We recently checked out the new single and video for “Haze” from Los Angeles born and bred Latine singer, songwriter, producer, and synth goddess Alexis De la Rocha.
You can listen to “Haze” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here. You can also watch the video below.
Alexis De la Rocha has given us a magnificent gift with her latest work of art “Haze” The melodic construction of this song is otherworldly. Alexis De la Rocha works like a world class painter carefully putting together and unforgettable musical composition.
The single speaks to the cloudiness of the mind when mired in a spell of depression. It’s about making your way through the fog during those moments when you are not yourself or able to be the version of yourself that you imagined,”she says.
Influenced by the likes of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks theme and David Bowie’s instrumentation in Laybyrinth, “Haze” is a seductitve sonic offering.
What is most impressive about “Haze” is how Alexis De la Rocha artfully took 80’s synth pop and 90’s alternative and brilliantly sculpted one of the most unique and original pieces of music we’ve heard in quite sometime. Some artist lean heavy on their influences, and you don’t get to see the true scope of the artist, this is not case here whatsoever.
The video for “Haze” is the perfect visual companion. The video has this really cool fantasy/ science fiction vibe that is perfectly suited for the song .
