We have had April 24th , circled, highlighted and underlined on our calendar for months… “I Know A Place” , the debut album from Bristol, (UK) rock trio Krooked Tongue, is an epic melodic tapestry of sheer musical bliss and genius. You can indulge in the richness that is “I Know A Place” on Spotify Here and on Apple Music Here

We have never been shy about our admiration of Krooked Tongue, and we can promise you we will never be ….. because we firmly believe that great albums and great music should be shared and shouted about from the mountain tops. Krooked Tongue (Oli Rainsford ,vocals/bass, Dan Smith , guitar/ vocals and Harry Pritchard, drums) are perhaps one the most powerful and well put together bands you will find on the planet…. Their musicianship and chemistry is off the charts.
The album arrives today (April 24th) to limited edition vinyl.

With the financial pressures of being an independent band navigating the costs of recording and releasing their debut album to vinyl, as well as self-funding a trip to New York City to showcase at its renowned New Colossus festival in March, Krooked Tongue turned to GoFundMe and with the support of their fanbase, raised £1,000 in less than two weeks
From top to bottom, “I Know A Place” is rooted in rock solid songs that are melodically and sonically works of art that deserve to be celebrated in every way.
Krooked Tongue, sets the scene with the title track, “I Know A Place” and doesn’t ease up for a second. These songs demand to be played at the maximum level possible and you must sing every word as if your life depended on it. ( P.S…. The guitar work on the title track , “I Know A Place “ is nothing short of legendary.
Produced by long-time collaborator Josh Gallop (Sergeant Thunderhoof, Mother Vulture) at Stage 2 Studios in Bath, their 10-track album spans the breadth of the human experience: teenage love, life’s turbulences, unfulfillment, technology, human connection, grief and fighting fear and exploring the unknown. The album marks a shift toward the most striking evolution of the bands sound, from initially forming whilst at university together, to spending years refining their songwriting and finding a mature sonic identity that is unmistakably theirs.
On the creation of the album, vocalist and lyricist Oli Rainsford says, “‘So here it is. The debut album. It almost feels as though it’s always been. That this collection of songs have been rattling around in peoples heads for eternity but then we’re met with the reality that this is just the beginning. The title track from the debut album of the same name ‘I Know A Place’ is a reference to the conflict and the game of chess played by authoritarian figures throughout history time and time again. We live in turbulent times where people will too gladly pin their politics to the mast and let human connection fall by the wayside. We are only to blame for our failure to connect, falling into the abyssal trenches of division. Despite the commentary on the state of society, as a band we aim to allow the listener to find escapism from reality. An umbrella to the acid rain, where underneath sits two deck chairs and a cooler full of beers. This album hopes to bring back the love that we have so carelessly released our grip from.”
We are truly smitten with every track, on “I Know Place” , from Krooked Tongue, because every track is a beautifully composed song that will truly touch the heart and soul of music lovers around the globe.
We personally love all 10 , however if we had to pick one that we absolutely loved….. it would without question be … “I Don’t Believe In Ghosts “ this song is an otherworldly masterpiece. Some song come and go others have the power to be life changing….. “I Don’t Believe In Ghosts “ is definitely one of those songs.
Music is a beautiful thing and Krooked Tongue, have crafted a debut album, with “I Know A Place “ that will play endlessly in your music loving soul.
