West Texas Exiles Deliver An Absolute Gem With New EP “Volume 1”

We were honored to recently check out the new EP “Volume 1” from Austin based, West Texas bred Rock/ Americana band West Texas Exiles (Spoiler alert “Volume 1” is outstanding.)

You can listen to “Volume 1” from West Texas Exiles on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here

There’s Texas, and then there’s West Texas. You can leave it behind but you can’t let it go.

Nobody knows that better than the newly formed West Texas Exiles. Love of music and a restlessness to escape their hometowns brought them together in the Live Music Capital – Austin,Tx

The panhandle of Texas has long been the epicenter of top notch county, folk and Americana music and West Texas Exiles brilliantly takes the sound of the panhandle mixed with their own unique, honest and authentic sound that really makes the band something truly special.

The opening track of “Volume 1”, “Exile”, is a well crafted musical introduction of sorts that lays down beautifully what the band is about.

On “Charlie” the band comes up all aces. If you ever want to know what a perfect Americana/Rock song sounds like ….look no further than “Charlie”. The melody of “Charlie” is sweeter and smoother than a bottle of top shelf tequila.

Another quality that makes West Texas Exiles standout is experience. The band has a deep catalog among the 3 singer/songwriters

Marco Gutierrez (Dirty River Boys), Daniel Davis, and Colin Gilmore; backed by bassist/ producer Eric Harrison and drummer Trinidad Leal (DRB, Dixie Witch, Grady, Honky).

“Sweet LA” has this absolutely beautiful old time melody and feel that we are over the moon about. The vocals on this track are magnificently flawless, along with some of best guitar work that we have heard in a long time.

We love the energy with “Hotel Tomorrow”. It’s such a well written and put together song. We found this song to be very nostalgic (especially with the talk of baseball cards in bikes and streetlights).

The latest single “Monday Night” is another well written/great sounding melody that we absolutely love.

West Texas Exiles wraps up their extraordinary EP with “New Moon Foe” which is the perfect mix of a classic throwback, seasoned with a vibrant Americana/Rock modern vibe.

West Texas Exiles has delivered an EP with “Volume 1” that is a brilliant collection of songs that can’t be ignored.
