a beautiful testament to the next level of musicianship of the very talented Haven West Veraguas

“All I’ve Got”, is not a long song in length ( coming in at just one minute) However, what you get within that minute is a glorious musical experience.

Go to your favorite music listening spot and get lost in the beauty of “All I’ve Got” from Haven West Veraguas.

Keeper teams up with Tally Spear on Brilliant New Emo-Infused-Hyper-Pop single ‘Cynical’

We recently had the distinct honor, to check out the new single, “Cynical”, from UK, Hyper-Pop-Punk star-in-the-making Keeper , featuring  ‘emo-flecked pop’ queen Tally Spear. You can listen to “Cynical”Here You can watch the video for “Cynical” which, was shot and edited by Tom Redford below

We absolutely love “Cynical”, from Keeper, featuring Tally Spear. “Cynical” is one of those mesmerizing and electrifying songs that once you hear it , you can’t resist it. The perfectly placed melody and words make “Cynical” stand out like a perfect shooting star flying through the atmosphere. We were absolutely smitten.

South London’s Keeper explores the end of love, life and blissful childhood innocence in brand new single ‘Cynical’, written and recorded in collaboration with Tally Spear.

Written alongside Spear, Jon Cass (As Everything Unfolds) and Matt Thorne, ‘Cynical’ takes the shape of a 2000’s inspired pop-rock track – combining inspiration from the likes of Avril Lavigne and Busted with qmhyper-pop stars Aries and Ryan Hall. This blend of noughties nostalgia and glitchy maximalism creates unforgettable earworm material – key to the Keeper sound.

On ‘Cynical’, Keeper’s Emanuel Andrade shares ‘This song came to life about a month after a painful, drawn-out breakup—on top of the death of my Grandad and my Dad losing his job, which left my mum panicking about the house. That breakup – ending a three-to-four-year relationship – had me blasting tracks from the bands I used to love, drowning myself in nostalgia.’

Cynicalwas the first song I wrote that year, setting the sonic tone for the rest of the EP. At the time, I was still deep in the mess of everything – right at the point where I had finally ripped off the plaster. Lyrically, Cynical was easy. I was completely in my own head that month—overthinking everything and desperate for a verbal outlet. Cynical took a melancholic, self-reflective route; the true beginning of my healing journey.’

There is no better feeling than having a song hit so perfectly…. This is definitely the case with “Cynical”

Upcoming dates:

April 25th – Black Heart, London (supporting Newshapes and Glassbridges)

Sky_A Shows Yet Another Artistic Layer With Sprawling And Experimental New Single “Old Boy”

We recently got the opportunity to check out the latest single, “Old Boy”, from , London-based singer and audiovisual artist Sky_A

You can listen to “Old Boy” Here

We feel with every new piece of music, from Sky_A we get to see another impressive layer of his artistic vision . We couldn’t help but be completely mesmerized by his latest single “Old Boy

We felt a very David Bowie, “Space Oddity” theme with “Old Boy” , and we very much enjoyed that element of the track.

Incorporating darker elements of electronic production, crunching alternative rock, and progressive-folk, and packed with dynamic, melodic twists and turns, it’s a distorted and dystopian dive into the unique world around his music.

credit: Talie Eigeland

Commenting on the single, he says: Oldboy is the first track on the album. It’s like an overture, establishing the space and the themes of the record. It’s been described as the soundtrack to an unmade film. An encounter on a bridge, a visitation. A troubled kid is given a mission, promised a hero’s welcome. And then the theme comes in. Somewhere between Nick Drake and Faithless via Moderat, it’s pretty experimental genre wise.”

track is the latest to be taken from his forthcoming new album Labyrinths, set for release on March 25, 2025 and follows on from the aptly-titled lead single ‘Running Out Of Winter’ which dropped earlier this year.

Currently developing the 50-minute audiovisual album launch show that will debut on March 28th at The Bath House, Hackney in London, Sky_A says that audiences can anticipate animmersive experience where sound and sight converge. “You can expect to be taken into a world,” he promises, “of beauty and oppressive force, where dynamic contrasts in music are mirrored by visuals that describe intangible forms and currents, infinite cities, energetic bodies.”

Avant-garde audiovisual artist and musician Sky_A is adept at weaving together disparate threads of storytelling, emotion, and soundscape. From his earliest days in a musically rich household, he has nurtured a passion for narrative—a quest to evoke emotion and transport his audience through the alchemy of sound and vision. I like painting pictures in whatever medium, bringing an audience on a journey with me,” he reflects.

Deriving his stage name from his birth name Sky Ainsbury, the Sky_A moniker speaks to a personal connection, but also describes the scope of his creative canvas, hinting at realms of imagination and parallel realities.

We are looking forward to the release of , “Labyrinths” and seeing what Sky_A has in store for us next.

Live Dates:

28.03.25 – London – Bath House, Hackney Wick

Keeper , Delivers Hyper- Pop-Punk Gem, “Taste It”

We recently had the stellar opportunity, to check out the new single, “Taste-It”, from London’s prince of Hyper-Pop-Punk, Keeper.

“Taste-It”, is the first single from the upcoming 2025, EP, “Cabin Fever”

You can listen to “Taste-It” on Spotify Here, Apple Music , Hete

Taste It’ shows Keeper in a new light. Written alongside As Everything Unfolds’ Jon Cass, and producers Matt Thorne and Song Higginson, ‘Taste It’ offers a deep personal insight into a period of darkness – recovering from a global pandemic, losing loved ones, and escaping an abusive relationship, among other things.

Where there once was frustration and disdain towards the project – and songwriting in general – Emanuel Andrade now displays a sound and feel which is true to himself; pure, genuine, and secure, with a strain of mid ‘00s Emo nostalgia.

On ‘Taste It’Keeper said “I’ve gone back to my roots, but now I’ve added all these new styles and influences I’ve picked up over Keeper’s formative years, so, I’m far more confident with them – happy, even. ‘Taste It’ is fast-paced, loud, in your face, and heavier than most Keepertunes, and the lyrics are incredibly personal, naturally – all break-up material. I had to get SOMETHING positive out of my experiences over the last year.”

We love the high energy vibe on “Taste-It”, from Keeper. We found ourselves absolutely mesmerized with the electrifying melody of “Taste It”

KEG showcase a unique and fresh sound on Skybather that we were absolutely draw to right from the first note. “Skybather”, has a brilliantly bright and fluid melody and tone that is a refreshing change to the sometimes mundane musical landscape. Skybather’ sparks to mind lo-fi art-rock greats like Spoon, EELS and Cake, all while retaining the band’s signature British sound.

Commenting on the track, the band said: “One simply must bathe as much as possible. Cleanse the day’s woes in lavender and enter your mind palace. The Backfires Shine Ultra Bright With Latest Single “Turn Off The Lights”

We recently had the opportunity to check out the new single “Turn Off The Lights” from indie-rock band The Backfires. You can listen to “Turn Off The Lights” Here

The Backfires are thrilled to release their new single “Turn Off The Lights” that is out now on all platforms.

Turn Off The Lights” is the fourth single that the band has released that will be featured on their debut album This Is Not An Exit” to be released January 24 The three other previously released singles are “Replace It All,” “Brighter Lights” and “Dressed For a Funeral.”

“Turn Off The Lights, from The Backfires, is an engaging and energetic track that really shows off the brilliance of the band .

Formed in 2018, when Alex Gomez (vocals) left New York to study in London and met Harry Ruprecht (guitar) and Max Wanduragala (drums).

The three of them then returned to the states in 2022 and recruited Matt Walter (bass) before they recorded their debut EP, ‘Consider the Backfires’ in the hazy midst’s of lockdown.

We are eagerly awaiting the release of “This Is Not An Exit “ on January 24th , until then we will keep “Turn Off The Lights” on constant repeat.

The Backfires Create A Brilliant Spark With Brand New Single And Video “Brighter Lights”

We recently had the opportunity to check out the brand new single and video for “Brighter Lights” from transatlantic indie rockers , The BackFires . You can listen to “Brighter LightsHere and you can check out the video below .

The band is known as New York’s most promising bands, this is their first release of music since 2023.

Formed in 2018, when Alex Gomez (vocals) left New York to study in London and met Harry Ruprecht (guitar) and Max Wanduragala (drums). The three of them then returned to the states in 2019 and recruited Matt Walter (bass) before they recorded their debut EP, Consider the Backfires’ in the hazy midst’s of lockdown. In 2021 the band returned to London for a stint where they recorded singles, Blindsided and Reflections On My TV’ and are now permanently based out of New York.

Inspired by the city’s infamous nightlife, “Brighter Lights” is a raucous indie club floor filler, that combines a driving riff with hints of disco and a huge euphoric chorus.

The band says, “We wanted to make a song that sounds like New York” the band explain. “Then we got to recording and made the beginning of the track feel like you were entering a club. The song nods to the dance and club music of New York that we’ve gotten to experience in the past couple of years of living here.”

We love the feel and vibe of “Brighter Lights” , The Backfires have this familiar indie rock sound but then they reel you in with their unique approach that is both refreshing and just the right amount of low key cool

If you like the single, then you are going to love the ingenious/insane video, portraying the band involved in a complex heist with the aim of stealing a disco ball. It’s basically Reservoir Dogs meets Studio 54.

The band continues about the video saying, “The video is this ridiculous spectacle of action and excitement that’s reflective of being in the energy of New York. The bright lights of New York are intoxicating but are shrouded in superficiality. Who would carry out a heist for a disco ball, and drive away in a convertible, all to perform at a nightclub? It’s absurd.”

Do yourself a favor and check out “Brighter Lights”, from The Backfires , you will be glad you did .

While the sound of The Magic City , may sound familiar, the band has a unique vibe and feel that is all their own .

We want to find our people,” says vocalist David Jackel. “Like the community we had with the pill in Boston. I saw them come out to Radio City to see Pulp, the MET and the Orpheum to see Suede and Nick Cave, and they’ll all be at the Darker Waves festival in California. It’s that family tree of music culture that began with the Beatles and Stones, Bowie and Velvets, and then punk, post-punk, goth, new wave, Britpop. Angel Olsen channeling Serge Gainsbourg. Their random playlist could be Kate Bush, Bauhaus, Bat for Lashes, Pixies, and it would all make sense.”

The first in a wealth of new music set for release next year, “Roadrunner Vs. Your Mother” is a provocative debut offering, with roots that stretch from Britpop to post-punk to glam to classic alternative. It’s a seductive and suggestive invitation to what’s to come.

The sounds and structure of ‘Roadrunner Vs. Your Mother’ draw on The Beatles circa Rubber Soul, Pixies, Pulp, Auteurs,” Jackel admits. “I don’t know where this band will go musically, but that’s the foundation.”

“Roadrunner Vs. Your Mother “ has this hypnotic mysterious feel to it that you just can’t escape . The Magic City, definitely has our attention and we have a feeling many more will soon feel the same.

Sky_A Delivers An Epic Visual For “Spider Silk”

Back in August, we had the opportunity to check out the amazing debut single “Spider Silk” from London based artist Sky_A

You can listen to “Spider Silk” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here and on Amazon Music Here

The project name for writer and producer Sky Ainsbury, Sky_A mixes elements of electronic, rock and acoustic music to paint futuristic yet intimate landscapes of sound. Working professionally as a filmmaker and audiovisual artist, Sky also brings a strong visual element to this project with a focus on long-form audiovisual experience.

Spider Silk was self-performed and produced, with the addition of virtuoso drums by Adam Betts (Three Trapped Tigers, Squarepusher, Jarvis Cocker) and additional production and mixing by Aneek Thapar (65daysofstatic, Rival Consoles, Mazoulew). It lyrically explores the concept of strength in vulnerability.

Discussing the creation of the self-filmed music video, Sky explains:The video was filmed completely DIY, using motion capture with AI to create the animations. I recorded myself dancing, manipulated it with 3D software, and then put the renders through Stable Diffusion to get the different textural effects. The performance footage I shot using a £15 Amazon ring light in the hallway of my pokey flat in Hackney! And for the establishing shot of the television in the abandoned building, I used Midjourney to generate the image, then expanded it with Photoshop Generative Fill to create the foreground.

I work as a video editor, and get so used to huge sums of money being thrown around on very average content, so it was a satisfying experiment to see what I could put together on literally zero budget.”

You can watch the amazing video for “Spider Silk “ below .

We were already huge fans of “Spider Silk “ and of Sky_A , the amazing video for “Spider Silk made our appreciation grow 10 fold.

It doesn’t matter if it’s creating music or incredible visuals , Sky_A is a gifted and talented artist. We can’t wait for more !

Sky_A Artfully Explores Vulnerability With Stunning Debut Single “Spider Silk”

we recently got the opportunity to check out the debut single “Spider Silk” from London based artist Sky_A.

You can listen to Spider Silk” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here

The project name for writer and producer Sky Ainsbury, Sky_A mixes elements of electronic, rock and acoustic music to paint futuristic yet intimate landscapes of sound. Sky believes that he may have a form of Synaesthesia and illustrates how he hears music in terms of the shapes of the figures, the colours of the melody and its textures as material.

Speaking about how his perception of music makes an impact on the music that he creates, Sky explains:I read once about Tchaikovsky writing the Nutcracker, how each instrument represented a character in the piece, so every time you hear the Oboe, that’s the duck, or the fairy or whichever it is. That really stuck with me. So if I say that in my music, the acoustic guitar is flesh, human bodies, the drums and distorted guitar are architecture and machinery, weapons, and the synths are technology, the internet, a kind of convergent consciousness – when I say that I mean it quite literally. I’m approaching composition like a canvas, and there’s consistency across the album, there’s a story if you dig for it.”

Spider Silk, was self-performed and produced, with the addition of virtuoso drums by Adam Betts (Three Trapped Tigers, Squarepusher, Jarvis Cocker) and additional production and mixing by Aneek Thapar (65daysofstatic, Rival Consoles, Mazoulew).

We were enthrall with “Spider Silk” from Sky_A., right from the first note . There was this real sense of mystery around the track that we found very appealing. The words aided by the matrix sounding beats and melodies makes “Spider Silk” a truly otherworldly experience.

It is refreshing to hear music that makes you think and explore , We can’t wait to hear more from Sky_A.
