We were so excited to check BUDGIE “Never Turn Your Back On A Friend “ – 50 Years later from Pale Wizard Records . Pale Wizard Records is a labor of love for it’s co-founders Tim Hilleard and Dan Flitcroft. In 2021 they released their first “50 Years Later LP which was a tribute to the classic Alice Cooper record “Killer” . Then they followed that up with last year’s tribute to Bowie’s incredible “Ziggy Stardust “

If you are a rock fan there is a pretty good chance you have heard Budgie even if you have never “heard “ of Budgie .

Budgie a rock and roll from Cardiff in wales released their third album in 1973 “Never Turn Your Back On A Friend . Recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios . The album made Budgie’s music legendary. Budgie has been covered by Van Halen, Iron Maiden. and perhaps most famously by Metallica

The opening track of the album is the classic “Breadfan” which most know from the cover version done by Metallica . “Breadfan” is the lead single of the “50 Years Later “ project and is flawlessly covered by Birmingham’s (UK) own Alunah ( we literally had goosebumps)

Every single band pours their heart and soul into these timeless classics. We loved the blues filled “Baby Please Don’t Go “ from Firegarden Sone of other favorites, “Riding My Nightmare “ from Great Electric Quest and “Parents” from Sergeant Thunderhoof
