We were absolutely captivated by melodic wonder of “Warm In The Winter” from Kurt Baker.

Kurt says, Warm in the Winter” for me is kind of a classic Wyatt Funderburk / KB tune. We’ve been writing songs together for years now. It all started with the song “Telephone Operator” which was recorded by my first band The Leftovers, and became a regional hit in places like San Diego, Biddeford, Maine and Kenosha, Wisconsin. That was back in 2009. Well, now it’s 2025, and Wyatt and I are still working together after all these years. We’ve worked on many records together, and it is always just a pleasure to collaborate on music with him. “Warm in the Winter” was written during the songwriting sessions for my last LP “Rock n Roll Club”. We didn’t end up recording it finally, but got around to it last year. It’s a timely song as we are now in the dead of winter, and musically it’s kind of the perfect balance of power pop and pop punk. Definitely influences of Elvis Costello (duh), Screeching Weasel (high school KB to the max), and Green Day (gods). I hope you enjoy it!”

When it comes to crafting magnificent power pop masterpieces, Kurt Baker , is an absolute master , and “Warm In The Winter” is one of his absolute best .

What we love about Kurt Baker , is how he is able to take so many different musical elements and mold it into a power pop gem . On “Warm In The Winter” you can hear elements of surf, pop, rock , punk . It is literally a cornucopia of musical goodness and we love every minute of it.
