Brutal Post-Punks Share Lead Single ‘Communion’ 

We recently had the opportunity to check out the new single, “Communion” from Cologne, Germany based “brutal post-punks” TV CULT. The band is also proud to announce that their second album, Industry, will be released later this year on 10th October 2025.

On the forthcoming new album, TV CULT are set to chart darker waters than ever before, exploring themes including the decline of western culture and rejecting the belief systems that are presented to us.

Recorded by Christoph Scheidel at 79 Sound Studios in Cologne, the album was mixed at Holy Mountain Studios, London by Misha Hering (High Vis, Idles) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Off!, Sleep, Stranger Things OST) at Audiosiege, Portland.

The artwork for Industry features a photograph from world famous Köln based photographer Boris Becker’s ‘Konstruktionen’ series (http://www.boris-becker.com) and will be revealed in the coming weeks.

To celebrate the news, the band are sharing lead single ‘Communion’ which is available now released  on all good digital platforms.

Commenting on the track, the band said: “The theme of ‘Communion’ is the idea of rejecting a belief system by calling it out for being vacuous and empty. Only by rejecting the false beliefs presented to us can we start seeking and embracing true meaning in this world.”

We love the vibe and feel of , “Communion”, from TV Cult. The band brilliantly combines the “old school” music vibe and the “new school” music vibe, to deliver an absolute gem.

Looking Glass War ( Mike Ackley , bass, Goddam Glenn,vocals,Tony Porter, drums, Pete Ziegler, guitar) arrived on the scene in July of 2023 , with their otherworldly debut single “Arrive!” . “Arrive!” Proved quickly that Looking Glass War was just getting warmed up. We were gifted a treasure trove of well crafted musical gem with the release of the stellar debut EP “Where Neon Meets The Rain” Add in a stunning appearance in the semi finals of Boston’s legendary Royal Rumble and June’s “See You in Hell, Liberty Bell” All of these achievements are great. But wait…. There’s More !

Looking Glass War, keeps the momentum going with their latest future classic “Rumination House” which, is the second single off the forthcoming EP, “Saints of the Lost and Found”,which is set for release later this fall.

We were quickly lured into “Rumination House , by the intoxicating guitar riff. The jangly guitar riff evoking 80’s British Indie Pop. Once the chords were
established, Zeigler’s guitar riff “definitely had a strong Johnny Marr vibe” says Ackley.
“Channeling this, the bass was definitely more of a departure from our usual driving post-punk style” continues Ackley.

Frontman Goddam Glenn,put on a goddam vocal clinic as he delivered yet another flawless vocal performance.

A memorable melody combined with lyrics that can only be described as pure poetry , “Rumination House” from Looking Glass War is an absolute can’t miss .

Post-punk darkwave underground faves Urban Heat absolutely slay with their latest single “You’ve Got That Edge “ which is from their upcoming album “The Tower” due on August 16th .

Urban Heat artfully fusion of electronic and post-punk styles with an uncanny ability to write undeniably universal drop intoxicating hooks, the Austin-based band gives incredible and rousing performance, too – they’re currently on an extensive US Summer tour, which will be followed by a European tour with Molchat Doma in the fall. 

Lead singer Jonathan Horstmann says of the upcoming single, “This track is for anyone who looks in the mirror and doesn’t feel like the reflection is a good representation of who they really are… We wanted to remind anyone who feels isolated that they are a force of nature. 

This was the first song written for The Tower (their upcoming album out August 16th), and sonically it gave us permission to go to so many places. The verse is very synthpop but we bring in big guitars with a halftime breakdown. It’s a damn anthem. So many of our songs are about anxiety and fear and pain and it seems right to have something that feels so supportive emotionally to get everyone ready for the rest of the record. ‘Cause the rest of it hurts, lol.”

We absolutely love everything about Urban Heat and their latest single “You Got That Edge “ Urban Heat , is a prime example of a band who isn’t afraid to bring a fresh inventive style and sound to a somewhat mundane musical landscape.

Clone Makes Beautiful Noise On Debut “CL.1”

Brooklyn based post-punk outfit Clone brilliantly and artfully test the boundaries of music and sound on their new LP “CL.1”via Portland label Little Cloud Records  and North Carolina’s 5BC Records , and we love every single minute of it.

“CL.1” is a record makes you immediately take notice . Clone is hardly a musical clone they have a vibe and sound that is uniquely their own.

The album opens with the well crafted gem “Room Of Tears” we found ourselves hanging on every word. The vocal performance on “Room Of Tears “ is absolutely stunning.

We found ourselves instantly drawn to “Dazzler” by the chorus we were eagerly singing along . Single, “Divided Line” shows a band that is in sync and on point .

Every song on “CL.1” is excututed with absolute perfection. However, if we had to pick a favorite it would be “Insides” Clone absolutely brings everything they have on this track and boy does it show – Bravo

Recorded and mixed by NYC legendary producer Martin Bisi  (Sonic Youth, Swans, Brian Eno, Herbie Hancock, Iggy Pop, Helmet) at the famed BC Studio, built with BRIAN ENO. Crow Follow Deliver A Groovy Trip With “I’m In Love With You”

We recently had the extreme privilege to check out the new single “I’m In Love With You “ via Rock Garden Records from Boston based shaman rock and urban cabaret brigade Crow Follow .

Listening to “I’m In Love With You” from Crow Follow feels like a groovtastic out of body experience which, we highly recommend.

The musical juices are overflowing on “I’m In Love With You “ as they have artfully added low-rock, post-punk, and art-rock vibes to give you a song that you won’t soon forget.

Crow Follow will bring their brilliant live show to The Jungle in Somerville on June 28 with Emily Grogan Band, Catwolf, and Galaxy Cake. 

Onstage is where seeds of Crow Follow’s latest smoke dance of a single were first planted, as the music that flows through them during live sets helped foster an intimate connection amongst the band members themselves and the audience in the room. Like a cherry bomb lit off a hot summer sidewalk, the rambunctious “I’m In Love With You” fires dueling guitar and saxophone lines, swirling in unbridled loving energy. Providing a magnetic low-end soundtrack for underground dance parties, it opens our hearts in a time of tension and chaos.

‘I’m In Love With You’ is about this vibe I get when we’re playing on stage,” says Crow Follow guitarist and vocalist Tim Sprague. “The music swells up out of me, but it’s not me. It’s something bigger using me to express this passion, this love. Everyone in the room was a collaborator, a co-conspirator when this song birthed itself on stage. That chorus of ‘You know / I’m in love with you’ comes from an authentic emotion. When the music is running through me I am in love with everyone in the room.”

‘I’m In Love With You’ is another statement of determination from a band that relentlessly promotes our drive to live and thrive,” asserts vocalist Agent Judy. “We will not be swayed from our deepest connections to the evolutionary source of our creative forces. Looking Glass War Proves They Are The Definition Of Cool With Latest Single “See You In Hell, Liberty Bell”

We don’t like to beat around the bush here on The Whole Kameese so, we are just going come out and say it Boston based Looking Glass War is the definition of cool. Their latest single “See You in Hell, Liberty Bell” is hands down one of the best new songs of 2024 .

Fresh off an appearance in the semi-finals of Boston’s infamous “Rock and Roll Rumble,
Looking Glass War are set to release their first single off the forthcoming EP, “Saints of The Lost and Found “, set for release later this fall. Fans of the band’s driving post punk energy and soaring vocal melodies from their 2023 debut EP, “Where Neon Meets The Rain”, are in for a special treat as they continue to evolve their style with the new song “See You In Hell, Liberty Bell”.

Guitarist, Pete Zeigler and bassist Mike Ackley, established the foundation for the song, Zeigler
citing “a three parts equal mix of Chameleons, old REM and Stone Roses”. After the bones of the song quickly evolved creating a song that drummer Tony Porter describes as “one of ourmost interesting yet” with what singer Goddam Glenn believes to be one of the catchiest vocalmelodies he felt he had written for Looking Glass War to date.

Reflecting on the lyrics, Glenn explains “I wanted to write my own version of ‘here we are now,
entertain us’ from that little song you might be familiar with. So I came up with this line ‘inspire
us or die,’ which is obviously a much more menacing demand from the audience. That sets up
the overall ‘attitude’ of the song, lyrically speaking. From there on out, it’s the story of two
people trying (and failing) to establish a relationship in a world that’s falling apart around them.
They are angry and cannot decide whether it’s each other to blame or the rotten state of the
world in which they are trying to make something beautiful emerge.”

“See You In Hell, Liberty Bell” creates an awareness within the band that they have raised the bar on what they can create through a deeper commitment to collaboration and experimentation. “See You In Hell, Liberty Bell” was produced and m astered by Brian Charles Recorded at Rare Signals

Mutes are more than a band … they are three highly skilled expert musical craftsmen, who delicately construct breathtaking melodies that are honestly otherworldly. “Barely Living Proof is an absolute gem.

What is remarkable about “Barely Living Proof” and the upcoming album “…buried where you stand” is that the trio recorded almost completely live . The single is a dynamic meandering through existential crisis – a topic the band cover a lot throughout the course of the album, due for release May 17th.

The band comments: Our goal when writing and recording ‘…buried where you stand’ was to capture the essence of our live sound in the most honest manner possible – this meant all tracking in a room together with very little separation between instruments, and minimal overdubs. Our ‘Albini record’, if you will. 

Barely Living Proof, is the 3rd track to come from “…buried where you stand”, and is absolutely stunningly perfect. Treated piano and vocals loops lurk beneath chromatic musings, until the sober tone gives way to a jarring out-and-out post-punk assault, with dual drum kits and dissonant noise bringing the song to its stark conclusion.

We are completely mesmerized by Mutes , they are most certainly a band to keep your eye on .

Bassist Dustin Perry says, “Erase the Morning” is one of the few things I’ve written that I can detach and enjoy as a song. I think it’s really beautiful, and I’m not one to love myself.”

Vocalist Aaron Stauffer adds, “The song lyrics are about how difficult it is to change the way people live; and as a result how many find themselves isolated and alone. To me, the positive part is that all life is completely impermanent, thus all of the light will fade. So the hard time that someone might be having in this moment is really just a blink of an eye.“

“Erase The Morning “ is well written song from top to bottom. Ghost Work has crafted an absolute gem that artfully examines the human condition.

We love the energy surrounding Ghost Work . “Earthquake “ is both sonically and melodically pleasing. Ghost Work are like a well oiled machine that are ready to conquer the world, one great song at a time.

Vocalist Aaron Stauffer recently told No Echo, “This track hit me with the ferociousness of the most intense rainstorm you’ve ever experienced and it definitely has my favorite drumming on the record. Lyrically, the song is about how our emotional states can be as chaotic as those storms or similar to the ground giving way beneath our feet.”

Even as past artistic endeavors come to a natural ending point, new inspiration can take root under the most trying circumstances. Ghost Work is a story of escaping cycles, the power of reconnection, and balancing the formative past with an unrevealed future. While time moved forward in fits and starts for the members of Ghost Work — Sean Husick (Milemarker), Erin Tate (Minus The Bear), Aaron Stauffer (Seaweed), Dustin Perry (Snapcase) — the urge to continue to create remained constant. With such an impressive collective background of prior projects, the pool of inspiration, resources, and chops ran nearly infinite, but the story began with a timely reuniting and a collaborative desire to pursue the same signal fire.

We are absolutely over the moon excited for “Light A Candle for the Lonely” to come out on March 8th , till then we will put “Earthquake” on constant repeat .

BC’s THE HAPTICS Capturing the Berlin Beat With ‘Bodies’ Unveils the Euphoria and Inner Struggles of Collective Rhythms from Their Newest EP Zero Gravity.

Bodies – These lyrics were inspired by a night that Jin had dancing in Berlin at a party called Herrensauna, at Tresor. Getting swept up in the momentum of a crowd, dancing, is such a powerful thing – we wanted to capture that dynamic, as well as the opposing nature of individuals getting caught up in their head with repetitive thoughts and thinking. That push and pull between being part of a crowd and feeling imprisoned by your body and mind inspired this song–The Haptics

We couldn’t help but be completely enthralled with Mutes and their stunning new musical composition “Mere Slaughter “ which, is our first taste of Mutes upcoming fourth studio album.

Originally conceived as a solo, primarily-ambient project by vocalist and lyricist James, Mutes released their eponymous debut EP in 2014. Things took a decidedly noisier turn with the release of Starvation Age in 2015, a full-band release that embraced the groups love of noise-rock and psychedelia. The group released their debut album No Desire in 2017 through independent label FOMA, celebrated by the likes of DIY Magazine and The Line of Best Fit.

Mere Slaughter is a three minute cacophony of dissonant no-wave guitar, anguished vocals and a balabouring rhythm section. The blistering track’s feral intensity serves as a raw reflection of a nation being slowly exenterated of possibility.

Recorded entirely live, the song is an evident display of the band’s desire to capture the uninhibited intensity of their performances.

Discussing what inspired the single, the band explain: “‘Mere Slaughter; was born from a need to write something ugly and dissonant – somewhat of a sonic exorcism. A lament for a society that is slowly eating itself by means of division and gaslighting.”

Mute’s artfully gives us an absolute gem with “Mere Slaughter” In a musical landscape that can have a lot of unneeded static, it is refreshing to know that we have a band like Mutes that are able to create pure sonic and melodic brilliance.

PEACH Releases Electrifying Self Titled Debut

We recently got the chance to check out the debut self titled album from Bristol (UK) based desert-rock post-punk four-piece , PEACH . (Spoiler Alert: This Record Absolutely Rocks)

In 2019, drummer Andy Sutor and guitarist Jean-Paul Jacyshyn (JP) started working on ideas for PEACH. Their shared love of 90’s and early 2000’s desert rock, punk and grunge helped shape up their ideas, citing influences such as Queens of the Stone Age, PJ Harvey and Eleven. Soon after recruiting Tim Cooke on baritone guitar, the initial song ideas started to take shape, but progress was inevitably stifled…

Due to the pandemic delaying progress, the lineup of PEACH finally reached completion in the summer of 2021. Local powerhouse, Ellie Godwin (No Violet), started collaborating on vocals, bringing along writing and vocal influences such as Joni Mitchell and Jeff Buckley. Taking their ideas to the rehearsal room, the band pulled together a hard hitting set of songs. After such a drawn-out inception, they thought it deserved to be recorded.


With a handful of successful singles under their belt, PEACH have been championed by the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Daniel P Carter, Noizze, James Scarlett (Arctangent and 2000Trees festivals) and BBC Radio Wales’ Adam Walton. They have been awarded support slots alongside bands such as Mclusky, LIFE, Chiyoda Ku, Crows, Skin Failure and CLT DRP as well as a slot in 2022’s Arctangent Festival.

Their debut self-titled album was recorded in Devon at Middle Farm Studios in February 2022 with the incredibly talented and versatile producer Peter Miles (Architects, Dodie, Petrol Girls, TesseracT). Staying true to their original influences, the band opted to record live to tape, using minimal overdubs and capturing the raw energy that now defines their sound.

From the powerful and mesmerizing drum beats on opening track “Dread” it is clear that PEACH are a bunch highly skilled musicians who create powerful and energetic music filled with passion and emotion. We were hooked instantly.

PEACH are not a band who dabble in smoke and mirrors their style and sound is authentic and genuine.

On “Care” we are lured in by the impressive guitar melodies and the electric vocal performance from vocalist Ellie Godwin.

One track that really stood out is the latest single “Already There”


Discussing their influences and meaning behind the song, the band explain: “

We are going to lie we pretty much played “Already There “ on continuous loop , definitely one of our favorites.

Alongside the single saw its music video, directed and produced by graphic designer Charlotte Gosch (studio other types) and IDLES’ Lee Kiernan – both part of the film production company Holding Hands with Horses.

“Long Mover” is an absolutely stunning track it really showed the incredible versatility of PEACH.

We were absolutely through the roof excited to check out the debut EP “Where Neon Meets The Rain “ from Boston based post punk glam quartet Looking Glass War .

The collection of songs on the debut EP “Where Neon Meets The Rain” from Looking Glass War , is a fine example of all that is good in music .

“Where Neon Meets The Rain “ is an EP that is filled to the brim with well crafted thought provoking songs that grab your attention from note one .

The opening track “Arrive!” Is the absolutely perfect opening track , as it properly introduces the listener to the musical goodness that is Looking Glass War . Lead singer Goddamn Glenn delivers a show stopping vocal performance that literally will take your breath away .

The second track “I Can Tell By The Cars “ is so magnetic , we can’t pull away from it. Looking Glass War is firing on all cylinders on this track . The well written lyrics take center stage on “I Can Tell By The Cars”

“A Tsar Is Torn “ is the kind of the song that makes you really stop and listen. We had this one on heavy repeat .

The final track “A Gun On A Wall In A Scene “ has a great 90’s Britpop vibe , that we absolutely love .

When asked about the EP, guitarist Pete Zeigler commented “The song-to-song flow is the real first statement from this band, as this EP shows different sides of the whole Looking Glass War sound. We’re taking classic post-punk and indie sounds and moving them beyond the derivative and into new territory. Familiar underpinnings but with new twists.”

Where Neon Meets the Rain – its title taken from a lyric in “Arrive!” – was produced by Brian Charles, with assistant engineer Adam Hand; recorded in Massachusetts at Mad Oak Studios in Allston and Rare Signals in Cambridge, MA; and mastered by Peter Linnane.

Vocalist Goddamn Glenn, guitarist Pete Zeigler, Mancunian ex-pat bassist Mike Ackley, and drummer Tony Porter have created a musical work of art that could possibly be one of the best EP’s we’ve heard this year . We recently got to check out the new EP “Suede Original” from Clinton,Massachusetts/Brooklyn, New York based band Space Cadet.

We have been playing the latest EP “Original Suede on a constant loop , We are officially hooked on their infectious vibe and sound .

Space Cadet is the musical brainchild of Dave Walsh and Matt Hock . The two have been friends for almost 25 years and ,previously made music in the band The Explosion .

Space Cadet was formed in 2020 when Matt and Dave wanted to expand their collective sound beyond punk rock. The following year, they channeled influences of shoegaze, Brit rock, new wave and punk into their acclaimed debut LP on Wiretap Records, ‘Lion on a Leash.’

Now two years later, the band has just released ‘Suede Originals,‘ a 4-song EP and the first release by Brooklyn’s Miserable Neighbor Records. The record is a concentrated dose of driving guitars, big choruses, and insistent hooks. Initially slated to appear on the next Space Cadet full-length, these songs deserved to stand on their own.

‘Suede Originals’ was produced by Pete Steinkopf (Bouncing Souls) at Little Eden in Asbury Park and mastered by Alan Douches. It features Matt Olsson on bass and drums.

All four songs : “Suede Originals“, “Sunshine State “, “What’s The Matter With You “ and “Ya Ya Ya” four of the finest song you find anywhere. Space Cadet have truly out done themselves on “Suede Originals “

J. Graves – “Fortress Of Fun”Choose Your Own Adventure L.P.

We are so excited for the release of FORTRESS OF FUN from Portland,Oregon based Post-Punk , Dance Punk band J.Graves .

We love everything about this record from the concept ( We will get to that in a minute) to the sound we love all of it .

Bandleader Jessa Graves is a musical wizard her latest album is an outpouring of wild fury and plaintive sadness with a dark, angular sound. You can listen to “Fortress Of Fun” on Spotify Here and on Bandcamp Here

The Themes and performance on this record are absolutely brilliant and stand magnificently on their on own however, the music is only half the story as this is a Choose Your Own Adventure Album.

Wanting to do something with a little more depth that would engage audiences creatively while welcoming listeners into their experience, the idea was borne from finding a choose-your-own-adventure book in a sci-fi themed studio during the recording process of previous album Deathbed. Early 2020 was tough for the band; like many artists, their built-up momentum was quickly shuttered by COVID’s insurgence. So, in mid-2020, the band went on a getaway to the coast, and the house they were staying in – lit up at night next to the dark ocean – became known as their “fortress of fun,” a title that seems immediately at odds with the album’s often-dark undertones, but one that nonetheless suits Graves’s fight to stay in the light.

We love the fact there are two components to this record. the first a mournful and mysterious effort that parses waves of difficult emotions. The second a lush, eclectic undertaking that puts listeners and viewers at the forefront of the band’s collective imagination. Each song from the album comes with a video, through which viewer/listeners can make choices that will lead to further interactive videos. Though the songs are, thematically and contextually, fully distinct from their choose-your-own-adventure video counterparts, the emotion remains raw and real, and J. Graves, with the help of mixer/producer Sylvia Massy, has fine-tuned their sound like never before into something simultaneously painful and buoyant.

“Fortress Of Fun” kicks of with the explosive “Valentine” The track starts with the “stand up and take notice” vocals from Jessa Graves .We love how the song builds and becomes this full on dance party that you can’t ignore.

We can feel the raw , deep emotion in “Marauder “It’s the emotion and pain throughout the record that gives the record such a delicate tone .

One of our favorite tracks on this epic record that we truly enjoyed was “Ass U Me “ this song has it all . The vocals on “Ass U Me” are truly other worldly. We found ourselves totally entranced with this track. We were also deeply taken by the musicianship on “Ass U Me” J.Graves are a well oiled machine that are 100 percent in the zone .

Another track that is an epic display of musical greatness is the closing track “Mad” The song builds and washes over you with such emotion and intensity. We truly couldn’t get enough of this song. You can watch the video for “Mad” below .
