We were so excited to check out alt-pop singer Rachel Bochner’s brand new EP “It’s Not Me,It’s U” on Handwritten Records.

We’ve have had August 11th circled on our calendar, for quite some time. It has been an absolute pleasure to witness the artistry of Rachel Bochner, as she has been releasing such well crafted music that has lead to the release of “It’s Not Me,It’s U”

The 6-track EP includes recent singles “Hard To Please,” “Here For The Drama,” “If I’m Gunna Be Sad (I Might As Well Look Hot Doing It),” and “Sucker Punch,” as well as two brand new tracks, “You Don’t Want Me Like That” and “Men Like You.”

Across the record, Rachel unfurls a potent concoction of alt-pop songs that dance between vulnerable, melancholic, energetic, and playful. Her songwriting fearlessly taps into the ups-and-downs of navigating heartbreak and self-discovery as a twenty-something woman in today’s world.

“It’s Not Me, It’s U’ is about how we try to make ourselves feel a little better through messy emotions and heartbreak, even if they aren’t the healthiest coping mechanisms,” she says. “The project was inspired by highs and lows I’ve experienced – from the mental gymnastics I’ve done to justify avoiding blame to feeling empowered to speak up when someone does me dirty. Before I even realized it was happening, making this EP helped me learn to lean into my feelings, find humor in the darkness, and remember that I’m in charge of my self-worth.”

Rachel Bochner is a world class singer -songwriter who writes unbelievable songs with addictive melodies. “It’s Not Me, It’s U” does not disappoint, this is one EP you can listen to from beginning to end “

Opening track “Here For The Drama” is the absolutely perfect opener. An addicting chorus laced killer melodies and Perfect vocals make “Here For The Drama “ a can’t miss.

If we had to pick a favorite track (So hard to do) We would go with “You Don’t Want Me Like That” . We love everything about this track . We even found ourselves singing this one long after the music stopped.

We were simply mesmerized by both “Hard To Please and “If I’m Gunna Be Sad”(I Might As Well Look Hot Doing It” )These two songs are further proof that Rachel Bochner is talented songwriter who has a knack for writing perfect melodies.

“Sucker Punch” has a really cool intro and we love the low end sound on this track, it really adds another dimension to the track .

On the final track “Men like You” Rachel Bochner absolutely shines . “Men Like You” is an absolute smash . What a way to close an EP.”Men Like You” is the perfect excuse to break out into a spontaneous dance party.
