Over the last few months we have been absolutely in awe of Ana Luna, as she continuously brings her one of kinda sound to new heights with everything she releases.

About the album, Ana shares, “Many of these songs weren’t written with a project in mind. They were simply me processing what I was feeling in real time. I was experiencing big emotions while trying to look inward and understand what was behind the anger or sadness — the triggers, the perceptions I had about what happened in my relationship, and within myself. When it came time to produce the songs, I had one goal: to make them raw but cinematic. I wanted the music to feel like a movie, like your emotions, which are intangible, had suddenly become something you could touch.”

She continues, “I’ve always been told I feel things too deeply, that I’m ‘too much.’ Instead of shrinking that part of myself, I leaned into it. I made these songs deep and intense to show how powerful emotion can be when you let yourself feel it fully. They became my source of healing and understanding. While I hope they resonate with many, they’re especially for the deep feelers — the ones who look inward, who want to understand, and who find themselves in the act of feeling.”

Every song on “Tainted Silhouettes” , from Ana Luna, had us on the edge of our seat . Ana is a gifted singer-songwriter who leads with her whole heart and soul.

We loved every track, however, “Fairy Tales, “Can We Pretend We Just Met At A Bar” and “Same Page”, really caught our attention.

If we had to pick a favorite song, it would absolutely be, “Bleeding Pen” we were moved beyond words with this brilliant masterpiece.

The creative force behind YouTube’s billion-view Clash of Clans cinematic universe and Netflix’s Emmy-nominated Entergalactic (starring Kid Cudi, Timothée Chalamet and more), Fletcher Moules is turning the lens inward with the release of “Maybe”, a melancholic synth-pop postcard from his music project The New Condition. The track and its accompanying music video debut Friday, September 19.

We are absolutely enthralled with the cinematic marvel and synth pop masterpiece that is “Maybe” from The New Condition.

While Moules has built a career directing blockbuster stories—from Super Bowl commercials with Liam Neeson and Christoph Waltz to co-writing Agent Elvis with Priscilla Presley—The New Condition marks a return to something deeply personal.

This is a quiet creative pull that’s been with me for 20 years,” says Moules. “Maybe was written in a very different chapter of my life. I never thought I’d share it—but it lingered, and over time, matured into something more layered, warm, and emotionally resonant.”

Built on nostalgic synths, crisp electric drums, and an unfiltered vocal performance, “Maybe” floats between joy and longing. It’s soft and strange in all the right ways—a sonic exhale for uncertain days.

The result? A full AI-generated video that looks and feels indistinguishable from live action—without sacrificing artistic intent or ethical responsibility.

I think of these AI tools like making an animated film,” Moules says. “To me, it proves AI can empower independent artists to tell high-end, emotionally resonant stories—if used responsibly.”

The video depicts a dreamlike drive through moments in the cycle of life: ants carrying leaves, priests with a coffin, a man sleeping beneath an overpass. The car ultimately drives off a cliff and sinks beneath the water—only for the protagonist to escape and find the embrace of a silhouetted woman. It’s poetic, surreal, and entirely AI-built.

“There aren’t too many artists creating full AI music videos like this yet,” Moules notes. “It’s a new creative frontier, and one I wanted to approach with craft and care.”

Before directing billion-view content and award-winning series, Fletcher Moules was a musician first. His teenage band Vapourware won Triple J Unearthed, played Homebake, and toured with acts like Cut Copy. With The New Condition, he’s reconnecting with that part of himself—redefining what’s possible for independent artists in 2025.

“Impatient For The Dream”, from Your Future Ghost, is a magnificent collection that offers powerful, vibrant and radiant indie-pop sound that leaves your music loving soul full of musical joy

The duo that is , Your Future Ghost, first met on the set, acting in the popular CW hit TV series One Tree Hill. Striking up a fast friendship and mutual creative respect, the two began collaborating musically over zoom during the pandemic. After months of studio sessions in Austin, Texas, intermingled with lively backyard taco breaks, Your Future Ghost was born. We fell almost instantly for the new EP, “Reach” from Paperwhite.

The project features their poignant and cinematic new single “Looking Back,” a track that first began taking shape during the pandemic. Nearly five years later, the duo returned to it with fresh perspective, teaming up with acclaimed composer and virtuoso cellist Philip Sheppard, whose stunning string arrangements bring added emotional depth and a renewed sense of hope.

Nearly a decade after releasing their 2016 debut EP Escape, Paperwhite remain true to the dreamy, synth-driven aesthetic that first captured the internet’s attention, while expanding their sonic palette with organic textures and cinematic flourishes. On Reach, shimmering melodies and atmospheric production underscore themes of self-discovery, perseverance, and quiet wonder—resulting in music that feels at once nostalgic and entirely new.

Crafted in collaboration with her creative partner and significant other, producer and songwriter Cade Hoppe in their Brooklyn home studio, the album is her most fearless and fully realized work to date. Billy Dodge Moody , takes the experience of a sudden tragic loss and is able to channel all of the emotions associated with that loss and craft his new single, a lush and sweeping ballad of cinematic indie folk-pop titled “Meaning to Disaster,” which hits the streams today (Friday, May 2.)

An expansive track that swirls around the heartfelt creative winds of Americana and pop-rock, offering a gorgeous type of grandeur that can only be revealed through a personal reflection, “Meaning to Disaster” is the first new music from Moody since his 2022 album Condition. It sets a dramatic tone for his forthcoming summer EP, Ephemera, the first in a series of EPs that will combine to form his next album, thematically centering around navigating chaos and finding clarity in life.

Taking a theme of tragedy and looking back on both a life cut short and one privileged to carry on, Moody first penned the track back in 2021, more than 20 years after his friend’s passing from an unexpected heart attack. Like an old wound needing time to heal and a desire to create something beautiful out of pain, Moody was deliberate in how – and when – he wanted to bring the touching composition to listeners.

“It’s about the shock and confusion that comes with losing someone so young, and how that moment made me confront the brevity, chaos, and randomness of life,” Moody says. “The song grapples with the idea that life itself is inherently chaotic, and our purpose is to find a way to make sense of why we’re here – giving it some sense of purpose in the very short time we have.”

After a 2021 fire displaced the Brighton studio, Moody and Charles recorded the track over the course of three years, first at Guilford Sound in Guilford, Vermont, with stops along the way at Mad Oak in Allston and The Record Co. in Boston, before completing it at Charles’ freshly-minted Rare Signals in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Charles mixed and mastered the track, on which Moody performs vocals and guitar alongside Jon Chapman on drums, Sam Bouve on bass, and Tyler Simko on keyboards. Additional vocals were provided by Hannah Foxman.

The music showcases Jordan’s most vulnerable moments over the past 15 years. Songs about anger, sadness, longing, shock, wanting, and most of all about her most personal experiences. Produced by Party Nails, Jordan Duffy’s latest album “Nights Like These” breaks tradition by showcasing a multitude of genres in one LP.

From 80s synth, to rock, opera, folk, americana, and indie pop; there is something for everyone to fall in love with on this record.

She shares, “The music is about those late night thoughts – moments that play over and over in your head. About the ‘what ifs’ or ‘what could have been’. Reminiscing on those who have hurt me or let me down, about those I cared for and wish could be more, but sadly never will be. And the album ends (purposefully) on a wishful note for the future.”

Jordan, is influenced by the likes of Adele, Lake Street Dive, Yola, and Charlie XCX, to name a few. Originally from Worcester, Massachusetts, she began her music career writing songs about heart breaks in dive bars, female empowerment, exploding toads, one night stands, and zombie lovers. At 18 years old, her first professional show was opening for The Allman Brothers Band guitarist Dickie Betts. It was in college when she discovered her stunning 4 octave range while studying and performing Opera. She continued her education and landed her role as the first female audio engineer at Earwolf/Stitcher Podcasts. There she has had the opportunity to sing to Weird Al Yankovic, do her own rendition of “Total Eclipse of the Fart” on “The Office Ladies”, and is the vocalist for the “Just Between Us” Podcast theme song. You may even recognize her (and her laugh) as Engineer Jordan from the “Best Friends” podcast.

Because , of Jordan’s amazing vocal versatility, every song on “Nights Like These” is able to have its own unique vibe and sound which is a refreshing change of pace in a sometimes mundane musical landscape.

Some people may try and tell you that positivity is not needed (In our humble opinion, we completely disagree)

Waiting For Smith, is the musical project of Harry Lloyd, a British artist whose journey has been shaped by both extraordinary challenges and transformative experiences. After breaking his back at 24 and spending a year in recovery, Lloyd rediscovered his passion for music, picking up the guitar and writing songs with newfound purpose.

His eclectic life path – from traveling across the world, learning languages, and becoming a ski instructor, to overcoming mental health struggles and healing in South Africa – has deeply influenced his music. Now based in the Netherlands, Waiting for Smith creates music with a mission: to help others live a happier state of existence, feeling less worry and more love and joy, offering a sense of lightness and hope through his soulful, heartfelt sound.

To celebrate the EP, Chelsea Spear’s lo-fi ukulele power-pop project performs live at The Dance Complex in Cambridge with Balter Dance group on March 14, and then Spear performs at SOLOCOM ‘25 on April 11 at The Pit in New York City

No. 1 in Heaven Starring Travels With Brindle, made possible by a successful 2024 Kickstarter project, recorded at the Boston Public Library, and endorsed by WBUR, Boston’s NPR as one of the most anticipated Boston records of Winter 2025, is both faithful and unfaithful to the original.

It features all six beautiful tracks – including lead single “Tryouts For The Human Race,” released last fall, and the title cut, “The Number One Song In Heaven,” which hit the streams on February 7 ahead of the release of the music video, filmed at Bellforge Arts Center, on February 13. (which is absolutely stunning and you can watch below)

“A lot of the covers of Sparks tend to stay close to the original versions of the songs,” Spear notes. “I think they’d appreciate the originality! Beyond that, I think Ron — who favors rap and heavy metal — would be disappointed that it’s not aggressive enough”

Spear says she was drawn to the enduring legacy of these tracks, and allowing some room for reinvention falls well in line with the Sparks ethos. No. 1 In Heaven Starring Travels With Brindle – her second covers record after 2018’s I Love You Like A Cover, where she took on Alex Lahey’s debut album – showcases more than just ukulele; it draws in the creative world around her.

Across these six tracks, Spear performs ukulele, vocals, finger snaps, shaker, and torn-paper snare drum, as heard on the George Formby-inspired “Tryouts For the Human Race,” the September single that was arranged by Sage Harrington of Ukulele Swing School. Circe Red performs a tap dance, engineered by William Hall Esq., on the propulsive “Academy Award Performance”; and Tyler Hauer delivers the trumpet on “La Dolce Vita,” giving it a new sense of buoyancy. Vocals on the record were engineered by Joel Edinberg, it was mastered by Joshua Cohen, and Spear mixed the album and engineered the ukulele.

We found ourselves positively enchanted with the absolutely divine musical work of art that is NO.1 in Heaven Staring Travels With Brindle . Every song is an artistic triumph honoring not only Sparks, but it also honors the brilliant creative vision that Chelsea Spear has artfully brought to life.

Our favorite track on the album, is “Academy Award Performance “ there is an abundance of artistic goodness to love on this track . We loved the tap dance performed by Circe Red , and the vocals were flawlessly spectacular.

Full disclosure: up until today we were unfamiliar with the absolutely stunning artistry that is NOSHOWS . ( We are truly sorry it took us this long to come to the party)

NYC’s Max Satow, professionally known as NOSHOWS, is finding a fascinating niche as a singer-songwriter and frontman by fusing explorations of the inner workings of the mind with a wildly eclectic blend of alt-rock, hip-hop, and funk.

From the moment we heard the opening melody on “Use To It” we were immediately captivated. The vocals and melodic tones are so perfect that they are a work of art worthy to be displayed at the finest museums .

NOSHOWS has gained a loyal fan base from its electrifying shows at NYC’s Gramercy Theatre, Mercury Lounge, Sofar Sounds residency, UK’s Great Escape Festival, and most recently, a run of Northeast tour dates with Brass Against.

The EP, artfully makes you not only move your feet but it also makes think, which goes along with Satow’s lifelong fascination with the chaos and psyche of the human mind, and his advocacy of such issues, has its roots in his family’s founding of The Jed Foundation, a non-profit that protects emotional health and prevents suicide for teens and young adults, giving them the skills and support they need to thrive. It was inspired by and named after the singer’s uncle, who took his own life.

Cortney Dixon is an artist, producer, songwriter and guitarist from the coastal town of South Shields in the North of England, who has a style and vibe that we can’t help but gravitate to.

Cortney has written and produced a slick 6 track EP, titled ‘354’, which deftly blends her down to earth punky DIY roots with a well crafted aspirational pop glamour, the first single ‘You Look Good Naked’ drops today, ( February 12th)

You Look Good Naked’, is an honest and authentic gem, written following an unplanned visit to a strip club on a week night.

Cortney explains further:

‘I wrote this song after spending a Tuesday night in a strip club in Newcastle. Me and my best friend Sarah were out and the only place left open was the strip club, so we went to the strip club for the first time. We had always been curious about what stripping was all about and wished I had the confidence to try it, so this trip felt like research.

I got talking to one of the girls working that night. She was called Daisy and was very beautiful. She looked like a Pixie. She told me all about how much she loved her job and found it very empowering. I got a dance off Daisy. Summing up exactly how it made me feel and quoting the song ‘I can’t decide if I wanna be you, or if it’s that I really want to kiss you’. I love the idea of telling someone how amazing they look Naked. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful and desired in their own skin. ‘OMG YOU LOOK GOOD NAKED’!’

Carefully crafted, the EP out on Friday 26th September(complete with an artfully inspired limited run of vinyl records) cuts with ease through garage rock, fuzzy indie and fizzy pop with a hook filled charm and high energy verve.

“This whole EP was a very DIY process. ‘You Look Good Naked’ was recorded in my studio in Newcastle, engineered by my best friend, Rob, produced by me and mixed by me and Rob in his living room. It was my mission to find the scrappiest guitar sound possible, inspired by my favourite punk records of the 70’s. I wanted to combine this sound with a fun pop sensibility.”

We were absolutely enchanted by “Enjoy Youth”, from acclaimed LGBTQ+ artist Bright Light Bright Light featuring platinum selling Welsh superstar Donna Lewis. We love the vibe and sound and simply can’t get enough.

The English and Welsh language version features the timeless hit maker known for “I Love You Always Forever” adding her stunning ethereal vocals. On the addictive “Monday’s Never” , The Jellybricks, seem to find another gear with an amazing vocal performance woven beautifully between next level melodies .

We loved the 60’s feel bass line on “Follow That Girl” it’s a tremendous groove that we absolutely loved .

On an amazing record, like “Dreaming In Stereo“ , it is impossible to pick a favorite track, but the one that one that really stood out to us was “Crazy Weather”, we loved everything about this song ( the harmonies are so freaking dreamy)

She was the long term partner of my ex-band mate in The Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster, Marc Norris. She was a multidisciplinary artist, including being a great and much published live music photographer, and also a full time tattoo artist. She was passionate about many kinds of alternative music and was also a Bruce Springsteen aficionado. It’s one of the first songs we three wrote together as THE DSM IV.”

Where prior single “Playlist” – declared an undisputed “Song of the Summer” by Boston media – was a broken-hearted breakup song and the digital impressions we leave behind, the pulsating 8-bit sophistication of “Just Pretend” suggests a new level of life and love awaits just around the corner for Astrologic (Astro), Bifflecup (Biff), and Sam Mulligan. It’s a restart of the game of love, just when everyone around them is feeling reborn.

‘Just Pretend’ is about two people starting a possible new relationship, but still having reservations because of past love trauma,” says Astro. “They ultimately decide to ‘Just Pretend’ that stuff doesn’t matter and to live for the moment. The theme and lyrics were inspired by a relationship I was in where we both were scarred by the past, but we wanted to pretend we were normal people, and could have a fresh start.”

As it turns out, January has been less about a fresh start for Battlemode, and more a continuation of last year’s successes. After being nominated for Electronic Artist of the Year at the 2024 Boston Music Awards, the band earned a slot performing live at Boston Calling Music Festival in May, joining the bill alongside Dave Matthews Band, Luke Combs, and Fall Out Boy.

Between now and Memorial Day weekend, the Battlemode live calendar is healthy, as the band plays Sexfest at The Jungle in Somerville over Valentine’s Day weekend, and performs live before a February 21 screening of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World at Arlington’s Capitol Theatre with Linnea’s Garden, DJ Wubson, visual artist V.Kash, and a pop-up arcade from Super Party Bros

In March, they take part in their own Boston Bitdown, a three-day chiptune and digital fusion music festival collaboration with geekbeatradio that takes over five venues in Somerville and Arlington and features more than 40 performances and visual art displays.

As we wait for all the amazing live shows, the “Just Pretend” music video takes the Battlemode talents to YouTube. Directed by McNazz and filmed by Sam Nazartian and Kyle McGandy at The Capitol Theatre and depicting the band as clowns and magicians, the vibrant visual showcases the faces behind the bleeps and the bloops, all while the song itself answers a simple question: What if Charlie Puth wrote a chiptune pop song complete with hip-hop verses? Perhaps he would have, had he stuck around the city after graduating from Berklee and partied a little bit more with the band and their raucous live shows.

The songwas written while watching the movie Sixteen Candles. Jordan Duffy thought, ‘what if these John Hughes movies didn’t have a happy ending, what would a song like that sound like?’. The video’s storyline, showcases an alien spying on Jordan being denied by her high school crush, later that alien pretends to be the high school crush to win Jordan over! Producer Party Nails and Jordan Duffy create a modern ‘80s synth sad pop song that you can’t stop dancing to.

Jordan shares, “This song is written about a friend that I had feelings for, but I knew it would not go any further. I always saw him as my Jake Ryan. He does not and will never know this was written about him. But it has become one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written.”

Her first tour in 2017 (with PVRIS and Lights) ushered in a devoted fanbase, and her live performances continue to be a core facet of her artistry, being equal parts Madonna, Hayley Williams, and Sheryl Crow. In 2020 she wrote Rockin’ on the Rag, a song about period pride, for Loren Bouchard’s Apple animated series Central Park, wrote and produced the Le Tigre-infused Supernatural for feminist rock duo Deap Vally, and continued to lend her vocals to other musicians (LŪN, Urban Heat, Battle Tapes, MitiS, Getter, and others have featured her vocals on their releases). Her music has been in movies and television (Glass, Girls, The L Word: Generation Q, Nancy Drew, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin) featured in various media outlets (Billboard, PAPER, Noisey, Earmilk, Paste and more) and included on Spotify Editorial playlists such as Fresh Finds, Fresh Finds Indie, and Undercurrents. “thought so “ from Count Zero is the band’s first taste of new music in 13 years, and it is absolutely glorious . “thought so “ is beautifully bold and grand, all the things we love about Count Zero. Not only do we get a new album with “thought so “ which is out today (Friday,November 8th ) but…. We are also getting a BumbleBee Radio Presents release party later tonight at Sonia in Cambridge.

Our music loving soul is absolutely blissfully overwhelmed with all the musical goodness packed in “thought so” ,from Count Zero

“Our music has always been dense – occasionally one might argue too dense,” Peter Moore muses from his home studio. “Now we’re learning to trust sparseness and space more, trusting the hooks, the vibes, the grooves.”

The awaited follow-up to 2011’s Never Be Yourself, thought so finds Count Zero as its most assured, no small accomplishment given the confidence the band weaponized to swerve around most of the pitfalls and landmines of the Boston rock scene. And in a weird way, the dystopia of the world around us has finally caught up to the cacotopia weaved delicately within the Count Zero sound for so long.

Every song on “thought so” plays out like a show stopping theater production. We were mesmerized by the opening track “Never Be Alone” The artful use of sound , really made the track stand out. With so many different styles and vibes on “though so” it is next to impossible to be board . One track that really stood out for us is “You Were You Are” A well written track with a mysterious melody coupled with flawless vocals – Bravo

A new component in this fresh batch of Count Zero compositions is that while most lean on the traditional social observations and dystopian awareness, a few – “South,” “You Were You Are,” and inaugural offering “Overthinking” – serve as more introspective and autobiographical than Moore’s past efforts. Moore was always a performer’s performer, and his persona was never far behind.

“There are songwriters that exclusively write autobiographically, but my default has been to fear that sharing The Real Me is burdensome on the listener,” he admits. “I usually get more traction embodying a persona, and finding myself in them. This is more of a Bowie thing. Probably didn’t hurt that when I toured with Blue Man Group we opened up for Bowie every night, and I got to see him from the side of the stage night after night. He channels characters, or personae, but they’re always a part of him.”

Great art hangs proudly in a museum. Great music is heard jolting out of speakers or coming to life on stage . “thought so” from Count Zero is not just a great album but is a true work of art.

Your Small Army” rekindles Soft Skies Inc’s shimmering luminosity, and plays with our notions of chromesthesia as Goss‘ visuals come to kaleidoscopic life. We were immediately taken by the EP “Another Kind Of Vision from Charming Arson . The EP is vibrant musical experience that grabs hold of you right from the first note of “Hey,Policeman all the way till the last note of “Magic Alex Knows “

We felt a lot of Brit Pop vibes with Charming Arson. Every song was a well crafted gem that had very cinematic/music theater vibes .

Like the quartet’s music itself, a psychedelic trip of expansive sounds that transports the listener from one place to another, usually within the same blossoming song, the journey Charming Arson took to get here in assembling this kaleidoscopic six-song EP is just as fascinating as the destination.

And at the core, under all the harmonies and melodies and hooks and riffs, is a sense of joy, a feeling that takes anecdotes of modern life with inspirations of yesterday to craft a cohesive and vibrant record that not only stares back at the listener, but provides a cushion for the inevitable fall deep within the band’s blooming world.

The six tracks were engineered, mixed, and mastered by Alex Garcia-Rivera at his all-analogue Mystic Valley Studios in Medford, Massachusetts.

We recently had the opportunity to check out Massachusetts, singer, musician, actress, and dancer Michelle Forziati, and her amazing new alt-R&B single “Strings” You can listen to “Strings” on Spotify Here and Apple Music Here .

“Strings” from Michelle Forziati, caught our attention right from the start . We love the unique R&B / Alt sound on “Strings” it is a refreshing change of pace that is definitely needed in today’s musical landscape.

Melodically, “Strings” is a mesmerizing melody that Forziati, compliments with a flawless vocal performance.

“Strings” , is the follow-up to April’s “Stranger,” which found the multihyphenate creative – a former ballroom dance instructor who also played the role of Jill Hurley in the 2017 Jake Gyllenhaal-leading biographical drama film Stronger, about Jeff Bauman’s recovery in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing – taking her musical output to new, ambitious heights.

When asked about asked “Strings”, Forziati shared,

“I absolutely love guitars, they just speak to every part of me,” Forziati says. “The sounds they create
are mesmerizing and almost put me in a trance. ‘Strings’ is about loving the sound of a guitar so much
that the person playing it captivates me and I fall in love. However, it’s manipulative because the
performer knows it and he abuses that love.”

The track also features guitar by Michael Strakus and bass by Steve Constantino, two players known in the Boston music scene for their work in Derek Smith and the Cosmic Vultures. “Strings”, was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Monty Dale at Graybeard Recording

Michelle Forziati has a style and sound that is impossible to ignore, her refreshing and soulful approach on “Strings” is pure musical perfection.

Battlemode For The Win… “Playlist May Never Come Off Repeat All Summer.

We recently checked out Boston chiptune pop trio Battlemode, and the intoxicating and wickedly addictive new single “Playlist”

The follow-up to January’s instrumental epic “MEGA,” the smoothed-out sonic electro-pop seduction of “Playlist” finds the Battle-dudes – Astrologic (Astro), Bifflecup (Biff), and Sam Mulligan – reminiscing over a lost love through the music that remains, while a hip-hop drop and sexy saxophone, make this song required to have shades as it is red hot .

Despite being a song about heartbreak and how we cope with break-ups in modern times, it should sound like a synth-pop rapture when Battlemode perform it live all over the region this summer: including at O’Brien’s Pub in Allston in early July , a mini-tour around New England in August; and during Hack The Planet Day, where the trio delivers an audio-visual live performance ahead of a special 35mm screening of Hackers at the Somerville Theatre on September 15, an event organized by Battlemode themselves.

“Lyrically, ‘Playlist’ is a breakup song where one party has moved on, and the other party – the narrator – is still in the headspace of that relationship,” says Biff. “The narrator is using a song playlist the ex curated for him to analyze what went wrong in the relationship.”

A professionally trained musician Maya completed the The Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music (NYU’s Tisch School of Arts) “Music Industry Essentials” certificate and was accepted to the Grammy Museum Songwriting Intensive program, where she honed her skills amongst the industry’s best. When discussing “The Fight” MARIS confides “The Fight” is actually about a cat named Cheese that I desperately wanted to adopt, but ended up not being able to because I didn’t have enough time, money, or space to give her a good life. I went to an amazing studio to work with Sweettalker and Isa Molin for the first time, and all I could think about was this kitten I had to give back to the foster family. We batted around a lot of ideas, and the melodies just flew out of the room”

MARIS hitched a ride on a comet to Los Angeles( originally from Montana) in 2021, and decided to stay and become a pop music sensation. Her mission on this planet is to connect with listeners through her candid experiences as a queer and emotionally vulnerable songwriter with an ‘80s-inflected pop universe and beats you can’t help but dance along to.

“I wrote ‘Expectations’ when I was feeling torn with the relationship I was in at the time,” she says. “I kept feeling so much pressure from both myself and the people around me. Hailing from Long Island, New York, 23-year-old Julia Raye has been performing for as long as she can remember. She grew up taking dance classes, singing, and performing in local musical theater productions. By age 17, she had performed in over twenty musical theatre shows along with performances with the New York All State Choir and ACDA All National Choir. She went on to study vocal performance at the University of Michigan where she was able to learn from George Shirley, a pioneer in the opera world who became the first African-American to perform at the Metropolitan Opera.

We have made no secret here at The Whole Kameese about how we feel a KTJ&CARLY, and after listening to “Falling onto You “ with who they team up with Laprete – Our feelings have not changed. “Falling onto You” has all the brilliant qualities that we have grown to love from KTJ&CARLY. The vocals on “Falling onto You “ are both commanding and mesmerizing. And … the song is even sweeter with Laprete along for the ride.

What began in 2014 as a local punk rock festival in a 1500-capacity club, has grown into a massive stadium-sized 2-day destination event, featuring the punk scene’s biggest and brightest, while keeping its independent DIY roots intact.

Festival founder Rishi Bahl said, “10 years is a long time. All Day Sucker is the brainchild of lifelong friends and musical collaborators since high school producer and keyboardist Jordan Summers (Cat Power, FF5, and The F.O.C.K.R.s.) and singer Morty Coyle (DJMortyCoyle, FF5, and The F.O.C.K.R.s.) The rest of the line-up includes bassist and arranger Dan Rothchild (Tonic, Heart, Shakira) drummer David “Goody” Goodstein (She Wants Revenge, Dolly Parton, Larkin Poe) guitarist Geoff Pearlman (Jakob Dylan, Dead Rock West, Joan Osborne). Also, guitarists Jay Gore and Fernando Perdomo and vocalist Jordan Zevon lend their talents on select songs. The bandmates are all veterans of the Wild Honey Orchestra, which mounts star-studded annual L.A. concerts benefiting autism research. Select bandmates were also part of the documentary film Echo in the Canyon featured in the film, and TV appearances, live performances, and on its accompanying soundtrack.

The album was recorded by four-time Grammy-winning producer, mixer, and audio engineer Dave Way (Foo Fighters, Beck, Pink!) live on the floor at the Way Station in Los Angeles.

There is something very captivating about Australian indie pop band The Moving Stills . They bring a very warm , vibrant and familiar sound that you can’t ignore.

On their sophomore album “Wabi Sabi,”

The Moving Stills showcase a collection of songs that capture the last few years for the band in their personal lives, as well as life as a touring band. Partnering up with Izaac Wilson on production, they hone in on that Indie Pop sound as well as explore new grooves on a few of the album tracks.

The album themes cover a range of things, with everything from heartbreak to upbeat tracks that talk about love and being around your favourite people. In tracks like “Westside”, there’s mention of being on the road, which has made up a big part of the last few years for the band. They share, “We wanted to keep the honesty there on this album, and write about our experiences and so we’ve been very open in expressing our feelings in these songs.”

Speaking of their growth from their debut album, the band explains, “We wanted to introduce new feelings and vibes, to those on our first record Sunshine Corner. Whilst maintaining a lot of the key elements of our previous tunes, we delved into making a spread of new flavours. With songs like “Drive Home”, “In Your City” and the title-track “Wabi Sabi”, we leaned into a more groove based feel. Songs that you can immediately vibe out to. On the other hand, we had songs like “Volcano” and “Best Friend”, which showcases a more upbeat side to our sound. Definitely works well at gigs and on the dancefloor.”

The Lebanese American artist, hailing from Brooklyn, New York, began his career in the church as the youngest lead soloist. New Friends Release Amazing Cover Of Radiohead Classic “High And Dry”

We recently had the chance to check an amazing cover of the Radiohead classic “High And Dry” from the band New Friends.

New Friends — comprised of players from all over Southern Ontario, lead singer Stefan Boulineau (Windsor), guitarist Cole Wilson (St. Thomas), keyboardist/lead writer Ayden Miller (Orillia), Conrad (Waterloo) and Drummer Nico Elias, (Guatemala)

The band has experienced quick success , L.A. management and a top booking agent.

The band went viral with the very first song they ever recorded, “Purple Candy,” in 2019, when they were practically strangers. Now at 8 million streams and counting, they released their new single “Sad Sugar” in July 2023. In 2021, New Friends won Slaight Music’s life-changing “It’s Your Shot” contest. The resulting EP, Camaro, was recorded with the $100,000 studio and promotion prize.

The band had already recorded with producer Brad Delson, Grammy-winning guitarist of Linkin Park, and after the “It’s Your Shot” win, they were able to work with even more outside producers including Finger Eleven drummer and Arnold Lanni protégé Steve Molella (Stuck On Planet Earth, Gus, Kayla Diamond), and TV/film composer Brian Rivlin. They also self-produced a couple of the songs, and although it’s usually just the four of them, New Friends was excited to have the opportunity to co-write for the first time with a handful of writers.
