We recently checked out the new single”Good News “ from Salt Lake City indie/alt-rock band City Ghost

City Ghost is an indie/alt rock band hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah. Formed in 2018 by vocalist and musician O’Neill and guitarist Mascarenas, the two were drawn together by their different musical backgrounds, Mascarenas deeply rooted in the hardcore/emo scene and O’Neill who was an indie-folk singer/songwriter. After a few apartment jam sessions, the musical synergy between the two was undeniable. Enlisting the help of versatile musicians Sam Richards (guitar), Chase Griffis (bass), and Ken Vallejos (drums)

“Good News” is “a sentiment for being fed up with mental health struggles and just wanting to find the light at the end of the tunnel. The song ebbs and flows through themes of struggle and relief, and crisis and hope,”confides lead singer O’Neill

The song is the first single off of their upcoming EP Cause and Effect, a rapturing and emotive five song collection all about navigating depression and anxiety and finding healing through treatment.

We absolutely love “Good News” the song soars both sonically and melodically. The song features absolutely flawless vocals . City Ghost are a well oiled musical tour de force. We can’t wait for the EP . In the mean we will put “Good News” on repeat.
