We started The Whole Kameese back in 2020 as a way to keep busy during the pandemic. We are so lucky to have worked with so many wonderful artists, promoters and other music professionals. We were also so blessed to be able to share so much amazing music . We have made the difficult decision to put the blog on the back burner. At this time we need to focus on other important matters. We do not know how long we will be away but, we will return. We thank all of you for your support
We recently strapped in and listen to the new self titled album via Asian Man Records from Bay Area based garage -punk group The AtomAge (It is freaking incredible) You can listen to self titled DIY work of art on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here
The Atom Age was recorded live in one day. “This was our easiest album to write and record to date,”saidvocalist/guitarist Ryan Perras. “The juices were just oozing for this one.”
After listening to the new record from The Atom Age and the above quote from vocalist/guitarist Ryan Perras makes us convinced that if you consider yourself a fan of punk , garage rock heck, if you like any kind of music the new self titled album from The Atom Age should be required listening (yes it’s that good)
The band’s raucous fusion of these scene mainstays has produced blistering rock anthems that stack their latest album front to back. The Atom Age will take listeners on a rollercoaster through a sonic landscape where nonconformity, anti-capitalism, and unfiltered artistic expression reign supreme.
There is not a bad song on the album, it is phenomenal from start to finish . In our opinion it’s the best way to spend 22 minutes and 50 seconds of your day . “New Season “and “High Class Motherfuckers “ as those two tracks show The Atom Age in their full glory.
You can check out the videos for “New Season” Here and “High Class Motherfuckers Here

Another track that really stands out to us is “I Was A Rock ‘N’ Roll Narcissist” We love the pace and energy on this track. It has this real interesting groove to it that we find very cool.
Don’t Delay go check out the spectacular new record from The Atomic Age .,.. You will be glad you did .
The Atom Age is now available on digital streaming platforms and vinyl via Asian Man Records. The band will also kick off their US West Coast tour in November
We recently had the amazing opportunity to finally check out the very anticipated new album “Penelope” from Bay Area indie rock group Small Crush via Asian Man Records
You can listen to “Penelope” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here
First we much apologize for not getting our review out sooner but, we became so enthralled with the record we simply lost track of time .

We knew in our hearts the new record was going to be amazing because, we were absolutely over the moon leading up to the release of“Penelope “We had the singles, “5”,”Ecosystem “ and “Rumblin Tummy” on such a constant rotation, we almost wore out our repeat button.
The songs on “Penelope” feel like a like a journey where you experience the wonders and joys of life , while reexamining your past all at once .
The genius of SmallCrush is they skillfully craft songs that stay with you long after the music has ended .
As the album rolls on, listeners will encounter meandering tracks like “Falling,” and “Running,” embarking on a journey from bittersweet nostalgia or heartache to the saccharine, summery vibes and indie-punk fluorescence of “Be Back Soon” and “This Time Around.”Penelope is equal parts innocence and keenly perceptive philosophical musings. “Penelope, a name I called everything I could when I was little,” explains frontwoman Logan Hammon, “is filled with mixed emotions of growing out of childhood and figuring out who you are along the way. I hope it brings reflection and comfort to anyone who listens to know they aren’t alone in their feelings.”
Small Crush (lead singer, songwriter, and guitaristLogan Hammon, lead guitaristJackson Felton, drummerAllen Moreno, and bassistJoey Chavez. ) work beautifully together to create stunning melodies coupled with flawless vocals .
Small Crush will also soon be embarking on tour supporting Jeff Rosenstock in November and December. details below.

We are getting so close to the release of the new album “Penelope” from Oakland CA based indie rock band Small Crush. The album will be released on September 14th . Until then, the band is releasing its latest single “Rumblin’ Tummy “
You can listen to “Rumblin’ Tummy” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here
Let us start off by saying that “Rumblin’ Tummy” is one those songs that is impossible not to like. Once those drums started at the beginning we were instantly hooked.
Frontwoman Logan Hammon describes “Rumblin’ Tummy” as a song about “staying in love and getting butterflies in your stomach no matter how long it’s been.” Appropriately, “Rumblin’ Tummy” is a fresh re-imagining of a fan-favorite from 2019, “Tummy Rumblin.” Just as the song’s romance has lasted the years, Small Crush built off the old track while injecting a fresh perspective, creating an entirely new and delightful sonic experience. The song’s upbeat and infectious vibe effortlessly sweeps listeners off their feet, while the heartfelt lyrics resonate with relatable themes of longing and uncertainty.
“Rumblin’ Tummy’s” poignant verses lovingly invite listeners into an at once guarded and emotionally unfettered moment of vulnerability: “My tummy is rumblin’ / I keep stumblin’ over you / I keep on mumblin’ / I wish I knew what to do.”Logan Hammon’s voice is lilting and dreamy with backing from the lead guitaristJackson Felton, drummerAllen Moreno, and bassistJoey Chavez. Small Crush’s harmonious synergy cross-stitches a breezy yet introspective work of art in this track.

Small Crush brings such a refreshing energy and vibe with their music, you can definitely feel that energy with “Rumblin’ Tummy “
Before last Friday … We were starting to think our lives here at The Whole Kameese were a tad bit incomplete ( I guess you might say we were a bit lonely) . I mean sure we had the basics- food, water and shelter. But….. Do you want to know what we didn’t have in our lives??…… Well my music loving friends …. We didn’t have the punk rock musical joy that is the band Stay Out . (If we had crazy sound effects and confetti they would go here )
On Friday we powered up the old music playing machine and listened to the newest single “Life’s So Lonely “ from Bay Area punks Stay Out . So not only does the song freaking kick ass but, it features Joe queer from the legendary punk band The Queers . We were hooked on the addictive melodic greatness of “Life’s So Lonely “ The track is a smart and well written punk gem that we simply can’t get enough .
You can check out “Life’s So Lonely “ on SpotifyHere and on Apple Music Here
“Life’s So Lonely “ is just the tip of the iceberg for Stay Out in 2023 as they will be releasing a new album in March titled “Just Pretend “
Stay Out is an absolute blast to listen too. Memorable melodies and lyrics ( We can neither confirm or deny we were singing “Life’s So Lonely “ in the bank drive up line this morning) The chemistry and musicianship between Grant Pack, Mason McGeorge , Carl Pospiech and Nate Reynoso is absolutely electrifying and top notch.
We’re super excited for more music from Stay Out . We will have more about the band in the coming months so stay tuned !
