We Are All In On SEPARATR And Their New EP “QUEEN ACE”

We get a lot of music here at The Whole Kameese , some of it is good and some of it is not . There is also a third category for some of the music we get it’s the “Holy Smokes this band and their music is freaking amazing category” This is the category that New Jersey based pop/indie/pixie punk band SEPARATR falls under .

We recently sat down in our favorite listening spot and listened to SEPARATR’s new EP “Queen Ace”

Joe Douglas and Stephanie Melvin had a band in 2019 however, they couldn’t seem to keep a drummer (we get it our boss is a drummer) So they bought a drum machine and started over and Separatar was born

Separatr is a pop/indie /pixie punk duo based in Asbury Park , New Jersey consisting of husband and wife Joe Douglas and Stephanie Melvin. The duo originally from Bellingham, Washington, sold most of their belongings got in a band and headed for the east coast (If that doesn’t scream punk we don’t know what does )

“Queen Ace” is the kind of EP where you can press play and never skip a track , there isn’t a bad song to be found.

The Opening track “Obvious” is probably one most addicting rock songs we’ve heard in a while ( We caught ourselves randomly singing the chorus through out the day . ) seriously the song has an incredible groove we kept this one on repeat for a bit .

“Directionless” was originally written on piano by Stephanie it was soon transformed into a punk rock anthem which, led them on the quest to create “Queen Ace” ( We are very glad all of those events happened)

“Deadstock“ has a real mysterious vibe to it . The guitar parts coupled with perfect vocals really make this track stand out .

“Call it “ has this really cool jangle / noise guitar sound .We liked how the vocals were paired with a rushed tempo . Separatr is really good at paying attention to every detail in the song process, this really separates them from other bands .

The Final track “First In Line is in our opinion Separatr at their absolute best the song is melodically and sonically perfect and the vocals are flawless.

Separatr is that band that you want to tell everybody about and their EP “Queen Ace “ is the kind of EP You could listen to forever
