I often get asked “Why do you love music so much? While there are numerous reasons, The main reason is that it brings me absolute joy to bring attention to bands that need to be heard. Bristol (UK) alt-indie 4 piece Adult Leisure,is without question a band that deserves and needs to be heard .
The latest single “Borderline” is an absolute musical gem that we can’t get enough of . You can listen to “Borderline” Here.
We fell instantly for Adult Leisure and their brilliant alt-indie sound and with “Borderline “ the love affair continues.

Formed in 2020, the band released a string of celebrated singles before unveiling their debut critically acclaimed EP ‘The Weekend Ritual’ in December of 2022, streamed over 60,000 times to date and championed by BBC Radio 1, Variance Magazine, The Independent, RTE and more, which soon saw the band embarking on multiple tours of the UK, earning a handful of rave live reviews along the way.
“Borderline”, was recorded and mixed with Ollie Searle at Humm Studios and mastered by John Webber (David Bowie, Duran Duran, Coach Party). Rhythmically and texturally, Borderline is a clear continuation of what they built with their previous EP, yet there’s an added sense of urgency bubbling throughout. Rich melodies, radiant synths and explosive drums come together with Neil’s anguished vocals slicing through the atmosphere like a knife, lyrically exploring the emotions that come after the end of a long-term relationship.
Reflecting on the single the band explain: “Dave had sent through a Police-y style demo back last April (2023) and we knew we wanted this to be the next release after our second EP, it felt like a continuation of our sound.
Borderline was inspired by the break-up of a long term relationship around that time for Neil and the feeling of hindsight in the months following it. We always try to write from a personal perspective, however these feelings are so common amongst people that there’s a strange balance of the situation being incredibly personal yet not alone. We allowed ourselves more time in the recording process to try new things and develop our sound, and with thanks to our producer Ollie, we feel it’s sonically our best song to date.”
We are absolutely smitten with “Borderline” and we can’t wait to see what Adult Leisure does next.
