Fun fact… When we started the blog back in 2020, we were actually called “Big League Music” , due to our extreme love of baseball and music. Six years later we may have a new name but our love of baseball and music still remains. ( especially the Red Sox )
In the spirit of opening day, we highly recommend that you get into full baseball mode by listening to “Wish I Could Be(Spaceman Bill Lee)” , off of the 2023 album, “Creative People “ , from Western Mass, rock band, The Will Call. You can listen to the song Here
“Wish I Could Be (Spaceman Bill Lee)” from The Will Call, is a straight up major league size jam that absolutely rocks. The song literally feels like it is going to bust out of our speakers and head straight for the moon. The songwriting/ storytelling on this tune is simply out of this world.
Baseball, is full of legendary characters, and Bill “Spaceman” Lee, is no exception. Bill Lee, had a color major league career with most notably the Red Sox and Montreal Expos. Lee’s big league career ended in 1982. But Spaceman, who is 79 years young, continues to entertain baseball crowds, most recently with The Savannah Bananas.
So in honor of opening day, dust off your glove and put on your favorite team’s colors and crank up “Wish I Could Be (Spaceman Bill Lee) from The Will Call .
