Keeper Comes Up Aces With Latest Single/Video- “Alright//Too Slow”

We recently had the distinct honor to check out the latest single/video, for “Alright//Too Slow”, from rising South London Pop-Punk gem Keeper. You can listen to “Alright//Too Slow” on Spotify Here, Apple Music Here

You can check out the blazing video, for “Alright//Too Slow” ( which is an absolute work of art) below

“Alright//Too Slow “, from Keeper, is an infectious adrenaline rush, that we simply can’t get out of our soul!

Following on from the release of his latest singles ‘Taste It’ and ‘Cynical’ – which garnered high praise from BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock show host Alyx Holcombe and others –  Keeper explores recovery and self-love in his latest single ‘Alright/Too Slow’.

On ‘Alright/Too Slow’, Keeper’s Emanuel Andrade shared ‘This track […] is about acknowledging the damage and pain but refusing to let it define you. It’s about pulling yourself up, moving on, and chasing the goals that once felt hindered by the relationship.’

Discussing the lyrical content, Keeper continued – ‘one of my favorite moments is the fourth-wall break after the solo: ‘It’s so hard to accept the fact that I’m feeling better alone. You’re losing sleep and I’m out here, still singing this song’. That line hits especially hard because, despite being blocked, my ex has found new ways to reach out—new Instagram accounts, new numbers. It’s honestly terrifying, and this song is a very real reflection of that for me. When I find myself in those moments, I listen back—almost like I’m speaking to myself. It makes me realize just how much I’ve changed, how far I’ve come, and all the steps I’ve taken—not just to get back to normal, but to be better.’

There is so much to love about, Keeper, and his electrifying approach to music, it honestly is so refreshing to hear an artist who doesn’t take their foot off the gas, even for a second.

Music is meant to be exciting and exhilarating, and you definitely get that on “Alright//Too Slow” from Keeper

It is in our opinion, not if Keeper, will be the next big thing but…. When

Goldstate thrives on sharp songwriting, huge choruses, and a sound that feels both fresh and familiar. With a focus on delivering music that connects, they aim to carve out their place in today’s scene.

Long Island’s Gone Stereo and New York City’s Something Bitter, Put On An Absolute Melodic Pop Punk Clinic With New Split EP “Bridges And Tunnels “

EP cover art designed by: Joel Menter http://www.joelmenter.com

We recently had the beyond amazing opportunity, to check out the new split EP , “Bridges And Tunnels from Long Island’s- Gone Stereo and New York City’s Something Bitter . You can listen to the epic collection of songs that is “Bridges And Tunnels” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here

We were absolutely pumped to check out “Bridges And Tunnels “ from Gone Stereo and Something Bitter , as we are fans of both bands . “Bridges And Tunnels “ features brand-new tracks, two from each group, available today (December 27 ) digitally, and later on limited-edition 7” vinyl, CD, and
cassette.

Gone Stereo- Courtesy Of The Band

We absolutely love Gone Stereo, they have such a one of a kind sound that grabs you immediately , they have released “Sad Turtles” and “Cut the Rope” as part
of the split EP. These tracks were recorded at VuDu Studios, where they were produced, mixed, and
mastered by the talented Frank Mitaritonna, known for working with such luminaries as Thought Crimes,The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Hopesfall.

If you are familiar with The Whole Kameese, you know that when we hear something that we like , we want to shout it from the from the rooftops….. The bass line on “Sad Turtles “ is absolutely mind blowing, it sets the tone for a phenomenal track. Everything on this track is pure melodic pop punk perfection the melody , the guitars everything. If you’re not singing along to “Sad Turtles” by time the chorus kicks in you need to seek medical attention. “Sad Turtles” may explore themes of being lost and yearning for belonging, ultimately it is kick ass Saturday night song about getting wasted .

The other track from Gone Stereo, “Cut The Rope”, is a driving that has Gone Stereo, firing on all cylinders.

“Cut the Rope” tells a story about a mystical woman. The song’s melody is haunting
and atmospheric, with a sense of mystery and intrigue. Overall, Gone Stereo’s new songs showcase their
ability to blend different genres and create a unique, familiar, and fresh sound, and we loved every freaking minute of it.

The next two tracks on “Bridges And Tunnels”, are from Something Bitter, a melodic punk-rock band from New York City, Something Bitter deliver a high energy sound that artfully showcases their “Next Level “ musicianship. They have given us two kick ass tracks as their contribution to “Bridges And Tunnels” – “The Ends “ and “Milo Goes Fight Club” .

These tracks were independently recorded and mixed by singer/guitarist Russ Worstell, and mastered by Frank Mitaritonna.

Something Bitter, Courtesy Of The Band

The melodic tone and vocal performance coupled with an addictive melody on “The Ends “, instantly made us take notice.

“The Ends” is a song about loss and gaining something in the process. It’s about realizing that the effort
you’re putting into something isn’t working out — work, a relationship, a Rubik’s cube, or any other pursuit
— and that you were never the right person. Because while your world outlook isn’t bleak, it isn’t roses and candy floss. The final track on “Bridges And Tunnels”, is the powerful, “Milo Goes To Fight club” This song is an absolute sonic and melodic gem .

“Milo Goes to Fight Club”, is a song about that dude we’ve all encountered who lives to
make other people’s lives miserable. You know, that schoolyard bully, that jerk in the street late on a Friday night who just wants to pick a fight to feel better, that cop who loves their badge a little too much. It’s a reminder that being kind and decent is what gives you a decent life, not being that guy. Besides having a phenomenal title, what we really loved about “Milo Goes To Fight Club “ , is the brilliantly crafted lyrics. We are big fans of lyrics and “Milo Goes To Fight Club” is a lyrical masterpiece.

Gone Stereo and Something Bitter have delivered a future classic with their split EP, “Bridges And Tunnels “

“Better Days” was skillfully produced by Ezra Cohen. One listen to “Better Days” and it is crystal clear that Ezra definitely knows what buttons to push as he has the band sounding great on “Better Days”

From the first note on “Boulder Toss” we were completely captivated by honest and authentic sound of Hedge.

SPF” (this song had a killer melody mixed with an addictive guitar riff. The title track “Better Days” is definitely a defining moment on the album. Hedge, displays expert musicianship on this track. We can not confirm or deny that we had an office dance party with “No Monsters” and “Bike Song “ It is almost next to impossible to pick a “favorite” song , especially with the quality of song assembled on “Better Days” but we without question have to say our favorite is “Peeling Back The Vines” We loved everything about this tune , the band was firing on all cylinders on this one.

Piper Connolly Doesn’t Hold Back With Red Hot New Single “Kiss Like Me”

We recently had the opportunity to check out the new single “Kiss Like Me from Phoenix, Arizona native Piper Connolly. You can listen to “Kiss Like Me” Here Piper Connolly brings a sonically and melodically charged pop punk sound that is absolutely electrifying.

“Kiss Like Me” is a cheeky rebuttal to a crush the artist had. She shares, “It is the ultimate “the grass is greener on THIS side” song. It’s fun and flirty and we wrote it as a fusion of old and new- it features a solid homage to Billy Idol, whom I love, & a modern nod to Olivia Rodrigo.”

Piper Connolly is known as a fierce innovator, her music a vibrant mélange of introspection and sonic exploration and this is on full display on “Kiss Like Me”

From a very young age, Piper found solace and expression in songwriting, her compositions reflecting the raw emotions of life’s complexities and newfound experiences. Drawing inspiration from all manner of music, from early rock and roll, and jazz, to 90s grunge and ska with a steady undercurrent of R&B and soul, she’s worked to hone a sound that defies blunt categorization, blending elements of indie songwriting, alternative and pop into a storied sonic landscape.

Piper Connolly has a sound and vibe that is honest , unique and did we mention she absolutely freaking rocks . “Kiss Like Me “ is a must listen.

So open all the windows and turn “Kiss Like Me” from Piper Connolly all the way up.

Cold Weather Kids Keep It Real With New Song And Video

We recently had the opportunity to check out the track and video for “Pop Punk Fuck Up”

You can listen to the song Here You can also check out the video below

Los Angeles-based pop punk outfit Cold Weather Kids is excited to release their brand new single “Pop Punk Fuck Up” via Revival Recordings

The single speaks to a feeling that many may feel with themselves and the world around them. When discussing the inspiration behind the track, vocalist Ryan Solava stated, “Experience the raw, unfiltered emotion of “Pop Punk Fuck Up,” a new anthem for those grappling with life’s relentless challenges. With candid lyrics that delve into mental health struggles and self-realization, this track captures the essence of the pop punk genre, blending angst with a touch of introspective humor. Don’t miss this unapologetically honest journey through the highs and lows of modern existence.”

When going through the concept of the music video for “Pop Punk Fuck Up”, Ryan said, “When writing it I just wanted to be relatable and there seems to be this stereotype that if you’re in your 30’s in a pop punk band. It’s like a walking red flag.” But really the bottom line for the band was to make a video that was fun but also true to how they live their lives. “It’s easy to hate, sometimes even fun cause it probably makes others feel better about their lives in comparison. So rather than complain about our problems, we’d rather acknowledge that we’re just going do us and accept everybody has problems and nobody cares,” Ryan continued.

There is this real no B.S. authenticity with “Pop Punk F#%k Up” Cold Weather Kids do a brilliant job of not only keeping it real but doing it with a killer sound and melody

We Are Absolutely Over The Moon About StrateJacket And Their Two Incredible New Singles “Be My Drug” And “Bad Start”

We recently had the phenomenal opportunity to check out North California punky alt-rock trio StrateJacket and…. not one but two new singles (So freaking cool !) “Be My Drug” and “Bad Start” Both songs are absolutely beyond amazing.

You can listen to “Be My Drug” Here and “Bad Start” Here

Originally featured on EA SportsNHL24 Soundtrack in tandem with NHL24’s Playlist last year, “Bad Start” was one of the first songs the young band ever wrote together. The band – made up of Jackson Roemers (lead vocals/guitar, 24), Fabian Angel (vocals/bass, 23) and Nate Mangold (drums, 22) – says the song is pretty much about “being an idiot but meaning well.”

While “Be My Drug” follows in line with the sound of “Bad Start,” it explores a more character driven story and talks of the similarities between what being in love and being on drugs can feel like. “I don’t think a song on the album better represents who we are better than ‘Be My Drug’ does,” the band says. “I really wanted a song that captured the [highs and lows/push and pull] feeling of those two things together. It’s a theme I look forward to exploring more in the future.”

“Be My Drug” and “Bad Start” are the first single taken from the band’s debut album (out in 2024) and they were recorded at Vancouver’s Armory Studios in November of 2022 with the Juno/BMI-winning Canadian producer/songwriter Brian Howes (Hinder, Skillet, Boys Like Girls) and Grammy Award-winning Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, Muse, Prince) mixed the album.

Some song just have this amazing power to win you over. You can’t explain it … it just does. “Be My Drug” and “Bad Start “ and two brilliantly put together songs that have completely won us over . StrateJacket is a band you need to remember. Perfect melodies mixed with flawless vocals. We have a feeling StrateJacket is just getting warmed up.

Thomas Nicholas Band Delivers Highly Personal New Single “Better Than Home”

Band Fronted By Musician/Actor Thomas Nicholas of ‘American Pie’ / “Rookie Of The Year” Fame

We recently got a chance to check out the latest single “Better Than Home “ via Sbäm Records from Thomas Nicholas Band .

You can listen to “Better Than Home” Here and you can check out the lyric video below

Thomas Nicholas Band are currently writing original songs for their 7th studio album being produced by Taylor Carroll (LIT, Kemikalfire) in collaboration with artists such as, Jaret Reddick (Bowling for Soup), Ace Enders (the Early November), Tom Higgenson (Plain White T’s) Matthew Kennedy (The Dangerous Summer) Adrian Estrella (Zebrahead), Ajay Popoff (LIT), Andrew Goldstein and more

Thomas says, While I was working in the studio with my producer Taylor Carroll (Kemikalfire, LIT), his friend Zac Barnett (American Authors) decided to stop by and say hello. Taylor grabbed a guitar and played him a chorus we were writing and before I knew what was happening, Zac started singing the melody what would become the opening versus for the song, “Better than Home”

I threw out some lyric ideas and then I tried to retract them because they were too personal … Zac immediately suggested that those were the best kind of lyrics and that I should write about what I’m scared to talk about. So here I am with my heart on my shirtsleeve with this song.

To really drive it all home, the artwork includes a reflection of the first place I lived. A double wide trailer outside of Las Vegas. I will also be heading to my other hometown of Santa Cruz to film in the parking lot of the Catalyst – a venue that I finally got to perform at last year with Bowling For Soup.”

LA Punk/Power-Pop Band For Closure Find Another Gear With Latest Single “Moon At Noon”

For Closure (fronted by vocalist Gizz Lazlo (Dr. Know, U.K. Subs, The Freeze)

We recently had the distinct honor of checking out the new single “The Moon At Noon” via Mindpower Records, from LA punk/power-pop band For Closure ( fronted by vocalist Gizz Lazlo (Dr. Know, U.K. Subs , The Freeze

You can listen to “ Moon At Noon” Here

Frontman Gizz Lazlo says, “”Moon at Noon” was written a few days after my dad’s first major heart attack in May of 2018.

I was sitting on my parent’s porch while my dad lay in the hospital in a coma for 6 days. As I sat there confused and worried about what was going to happen, I needed to write something to calm my nerves a bit. Luis had sent me a demo that I’d listened to a few weeks prior.

While I was listening to the music over and over on my headphones, chain-smoking trying to distract myself, certain phrases kept coming back as I was humming melodies over the music.

A few hours later I’d finished these lyrics and just left them alone as I went back and forth to the hospital trying to deal with my mother and relatives who started arriving from Mexico to see my dad. When my dad was discharged from the hospital I couldn’t sleep thinking that this may happen again

. About a week after my dad was home I found myself in my studio wondering what these lyrics would sound like to the music. I spent about an hour behind the mic recording the original demo for this song.

I sent it to Luis and we instantly knew we HAD to record this song. It’s definitely not something we usually write together. That’s the thing I love about writing songs with Luis is that we both don’t care what people are going to think about them.

If “we” like them then let’s record them. Everything we’ve written in the past few years are songs about the dark side of life. Not everything is rainbows and butterflies. As much as we want it to be, it just isn’t. My hope is that whoever listens to our songs finds something that they can hold on to if they ever feel down.

I grew up with songs that helped me through some tough times. Maybe, just maybe we can help someone through their personal trauma with our songs. I’ve been close to the end many times, but I’m still here. So I guess the best advice I can give is to – Never Lose Hope!! You are loved!!”

We are absolutely over the moon for the new For Closure single “Moon At Noon”

Music is by far the best form of expression and For Closure have crafted an absolute gem.

What really makes “ Moon At Noon” shine , is how For Closure artfully works in not only punk and pop-punk elements in to the song , But, you also can also feel the Emo and melodic hardcore elements as well.

Odd Robot Makes A Huge Splash With New Single And Video For “Lost Inside Yr Ocean”

We recently checked out Southern California punk/power punk band Odd Robot and their new single and video for “Lost Inside Yr Ocean “

“Lost Inside Yr Ocean” is from the band’s new record “Deathmates” which, will be out this fall via Wiretap Records.

“Lost Inside Yr Ocean “ is an absolute blast , the song and video have major summer vibes that we totally dig. We are all about the 60’s feel which , comes courtesy of the sweet spatial reverberations of Telecasters and the band’s newest member and multi-instrumentalist, Nate Phung, on the organ. ( The organ on this song , is like a super power , we love it )

Photo credit @ the corona chronicles

Andy Burris of Odd Robot says, The sea is a durable metaphor—she is the bringer of life, the taker of life. Lost Inside Yr Ocean delves into that realm. The subject of the song is isolated and adrift. Despite no way out, they manage to cling to a bit of hope.

The music video was filmed in Newport Bay, CA, and features professional divers (thanks to Apex Diving Services) and an extra special guest.

If music is your jam , you need to check out Odd Robot and their super rad new tune “Lost Inside Yr Ocean”
