We recently had the opportunity to check out the reimagined version of “I Got You” from Søren Hansen, co-founder of the platinum-selling band New Politics. You can listen to the reimagined version of “I Got YouHere

Søren Hansen,  co-founder of the platinum-selling band New Politics, has embarked on a new chapter in his musical journey. Now based in Nashville, he has recently shifted his focus to solo work. Following his 2024 self-titled solo LP, Søren is preparing to release an EP this spring via Enci Records featuring stripped-down versions of five deeply personal tracks off the album, including the first single, “I Got You (Stripped).”

We love the sound vibe of “I Got You” from Søren Hansen, he artfully has given the track a stunning new dimension that we absolutely love.

These songs reflect the highs and lows of his life—from childhood struggles to personal loss. Each track, in its raw and intimate form, showcases Søren’s ability to transform profound emotions into music that resonates with listeners on a heartfelt level.

Søren says,  This is “I Got You” Stripped! I wanted to record a version of the song that focuses on lyrics and emotion in a different way. There are a lot of changes happening in America (and the rest of the world) right now and I’ve always felt this song had a strong positive message so I’m happy to be able to release it like this now! We had a lot of fun recording and filming it and I hope you like it!”

Regarding the project, he adds, I’ve always loved stripped-down versions of album songs. A full production is fun but you shine a different kind of light on a song and the vocals when it is down to its bare bones – a certain kind of fragility. I wanted to record some of the songs from my debut record like this to convey that emotion and highlight the lyrics. I really enjoyed recording these and I hope you’ll enjoy them, as well!”

Do yourself and check out “I Got You” from Søren Hansen, you most definitely won’t regret it.
