We started The Whole Kameese back in 2020 as a way to keep busy during the pandemic. We are so lucky to have worked with so many wonderful artists, promoters and other music professionals. We were also so blessed to be able to share so much amazing music . We have made the difficult decision to put the blog on the back burner. At this time we need to focus on other important matters. We do not know how long we will be away but, we will return. We thank all of you for your support
We recently had the opportunity to check out the new single “Helium Balloons “ from Nashville based rising indie-pop singer-songwriter Zach Seabaugh .
You can listen to “Helium Balloons on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here
Seabaugh lightheartedly calls his music ‘moody music’ – a cross between singer/songwriter and pop from the relatable perspective of a 24-year-old navigating the complexities of young adulthood.
We love the tone and vibe of “Helium Balloons” from Zach Seabaugh. Zach is a gifted storyteller who writes songs that are both relatable and authentic and, his latest “Helium Balloons “ is no exception.
“Helium Balloons” has a melody that you just can’t escape. Like a runaway balloon heading skyward, Zach Seabaugh continues to soar to new heights with every new song he crafts .
Find a great spot and float away while listening to “Helium Balloons , from Zach Seabaugh
We recently checked out the debut album “All We Are” from Britsh Alt-Rock band Wesson. Wesson is based in Milton Keynes (UK)
You can listen to “All We Are “ on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here
We were first introduced to Wesson , this past January, when they released the single “Made Me Happy “ We fell instantly for the perfectly written song . We were over the moon happy when we got the chance to listen to their debut “All We Are”
Wesson is led by singer-songwriter Chris Wesson.
The four-piece band was formed under the mutual decision to find like-minded souls who needed music as part of their everyday life and essence to their being. Along with bassistCallum, guitaristJimmy, and drummerDale, WESSON creates music which is relatable, conversational and meaningful.
Now unveiling their debut album, All We Are, WESSON are proud to showcase a sound that perfectly encapsulates what they stand for, sharing “Releasing this album feels like the end of an era, we are eager to show the world All We Are.” Lyrically the album is a collection of intimate insights into Chris’ mind and thoughts, including the frustrations and difficulties with connecting to people and those relationships. Based generally on real life scenarios and how they can affect one’s mental health, All We Are is both raw and vulnerable. The band confide, “Having expectations and being let down in those situations can create resentments. The album was a cathartic experience for Chris and is ultimately about coming to terms, letting go and finding peace.”
Title-track “All We Are” was largely inspired by Chris watching his children growing up and being proud of who they were becoming. It speaks about the frustration you have when it feels like time is slipping through your fingers and coming to terms with not being able to do it all. Sonically, the track emits a melodic and dreamy feeling accompanied by powerful 80’s rock elements.
We are all in on Wesson, “All We Are” should be required listening for every music fan – Bravo
Every time the opportunity arises for the band to take their theatrical antics and on-stage chaos to the next level, they do not pass it up, and this track is no exception. The band seamlessly melds their early metalcore and nu-metal influences with the melodic mastery of current active rock to create a new iteration of Kissing Candice. Heidi Shepherd’s unrelentingly heavy feature acts as the cherry on top. The release coincides with the unveiling of their new masks and 2023 appearance at Louder Than Life Festival.
“All things must grow, or risk dying. It is with this in mind that Kissing Candice moves on to their next evolutionary phase with ‘skeletons’ signifying the strong foundation we will build upon.” – KissingCandice
Kissing Candice, the masked metal powerhouse from New York. Blending brutal aggression with haunting melodies, they’ve emerged as one of modern metal’s most captivating acts.
“Skeletons” is Kissing Candice at their absolute best . The sound and vibe of “Skeletons” is freaking brilliant.
We recently had the phenomenal opportunity to check out Nashville based singer songwriter Kenzie Cait and her amazing new EP “innocence”
You can listen to “innocence” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here
We listen to a lot of music here at The Whole Kameese (we’re a music blog it’s what we do) but, every now and then we get stopped dead in our tracks from an artist who absolutely blows us away . Kenzie Cait is absolutely one of those artists.
Kenzie Cait makes the kind of music that prompts the listener to think, “How did she put what I’m feeling into words?” As a guitarist and writer who was told she began humming melodies before she could speak, music is truly embedded into Kenzie Cait’s DNA. With more and more people clamoring for music in the vein of Lizzy McAlpine, Olivia Rodrigo, and the blueprint of Taylor Swift, Kenzie has arrived just in time.
However,we think that while Kenzie Cait may have a similar sound like the artist above, We think she has a unique style and sound that is all her own .
She’s an artist who wants to reach people with her music however she can, whether it be through live shows or social media, and is making waves with recordings like the dreamy, urgent, and deeply honest “that girl” in the meantime
We fell head over heels for the EP, right from the first track which is brilliantly written title track “innocence” Kenzie writes songs that you can’t help but connect with. On “that girl” we get a real feel for how stunning Kenzie’s voice really is
“innocence” is an Ep that is solid top to bottom. However, our favorite track on the EP is “the worst part “ this is Kenzie Cait at her absolute best .
Above all, Kenzie Cait wants people to feel heard: “When people listen to my music, I want them to know that dramatic emotions are okay, and that they should have grace with themselves. I hope they know it’s ok to react to moments in life in a natural way.” Kenzie Cait makes music to be shared, whether in the form of a live concert or a friend DMing a streaming link. Her music has a communal sense of understanding to it, paramount to Kenzie’s vision for her artistry going forward. She’s a fan’s fan through and through; she herself has spent her life loving those who inspire her. Now, she’s ready to step into the spotlight herself.
Do yourself and check out Kenzie Cait and her new EP “innocence “ it will make your heart and ears very happy.
We recently had the opportunity to check out the new single “Everything The Darkness Eats” from New York rock trio The Dionysus Effect.
You can listen to “Everything The Darkness Eats” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here.
“Everything The Darkness Eats” is a song that immediately captured our attention.
The mood rich haunting new track is an ode to the award-winning novel of the same name by horror / dark fiction author and band friend Eric LaRocca. The single features chilling electric and haunting acoustic riffs that play tug of war against each other. Vocalist Christoph delivers adarkly feverish performance as he ruminates on the nature of our unspoken fears.
Members, Christoph Paul (lead vocals/ bass), Sean Quinn Hanley (guitar/backupvocals), and Brett Petersen (drums) are firing on all cylinders, as they execute a perfectly melodically and sonically pleasing gem- “Everything The Darkness Eats”
Christoph confides, “As a band, we are all huge fans of horror and really see horror and rock music as artistic siblings. With Eric’s novel, it took me back to being a kid reading and watching Clive Barker for the first time. Barker created such hellish memorable worlds with THE DAMNATION GAME and HELLRAISER and felt Eric did something the same with Henley’s Edge in EVERYTHING THE DARKNESS EATS. Eric’s book tapped something deep in me with my own trauma and battles with depression and I wanted to express that—luckily I’m a songwriter.”
Become one with the darkness and enjoy “Everything The Darkness Eats” from The Dionysus Effect

Vocalist Goddam Glenn reminds us of the greet orators of the past as he delivers a powerful and commanding vocal performance on “A Tsar Is Torn” We felt ourselves being drawn in by the intoxicating melodies , that add a whole new dimension to the track.
The blazing new single is about the type of leaders who rise to power in our present day, and how we prop them up despite our best interests. We almost had to seek medical attention, as we were pressing repeat so often.
We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the EP “When NeonMeets The Rain “ on Friday, September29th . “A Tsar Is Torn”, set for September 15, and the release-day revealing of the EP’s closing track, “A Gun On A Wall In A Scene.” Those two songs follow a pair of summer singles in July’s propulsive and attention-grabbing debut “Arrive!” and August’s expansive and shoegazing “I Can Tell By The Cars.” Both songs immediately placed Looking Glass War on the map, earning global blog praise and radio airplay across the indie circuit, from repeated showings as the #1 Song of the Week on local institution BostonEmissions to earning the endorsement of SiriusXM’sUnderground Garage.

We were probably 40 seconds into the title track “Vis Viva” from Boston based band Kooked Out when, we declared that if there was an official band for absolute happiness it should be Kooked Out.
Today (August 18th) Kooked Out , proves how freaking cool they are by releasing “Vis Viva” on cassette. “ They are no doubt “A Classic “
Cassettes: Info Tech Media
Cassette release party will take place tonight (July 19th ) in Lowell,Ma at The Worthen Attic with Wildcat Slim and Roser
You can check out “Vis Viva” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here
Kooked Out who hail from the Massachusetts town of Stoneham formed in 2013 by guitarist/singer John Fiore, having gone through various lineup changes the band found it’s groove when drummerChris Laskey in 2014.
“Vis Viva” does a phenomenal job of capturing the eclectic vibe and amazing sound that Kooked Out has perfectly crafted . Listening to “Vis Viva” you can’t help but be mesmerized by Kooked Out , we pressed play and 44 minutes and 58 seconds later we felt like we went on a tropical vacation and , we think our blood pressure lowered by a good 20 points.

There are so many gems on “Vis Viva” , “The Weekend “ is such and electric and catchy song . ( We were belting it out down the highway in no time ) So many different styles and vibes are on “Vis Viva” there is literally something for everyone.
One track that really caught our ear is “Turning Stones “ perfect vocals with a killer melody- we were hooked (oh the guitar work was straight fire)
The band really showed that they are world class musicians with their cover of “Apache” made famous by the Shadows in 1960 and written by Jerry Lordan.
We always like to pick a favorite when we review an album . It was so difficult on this one but…. We absolutely loved “Who You Gonna Tell” We loved everything about this track , the vocals the retro groove it’s absolutely brilliant.
We, being from a certain era are so psyched that the band is put the recording on tape
We’re psyched to put this album out on cassette,” admits Fiore. “Even in a digital age it just wouldn’t feel right to us without a tangible copy of the record that you can grab a hold of and put into your collection. Growing up we always preferred and loved the ritualistic element of going home grabbing a record, a CD or a cassette tape and putting it on and really actively listening to it. You know, you’re looking at the artwork, the track listing and lyrics, all of which becomes equally as important to you and your experience with that album. You can see it from across the room and know exactly what it is and that’s what we wanted to do with Vis Viva.”
Whether Kooked Out is performing as a duo or a 3-5 piece band , they are definitely a band you need to catch live . And…. If you go see them live you might see their “Kooky Bus” a band branded vehicle that has an epic 60’s vibe
Bus Art – Mackserva (Mackenzie Conserva

You can listen to “ROY G BIV “ on Spotify Here and on Apple Here You can check out the video for the single “Blue” below
Written, performed and produced at 17 by a prodigious young talent from Colorado culminating in a final session on her 18th birthday, ROY G BIV simply states that each moment and relationship is defined by the different colors of our emotions. Composing the music and lyrics, singing, playing keyboard and guitar, and co-producing each track, Riley is joined by musicians Doctor Noize, Art Bouton, David Amaya, and full strings.
There are so many colorful musical gems on “Roy G BIV” from Riley Max , including the first single and video “Blue” I came up with Blue first — after that I came up with Yellow,”Riley says of the latter guitar and voice folk art song that’s the album’s single-take showcase of her skills as a live singer and instrumentalist.
Other highlights include Green, written alone in her room while longing to be at her uncle’s camp in the mountains that Riley regularly visited throughout childhood to get away from the busy modern world: “Green is the anchor of the album because all the other songs are about interactions with other people, and Green is more about connecting with yourself.”
Riley Max is the true definition of an artist as her talent is not limited to just music , but other art mediums as well , Riley is an award-winning artist whose social commentary visual art has already been displayed at the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art — created her own striking album cover on the aforementioned themes.
When asked about the album Riley commented: “The idea of doing the whole spectrum of colors was to show a very wide range of experiences and relationships. I hope that everybody can relate to at least something in there and take something away.”
Riley Max,is an artist that you must check out “ROY G BIV” is a work of art .

We were absolutely honored to check out Austin based shoegaze dark rock artist Lauren Lakis and her incredible new single “Take My Hand”
You can listen to “Take My Hand” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here
The single is about “forgetting what you thought you knew, letting go, bravely opening your mind to something radically different,” proclaims the songwriter, She further asks, “what if you were wrong? Are you able to admit it? Can you shift with the ever-changing landscape of reality, or are you stuck in your ways? I found myself stepping into the unknown in many ways the past few years, forced to entertain the notion that maybe I didn’t know everything, and in that I found freedom.”
Lauren Lakis has a uniqueness and originality to her sound that is just stunning. She is an artist who eloquently expresses herself not only through her lyrics but also through her carefully crafted melodies that have such beautiful tones that add another dimension to her music.
“Take My Hand “ unfolds with such a mystical vibe . We truly lost in the beauty of this song .

Recently we checked out Los Angeles based indie pop singer /Songwriter Skofee and her brand new EP “Joyland”Named after an amusement park Skofee used to visit in Kansas, the six-track EP chronicles finding joy in various ways after falling out of touch with it.
You can listen to “Joyland “ on Spotify Here and on Apple MusicHere
We are not going pull any punches with this review. “Joyland” is an absolute musical triumph, from start to finish Skofee is simply amazing.
From the first track” “I’m Sorry I Killed Your Plant” the listener is treated to a brilliant song that is a total gem . We found ourselves completely mesmerized with this song .
“Mad At you “ was filled with a hypnotic beat that complimented the stunning vocals on this track. We found ourselves hitting repeat on this song multiple times …. A beautiful melodic composition.
“Quicksand” the song is “my ode to hitting a breaking point. It’s about the sinking realization that you have to let go of someone that you’ve been desperately trying to hold onto,” confides Skofee.
As we remarked in our original review…We love everything about this song . It has this dark but really interesting tone / vibe to it that really makes the track stand out . Oh and the vocals are just flawless.
The video for “Quicksand” is simply spectacular . The visuals, directed by Holy Smoke Photography, combines balloon people, a plexiglass box and Skofee floundering in a kiddie pool with a GoPro for a novel and imaginative take on dealing with tangled emotions. And what’s a video without balloon people?
You can check out the video below
“Wind Up Hero” was our introduction to Skofee, and boy were we impressed. We Love the vibe on this song , it has this energy to it that makes it such a memorable track ( Not to mention we break out into dance mode, when we hear it) .
You can check the vintage lo-fi 70’s feel video below .
In our opinion the shining star of the “Joyland” is the song “Easier” This song is absolutely gorgeous. “Easier” is Skofee at her absolute best , the vocals are just stunning perfect . You can really see what an amazing artist truly is, with this song.
The title track of the EP “Joyland” is another spectacular display of the amazing artistry of Skofee . We also love the beautiful musical orchestration on “ Joyland “ it was simply breathtaking.
“Joyland” is an excellent example of music done right. Skofee is a phenomenal artist who we can’t get enough of.
Housewife – the project of Toronto-based singer and songwriter Brighid Fry (She/They )
The new song reunites Fry with frequent co-writer and producer Gabe Simon (Lana Del Rey, Noah Kahan) in Nashville, TN and includes a co-write from fellow singer-songwriter Savana Santos.
We are absolutely over the moon with “Fuck Around Phase”is a perfectly written pop gem that is overflowing with originality. Beyond the stellar sonic melodic sound of “Fuck Around Phase” , the song stands out because it has this authenticity that you can’t fake . Brighid Fry aka Housewife is the real deal .
“Fuck Around Phase” is the first taste of new music from Housewife this year and introduces a more mature and intentional indie-rock driven sound. Guided by a lush mix of distorted guitar riffs and pop-flavored melodies, “Fuck Around Phase” is a stealthily infectious song. “This song is about learning to enjoy yourself and be present after going through a difficult time,” says Fry. “I want to embrace being messy and not take things too seriously!“
20-year-old Brighid Fry (she/they), aka Housewife, creates effervescent indie rock interwoven with timeless and perspective songwriting. Already touting several independent Canadian music awards for their previous releases, their most recent EP, ‘You’llBe Forgiven,’ received praise from outlets such as FLOOD Magazine, FLAUNT, BrooklynVegan, and more.
Housewife’s music regularly touches on the experience of being a young, queer, AFAB person existing in a male-dominated industry. In addition to exploring these themes in their music, Fry is also an advocate for 2SLGBTQ+ rights, reproductive freedom, and environmentalism, proudly fighting for immediate government response to protect ecological catastrophes as a founding member of the Canadian chapter of Music Declares Emergency.

We felt beyond privileged to check out the highly anticipated album “..And Out Of The Void Came Love”from English/New Zealand indie rock band The Veils fronted by singer/Songwriter Finn Andrews . The 15-track double album out via Ba Da Bing Records was seven years in the making following their acclaimed album Total Depravity.
You can listen to “…And Out Of The Void Came Love..” on Spotify Here and on Apple MusicHere
Just by listening to this record, you can hear throughout the whole record how much of a labor of love this record is . We have never met Finn Andrews or the other fine musicians on this amazing album but, if we did we would extend out our hand and congratulate them on an absolutely magnificent record.
…And Out Of The Void Came Love….is an album intended to be listened to in two sittings with a short break in the middle. This record does a brilliant job of a presenting a diverse offering of rock music. Featuring expansive lush indie rock, to Americana dipped roucous tunes, and introspective slow-burned folk tunes, …And Out Of The Void Came Love is a spellbinding musical journey.
So we went and found a comfy spot , put on our headphones and began listening…. The first track “Time” is just the Perfect opening song it has such a timeless feel to it . We highly recommend checking out the amazing video that accompanies the song .
We were very taken with “Bullfighter (Hand Of God )” It has a very hymnal feeling . The percussion on the track stayed with us long after the track ended .
We found it very easy to connect with the songs on …And Out Of The Void Came Love…All of the songs have a way of touching the heart and soul.
One Song that really caught our attention on the record was “The Epoch “ The song has this haunting yet eclectic feel and sound to it, that you just can’t ignore . The vocals also have energy to them that are electric.
“Ring Of Saturn “ is such a beautifully constructed song but the star of this stunningly brilliant song , is the flawless vocals. We listened to this one for a while .
The orchestration of the album as a whole was simply breathtaking Composer Victoria Kelly’s soaring string arrangements play an integral role in bringing the songs to life, as do musicians Cass Basil (bass), Dan Raishbrook(lap steel, guitar), Liam Gerrard (piano), Joseph McCallum (drums) the NZTrio and special guests the Smoke Fairies on backing vocals.
As we moved on to the second half of this incredible musical achievement, we found ourselves like explorers ready to uncover musical treasures. We found a feeling of deep emotions with “Made From Love With Far To Go” That feeling of deep emotion continued with absolutely gorgeous melody “Someday My Love Will Come “
We loved the haunting appeal of “The Day I Meet My Murderer” We picture this song AA the perfect song around a campfire.
Some may say that making a meaningful record is a lost art . We would point to And Out Of The Void Came Love” from The Veils and that this record is more than a work of art .. but a masterpiece.
We are so excited that alt pop duo joan today announce details of their long awaited debut album superglue, out April 19th via Photo Finish Records. The twelve-track full length is over three years in the making, following their beloved EPs portra, cloudy, hi and bye, and is an existential journey influenced by the duo’s recent transition into fatherhood.
joan explain: “It’s totally wrecked our world and we both have been going through a lot of the same growth that comes alongside being a parent. It’s changed our whole process of writing, and way more than just like having a kid and making every song about them. It’s made us think more about who we are as people, what we want to put into the world and what we want to get out of it, just reflecting on life way more than I think we ever have. This album as a whole is about the past and the present happening at the same time, it’s about dreams for the future and hoping for a better tomorrow but missing yesterday. It’s by far the best and most meaningful music we’ve ever made, it has something for everyone, and we hope it means something to you too.”
To accompany the news they’ve also shared the record’s second single and video ‘flowers’, the last song joan wrote for the album which became one of their personal favorites. The highly emotive and nostalgic narrative discusses how time is fleeting and how people grow and change, paired with wistful acoustic guitar riffs under cinematic synths and heartfelt melodies. The accompanying video shows captures joan’s riveting performance against bright hues of yellow.
You can check out the video for “Flowers” below
The band share “I remember running around the streets of my best friend’s neighborhood after midnight, skipping around from friend to friends house. I remember rushing to my friend’s house after school to rehearse our new songs in his garage. I remember driving around town after the sun went down just because we could. you make so many memories in those formative years. You never think to yourself, “this won’t last forever”. but then you grow. It happens slow – years go by, seasons change. That’s just life. If you’re lucky, some of those people stick around. but for a lot of us, you’re left asking, “why don’t we talk anymore?”. That’s what this song is to us.”
You can check out the video for “Flowers” below
We can’t not wait till April when Superglue is released.

We were very pleased to check out the second single “Ghost” from Memphis based alt-folk artist Aaron James . Ghost is off the singer-songwriter’s forthcoming album,Nobody Really Makes Love Anymore – Out November 4th onMemphis based indie label Unapologetic – Is a delicate well crafted artistic statement that feels like one meaningful conversation about love .
Nobody Really Makes Love Anymore is not about any particular relationship. It was written during a time where it felt virtually impossible to choose love, and it felt irresponsible to even search for it,” the Memphis-based indie folk artist says. “I feel that dedicating an album to this emotion is almost my retaliation to that guilty feeling of searching for love in what often feels like a loveless world. I hope these songs can inspire and encourage people to choose having human experiences and not give up on love for the comfort of simulation.”
On “Ghost”Aaron James tells the ever modern tale of being “ghosted” by a long distance love interest. I was really in a relationship with my phone for a whole year,” Aaron says with a good-natured laugh. “There is no more emotionally unforgiving lover than our cellular devices. When I wrote this, I really started to become aware of the facade that comes with relationships, beyond just intimate ones, that are totally maintained over social media.”
We were really drawn in by the simplicity and no thrills approach to “Ghost”. Aaron James is a gifted and relatable storyteller who’s heart and soul rises front and center in all of his wonderfully crafted song .
