We recently had the phenomenal opportunity, to check out the electrified new version of Meg Smith’s fan-favorite single “Girls Just Wanna Be Famous”, released through Artist House. Meg, has teamed up with fellow pop powerhouses , Molly Grace, and MARIS. And… it is absolutely amazing!!

You can listen to “Girls Just Wanna Be Famous (er) Here

First released earlier this year, “Girls Just Wanna Be Famous” became an underground anthem – a sparkling, theatrical ode to ambition, stardom, and feminine chaos. Now reimagined with Molly and MARIS, the new version takes on fresh life with three bold voices and a shared sense of tongue-in-cheek honesty. It’s maximalist, emotional, and infectious, the kind of pop song that makes you want to laugh and choreograph a performance in your bedroom mirror.

The second we finished writing ‘Girls Just Wanna Be Famous’, I knew I wanted Molly & Maris to feature on the remix,” says Meg. “This song is a love letter to every girl who’s dreamed of their name in lights and I’m so inspired by Molly and Maris’ hard work and talent. We had so much fun working on this remix!

MARIS, the genre-bending pop star known for her glittery synths and cosmic storytelling, wrote and recorded her verse remotely after Meg reached out via Instagram.

“’Girls Just Wanna Be Famous(er)’ feels like both a celebration and a lament for the path of a creative girl who really just wants to connect with people,” MARIS says. “Meg literally just DM’d me on Instagram and asked if I would be down to write a verse, which I was so excited about because I already loved the song so much! I ended up writing a verse in one sitting and recorded the vocals in my home studio. Seeing everything come to life has been so fun and beautiful, and I’m honored to be on a song with such stunning pop icons!! ❤ I am a Meg Smith and Molly Grace stan forever.”

Molly Grace, whose disco-drenched alt-pop and powerhouse vocals have made her one of the genre’s rising stars, delivers a fiery new verse and irresistible energy to the rework. Already a close collaborator of Meg’s, this marks their first official release together.

Alongside the release, Meg also announces she’ll be joining Molly Grace on her upcoming ‘Blush’ Tour as direct support, kicking off October 10 in Chicago, hitting 25 major cities across North America, and wrapping up November 17 in Los Angeles.

LAURA PIERI UNVEILS AN ABSOLUTE DANCE FLOOR SCORCHER “DAUGHTER OF DEMETER (ON THE DANCEFLOOR)”

We were so excited to check out Brazilian-born pop provocateur Laura Pieri , as she returns with her blazing red hot new single Daughter of Demeter (ON THE DANCEFLOOR),” a hypnotic, dance-infused reimagining of her 2024 single from the Frankie EP. The track will appear alongside “Sea of Tragedy (ON THE DANCEFLOOR)” on Frankie (ON THE DANCEFLOOR), the forthcoming expanded edition of her Frankie EP, arriving later this summer.

You can listen to “Daughter of Demeter (ON THE DANCEFLOOR)” on Spotify Here, Apple Music Here

Whereas the original “Daughter of Demeter” was a visceral, full-throttle scream fueled by rage, heartbreak, and defiance, this new version simmers with quiet confidence. “This remix is what happens when that fire simmers into something slower, sharper, and slyer,” Pieri shares. “The fury isn’t gone. There’s a defiance in turning pain into pleasure, and that’s what this version does: it lounges in heartbreak with style. It’s rage on vacation.”

The remix sees Pieri stretching the emotional range of her songwriting, nestling her fiercest lyrics into a sleek, sultry sonic landscape. “It made me rethink how we process and present emotion, especially feminine emotion,” she shares. “Sometimes healing looks like dancing. Sometimes grief shows up in a slow sway.”

Laura Pieri, creates electrifying music that is positively electrifying. We found ourselves instantly grooving to Daughter of Demeter (ON THE DANCEFLOOR),”

Originally released in May 2024, Pieri’s EP Frankie and its accompanying short film told the story of a woman reclaiming her voice and power. Co-written by an all-female team and executive produced by Skyler Cocco, the project marked a turning point for Pieri—an artistic rebirth born from the brink of walking away.

The Party Gets Even Better, Massive Attack give Emily Breeze’s “Confessions Of A Ageing Party Girl”A Makeover with Daddy G Remix

We have absolutely been loving Emily Breeze and her beyond amazing new record “Rapture” ( we put it in our day play list from day 1, and it hasn’t moved )

When we heard that Massive Attack’s Daddy G had prepared a club remix of ‘Confessions of an Ageing Party Girl’ from Emily Breeze …. We were simply elated.

You can stream the amazing remix for “Confessions Of An Aging Party Girl” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here

Speaking about his decision to remix the single, Grant Marshall (Daddy G) explained, “I’ve always loved Emily Breeze’s music, not only is she a super talent but she is also from Bristol. When I asked her if I could remix one of her tracks I was chuffed when she agreed.”

Daddy G is the walking embodiment of the Bristol sound. The intersection of Dub Reggae, Hip Hop, Punk and Dance music which conjures images of dark dancefloors and inner city bedsits is something that has never really left Bristol and it was a thrill to hear my song “Confessions of an Ageing Party Girl” teleported into that space. I used to live on the same street as Daddy G and he would smile and wave from his Orange VW van. I would never have dreamed when I used to listen to Massive Attack as a teenager that one of the founding members alongside his amazing writing/production partner Stew Jackson (Robot Club) would remix one of my songs. It’s an honour,“ exclaims Emily.

The original single ‘Confessions of an Ageing Party Girl’ was taken from Emily’s second album ‘Rapture‘ which was released on February 10th 2023 via Sugar Shack Records.
