We were instantly enthralled by the heavenly and dreamy musical goodness that flowed effortlessly on “Shimmer” , from [The] Music of Sound.

Through dream-pop textures, spacious electronic soundscapes and emotionally resonant songwriting, the single delivers a message of hope and unity to an increasingly divided world, celebrating resilience over fear and hatred.

Comprised of Gen Z musicians Sherin and Elena alongside veteran composer, producer and radio broadcaster Neil March, and Elena Trent , the band have drawn comparisons to Beach House, Saint Etienne, Chromatics and Future Islands while carving out a musical identity that defies comparison, and is unmistakably their own. [The] Music of Sound, are next level musicians that remind us why we love music so much.

Recorded by the band themselves and mastered by Mark L. Beazley (Trace Recordings), ‘Shimmer’ pairs Sherin’s ethereal vocals with Elena’s haunting flute, layered harmonies and Neil’s distinctive piano style, transforming difficult themes into an uplifting and atmospheric anthem.

Speaking on the single, vocalist Sherin says, “We wanted the song to send a clear message of hope and belief in kindness and unity over hate and division. There’s a line that says ‘Cowards victimise / but the brave always are kind’ which sums up how we feel.”

The release marks another milestone in a breakthrough year for the trio, who have surpassed 150,000 streams already this year. [The] Music of Sound has a UK tour planned for November 2026, with details to be announced soon.
