Maggie Kane , is a talented and gifted songwriter/ storyteller that artfully crafts songs that have vibrant pop sensibilities and subtle synth textures. We were literally hanging on every melody and word of “Candied Ginger” as if it were a page turning best selling novel.

Maggie Kane, through her music speaks to the soft-hearted and the overthinkers, with a sound that sits somewhere between the whimsy of Gabrielle Aplin and the wistful intimacy of Lizzy McAlpine. Candied Ginger explores the lingering aftertaste left behind when a relationship ends. It’s for anyone who’s ever held on too long and felt the quiet ache of knowing it’s time to move on.

Speaking about , “Candied Ginger” , Maggie shares : The song was born from a fleeting moment—being handed a ginger candy by someone I knew I had to let go of,” says Kane. “It became a metaphor for the things we keep consuming, even when we know they’re not good for us. When I’m working through something complicated, I always find myself at the piano—and this time, that feeling became a song.”

Kane’s roots are in the theatre—she’s the co-creator and lyricist of “this old haunt”, a folk musical and 2025 O’Neill semifinalist. Previously, it has had an academic premiere at Carnegie Mellon University, workshopped through NYU’s Tisch New Theatre, Fort Salem Theatre, as well as participated in the Latiné Musical Theatre Lab and Prospect Theater Company’s New Musical Mixtape concert. Maggie was a finalist for 2024’s international songwriting competition Write Out Loud Across all her original work, Kane explores coming of age and the female experience with a voice that’s been described as poetic and raw.
