We recently had the stellar opportunity, to checkout the new single and video for “Boyfriends”, from Career Woman (aka 21-year-old songwriter Melody Caudill) featuring anti-folk artist Pacing.

“Boyfriends” might have just become our new favorite song . We are absolutely obsessed with the melody and flawless vocals on the track . Career Woman (Melody Caudill) and Pacing (Katie McTigue) have created indie music perfection.

Boyfriends” is an ode to the changing nature of friendship in the face of new relationships. Co-written by Caudill and Pacing’s Katie McTigue, the two trade verses, ending in unison with a pop-rock refrain of “me and my friends, we don’t like men / but we got boyfriends.” 

What originally started as a duet was then filled in by Career Woman’s full band, reaching the track’s final form. “Everyone in the band loved the song so much that we started playing with the full rock band arrangement at our live shows,” explains Caudill. “It became an instant hit in our local scene, so we knew we had to bottle up that version and release it. This version of the song is so much fun, and I am so glad that Katie was able to sing on it as well, since the song is essentially our musical child.”

We are super excited for the debut album from Career Woman, “Lighthouse” will be released to the universe, June 6th , via Lauren Records.
