We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the new single “Tourmaline” from All My Friends, via Moon Barn Records. We were absolutely floored , “Tourmaline “ freaking rocks !
All My Friends, is a one-woman wrecking ball of punk ferocity and undeniable hooks, led by LGBTQ songwriter Christina Picciano. Based out of Westchester County, New York.
She has been hard at work on the band’s upcoming full-length record. Along the way, she has left a trail of breadcrumbs, including the singles “Pennsylvania,” “Do You Want Me?” and the recently banned from TikTok Anti-Trump single “How Could You?” Now, Picciano is releasing her brand new queer rallying cry, “Tourmaline.”
Thomas Evans photo credit
With towering riffs and a call for all creeps to back-the-fuck-off, Picciano describes the song as “bubble gum grunge with bite — a fierce, queer anthem about reclaiming your energy from an ‘energy vampire.'” adding that “it’s a cathartic protection spell in song form.”
Christina Picciano, is a next level songwriter, who has created an absolute gem with , “Tourmaline “, that has a melody that resonates for days .
We recently had the stellar opportunity, to check out the new single, “MB Anthem ( The Market Basket Song) , via Rum Bar Records from long time Boston , based band, Stop Calling Me Frank. You can listen to the instantly iconic “MB ANTHEM ( The Market Basket Song) on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here
Those of us lucky enough to call New England home , can’t but help but feel a sense of pride when the subject of the iconic New England based , supermarket Market Basket , comes up. With their iconic slogan “More For Your Dollar”,that feels more like a way of life than a slogan Market Basket, is undeniably New England.
Not too long ago, Terry O’Malley of Stop Calling Me Frank got unexpectedly caught up in perhaps the most New England experience imaginable – he was stuck in traffic behind a bunch of cars all headed to the local Market Basket.
“I saw a line of cars stopped on a highway off-ramp that leads to a plaza with a Market Basket,” recalls the saxophonist of the venerable Boston rock band. “I said ‘Everybody’s going to the Market Basket!’ sort of as a joke, but I liked the way those words scanned.”
Tapping into the New England zeitgeist of our modern day, one lined with salmon-colored checker board floors, maroon jackets, and a whole lot of savings, Stop Calling Me Frank soon had a proper rock and roll banger on their collective hands. The sweaty, beer-fueled, and sax-driven rock and roll band now unleash “MB Anthem (The Market Basket Song)” today (Friday, September 26) on Rum Bar Records.
Of course, this rabble-rousing ode to the beloved grocery chain, a classic Stop Calling Me Frank cocktail of jittery hooks and bratty punk-rock urgency, arrives (admittedly unintentionally) at a controversial moment in Market Basket’s history. It hits the streams just over two weeks after the company’s board of directors infamously voted to oust beloved longtime CEO Arthur T. (“Artie T.”) Demoulas over disagreements on how to run the once-family business
All I know is that I love the employees of the Market Basket, and the employees love Artie T.!” says bassistDan Caspariello. “So I’m already on their side for this one. The other thing that boggles my mind is how much more money do you need? It’s all about greed.”

O’Malley, Caspar jello, and Stop Calling Me Frank as a band, assert with conviction that this song is for Market Basket, its long-standing culture, and the legions of people who have shopped, with unwavering dedication, at one of the 95 stores around Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine since the grocery store was first founded way back in 1917.
In the usual Stop Calling Me Frank style of loud-fast-fun, the 100-second-long “MB Anthem (The Market Basket Song)” follows a streak of hyperactivity from the band, which got back in the proverbial van just before the pandemic after 25 years out of the Boston scene. In January of this year they released The First Six Years compilation, a callback to those early days, and followed that up with a pair of animated singles in April’s gritty “Good Enough” and July’s punchy “Where You Gonna Hide.”
The band – O’Malley and Caspariello rounded out by vocalistLennie Donohoe, drummerEddie Barese, and guitaristsDavid Forbes and Jeff Ousborne – knew they had something special when O’Malley first came to them with the music and lyrics of “MB Anthem.”
“The first verse came right away,” he adds. “I quickly gave up trying to rhyme ‘basket’ repeatedly and focused on internal rhymes. The guys liked it right away, but it was still a work in progress. I was still tinkering with the exact word order even while we were recording it.”
A bit of “Frankifying” was done by the band, adding their own special flair to the composition, and the track was complete. Recording took place at engineer Ed Riemer’s Edsbarn studio in Canton, about six miles or so from the closest Market Basket in nearby Brockton. The band plans to head back there later this fall to record a few more songs that will appear on a new Stop Calling Me Frank album, but in the meantime, the gentlemen are focused on “MB Anthem.”
It doesn’t matter if you prefer the rotisserie chicken or the delicious hand made donuts at Market Basket,we can all agree Stop Calling Me Frank, has crafted an absolute gem with , “MB Anthem ( The Market Basket Song”

Misery is the second single from their upcoming first full length release “The View of the Bystander” which releases on August 8, via the fine folks from High End Denim Records.
You can listen to the glorious new single, “Misery” Here
Broken Yolks ( besides having a killer name) have a refreshing, high energy and vibrant punk sound that we are absolutely mesmerized about . “Misery” is the perfect tune to make your punk rock heart, extremely happy.
The track is a haunting, introspective song that personifies emotional pain as a familiar yet destructive companion. The lyrics explore the lingering impact of trauma, depression, or heartbreak—experiences that, once ignored or buried, return with greater force. The song identifies a toxic comfort in revisiting emotional suffering, almost like welcoming back an old friend. The song captures the complex relationship we can develop with our darker thoughts—resisting them, missing them, and fearing their return all at once.
So go find your favorite music listening spot, and go get lost in the punk rock goodness of “Misery”, from Broken Yolks.

We recently had the stellar opportunity to check out the latest single, “Creature Of Habit” via Kinda Cool Records , from East Vancouver, Canada, based melodic punks, Die Job. You can listen to melodic punk goodness that is “Creature Of Habit” on Spotify Here, Apple Music Here
If punk rock is your thing….. wait….if you like music of any kind you owe it to you music loving heart to check out “Creature Of Habit”, from punk rock geniuses, Die Job.
We listen to a lot of music (we’re a music blog it’s what we do ) However, we were absolutely blown away by Die Job. Any band who can incorporate a Viola ( yes we said Viola) in a punk band deserves the key to the city they live in and their own holiday .
The next level musicianship that is present in Die Job is off the charts . (We are pretty sure that Die Job could turn “Row Row Your Boat” in to a punk rock masterpiece)
What needs not to be lost about Die Job, is that neatly placed within the wondrous Melodic tones of “Creature Of Habit “ is the authentic and honest truth that truly make Die Job, standout – Bravo
We are wicked pumped to finally check out the new EP, “OLLIE”, via Hey!Fever Records from Southern California punk band Heartwells. You can listen to “Ollie” on Spotify Here, Apple Music Here
Heartwells have an infectious sound and vibe that comes at you fast and furious, this is on full display on the band’s latest EP, “Ollie. If you are not hyped up after this EP, we suggest medical attention- freaking brilliant!
“This record is extremely sentimental and personal to me,”says Heartwells’sJT, who wrote what he calls “probably the saddest song I’ve ever written” about his father. “We feel we’ve come a long way since our last release. The chemistry and dynamic of the band really shine on this EP—it feels like a full-length record in just six songs.”
From the first note on the first track, “Over Me”, there is no denying the sheer power, emotion, and energy that is ever present throughout “OLLIE”
Following up their fan-favorite The New Old School, the band put everything on the table to push themselves further. Two songs were written in the studio on the spot, with band members creating their parts without hearing the songs beforehand—an approach that was “both exciting and stressful,” according to JT.
Recorded at Buzzbomb Studios in Orange, CA with longtime producer Paul Miner, the EP benefits from a collaborative energy and veteran production touch. “Paul has been our guiding light from the start,”JT says. “He really stepped up as a producer on this one, helping bring out the full potential of every song.” The EP was mastered by Chris Hesse of Hoobastank, giving Ollie its polished yet punchy final sound.
The title Ollie is a nod to both the band’s skatepunk roots and the adorable dog featured on the cover—Moki’s pup, Ollie. It’s a playful visual for a record that dives deep into themes of personal struggle, fractured relationships, family dynamics, and social unrest. “It’s a pretty dark record,” JT explains, “but it has a lot of bright energy. I figured putting a cute dog on the cover would balance it out.”
We are all in on Heartwells and their spectacular new EP, “Ollie” And…. We think you will be too.
New EP coming June 20 titled I Think It’s Time To Leave…
We recently had the glorious opportunity to check out the new single, “Time” from Massachusetts punks, Already Dead (Spoiler Alert: This Song Freaking Scorches) You can listen to “Time” on Spotify Here , Apple Music , Bandcamp Here
We have been pretty smitten with the raw and powerful sound from Already Dead, for quite some time. Now they come roaring back into view with their explosive new single, “Time” The blazing new single, comes ahead of their new EP, “I Think It’s Time To Leave..” which arrives, June 20th .
Courtesy Of The Band
The new record comes hot on the heels of last year’s explosive Something Like a War album – which earned the band mentions and microphones everywhere from WGBH’sThe Culture Show and WBUR, Boston’s NPR to New Noise, Maximum Rocknroll, and Dying Scene – and delivers Already Dead’s first-ever vinyl issue. The 7-inch release party goes down Saturday, June 28 at Koto in Lowell alongside Vauli, The McGunks, and Autumn Astronauts.
The new record also shows off a reloaded and rebooted Already Dead lineup, as founding members Dan Cummings (vocals and guitar) and Brandon Bartlett (vocals and guitars) are now rounded out by Ian Killpartrick (bass) and Forgie (drums). Cummings and Bartlett, who also split writing duties on this record, with Bartlett taking on an enhanced role in the band’s creative process, did not have to look far for the new members. In fact, they just had to look at their own teenage backyards located just outside of Boston
“The whole band is now from the same damn small town, born and raised,”Cummings says with a laugh. “We all know each other in different ways, and are somewhat separated by age, but there is a certain camaraderie when you grew up partying in the same woods or neighborhoods. It made it really easy to be comfortable and start creating immediately.”
“Time”, is Already Dead , at their very best . They couple smart , honest lyrics with raw and electrifying melodies that leave a lasting impression.
We can’t wait for the new EP, “I Think It’s Time To Leave..” Meanwhile, we will pass the time by cranking the epic new single, “Time”
We recently had the distinct honor to check out the latest single/video, for “Alright//Too Slow”, from rising South London Pop-Punk gem Keeper. You can listen to “Alright//Too Slow” on Spotify Here, Apple Music Here
You can check out the blazing video, for “Alright//TooSlow” ( which is an absolute work of art) below
“Alright//Too Slow “, from Keeper, is an infectious adrenaline rush, that we simply can’t get out of our soul!
Following on from the release of his latest singles ‘Taste It’ and ‘Cynical’ – which garnered high praise from BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock show host Alyx Holcombe and others – Keeper explores recovery and self-love in his latest single ‘Alright/Too Slow’.
On ‘Alright/Too Slow’, Keeper’sEmanuel Andrade shared ‘This track […] is about acknowledging the damage and pain but refusing to let it define you. It’s about pulling yourself up, moving on, and chasing the goals that once felt hindered by the relationship.’
Discussing the lyrical content, Keepercontinued – ‘one of my favorite moments is the fourth-wall break after the solo: ‘It’s so hard to accept the fact that I’m feeling better alone. You’re losing sleep and I’m out here, still singing this song’. That line hits especially hard because, despite being blocked, my ex has found new ways to reach out—new Instagram accounts, new numbers. It’s honestly terrifying, and this song is a very real reflection of that for me. When I find myself in those moments, I listen back—almost like I’m speaking to myself. It makes me realize just how much I’ve changed, how far I’ve come, and all the steps I’ve taken—not just to get back to normal, but to be better.’
There is so much to love about, Keeper, and his electrifying approach to music, it honestly is so refreshing to hear an artist who doesn’t take their foot off the gas, even for a second.
Music is meant to be exciting and exhilarating, and you definitely get that on “Alright//Too Slow” from Keeper
It is in our opinion, not if Keeper, will be the next big thing but…. When
We recently had the distinct honor to check out the new single, “Blood On The Ceiling”via HEY!EVER Records, from L.A. punks, EMPIRED. You can listen to “Blood On The Ceiling” Here
We are absolutely taken by the phenomenal new single, “Blood OnThe Ceiling “ , from EMPIRED. Just when we think we have heard the best from EMPIRED, they release another epic single , that totally blows our minds. This is absolutely the case with their latest single, “Blood On The Ceiling”
Empired Photo: @The_Corona_Chronicles
Recorded and mixed by Empired guitarist Cam Mosavian and mastered by the legendary Paul Miner, the single will appear on the band’s upcoming release.
“Blood on the Ceiling is about growing up with a mentally unstable parent that struggles with drug addiction. The confusion, the pain, and learning about love through forgiveness while also learning about hate as that forgiveness can backfire. Through it all though, there is hope and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We just have to hang in there as best as we can to move forward. It’s not about the family we are born into but the family we choose,” says Bruce Zebal of Empired.
The vocals on , “Blood On The Ceiling” are a thing of freaking beauty . The band are highly skilled musicians who craft songs that stay deep within your soul long after the music has ended.
Established in May 2023, EMPIRED is the brainchild of Jai Hansel (Bass, Vocals), Danny Baeza (Drums), and Bruce Zebal (Guitar, Vocals). Their instant chemistry propelled them into the studio with renowned producer Paul Miner (known for his work with Death By Stereo, Thrice, New Found Glory).
Recognizing the need for an additional guitar to enhance their sound, Cameron Mosavian (The Overrides, Piss and Blood) joined the group. Harnessing this newfound momentum, EMPIRED composed and recorded the entirety of their debut LP, “Finding Calm in the Chaos,” quickly transitioning to a packed schedule of shows across Southern California.
Having signed with HEY!FEVER Records and already completed several tours–with more dates on the horizon– EMPIRED’S trajectory is one of continuous growth and unwavering determination.
We have said it before and it bears repeating… We are all in on EMPIRED …. And we can’t wait for what happens next.

June 7th San Diego, CA at The Tower Bar (w/ Toxins)
If you are constantly on the hunt for new music, boy do we have a band and an album for you…. We recently had the splendid opportunity to check out the new album, “Accidentally Funding The End Of The World “, via the fine folks from , Thousands Island Records, from Greek technical punk force Qualia and the Five Ancestors of the Great Maryland Kingdom. The amazing new album, comes after seven years of silence.
You can listen to “Accidentally Funding The End Of The World “Here
Regular readers of “The Whole Kameese” know that we find an album that we are over the moon excited about , we want to shout it from the rooftops. “Accidentally Funding The End Of The World “ , from Qualia and the Five Ancestors of the Great Maryland Kingdom, is definitely one of those albums.
Formed in Athens, Greece in 2016, QUALIA quickly made waves in the local scene with their debut single The Overview Effect(2017), followed by their first album in 2018 released with support from Polyscope Music. Featuring standout tracks like Mr. S (Is a Snake Merchant) and Vantablack, the band blended elements of technical skate punk, mathcore breakdowns, and an explosive mix of clean vocals and screams.
Over the years, QUALIA have shared stages with bands like Mute, Acid Snot, The Burnt Tapes, and Greek staples like Day Oof and The Overjoyed. In 2019, they toured Italy, performing at La Cabotina alongside Blowfuse and Lineout, and later joined Punk on Sea Vol. 2 in 2022 at Okio Cafe.
With Accidentally Funding the End of the World, QUALIA stick to their roots while pushing the envelope of their genre—expect surgical riffing, aggressive rhythms, and sharp, socially aware lyrics. The band continues to define and defy what technical punk rock can sound like.
“Accidentally Funding The End Of The World “ is a brilliantly crafted punk rock masterpiece. From start to finish our jaw was on the floor in complete amazement of the musical greatness that flowed out of the record.
The opening track, “Devil’s Garage”, is more than a song , it is an epic breathtaking melodic experience. We found ourselves singing along almost instantly.
“Dreams Of Blue, Deeds Of Red”, “Styrofoam ( Wasting Away)”, and “Rounding”, are some of our favorite tracks from the album. If we had to pick our absolute favorite track, it would be without question, “The Conversationalist”. We loved everything about the track, flawless vocals and the next level musicianship and playing on “The Conversationalist”, is off the charts.
Stop whatever you are doing and treat your ears to the absolute magic of , Accidentally Funding The End Of The World “, from Qualia and the Five Ancestors of the Great Maryland Kingdom. You won’t be disappointed.
It is next to impossiblenot to get wrapped up in the punk rock goodness of “Insolence” from Walt Hamburger.
Insolence,” is a punchy, full-band anthem exploring the isolating realities of modern dating culture. The track sets the tone for Hamburger’s upcoming album “…And Louie!” — due out June 20th — and features an all-star cast of punk rock royalty.
“Insolence” showcases a powerhouse lineup: Neil Hennessy (The Lawrence Arms), Asher Simon (Joey Cape’s Bad Loud), Mikey Erg (The Ergs,The Unlovables), and Jon Snodgrass (Drag the River, Scorpios). The result? A gritty, heartfelt, and infectious punk jam that will resonate with fans of Joey Cape, Jon Snodgrass, Frank Turner, Bryan Walstrom, and Tim Barry.
“…And Louie!” continues Walt Hamburger’s evolution from underground hero to genre mainstay. Known for blending sharp wit, emotional depth, and infectious energy, Walt brings the same passion that’s defined his career—from his early days in The Hamburgers, to his time on One Week Records and Barely Standing Records, to his solo ventures and charitable work with theWalt Hamburger Foundation 501(c)3.
We have put “Insolence” , on repeat and can’t for “….And Louie!” as it marks a bold new chapter, fusing Hamburger’s DIY ethos with the muscle of a seasoned full band.

We are beyond excited, to finally check out the new EP, “Brittle But Elite”, via the fine folks from High End Denim Records, from Charlottetown, PEI , punks , TeethOut. You can listen to “Brittle But Elite “ Here
Formed in 2024 in Charlottetown, PEI, TeethOut is a punk band that plays like they’re still 20—fast, loud, and with something to prove. Rooted in the traditions of skatepunk and 90s melodic hardcore, the band blends breakneck speed with introspective lyricism, delivering a sound that’s both nostalgic and urgent. Despite their recent formation, TeethOut has already earned a reputation for raw, high-energy live shows and no-frills punk songwriting.
We were immediately drawn to the style , sound and vibe of TeethOut. They pour everything they have in to their music and, it shows glowingly on “BrittleBut Elite”
The project began with a simple idea: reconnect with the cathartic energy of the music they grew up on. Early writing sessions between founding members Jason, Josh, and Ira sparked what would become Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is, their debut EP released in January 2025 on High End DenimRecords. Tracks like “Streetlights” and “Down on Queen” introduced listeners to a band unafraid to mix emotional honesty with punk aggression.
The lineup has since solidified with Josh Lavigne (vocals), Ira Banks (guitar), Brandon Doyle (guitar), Pete MacDonald (bass), and Jason Ezeard (drums). Each member brings decades of experience in East Coast punk and hardcore, but TeethOut is more than a throwback project—it’s a reaction to the chaos of modern life and a commitment to staying loud through it all.
If you like punk rock…. TeethOut, is the band that will get you to love punk rock. The band has further crafted and redefine their already killer sound and elevated it to new heights with their second EP , Brittle But Elite
Featuring a guest spot from Madison Regan (Last Good Thing) on the lead track “Lifeline II,” the new record digs deeper into themes of regret, survival, and hope in a collapsing world. From the explosive melancholy of “Walking Down” to the stripped-down vulnerability of “Cancel Me (Acoustic),” the EP balances chaos with clarity—delivered at full speed. TeethOut, is not a one trick pony and it really shows on “Brittle But Elite”

We recently had the extraordinary opportunity to check out the new single, “Just A Phase” , via HEY!FEVER Records, from LA punks, EMPIRED . You can listen to “Just A Phase” Here
Ever since we heard “Money”, from EMPIRED, we been absolutely fascinated with the band. Now with their latest single, “Just A Phase” our fascination continues.
Recorded and mixed by EMPIRED guitarist Cam Mosavian and mastered by the legendary Paul Miner, the single will appear on the band’s upcoming release.
“A hard hitting song with soulful verses and big choruses, Just A Phase explores the end of a relationship. Is it for the better? Are we truly better off? Were we to blame for it ending? Nothing lasts forever and Empired celebrates that like the wake of a loved one,” says Bruce Zebal of Empired.
The moving vocal performance combined with a memorable melody make “Just A Phase”, from EMPIRED, absolutely shine . If music is in your soul, you owe it to yourself to check out this stunning new song!
If the new EP, “Before The Fall” from-based accordion-driven country-rock sextet Kier Byrnes & The Kettle Burners , was whiskey it would be from the best barrel in the land – guaranteed. You can listen to the splendid new EP, “BeforeThe Fall” below
the high-octane sextet, led by longtime Boston music scene veteran Kier Byrnes and the recipient of Americana Act of the Year at the 2024New England Music Awards, unleashes the stunning new EP , Before The Fall , today, (Friday, April 4.) The spirited and feisty six-track EP, which blends a spectrum of subgenres that bridge alt-folk, gypsy punk, Celtic, old-school country, and whatever else, gets the proper release party treatment a week later at The Plough & Stars in Cambridge come April 11.

“My hope is to create a unique blend of music from genres I closely identify with; country, rock, Celtic and Bavarian folk music and turn it into something new that defies any genre,” saysByrnes. “You know the joke about what happens if you play a country song backwards – you get your car back, you get your woman back, and you get your dog back. My aim is to take a country song and turn it completely inside out.”
The Before The Fall EP, fueled by potent lead single and opening track “White Russian,” continues a dynamic 2025 for the band, with no immediate signs of a slow down. In the Kettle Burners, co-vocalist and acoustic guitaristByrnes is rounded out by lead guitarist and co-vocalistDan DiBacco; accordion playerJason McGorty; washboard playerMonica Sager; bassistJoe Miller; and drummerBrian Lilienthal. And the band just banged out seven live shows over a five-day stretch leading up to St. Patrick’s Day, celebrating their also-new In The Key of Guinness EP of Irish music with high-profile gigs at Harpoon Brewery, The Burren, and a massive 10-hour all-day holiday set at The Stockyard in Brighton.
Every song on , “Before The Fall” , felt more like a monumental musical event rather just an average song , we were literally hanging on every word and melody.
Remarkably, for a band with the Kettle Burners’ hustle and all-overdrive ambition, the tracks that make up Before The Fall were all written and recorded last summer, just ahead of the band’s appearance at Outlaw Music Fest in New Hampshire alongside Willie Nelson & Family,John Mellencamp, Charley Crockett, and others. A few weeks before the gig arrived, Byrnes suffered a tumble down a set of stairs, leaving him with severe injury to his legs and requiring surgery. Finishing the songs was placed on the back-burner, allowing Byrnes time to heal and giving the record its title, as the songs were all written Before The Fall.
With its title already ominous, the lyrical material reveals a slightly darker undercurrent than what the upbeat and zestful music would imply.
“Some of my favorite country and folk songs are the ones where the music seems really nice and happy-go-lucky, but if you listen to the lyrics, it’s really gory and/or tragic,” admits Byrnes. “It’s fun to sing about darker stuff in an upbeat, energetic way.”
We blissfully sang and danced our way through “Before The Fall” from Kier Byrnes & The Kettle Burners and truth be told we enjoyed every single minute of it. . “When The Money’s All Gone” , “Train’s Off The Rails and “Hurting or Helping “ are absolute gems that we are absolutely over the moon about . Flawless sing along vocals woven between memorable melodies make “Before The Fall” a collection of music to cherish forever. Our favorite track on “Before The Fall” , is without a doubt “Quarter-Life Crisis “ Everything about this song is “stop you in your tracks “ good.
Do yourself a solid and check out “Before The Fall” you certainly will not regret it.
We recently had the excellent opportunity to check out the new single “Black&Grey” from Canadian punk rock band, CURBSIDE. You can listen to the amazing new single, “Black&Grey” Here
As soon as we heard the thunderous and opening on “Black&Grey” from, CURBSIDE, we were absolutely hooked. This is melodic punk at its finest.
Hailing from the snowy north of Canara, its members—veterans of bands like Handheld and Frank Dux—are united by one mission: crafting great punk rock songs. From sneaking into gigs as kids to performing on festival stages alongside their heroes, punk has always been in their DNA. With soaring melodies, driving guitar riffs, and unstoppable energy, CURBSIDE doesn’t just play fast punk—they live it. And for them, outgrowing it isn’t an option.
After 13 years, CURBSIDE comes roaring back with “Black & Grey,” a lightning-fast punk anthem packed with soaring melodies and raw emotion. Fueled by blistering guitars, relentless drums, and powerful vocals, the track explodes with urgency, capturing the chaos of heartbreak and regret. With a chorus that sticks and a pace that never lets up, “Black & Grey” is a high-energy return that proves CURBSIDE hasn’t lost a step—they’ve only gotten faster.
What we love about CURBSIDE, is that this band is the absolute real deal . No smoke and mirrors or silly gimmicks . CURBSIDE, is Melodic punk personified and we freaking love it . We can’t get enough of “Black&Grey. We can’t wait for more !
We recently had the amazing opportunity to check out the new single and video for “Anything” from Montreal’s , The Last Mile.
You can listen to “Anything” Here you can also watch the video for “Anything “ below
Sometimes all it takes is one listen to a song, and you are instantly hooked . This was definitely the case when we heard “Anything” from The Last Mile.
With the release of their second full length, ‘Holding On To Hope,’collectively released on Thousand islands Records and Pavones Records, The Last Mile are moving forward and intensifying their sound. The aesthetic of the record was designed and laid out by Stealworks a.k.a. John Yates, known for his genre defining work with bands such as Lifetime, Jawbreaker, Alkaline Trio, Bad Religion, Alternative Tentacles, and so much more.
Recorded in Vancouver by long-time collaborator, Jesse Gander (Brutus, Japandroids, DBS, Daggermouth) and mastered by Jason Livermore at The Blasting Room, these songs are a natural progression of the bands signature heartfelt songs, leaning in a more modern hardcore vein while still retaining their punk rock roots.
The first single, “Anything,” is a rallying call to help inspire those who are feeling lost or forgotten. There was a time when people believed that they could be anything they wanted, but that feeling is waning and people are feeling helpless. It’s time to believe in ourselves again. One thing that stands out to us listening to “Anything” from The Last Mile, is the next level musicianship from the band. We got literal goosebumps when we listened to the guitar work on “Anything “ it is simply breathtaking.
Do yourself a favor and find your favorite music listening spot and get lost in the absolute beauty of “Anything” from The Last Mile.

We are so excited to finally check out the sophomore record “Gaman”, via Lauren Records, from San Jose, Indie punk quintet Star 99, and it is pure indie punk perfection. You can listen to “Gaman” Here
On “Gaman”, Star 99 are firing on all cylinders and you can feel it on the first note on “Kill” all the way through to the last song on the record, the fabulously crafted title track, “Gaman”
On Gaman, Star 99 pulls at heartstrings through 10 bright, nostalgic tracks, seamlessly blending high-energy indie rock with more delicate moments. The album reflects on themes of relationships, resilience, and personal growth while expanding the band’s sonic palette.
We especially enjoyed, “Gray Wall” it’s a song that stood out to us right away and did not disappoint. It’s a stripped down and bittersweet duet between members SaoirseAlesandro and Thomas Calvo over an electronic drum sample. “Gray Wall was written to a beat in one session,” says guitarist and vocalist Calvo. “It’s about the feeling of watching old friends leave for bigger things, and living in a small community where everyone knows everything about everybody.”

Some of our favorites from the album are , “Simulator” , we adored the vocals and melody , “Pushing Daisy “ and “E-mails were also two tracks that we gave a lot of love to. The one track that is our absolute favorite, is the title track , “Gaman”, we believe it is the closest thing you can get to a perfect song.
Star 99 takes a significant step forward with Gaman, refining their sound with the help of multi-instrumentalist Aidan Delaney, whose addition brings new depth and dimension to their music. The album was recorded and engineered by Grace Coleman at Different Fur Studios in San Francisco and mastered by Andrew Oswald at Paradise Records, capturing a dynamic blend of raw emotion and sonic expansion.
