We are more than excited to finally be checking out the new EP “Life’s A Blur”from Brooklyn,NY based alternative band Superbloom.

We have had Superbloom on our radar since we heard both the single and EP “Pollen” in 2021. Last year we were all in on the singles “Falling Up”and “Daisy” then… earlier this year we got “Head First” and.. we also got word that we were getting the EP “Life’s A Blur” in June . Well…. Here we are and it was worth the wait.

‘Life’s A Blur’ was produced by Superbloom, and recorded by Brian DiMeglio (Bartees Strange, Quinton Brock) at Brooklyn Recording Paradise with mixing/mastering by Zach Tuch (Touché Amore, Cafuné’s ‘Tek It’, Silverstein). The album art is by Houston-based psychedelic collage artist, Patrick Turk.

Being the music geeks that we are at The Whole Kameese we love how the EP has both and intro and outro ( we told you were music geeks ) In addition to the intro and outro the band has brilliantly woven in some tasty sound nuggets in between the songs.

Superbloom waste no time delivering the goods on “Life’s A Blur” – “Pig” is an absolutely sonically and melodic delight . The song has a real familiar sound while at the time Superbloom makes it 100% their own “Pig” is the kind of song that needs be on 11 with the windows rolled down .

“Head First” is an explosive, catchy tune that is almost impossible to shake . You can really feel the electric chemistry in Superbloom on this one .

The title track “Life’s A Blur” is a trippy slower tempo track that was more like a musical experience than just a single song

“Tiny Bodyguard” is just an incredible tune from start to finish per our original review “Tiny Bodyguard “ has this epically cool vibe to it . Superbloom has the skilled ability to come at you at full steam , like they did with previous single “Head First “ but, as the prove with “Tiny Bodyguard “ they can effortlessly switch gears “

We feel like Superbloom ( Dave Hoon (vocals/guitars), Tim Choate (guitars), Brian DiMeglio (bass) and Matteo Dix (drums) are just getting warmed up , these guys are the real deal. If “Life’s A Blur” from Superbloom isn’t named one of 2023’s best EP’s then someone needs their ears checked
