The track was inspired by a situation that should be relatable to anyone who has ever waited impatiently for a romantic interest to reply.

“Don’t Check Your Phone” began in the moments between texting a crush and waiting for a reply, my brain buzzing with all the potential outcomes. I wrote this song to pass the time while waiting for that text and to prepare my mind for when things didn’t work out.”– Whitehall

Hailing from a small town in New Hampshire, the Florida singer-songwriter is unveiling “Without You,” an impassioned ballad in which Malachi shares his feelings for a girl he never wants to leave. For Malachi, it’s the logical follow up to his two break-up songs, “Craving Me” and “Psychopath.”

“I had written two break-up songs so I thought I should put out a love song, so people don’t think I’m a morbid singer,” he says with a laugh. “It’s a cool representation of the pain you feel when you don’t want to lose somebody who you love. I think all of us feel that way. It relates to a very broad group of people.”

Sic Waiting was formed in 2000 by Jared Stinson. Over the course of the decades they’ve released multiple albums and EP’s and are back with another strong full length called A Fine Hill to Die On. The title pays homage to the sound that defined melodic punk rock in the 90’s and is still what the band plays so well. A virtual revolving door of musicians over the years has seen Stinson keep the music alive, and now includes Jason York and Daniel Bubert, two equally established vets of the SoCal music scene.

Xondra is a brave and fierce voice who masterfully blends elements of pop,rock,R&B and indie pop,Xondra’s music explores feminist themes with a heartbreakingly honest delivery.

Across the delicately constructed six tracks that make up her EP, ‘Tedious & Brief,’ Xondra shares her experience of being a woman trying to survive in a man’s world. “I wrote this story for all of the people who have been hurt by the people who were supposed to love and keep you safe,” she says. “I wrote Tedious & Brief for all the people learning to speak up even if their voice trembles.”

The opening track “Tedious” is an absolutely beautifully written melodic song that that is a fervent ballad about finding the strength to reclaim your time, energy and love. “It is a song for the people that love so much and so hard that they sometimes forget to save some for themselves; it is for those learning to step out of survival mode and really live in the present,” says Xondra. “’Tedious’ is me putting myself first. It is me allowing myself to to walk through the hard feelings I was having and still be hopeful that good times were coming down the road for me.”

“Brief” musically has this cadence about it that is slow moving but it stays with you . “Brief” may itself be brief but, it’s message is very powerful.

Xondra does a magnificent job of using her a voice as a sail that is navigating through tough times “Waterworks” is extraordinary.

“ There is a deep authenticity and realness with “Inner Child “ that you can feel almost immediately. Inner Child” delivers another important message about finding the root of one’s pain and lovingly embracing it.

“‘Inner Child’ is about how someone can have the same experience as you and come out with a completely different perspective. In this case in particular, it’s about siblings who cope differently after growing up in a toxic home environment,” Xondra writes. “I have always been very reluctant to write about this kind of thing because it is so personal. ‘Inner Child’’is me validating what I went through, even if it’s too difficult for the other people involved to do the same. We all heal at our own pace and in our own way. This is me giving myself permission to be honest about my experience and how it impacted me. I am still moving through it and granting myself grace as I continue to heal because healing is never linear.”

Our first introduction to Xondra came via the emotionally charged “Dead Girl “ Led by Xondra’s stirring vocals, “Dead Girl” is an anthemic, battle cry that confronts society’s desensitization to violence against women

Xondra elaborates on the powerful message behind “Dead Girl” : “Violence against women has, for so much of history and to this very day, been the main plot line to so many movies, shows and podcasts. ‘Dead Girl’ is about how we have become so desensitized that we don’t care about the safety of women. It’s about the fear of being a woman/AFAB person and not knowing if danger is right around the corner. It’s about never feeling safe, even around the men that you know, because all men that have hurt you have been the men closest to you. ‘Dead Girl is me screaming out for someone, anyone to hear me and validate this fear that feels so lonely at times.”

The final track on “Tedious & Brief “ – Life Force” is an emotional heartfelt goodbye that feels like Xondra opening up to what she feels while also trying to move on which, is never easy .

“Tedious & Brief” is far more than 6 beautifully written songs. “Tedious & Brief “ is an important captured moment that needs to heard and shared . Xondra shows tremendous strength by telling the important story of this EP. Xondra is truly a voice for those who feel they have no voice or feel they are not loud enough.

We were honored to check out the new single “The Clearing” by NYC-based experimental solo artist project, Marcyline.

We found Marcyline to be hauntingly intriguing as the music had a welcome sense of dark mystery.

The Clearing, is a bracing dose of cryptic and claustrophobic experimental indie rock imaginatively arranged and coawith ethereal textures. The song is inspired by a ghostly and winter woodland encountered on a bizarre late-night walk. Story goes that the pair found a path in the woods that led to a strange circular open area that looked and felt liminal and unnerving.

“The Clearing” was one of the first songs lyrically developed for the project and set the tone for the feel of the project. Some of its words were written as the song was recorded with Chris preferring to improvise so as to stay close to the emotions and feelings he was experienced during his and Drew’s spooky stroll. The opening lines here are juicy and scene-setting, Chris sings: Last night my brand new best friend asked if I was up for a little walk she said I wanna go to the overpass at night I wanna live somewhere that’s safe/We went to go there is someone behind me there’s someone on my left there is something behind me/And as the camera swings around for the wide shot I’m stuck being ground to dust. Chris says: “Those words capture a moment where I was extremely tired and paranoid, and was pretty consistently feeling a strangely intense fear of something watching me or being right behind me.”

We found ourselves entranced by the mystical beauty of “The Clearing “ This is an artist and a song that you must experience.

We recently check out the new single+video “Lost And Found “ from Pittsburgh, PA electro pop-funk artist Princess Nostalgia

We felt such a fun vibe/energy with Princess Nostalgia. She is an artist who seems very comfortable on the stage . Princess Nostalgia is also not just a singer with amazing voice .

In addition to being a singer/songwriter she is an internationally based producer , composer, director and multi instrumentalist . Princess Nostalgia typically is a one woman show with her creative endeavors. However,she recently had an epiphany that her staunchly defiant autonomy might inhibit her growth. So, she manifested a co-producer in multi-platinum producer, engineer, and recording artist David Hillis (Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Afghan Whigs, James Blunt).

The single Lost and Found is a pop-funk track with a sleekly nuanced production aesthetic. It boasts a smoothly integrated melding of synthetic and organic textures, including tightly-clipped stanky syncopated melodies that seem guitaristic, coolly laconic vocals, and dramatic textural synth flourishes. When it came to waiting for Goalkeeper’s debut full-length album “I wish I Met You Sooner” we felt like we did when we would go on long road trips as a kid and yelled “Are We There yet???

Well we are happy to report just like that trip to Virginia Beach….. “I wish I Met You Sooner “ was absolutely 100% worth the wait (plus we didn’t get car sick this time)

In all seriousness “I Wish I Met You Sooner” is a prime example of a band hitting it’s absolute creative stride .

East Bay punk favorites Sarchasm give us the spectacular new single and video for “Crazy” -We are absolutely nuts for this song it 100 percent slays . It’s an ultra energetic ode to relationships both internal and external . It is single number 1 off their forthcoming full length album Conditional Love

The announcement is bittersweet, too: (cue sad sound effects) After 12 years together, Sarchasm will be disbanding shortly after the album is released on December 2.

On its surface, “Crazy” is a straightforward anthem about breaking up with a partner and getting over them. Bassist and songwriter Alex Botkin says there’s another layer to the track. “On the underlying level, it is definitely more about the person from their perspective and struggling with not having a good self-outlook.”

We have always admired Sarchasm. Their sound has always been this electrifying melodic sound that was always so freaking cool and real and not to mention they always seem like they are having a blast .

The video plays off the song’s themes of moving past anger and self-loathing toward acceptance, represented by a battling pair of Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots-inspired boxers. Much like Sarchasm’s music, the tongue-in-cheek presentation invites listeners to have a great time while sharing deeper themes and messages. “Crazy” also encapsulates many of the feelings the band has had about themselves as a group, even though it was written long before Conditional Love was ever conceived.

Sarchasm will be playing their album release and farewell shows at This Year Sucked 8 at 924 Gilman Street in Oakland, California on December 30 and 31.

San Francisco art-punk trio Rip Room has dropped a new video for “Dead When It Started” off their recently released debut LP ‘Alight and Resound.’

The video was directed by Helen Young, a practicing visual artist currently residing in Calgary, AB. Young works primarily in painting, printmaking, clay and animation, bringing to life obscured characters and bold imagery. Perfect for Halloween Ska-Goth (Skath?) collective has released their spooky new single “Wake The Dead” You can listen to “Wake The Dead” on Spotify , Apple Music and on Bandcamp

The band says, “With “Wake the Dead” we wanted a big, menacing sound, worthy of the Lovecraftian horror that inspired it, to balance out the fun, bouncy horn parts that we love to write. We had a great time working to get the vibe just right for this monstrous love letter to coffee.”

Well if there is one thing we can behind here at The Whole Kameese is anything that has to do with coffee.

As high school students in Chicago’s suburbs, David Schwantes and Dane Erbach spent the bulk of their gym class brainstorming fake bands with their friends in an attempt to avoid whatever physical despair their PE teachers had in store for them that day. These bands—which included a death metal band called Throbbing Reaper and a ‘80s hair metal rockers Live Wire—never truly coalesced outside of their imaginations despite complete lineups and exhaustive discographies.

The idea of a “skath” band didn’t occur to Schwantes and Erbach until fifteen years later, but it stems from the same strange place: What would a goth ska band sound like, one combined the Misfits’s aesthetic with Reel Big Fish’s goofball schtick? The idea died quickly, another quirky idea that could have fun if there were enough hours in the day

Neither Schwantes nor Erbach were strangers to ska and punk music—both were in a ska band in college and worked together on an online database for midwest ska bands in the early 2000s. Both also played pop-punk together until Erbach turned toward other creative endeavors and Schwantes moved to San Francisco. That’s when the whole skath idea crawled out of its tomb and stumbled zombie-like back into their imaginations. Schwantes started writing songs while Erbach put together a team of family and friends to fill in vocals, horns, and organs. They sent recordings and ideas back and forth halfway across the continental United States, intent on seeing this idea through.

Thus, Grave Danger was born. Full of eerie organs and thick horns, their 2018 debut Let ‘er RIP! fulfilled their initial vision with surprising ease. A year later, the band finished Tomb It May Concern, their more realized five-song follow-up. And here we are with “Wake the Dead,” the second of two long-awaited singles following last year’s “Spector Inspector.” With its driving beat and call and response horns, “Wake the Dead” is a song about the amount of coffee required to raise a Lovecraftian beast from its comfy bed that both blue collar and white collar monsters will relate to. The songs features everything a good skath song should: a wagging bassline, swaggering horns, and just enough organs synths make the song spooky, not cheesy (or, well, maybe just cheesy enough). Singer Chris Marcanti‘s gruff, soulful singing conjures a Ckthulu-like protagonist to life with promises of caffeine—but will it be enough?

You might want to write Grave Danger as a novelty because, maybe, it is. But it’s also a daydream realized—or possibly a nightmare. It’s what would happen is Bobby “Boris” Pickett and his Crypt Kickers were still alive and listened to the BossTones: fun and furious music intended to make listeners laugh and dance. Most importantly, Grave Danger is a passion project created by dads and moms, aunts and uncles, software engineers and IT professionals and nurses, managers and entrepreneurs and CPAs, grown ups who work for nonprofits and public schools—regular people who, every once in a while, want to don corpse paint, pick up their instruments, shake off some dust, and blow the audience away.

We make no secret about our affinity for the music from our hometown Boston. Nervous Eaters are absolute legends here in their hometown of Boston. I can remember being a young kid and my “cool” uncle played “Loretta” for me for time .

With so many world leaders talking about WW3 and atomic warfare, there’s no telling what might happen. We have definitely have had this date circled on our calendar . Today Philadelphia rockers SORAIA have released the long awaited new album “Bloom” out now on Stevie Van Zandt’s Wicked Cool Records .

One track that really stands out to us is “Hammer and The Anvil “ We love the melodic feel on this track . Lyrically we found ourselves intrigued as if we were reading a classic novel

“Strutter” never sounded better, the band’s interpretation of the Kiss classic is brilliant.

We were really drawn to “Jackson’s Song “ The song really shows the versatility of SORAIA . a surprisingly simple song yet beautifully tragic love story between two bikers – is a vulnerable spot on the album. It’s one partner’s confession of her changing emotions and personhood that ends in a solid moment fated by twisted loyalty.

Another anthemic song is the soul-defining and very personal ‘Mephistopheles’ which closes the record. A claim on current culture mirrored in an intimately personal experience, Mephistopheles himself is a charmer – both wildly alluring and utterly deadly. The song’s highlight is the dark angelic backgrounds in the final chorus—a statement that visually brings to mind Dante’s Inferno. ’’Mephistopheles’ is about a real experience and holds its place at the end of our record for a reason….” affirms ZouZou Mansour, lead singer and lyricist for Soraia.

We recently checked out the new single and video “graveyard shift “ from singer songwriter Jonah Kagen. He also announced that his debut EP will be released on December 2nd .

We were instantly taken by Jonah’s authentic sound that is coupled with fervent lyrics that tug on heartstrings: there’s a sorrow in your soul that I recognize / I’ve been followed by the same ghost for all my life / darling I hate to see you cry like this / no matter how dark it gets / I’ll take the graveyard shift.”

The single was co-written with Mags Duval (Nessa Barrett, Lyn Lapid, Eric Nam) and co-written/produced by Joe Janiak (Ellie Goulding, Tove Lo, Britney Spears).

We were blown away by the versatility of the band . We were especially impressed with the hard hitting “Stand Up” the track had a little Red Hot Chili Peppers flavor to it.

Sonically “Paranoid “ was a flawless melodic masterpiece the band, really shine with this track.

“Backseat” struck us as the perfect song to have blasting while you are heading to the beach. We especially love the playful ending

At every turn on “Back and Fourth” Charlie Bit My Finger serves up nothing but world class pop punk.

Typically when we review a record we try to zero in on one song as our favorite . Charlie Bit My Finger made that almost impossible with so many great songs on the record. Do we pick “Dream On”? Or do we go with “Vows”?

In the end we went with turbo charged “Listen To Me Now “ It’s sonically perfect and is just one of those great songs that just stays with you .

We are so psyched to share another song from Guatemalan heavy dreamgaze duo Failing Exploration . The new single is “Stop Drop+Roll” . The new single is heavier than some of their other tracks but, we think the heavier sound really rocks !

Failing Exploration is an Alternative Rock band from Xela, Guatemala, formed by Jose del Carmen (Vocals/Rhythm guitar) and Marks Valdez (Lead Guitar). By distilling the sounds of Muse, The Smashing Pumpkins, Sigur Ros, MCR and Slowdive, Failing Exploration has crafted its own identity as a fast and heavy, yet also ethereal and atmospheric Alt-Rock combined with lots of emotional expression through deeply personal and vulnerable lyrics.

‘Champagne People’, a song about someone forgetting who they are, where they’ve come from and who their true friends are while pursuing success and fame.

Speaking about the inspiration for the single, Jamie says: “ I feel that we are living in this weird age where people are willing to do anything for fame. You see it all the time on social media – it’s so easy to put up a veil and hide all the realities and imperfections of life that ultimately make us human. Quite often, in these industries that promote the idea of fame as success, people surround themselves with an entourage of fake people; people that are only really there to further their own careers. On the outside looking in, it seems that no-one in these circles are truly content, but instead are lonely and looking to fill that void with possessions or short lived moments of attention and gratification.

“I guess I can’t help but feel for these people, so I wrote a song about someone who’s trying to climb the social ladder, and ends up alone, hiding behind a pretty picture of how they want their life to look.”

“Joy Ride Opus” is truly a great sounding collection of songs that should be required listening for any true music lover.

We were beyond privileged to check out Davey Harris and his new single “Ms Georgia” where he reflects on the power of a past love .

Let’s be honest, shall we? Davey Harris is pretty amazing not only has he wrote an amazing new song Ms Georgia which , we think should be on every top song list of 2022 in December.

I mean the pop sensibilities in Ms Georgia are off the charts . The other thing that makes the song so good is it has this retro feel to it. There is this psychedelic/ Brit pop beat to it that just amazing . And… the hand claps / clicks… pure gold .

Even though Ms Georgia ultimately is about heartache and bittersweet remembrance Davey Harris is able to his use epic gift of being a gifted storyteller laced over psychedelic folk rock instrumentation to make the song have a pleasant feel even if the subject matter is less than pleasant.

Now the other reason why Davey Harris is amazing (we got a little sidetracked) is that he is an artist with a solid conscious who is very versatile in what his song theme’s are, whether it be warnings about climate change to transparent self reflection . He is truly a unique gifted artist who needs to be heard and enjoyed by all.

Menne and Career Woman’s Melody Caudill sing about fear and change in latest single

Career Woman, the music project of 18-year-old Melody Caudill, today released a fourth single this year, “Dream Journal.” Caudill is joined by Al Menne of Seattle-based indie rock band Great Grandpa, who contributed vocals. “Dream Journal” is another deeply personal and intimate song about fear, change, and Caudill’s journey to trusting herself.

“Dream Journal “ is a breathtaking and delicate body of work that has a level of honesty that is both authentic and relatable.

The musical energy between Caudill and Menne gives “Dream Journal” a deep rooted soul that resonates throughout the song .

Central to Caudill’s writing is always a discussion of mental health or finding your way. In “Dream Journal,” Caudill and Menne explore imposter syndrome, anxiety, and the fear of change, “even if it’s for the better,” said Caudill. We recently checked out L.A. queercore synth punk project Belted Sweater (aka drummer/singer Christopher Patrick Gregory) and the first single “Dominion “ from their upcoming covers EP Health Goth. “Dominion” which a Sisters Of Mercy cover , is absolutely a stroke of genius.

Belted Sweater’s version of “Dominion” is such a fresh , unique, brilliant interpretation of the song that it should be displayed in a museum.

Gregory describes Belted Sweater as sounding if Henry Rollins was in the Pet Shop Boys but with live drums and even gayer lyrics, chronicling terribly humiliating Grindr hookups and free clinic visits.”

We recently checked out the mesmerizing new single“lover’s Eye” from San Diego dream pop project moondaddy. The track will be on moondaddy’s debut record and song was produced by Estereomance’s Manuel Calderon

Many artists have reported that during the pandemic because, there wasn’t anything to that it was a time where they were finding themselves expressing themselves creatively.

This was the case for San Diego artist multi-instrumentalist Cara Potiker as it was during the pandemic that she started her new project moondaddy as a way to escape the pandemic and the dread that came with it . She became obsessed with analog equipment and tangible audio formats, spending hours at a time locked in her space facing and out-letting her dreams, fears, and addictions. The only activity that felt safe was crate digging at local record stores, which inspired her to invest in a record lathe and tape deck to make physical demos.

Cara discovered El Paso, Texas-based Manuel Calderon aka El Cosmophonico listed as a mixing credit on the back of one of her favorite records and she eventually decided to hand over her demos for professional mixing. The two formed a fast musical connection and decided to cut a full album at Sonic Ranch, a pecan orchard and residential recording studio in Tornillo, Texas. Calderon and Potiker were joined by several talented local El Paso and Ciudad Juárez artists that contributed heart and depth to every soundscape. Pulling from influences ranging from 1970’s glam rock to 90’s shoegaze and trip hop, moondaddy’s forthcoming debut full-length, Poet Lies, is a reverb soaked, shimmering fever dream of a record.

The first single from the record, Lover’s Eye, is a glimpse into the pain of unresolved and unrequited love inspired by the Georgian trend of gifting portrait miniatures to secret lovers. The track begins with a recitative verse driven by a brooding bass line, thick melancholic strings, and a shrill wailing guitar. “I tore through the lovers eye, and I don’t know why“ ripples through the spacious, hook-driven chorus. The song arouses the listener by moving from cinematic grunge and indie rock to an energetic trip hop fade out. Lover’s Eye seamlessly encapsulates several genres while still fitting in with the rest of the album.

“Lover’s Eye” is an absolutely mystical delight We were captivated by the very spiritual vibe of the song . Cara Potiker is a gifted storyteller and musician who artfully brought “Lover’s Eye” to life . Her musical partnership with Manuel Calderon has resulted in an absolute gem.

We recently listened to the new single “Inner Child” from amazing New York based singer and songwriter Xondra.

There are not nearly enough adjectives to describe how incredibly beautiful and honest sounding “Inner Child truly is .

We were first introduced to Xondra last month via the single “Dead Girl” This month she raises the bar with the absolutely stirring “Inner Child “ There is a deep authenticity and realness with “Inner Child “ that you can feel almost immediately. Inner Child” delivers another important message about finding the root of one’s pain and lovingly embracing it.

“‘Inner Child’ is about how someone can have the same experience as you and come out with a completely different perspective. In this case in particular, it’s about siblings who cope differently after growing up in a toxic home environment,” Xondra writes. “I have always been very reluctant to write about this kind of thing because it is so personal. ‘Inner Child’’is me validating what I went through, even if it’s too difficult for the other people involved to do the same. We all heal at our own pace and in our own way. This is me giving myself permission to be honest about my experience and how it impacted me. I am still moving through it and granting myself grace as I continue to heal because healing is never linear.”

We recently check out the massively impressive new single “Haunted “ from Bristol (UK) -based alt-rock two-piece Pollyanna Blue. The duo (Zoe Collins( Guitar and Vocals) and Rich Earle (Bass and Vocals) bring it full tilt with mesmerizing and melodic driven sound that is absolutely stunning.

Their latest single Haunted, taken from their upcoming EP due in 2023, was one of the first songs Zoe had written before starting her Masters in Songwriting and Production in 2017. Feeling like it didn’t have the life in it that she’d anticipated, she took the song to Rich who helped break the song down to its bare bones and fleshed it out with a raw, heavier sonic and darker influence.

Recorded by Ash Scott (Memorist, Harper), Haunted is a tormenting track that lyrically explores processing and mentally fighting against anguish and the pressures of repetitive situations.

Speaking of the inspiration for the song, lyricist and vocalist Zoe Collins says, “In this song trauma is depicted as an unforgiving evil spirit that will come at you at night and relentlessly try to tear you down. The impactful delivery of the lyrics harnesses the real range of emotions of someone experiencing immense feelings of emptiness, sadness and anger. The lyric ‘like a headache’ depicts the side effects of dealing with large and repetitive amounts of trauma and stress to the brain, painting an unpleasant experience for the person being Haunted by their own predicament.”

We are super psyched for the “Haunted” music video, due on Halloween (October 31st) was directed, filmed and edited by Kieran Gallop (Phoxjaw, Sleep Token) and reflects the lyrical themes of the track.

“Haunted has it all we were particularly impressed with the electrifying musical chemistry between Zoe Collins and Rich Earle it gives the song another dimension.

We are a week away from Philly pop-punk band Goalkeeper unveiling their debut LP “I wish I met you sooner “ via Lost Music Collective/The Orchard .(We can’t wait,a week is a long time) Today we got a treat as the band has released a video for the third single “Lost Reality “ which features Nik Bruzzese from Man Overboard.

Produced by Kevin Mahoney (Hit the Lights & Joywave) and Nik Bruzzese (Man Overboard), this song was recorded at The Gradwell House. “Lost Reality” resulted from a crucial co-writing session with Bruzzese that ultimately made him and Gradwell House the obvious choice for Goalkeeper’s first LP.

“We worked hard to push Lost Reality in a way where we give the listener a lot of energy and a deeper look within some of the darker emotions we experience. Your Friday got a little bit cooler as Nashville based indie rock trio Goldpark has released their sophomore EP “Goldpark 2”

This is a bright and vibrant EP that absolutely sparkles. Goldpark have the amazing ability to not only write great songs but, they craft songs that paint vivid bright images that are musical messages of pure joy that make you forget about the day to day grind .

The opening track “I Guess it’s Never Enough “ Is the perfect “Roll the windows down and drive” song If this song doesn’t get you moving I would check your pulse.

“Lady Lightyear” just jumps out of the speakers and comes to life . We love the line “Gravity just burst into color , Feel the Heartbeat louder than thunder “

“If That’s What You” Is a stunning and beautiful song . The vocal on this track is absolutely breathtaking. We found ourselves listening to this one on repeat…. Just brilliant.

“Covered In Sunshine “ is a spectacular pop song that has all the feels . Goldpark has crafted an absolute gem with this track . We may or may not have air drummed to this one several times.

The final track “Summer In My Head” has a beautiful cinematic/ symphonic feel to it that makes it such a wonderful experience to listen to. Goldpark absolutely closed out the EP with class and style .

In a statement about the EP, Goldpark write: “This EP is special for so many reasons. We had the right songs, the right producer (Jeremy Lutito), and the right spirit. This body of work is the best representation of who we are and where we are going. We hope this EP makes people smile.”

Being “Ghosted” is not exactly the best feeling in the world but, the new single “Ghosted You” from queer synth pop sensation Plasmic is absolutely stunningly spectacular.

“Ghosted You “ has a vibrant and colorful feel that washes over you . We loved the 80’s vibe with “Ghosted You “ We were absolutely awe struck by Plasmic’s vocal performance.

At it’s core Ghosted you” is an unrequited queer love song highlighting the sides of being ghosted and ghosting someone. This synth pop track takes inspiration from Kate Bush and Phil Collins while still maintaining a modern pop vibe.

Do yourself a favor and check out this amazing track by Plasmic . You will be glad you did .

We just checked intoxicating single “Have You Ever?” from Austin three-piece post trio Urban Heat . The track features a duet with Los Angeles based synth/alt pop producer /Songwriter Party Nails who adds a new dimension to the original viral single.

“Have You Ever?” is an existential narrative “about questioning everything you’ve been taught,” proclaims vocalist Jonathan Horstmann. Featuring penetrating basslines, striking synths and attention grabbing melodies, “Have You Ever?” is a relatable anthem about living in the questions of life.

“‘Too Fast’ was inspired by the feeling of entering a new relationship and not wanting to take things slow because the vibe is so good,” sunsetto explains. “I wrote the song with no music, I was just hitting my chest on a voice memo and Lenno (producer) built the track around that.”

On “Aux” DARKO masterfully showcases their versatility by displaying both their melodic and heavy side. Not afraid to speak their mind “Aux” is a misanthropic attack on selfishness in COVID-era Britain in ‘AUX’.

DARKO gets honest and real with “Cruel To Be”a scalding attack on the “#BeKind” movement and influential online culture war ‘bullies’.

“We’re often lectured about how much nicer the world would be if we were all “a bit more kind”, says singer Tom West

“It’s a lovely sentiment, but if we aren’t standing up to bullies, we aren’t being “more kind” at all, we’re just being cowards and hypocrites. Calling out a bigot doesn’t make you as bad as the bigot.”

West continues: “Often the worst bullies use their massive platforms to attack marginalised groups, and then claim they’re the ones being bullied when people fight back. We recently had the distinct pleasure check out Nashville UnAmericana/Cowpunk quartet Love Hounds and their song “Endonesia” The track is on their upcoming full-length “No Love”

Love Hounds are everything that music should be.In what CB Brooks has dubbed UnAmericana, Love Hounds unites his love of punk rock and outlaw country with a wink and a nod to cowpunk, but a sound all of their own.

The band consists of David Keith on drums, Eric Ralls on lead guitar and Josh Emmons on bass, tied together with Brook’s distinct gravelly voice.

Their forthcoming first album, No Love, is a reflection of and reaction to Nashville’s honky tonks and highways, sprawling suburban strip-malls, two-day delivery conglomerates and a skyline of cranes. It’s being back in the burbs, all anger and angst with silence no longer being an option. This collection of screams into the void results in a rowdy and incriminating protest album that points the finger at everyone, but most especially Brooks himself.

For the album release, they’ve also helped curate UnAmericana Fest, headlined by punk legends The Queers, which will take place on November 19th in Murfreesboro, TN.

Capturing the spirit of Brooks’ journey, new single Endonesia is essentially his “F you, I quit” song. “I’ve had enough of indifference,” he dips in during the verse, alluding not only to his newfound realization that music and capitalism shouldn’t mix, but to his fresh anger toward the United States and toward an unfair system that favors those already in power.

The message is blunt, but aurally the song subverts expectations in unexpected ways, riding its soaring guitars victoriously across a sonic finish line that culminates in Brooks’ vocals that scream and skyrocket across his frustrated tonal universe.

We are absolutely over the moon about Love Hounds . They are a unique and genuine band that has a true and authentic message and they are afraid to be themselves.

Sugar, teeters on the line between bluesy bluster and 1990s slacker-rock, but it also manages to sneak in some tricky-timed riffage without coming off overly technical. The concept for the video, which was self-directed by Cade, was inspired by one of his favorite lyrics from the song: “I’ll put ‘Hot Fuss’ vinyl on / We’ll scream the words to every song again.” The video sees Cade strolling around New York City, stopping in record stores. Just like how the song grapples with whether to pursue an old flame, the music video follows Cade on his journey to find a record from his past. Will he find it again or will it remain a remnant of the past?

Cade Hoppe is a talented singer songwriter who’s future has no limits.

We were beyond pleased to check out the absolutely killer new record “Bad To The Bone” from new band M.U.T.T. featuring former members of Culture Abuse (John Jr,Shane Plitt,Matt Walker ) and Dead To Me’s Isa Knife.

After Culture Abuse dissolved John Jr. was unsure in what his next direction should be .

But after sending some home recordings to fellow Culture Abuse alum Matt Walker, the ghost of an idea began to take shape. At Walker’s behest, Junior booked time at Jack Shirley’s Atomic Garden Studios. In need of extra hands to fill out the lineup of a quickly emerging full-fledged band, Junior reached out to two more former Culture Abuse bandmates, Isa Anderson and Shane Plitt. In short order, a lo-fi bedroom project had morphed into a fully realized group, eager to move on from the shared trauma of their previous band’s dissolution. Thus emerged M.U.T.T. “ Take it Easy “ comes in with breakneck speed we were once again drawn in by its sing a long quality of this one .

The title track “Bad To The Bone “ is a loud thunderous punk anthem so explosive it could double as a fireworks display on the 4th of July .

It is beyond perfect that M.U.T.T. has a song on this record called “Thee Party Song” because the whole record feels like a party that has shifted into overdrive .

Our favorite track on “Bad To The Bone “ is the insanely catchy “High with You “ the song has a great infectious melody to it. We felt a little New York Dolls vibe on this one and the band flat out slays this song .

we love the guitar intro on “Cruisin’” The song has a very Ramones feel to it . We found ourselves hitting repeat several times on this one .

The thing that really sticks with you when you listen to M.U.T.T. Is how genuine and authentic their sound is . It‘s raw and real emotion and you can feel on every track on “Bad To The Bone” but we felt the last two tracks “Whirl” and “Partners In Crime” really show the true grit of M.U.T.T.

We Recently had the awesome opportunity to check out the brand new single “Thousand Yard Stare” by Allen Epley which in case you are wondering is absolutely melodically stunning . The track will be part of his debut solo album “Everything “ which be out on January 6th via the great people at Spartan Records.

Epley who is best known as the frontman for shiner has given us a haunting vocal performance on “Thousand Yard Stare” that stays with you long after the music has stopped.

Epley says, ““Thousand Yard Stare” is about a person close to me who’s consistently lied to me about their drinking. Hidden solitary drinking. It’s written from their view point and they’re clearly at an all-time low. Definitely driving away from everything; away from the other person; away to indulge and to give up on trying anymore.

Sonically we shot for a Jeff Lynne styled production and Dan Dixon nailed it perfectly. This is one of the tunes that i played everything on. Normally the drum tracks i’d put down were shit but we were like “well alright!” and they got used.”

Swedish Skate Punks No Fun At All release their first album “Seventh Wave” since 2018 and they deliver big time

The band was formed in 1991 split up and reunited over the years Seventh Wave is a brilliant collection of songs that are both sonically and melodically perfect.

The band is on top of their game and Seventh Wave is a master class in Skate punk.

What we love about this album is that themes are wide ranging . Our favorite track “It’s Not A Problem “ deals with singer Ingemar’s life on the family farm . The opening track “Tear Me Down “ is a sonic tour de force that is tough as nails . We were captivated by the vocal performance on “See The Splendor “ which is about criticism of the Swedish royals .

The third single “Dead and Gone” is according to Jansson “Set as a play that you don’t know if there’s any audience there to see”.

No Fun At All prove with “Seventh Wave” that they are one of the best in the business and they still have a lot left in the tank. Do yourself a favor and check this record out you will be glad you did.

We were super psyched to check the brand new single “Saints And Sinners “ from Evol Walks alongside Stockholm metalcore act DEFUELD. At first listen we can tell you that this ultimate rock duet . The Eaves consist of childhood friends Adam Cluckey, , Chris Couche, and Maurice Halliday . The Eaves have this great driving authentic rock sound that just feels right and genuine.

Of the latest single and upcoming album, The Eaves‘ Chris Couche says “’It’ll Be Okay’ was the last song we wrote for the record. The album as a whole, despite its base intention to convey hopefulness persevering over cynicism, had felt like it was still missing something undeniably hopeful. ‘It’ll Be Okay’ is meant to be that earnest, reassuring catharsis – direct, unashamed, and unadulterated.”

With a steady backbeat the band gives us the tremendous track “Breathe” Dancing On Tables gives us such warm and addictive songs that even if you are hearing a song for the first time, by the second chorus your full-on singing along .

In our opinion “Better Off Friends “ is a genuine smash that is destined for greatness.

The song “Sing Along “ is exactly that… a sing along you can’t help but belt out in traffic . ( we may or may not have done this )

You may not know it yet but “Colour In The Grey” by Dancing On Tables is about to become your new favorite record and with great songs like “So What “ and “Rollercoaster Love” it’s easy to see why .

We recently checked out St. Louis Americana group Lost on the Metro and their new single “Provenance”

Let’s get one thing out of the way before we go any farther… This song flat out smokes . It is by far one of the most bluesy track we have heard in a long time .Lost on the Metro are a tremendously talented group of musicians. Jilly Morey gives a powerful vocal performance that is simply stunning. Jilly Morey crafts beautiful and powerful lyrics that sometimes deal with difficult and dark themes, however, Jilly Morey is a voice that is needed in today’s landscape.Her songs are strong beacons of hope that speak deeply to the soul.

Formed with husband David, Morey’s band Lost on the Metro is easy to connect with and engaging to hear, due in no small part to the sparklings guitar, fiery vocals, and the ways in which the two interweave. New single Provenance, which was originally a four page poem, was drawn from themes of death, family, and community during the pandemic. Musically, Provenance features soaring vocals and screaming slide guitars in an alt-country endeavour, but below the surface the song battles disillusionment and disappointment with a buoyant, renewed optimism.

Here’s one to jumpstart your Friday!Bristol-based rock five-piece IOTA, released “Ballet Box “today, taken from their upcoming EP.

The raw explosive energy on “Ballet Box “ is absolutely incredible. Vocalist Jodie Robinson gives an electrifying performance that is beyond brilliant.

The band as a whole is sonically perfect . Jodie Robinson (Vocals) Josef Parkes (Guitar) Sam Mattison (Bass) Joe Dean (Guitar) and Thomas John (Drums) are a tremendous band who on “Ballet Box” put on an absolute clinic on what a great song should sound like .

“Ballet Box” was written much differently to their previous music and their usual way of working. Usually writing from lived experiences, this track in particular was based on a vision each member shared and worked together to build on.

Explaining the inspiration behind the single, vocalist and lyricist Jodie Robinson explains, “Its about a ballerina inside of a jewellery box coming to life as the box closes. Inspired by the thought of the ‘object’ coming to life and how they’d never know what it was like to be outside of that box and nobody would ever know that they were alive. There was a play on the element of control and feeling trapped, fighting with that part of your mind. It’s very much a song about ‘Is there more to life and can we fulfil that void’.”

We had the honor and privilege of checking out Austin indie rockers The Western Civilization and their first new single/video in 15 years “Bible Verses For Kids”

Religion can be a tough thing to cover but Rachel Hansbro half of the principle songwriting duo behind Austin indie rock The Western Civilization along with Reggie O’Farrell tackle the subject head on . There is a strong sense of honesty in this song that is so raw and real . Hansbro does not beat around the bush on how an endless pursuit in trying to please God can unravel a sense of identity, particularly when it comes to gender roles. That pressure can take up a lot of space in one’s mind, communicated on the track by the use of a whirring drone sound. Both infect the brain, pervasive in their inescapable natures. The drumming pounds almost relentlessly, furthering this incessant type of presence.

We often talk about how certain songs are important and need to be heard “Bible Verses For Kids is absolutely one of those songs .

We recently checked out the new single from New Orleans mod rock/brit pop band DR. MARY’S MONKEY “(She Said) This Girl is Free”

We fell hard immediately for “(She Said) This Girl is Free” It was love at first listen. DR. MARY’S MONKEY “ is everything that music should be. The band is based around the songs of singer-songwriter Shawn Gwin nicknamed “The Sage” by his band and producers . The four-piece band is Sage, guitar, vocals; Robin Sherman, bass, vocals; Yàno, keys, vocals; and David Shirley drums, vocals; plus special studio guests.

Dr. Mary’s Monkey’s single, (She Said) This Girl Is Free, is unabashed Motown-meets-Beatles pop-rock. It features a whistled melodic motif, a slowly simmering groove, and a sweetly sincere musical sentimentality that recalls classic soul. “It’s just another love song, an amalgam of dating stories from both myself and others along with some playful anecdotes,” Sage reveals. Recently we had privilege to check out “Don’t Wanna Be Your Friend “ from alt pop duo joan .The single is the first taste of their debut album.

“don’t wanna be your friend” was created after the band returned home from their biggest headline tour yet. Confiding, “Co-written with their friend Jon Capeci from the band Nightly, “don’t wanna be your friend” details the all too relatable feeling of being in a relationship with someone you love and feel close to but knowing that you need to move on as that person is not the right one for you. joan further reveals, “it’s also about growing up though and knowing that you just can’t continue being friends with each other, because you know how that situation turns out. hope this song resonates with you in some way – makes you realize you need to cut that person out of your life, makes you move, makes you want to start a band, makes you want to call your best friend :).”

We were so excited to listen to the new single “Keighley Heights from San Francisco based and U.K born Pop-rock singer-songwriter Mike Derrick.

At first listen “Keighley -Heights has this real dream pop feel to it .The tones and melodies are very lush and vibrant. Mike Derrick’s vocals have a very retro feel to them and come alive with vivid and vibrant melodies.

New single, Keighley Heights, is emotional and evocative soulful pop-rock that captures coming-of-age anxiety. It’s a portal back to a time when Mike was in his early-20s in college in Manchester, and he and his buddies went on a weekend trip to a quaint little English town in Yorkshire called Keighley. It was a magical getaway where the guys enjoyed hikes, rope swings, and breathtaking nature. These were moments of carefree young adultness, but, at the same time, they were haunted by fears of the future. “I wasn’t putting in the work with my studies, and I was worried about flunking out of the university. There was this joy of being with my friends, and this pit in my stomach because I worried I was going to be a failure in life,” Mike recalls. He frames this time with poetic insightfulness, especially when he sings: It didn’t help much, superior education/We misunderstood reality/The stakes were higher for that special creation/That was the heights of Keighley.

One thing is clear when you listen to 19 year old Thomas Day on his new single “Wildflower” His voice is absolutely stunning and the maturity in his vocals is far beyond his 19 years .

It is often said that the best song are simple and straightforward.This is definitely the case with “Wildflower “ The song Opening is with a simple guitar line and Thomas’ arresting vocals, “Wildflower” builds towards an uplifting, energetic chorus. “This is my song to help anyone who is feeling alone,” Thomas comments. “No matter how pretty someone is or how amazing their life looks, everyone experiences pain and can get lost sometimes.”

The accompanying “Wildflower” music video which, you can view below was directed by Brenton Giesey and shot in Nashville, TN. “The music video landscape was so pretty and so fitting for the song itself considering there were so many flowers all around me,” Thomas adds. “I loved being able to portray that song through physical imagery.”

We are completely captivated by Thomas Day and clearly we are not alone . Thomas Day has quickly emerged as one of pop’s most exciting new acts. After taking off on TikTok with his captivating covers he signed to Arista Records in 2021, evolving into a full-fledged pop act with hit singles like “not my job anymore” and “The New Me.”

We can’t to hear more from Thomas Day he is definitely an artist who is on the rise and we can’t wait to see what he does next .

We have been super excited to finally share our full review of Palps incredible new album Black Heart also we got to view their eight chapter video companion which is one of the most extraordinary things we have seen in quite sometime. We also had the privilege of chatting with Vocalist and Lyricist Alex Gray and have added some of his thoughts and insights about the record.

The album started out as many albums do with songs starting out in skeleton form and then they begin to take shape. However, as the band began to formulate the new album PALPS, found themselves like the rest of the world faced with a global pandemic. Alex Gray shared with that one of the saving graces was that during the pandemic per the musicians union they were allowed to practice once a week .

Not only did the band have the task of putting the album together but they also had the eight part video story as well. Alex remarked that it was the first time that he had written a script so, the band teamed up with director Arthur René Walwin . Alex explained “Arthur was great in that we would share our idea’s and he would tell us what would work and wouldn’t work”

When talking with Alex Gray it was fascinating to hear the process of putting everything together.Alex also shared with us that parts of “Black Heart” are autobiographical definitely makes the project more authentic and certainly heartfelt. One of the things that made this such interesting endeavor was that band brilliantly release one song and one video beginning in March 2022 and continued with a new character every month.

The first track “Ava” you are immediately greeted by the thunderous drumming of Hayden Crease . The song presents its self is almost like a wave that is building and building sonically but then comes crashing ashore. Vocally Alex Gray gives a very emotional performance that really helps you feel connected to the story especially when paired with the visuals.

With the visual for “Ava” you start to get a real feel for the story . You meet “Matt” and “Rose” and get to watch their story unfold and develop . You can see the great care that was taken to really make you feel connected to these characters. You not only get to feel their joy but you also are front and center for their pain .

The second track “Love, Always you get this uneasy feeling as the melody starts off slow followed by the feeling of the song changing course almost as if to symbolize the moods of “Matt” The lyric “In Six months I might feel incredible I’ll just have to wait and see “ we feel that really gives you a read as to where “Matt” is mentally.

When speaking with Alex we talked at length about the prominent theme throughout the album and visuals which is mental health . Alex explains” Black Heart at its core is about how traumatic events and mental health struggles can leave you hardened, no longer able to express love in the same way that you used to and can often lead to you hurting those closest to you, without you even realising.”

The visuals for “Love,Always “ do an excellent job in mirroring the melodic presentation in the song . We are able to see “Matt” truly in a fog and having dark thoughts and emotions creep in. This is more evident by the arrival of “The Plaque Doctor “ who represents “Matt’s dark thoughts

Track Three “Consequences “ is perhaps our favorite track on the whole record. Palps are magnificently in sync on this track. It is a thing of pure beauty . The guitar work of both Alex Gray and Liam Kelly is absolutely stunning . The bass line in “Consequences “ is just absolutely epic it is the kind of bass line that makes you “stand up and notice” Dan Chapman has phenomenal skills. Hayden Crease is a supreme keeper of the beat and Alex Gray once again delivers a flawless vocal

Another thing that we absolutely love about “Consequences” is the collaboration with vocalist Kirstie McEwen her vocals add another dimension to the track and are matched up perfectly with the visuals.

The visual for “Consequences” show “Matt” still in a state of disarray but he is attempting to pull together as he cleans the apartment and decides to call “Rose” The vocal performance displayed by Kirstie McEwen representing “Rose” is truly epic we also see another appearance by “The Plaque Doctor “

Track Four “Messages” is a well crafted tune that artfully articulates where the story is heading with frantic well orchestrated melodies and passionate vocals.

Visually “Messages” shows “Matt “ becoming more and more disconnected with reality (hence him not responding to messages) “Matt” totally disconnected and spiraling as he is visited yet again by “The Plaque Doctor “Matt” appears to be on the way out but is saved by someone…..

Track Five – “In My Head “ proves that Palps are absolutely masters in using speed and tempo to drive home a thought or feeling in the track . We were very impressed with the melodic presentation.

The visual for “In My Head “Gives us insight as to who “Charlotte is. Who does her best to help “Matt” back on his feet by helping him get a job . He appears to be happy and content….

Track Six – “Imprint “ This song melodically has all the feels . The more we listen to this track it feels like a modern day power ballad the music and vocals really tug at your heart strings .

Visually we learn that “Charlotte “ wants make things more permanent with “Matt” unfortunately “Matt” doesn’t feel the same .

When we were chatting with Alex Gray we expressed that we personally felt bad for “Charlotte “ as she really cared for “Matt” Alex shared with us that some people have told him they are “Team Charlotte “ and others are “Team Rose” We are clearly “Team Charlotte “

Visually we see that “Matt and “Charlotte “ do not want the same things as “Matt is obviously still hung up about “Rose” we see “Charlotte “leaving and another visit from “The Plaque Doctor”……

Track 7-“Before The Black” has this very somber feeling to it . The opening guitar riffs almost sound like bells tolling to symbolize the end . Alex Gray delivers a passionate vocals performance with the words “I Can’t Die Yet “ sending a chill down our spine .

Visually “Before The Black” is tough on many levels. First because as you watch the different chapters you become invested in these characters. Secondly it’s hard because you just get the sense that something ominous is about to occur.

The final track on the album is “Dead” musically this is positively striking . It is a complete work of art . Everything about this song is just hauntingly perfect from the orchestration of the music. We’ve decided not to go into much detail with the track and the visuals for “Dead” The whole concept is such a brilliant display of art . Everyone needs to experience this stroke of genius for themselves.

So stop what ever you are doing and make time to experience “Black Heart “ in it’s entirety.

We were psyched to check out the latest single “Liar Liar ” from singer-songwriter Ceara Cavalieri

“Liar Liar ” The autobiographical song was inspired when Ceara found out her boyfriend was cheating on her in Vegas with someone she used to be good friends with. She further confides, “I had a dream the night prior that he was cheating with her, and he tried denying it for weeks. Eventually, one of his friends told me the truth with screenshots, and I wrote Liar Liar the following day. It is the worst feeling when you find out your intuition was right when dealing with something like that, especially if you think you’re “in love.” I wanted to write a fun, empowering post-breakup song that you can scream in your car and help ease the pain of being cheated on, even if it’s just for a couple of minutes.

We absolutely love the raw authentic energy on this song . Ceara Cavalieri is a welcome change in today’s musical climate. She is a honest , No B.S. artist and we can’t wait to here more. You can listen to “Liar Liar Here You can also check out the video below

Nashville based multi-instrumental , producer and singer/songwriter Rutherford Royal delivers an absolute gem in “Back Burner”

We were captive by “Back Burner” because Rutherford Royal was able infuse so many styles into one song . We heard Americana influenced guitars , dark pop hooks and tantalizing bass lines that gave “Back Burner “ an intoxicating southern goth feel.

On the single, Rutherford Royal confides, “The boy has been waiting for the girl to fall in love with him as he watches her burn through several brief, meaningless and destructive relationships. Despite clear signs that he should move on, he is determined to die on this hill. Often it feels like the right thing to do is take the side of love and wait for the one you know you’ll never get over. This can be the single most destructive decision you ever make, but half measures will only lead to a life of ‘what-ifs.”

Like catfish being caught on a steamy lake we are hooked on Rutherford Royal and his absolutely one of a kind sound .

Lucias Malcolm, frontman for acclaimed UK ska-punk band Call Me Malcolm, has released the video for “Am Hell” the lead single from his new punk solo project.

We were honored today to check out the new powerful single “Dead Girl” from New York based singer and Songwriter Xondra.

“Dead Girl” is the lead single from her upcoming EP ‘Tedious & Brief,’ due out this Fall. Led by Xondra’s stirring vocals, “Dead Girl” is an anthemic, battle cry that confronts society’s desensitization to violence against women.

The courage and strength in this song is absolutely stunning. Vocally brilliant and moving her voice left us absolutely mesmerized.

Xondra elaborates on the powerful message behind her new single: “Violence against women has, for so much of history and to this very day, been the main plot line to so many movies, shows and podcasts. ‘Dead Girl’ is about how we have become so desensitized that we don’t care about the safety of women. It’s about the fear of being a woman/AFAB person and not knowing if danger is right around the corner. It’s about never feeling safe, even around the men that you know, because all men that have hurt you have been the men closest to you. ‘Dead Girl is me screaming out for someone, anyone to hear me and validate this fear that feels so lonely at times.”

At it’s core music is a vehicle to promote expression and positive change in world . I would say mission accomplished for Xondra. This world needs more beacons of hope like Xondra.

Xondra (she/they) is the musical moniker of Alexondra O’Connell. Born to Cuban/Puerto Rican and Irish parents and raised on Long Island, New York, she found her love for music and songwriting at a young age. As a child she would sit in front of the radio for hours, writing down lyrics that struck a chord with her and creating new songs out of those lyrics. In her teens, she started to write her own songs as a means to process her growing pains and, at 18, Xondra headed to SUNY Purchase’s Music Conservatory to further hone her skills and find her sound.

Blending elements of pop, rock, R&B and indie-pop, her music explores feminist themes with heartbreakingly honest delivery. Across the six tracks that make up her upcoming EP, ‘Tedious & Brief,’ Xondra shares her experience of being a woman trying to survive in a man’s world. “I wrote this story for all of the people who have been hurt by the people who were supposed to love and keep you safe,” she says. “I wrote Tedious & Brief for all the people learning to speak up even if their voice trembles.”

This song has a driving beat that grabs you right away. Brody Bond is a beyond gifted songwriter who has the amazingly ability to craft amazing and thought provoking lyrics around any tempo. As a listener you are instantly captivated by this well written song .

Vocally Bond gives an energetic and passionate performance that adds another dimension to the song .

The single It Is Love boasts big, crunching pop-rock guitars, and vocals that have a sublime flutter in them, as if Brody is singing right on the brink of crying. Scott Oliphant is the main force behind The Color Study took a brilliant deep dive in working on the new record .While the band’s eponymous debut record was consciously mired by the sadness of a relationship lost, Future-Past-Present Tensetakes a turn for the more heady and existentially philosophical, though still in some aspect or another touching on the impact interpersonal relationships can leave. He began pondering the dynamics of these connections – how even the slightest interactions have the potential to change the course of one’s life, how they’ll live and how they may, or may not, experience love in life. That’s how the album title itself came to be, serving as a mini grammatical roadmap for how an interaction that hasn’t even come to be yet could affect who you are in the present, and how you’ll remember your past.

I Wanted Light / Between looks at this in a different way, shifting the focus from what happens to us onto what we make happen for ourselves. How, if we’ve managed to find the light in the darkness, do we exist in the in-between space if that luminance goes out? That light can come by the way of love for another person or an opportunity, but ultimately, it’s up to us to keep the flame of our candle lit. Deep, yes, though executed with an ethereal air in the way Oliphant and co. tackle it. sunsetto is back doing only what he can on his new mint of a single “On The Side” (ft Calabasas) sunsetto gives us vivid and detailed stories thru his signature meldoic flow . sunsetto tapped Los Angeles-based production duo Calabasas – who have previously penned and produced songs for Kanye West, Marc E Bassy and UnoTheActivist – to add their vibey R&B-electronica touch to the track. “Calabasas are two of my favorite artists and producers,” he says. “It was a great session, we made the song in two hours, and it’s a big vibe.”

sunsetto elaborates on the genesis of the new single: “’on the side’ is meant to be a fun one. ‘If you find somebody new, keep me on the side” is something you never hear. I was thinking about love and possession, the metaphor about picking flowers, and popular sayings like ‘cuffing or claiming.’ I don’t know if the lyric is how I really feel, or how anyone really feels, but it’s fun and light. Like the way things feel at the start of a relationship.”

Sometimes when you least expect it… the universe gives you a gift . This was exactly how we felt when we heard the absolutely brilliant new single the “Ordinary Life” from the equally brilliant and amazing Bristol (UK) based indie noir-pop artist Emily Breeze.

The track was recorded and produced at the legendary Rockfield Studios by Stew Jackson (Massive Attack), mastered by Pete Maher (Pixies, Jack White, The Rolling Stones) and features all star players Rob Norbury (lead guitar), Andy Sutor (drums), Graham Dalzell (bass) and Helen Stanley (synth). It’s a reflection on a gloriously misspent youth and a celebration of the “magic, misery, miracles and monotony that are sewn into the fabric of everyday existence”.

We find Ordinary Life “ to be chock full of honesty,blazing wit and the promise that there are still musicians out there who are at their core are artists. Emily Breeze is a magnificent artist with an amazingly unique style all her own and “Ordinary Life” is a true masterpiece.

Speaking of the inspiration for the song Emily says, “It’s a quest that involves biblical first loves and tragic one night stands, epic all nighters and the quiet desperation that follows as your dreams disperse like the fronds of a dandelion clock in the cold morning air. You blink, two decades have passed and you become the thing you always despised, a three dimensional, functional adult with reasonable expectations… Or perhaps it’s the theme song to the end of a John Hughes movie set twenty years after Prom night, except it’s not prom night, it’s Butlins and Mike Leigh is directing but Simple Minds and Souxsie Sioux are still sparkling in the spotlight, and so are you.”

We hear shades of Lou Reed and Patti Smith but eve more we hear Emily Breeze and that is music to our ears . If it were up to us we’d make her the next poet laureate.

“Beautiful Ones” is the ultimate feel-good anthem. While working with producer Brett Truitt (Betty Who, Chord Overstreet), Jeffrey challenged himself to create a quintessentially “happy” song. He aced the assignment, crafting a song that beams with positive lyricism, catchy pop hooks, slick harmonies and his signature soulful vocals.

He elaborates on the songwriting process: “It was a damn near perfect, sunny day outside and Brett has an open and bright studio. It was the perfect vibe to write about feeling confident and careless, and thriving with your friends.”

Now just in time to hold us over until the release of the E.P. “Fun Days” on September 30th we get “Feel No pain “a solid 80’s metal like song that would sound amazing in any arena . This song kicks some serious ass. Once again Bryan Rolli went back in to lab and took some massive arena quality guitar riffs , along with some perfect glass shattering screams and threw in a couple of bottles of hair spray (extra strength of course) for good measure and out came the totally awesome “Feel No Pain “You can listen to “Feel No Pain” Here

Of the track, Rolli says: “A few years ago I sang in a rock ‘n’ roll band whose guitarist fired me for a number of reasons supposedly dealing with ‘soul’ and ‘feeling,’ but which were really about me having short hair and not dressing cool enough for his liking. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but one that ultimately inspired me to launch my own project, write my own record and play every instrument myself. Looking back on it now, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Some of the best songs are not always full of cheer and such is the case with Taxes new single “Frozen Lake”singing mournfully and uncertainly about relationships in his past that he now recognizes were toxic, drawing comparisons to walking farther and farther out onto a frozen lake even though everyone warns him to stop.

We simply can’t get enough of this song. “Frozen Lake” does what all the great songs do it makes you think . It makes you reflect and relate to things going on in your own life . It is truly a work of art that needs to be heard.

Authentic,Gritty,and from the heart are words we would use to describe Philly’s Timeshares and their new album Limb which is out now on Wiretap Records.

If you love music then you will absolutely love Timeshares. They have an amazing ability to craft vivid and memorable songs that provoke thought and intrigue.

The album gets off to a blistering start with the explosive “Dead Birds”one of the things that makes Timeshares so dam good is that they don’t just pin themselves to one particular style or sound . “Dead Birds” has punk rock feel with a pinch of alt-country and boy …. It’s perfect .

On “Siren Sound” there is more of a straight ahead alt-county feel that flows beautifully along side honest reflective lyrics.

Our favorite track from “Limb “ has to be “Living Boy “ It’s such an honest and authentic song that grabs at your soul… and the vocal performance is absolutely brilliant you can feel every note just burst through the speakers .

We loved the very spirited “Town of Cats “ this one really had a Son Volt / Wilco kind of feel to it you could feel the enjoyment the band was having when they played this one .

We were really taken by the sonic and melodic presence of “Motor City ‘03“ it really show the master musicianship of the band and how strong they are as a unit .

Records get recorded all the time . But, not every record is an “important “ record . “Limb” from Timeshares in our opinion is an important record. The songs are strong vivid well crafted compositions that are relatable and speak directly to your heart soul. Do yourself a favor and let yourself get caught up in the power and beauty of “Limb” from Timeshares you will be glad you did .

We just heard the future of punk rock and it comes in the form of New York City punk band Baby Got Back Talk . This band is everything that is good about music. Great melodies and sweet hooks coupled with thought provoking lyrics Baby Got Back Talk is a band you need to know .

The band has just released it’s debut E.P. Existential Shred and by the way it freaking slays .

The opening track on the E.P “ Full Circle” is punk pop perfection . Baby Got Back Talk does a great job of crafting a sound that is very familiar but very much their own .

The next song is the sonically explosive and addictive “Season Premiere “ this song stayed with us long after we stopped listening (and that’s a good thing )

One of our favorite tracks on the E.P. Is “Don’t Go Quietly “ the song has such a strong presence the band sounds unstoppable as they power through this great track.

Seattle-based indie-folk hero Rocky Votolato has released ‘Wild Roots’— his first album in over 7 years– via Spartan Records and Thirty Something Records (Europe/UK).

“Wild Roots” is an epically moving and personal collection of songs that immediately touch your heart on so many levels .

An intimate concept album inspired by and written for his family, each song on ‘Wild Roots’ is a letter dedicated to a specific family member and focused on a special memory or moment in time

You cannot help but hang on every word of this album . From note one Rocky Votolato does a brilliant job of serving as a master painter and carefully and passionately bringing each song to life .

We were immediately taken by “23 Stitches “ it felt as we were watching a home movie on an old VHS tape.

The album was beautifully put together and the soul that lives in this album is magnificent.

‘Wild Roots’ was produced, engineered, and mixed by Votolato himself and features a stellar lineup of musicians whose contributions perfectly compliment the delicate nature of these songs — Abby Gundersen (William Fitzsimmons) on piano, string arrangements, and vocal harmonies, James McAllister (Sufjan Stevens, The National) on drums and percussion, Phil Wandscher (Whiskeytown, Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter) on electric guitar, and Marcel Gein (Perry O’Parson) on electric guitar.

The simplicity of “There Is a Light “ helps the strong and delicate message of the song shine through as painful as it may be .

“Becoming Human and Little Black Diamond “ were the first two songs that served as our introduction for Rocky Votolato Well written gems that artfully display the beauty of Rocky Votolato’s voice .

“Wild Roots” is a must listen. We said it before Rocky Votolato is a once in a generation voice and his music should be required listening for the soul.

Goldpark Two is the much-anticipated follow up to the band’s debut EP, Goldpark One, which was released in 2021 on Hazel Street Records. For Goldpark Two, the band honed in on their energetic rock sensibilities with the help of producer Jeremy Lutito (Ingrid Michaelson, Colony House, Joy Oladokun). The result is a project that feels confident, inspired and panoramic. After over a year of consistent touring, it’s clear that the trio have found their identity as a band.

In a statement about the EP, Goldpark write: “This EP is special for so many reasons. We had the right songs, the right producer (Jeremy Lutito), and the right spirit. This body of work is the best representation of who we are and where we are going. We hope this EP makes people smile.”

Quivers of Melbourne Australia release 2 new singles !!! Side A is the new original “If only” Side B is a cover of Lucinda Williams “I Just wanted To See You So Bad “ And… Announce a U.S. tour .

We simply cannot get enough Quivers they are unequivocally just plain awesome. Their sound is both captivating and familiar .

Both songs see see Bella Quinlan take lead vocals for the first time since the band’s full re-imagining of R.E.M.’s Out of Time (endorsed by the band themselves with fire emojis). Side A is a new original, ‘If Only’, and side B is a cover of Lucinda Williams’ mercurial ‘I Just Wanted To See You So Bad’.

We were taken in by the pace of “If Only “ Bella Quinlan has us hanging on every word as she slowly and passionately gives an epic vocal performance. The perfect pinch of brilliant jangled guitar and just an amazing groove. Drummer Holly says, “once we found a pocket together on this song we wanted it to be a short song that feels long and big, where the more space you leave the bigger it gets. It felt really right to sing alongside Bella, to hear her sing let romance rot all while sounding so into someone.”

The Lucinda Williams cover on side B quickens the pace and speeds time back up. Live, it kicks ass. The song was chosen for a cover according to Bella because “we all love lucinda Williams – there’s something very special about her honest lyrics and that pared-back, relaxed drawl. She’s really one of a kind! In my old Subaru Forester ‘World Without Tears’ was the only CD I had in it for the longest time, and we used to play it on our road trips to gigs. When the car died on a freeway and had to get junked for good, the CD went along with it. We chose “I Just Wanted To See You So Bad” to cover because we think it’s a hidden gem from her, and it felt so good to have a bit of a shouted call and response.”

It is a song that is certain about love. It is the rush of feelings as you drive that car in the middle of the night because you just want to see someone so bad. These two songs together show that Quivers want to drive in the middle of the night too, and after the “earnest earworms” (NPR) and “effortlessly tuneful jangle pop” (Pitchfork) of second album Golden Doubt what’s up ahead for the band might really surprise you. Grief and loss are hopefully in the rear mirror, and all kinds of other monsters real and imagined are up ahead. Bats everywhere. Tape loops in the sky

Once we heard “Win The Game “ we suddenly realized we were listening to an absolutely special collection of flawless musical masterpieces . A symphonic cinematic opening that immediately grabs your attention followed by absolutely stunning vocal performance that is nothing short of magical .

We didn’t think it was possible as we are huge fans of the single “Boys Will Be Boys “ but we think the ever eloquent and passionate (Heartbreak Version ) may be even more exquisite.

We recently checked out the new album from San Francisco Bay Area R&B/Soul collective THA BUILDING -OUTSIDE OURSELVES

In the tradition of a loose collective of gnat’s-ass tight musicians performing fine-crafted songs comes Tha Building. What differentiates this groove monster from its forefathers is that Tha Building is a self-contained band with its own body of booty-shaking songs, and it will break out of the studio to hit the stage. Tha Building was erected by primary songwriter, producer, executive producer, and multi-instrumentalist J. Brewster. Joining Brewster in his funk-soul quest was Bay Area ace guitarist/mixer/co-producer Cam Perridge who worked tirelessly alongside Brewster during the pandemic to procure remote tracks and set up safe in-person sessions. This community of 25-plus hand-selected musicians from the Bay Area and beyond feature the sharpest pro players with firm groundings in funk, hip-hop, and soul, including two Grammy-winning instrumentalists. The powerhouse band makes its entrance with the sleekly soulful debut, Outside Ourselves

My goal with Tha Building was to write songs with originality, depth and swag,” Brewster shares. “The title ‘Outside ourselves’ is really about the idea of looking outward in an era of a ‘Me’ culture with selfies, TikTok, etc. It’s social commentary on how to change course with what has gotten us to the place where we are right now.”

Brewster grew up in Berkeley and Oakland in the 1980’s and 1990’s, soaking the Bay Area’s vast contributions to funk, rock, soul and hip hop, and beyond. And some of these contemporary prime players are in Tha Building. Notable contributors and writers include Bay Area legend rapper Lyrics Born; Brewster’s childhood buddy and bassist Uriah Duffy (Alicia Keys, Whitesnake, Christina Aguilera); producer singer and songwriter Trance Thompson; Bay Area soul royalty Naté the Soulsanger; violinist Shaina Evoniuk (Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello, Leon Bridges, Roy Ayers); Grammy-winning instrumentalist saxophonist Tony Peebles (Fred Wesley, John Lee Hooker, Karl Denson); young badass drummer James “StickNasty” Small (Fantastic Negrito); and multi-instrumentalist Adam Theis (Bobby McFerrin, Roy Ayers, Jazz Mafia).

The main thing that stands out with OUTSIDE OURSELVES is the positive and uplifting message of togetherness and empowerment .

“We have a positivity-is-paramount attitude, and strive to balance celebrating and having fun with bringing awareness to issues with our emotionally-charged playing and writing,” Brewster says.

Outside Ourselves winds through an exhilarating mélange of indie-funk, new jack swing, hip-hop, social conscious jams, Motown and Stax vintage soul, R&B balladry, and pristine jazz-pop. It recalls a diverse platter of influences, including Vulfpeck, Jamiroquai, New Edition, Too $hort, Tupac, Motown, Stax, and Steely Dan. Though spanning genres and eras, the record makes a cohesive statement in the groove

The opening track “Ain’t Standing Down” Gets you in the groove from not one . Perfectly funky, you can’t help but want to dance . The orchestrated stream of incredible melodies and perfectly placed vocals makes this track the perfect opener . The production is lavished with horns, organ, chanking funk guitar, and a propulsive bassline. It feels like Earth, Wind & Fire 2022. This is a funk anthem of perseverance, and it brims with feel-good lyrics such as: I been talking to people, everyone I find myself/And nobody seems to have an answer/It’s got me shaking I keep making all these/Dumb rookie mistakes/But lord knows I ain’t standing down.

“Begin At The End( feat Omega Rae and Luqman Frank) is one of our favorite tracks on the record. It has the big beautiful horn sound that is simply breathtaking. The vocals are simply amazing we just couldn’t get enough of this heaven sent track .

Tha Building refreshingly explores a female’s perspective on the R&B ballad “No More Darkness.” This is a say-no-to-toxic-love slow-burn anthem, and it features a powerhouse vocal performance by Joyo Velarde. Other tunes like “TYBAH (Take Your Broke Ass Home) featuring Naté the Soulsanger” and Stop! offer sage social commentary. “TYBAH” is a driving funk-rock jam with a searing guitar solo and impassioned female vocals. “Stop!” fuses riffy funk with rugged hip-hop, and it’s a wake-up call with lyrics by singer Trance Thompson and rapper Dakini Star. Another album standout is the Motown-flavored ballad “Waiting,” sung by Rocky Ramirez which serves as a tearful goodbye to Tha Building’s talented friend and bandmate who went missing last year.

We thoroughly enjoyed this record . You can feel the love on every single track this is definitely a record that you have to check out.

We recently checked out the new Archer Monk single “Hidden Doors” . Archer Monk is the pseudonym of artist T. Wold. “Hidden Door will be part of the upcoming album Joy Ride Opus.

Wold applies a stroke of music genius that combines perfect crafted melodies and wise thought provoking lyrics .As for the upcoming album

Wold has coined the genre “tumbleweed pop” for this album to describe its vibrantly eclectic stylistic palette, which encompasses Dylan/Prine-style storyteller folk, gospel, alt-country, mid-tempo Americana, hot club-style jazz, and psychedelic folk-rock. He came up in a touring, singing family, and has previously issued three EPs and two albums. “You just keep throwing spaghetti at the walls and see what sticks. I feel like I’m finally reaching my stride as a songwriter. It’s been a joy ride writing these songs,” the Mill Valley-based artist details. Joy Ride Opus features an all-star cast of musicians, including Luke Ydstie on bass and piano (Blind Pilot), Rachel Blumberg on drums (The Decemberists, Califone) and Frank Orrall as guest vocalist on “Hey Bartender” (Poi Dog Pondering, Thievery Corporation).

Witnessed as a sonic epiphany, the album’s closer, Hidden Doors, is a song based on a simple four chord groove and filled with psychedelic imagery. Without intent, the first verse was written the day before a strong mediation session deep in the redwoods and became a prescient predictor of what was to come. The last two verses were penned the day after. “While this might sound so ‘northern California’, the birds and the trees communicated to me that deep down, we all have the tools to chisel out a bit of our own happiness.” This perception is made clear in the closing lyrics: we spend most all of our days/searching for love/hoping for praise/but all of this is just inside/so open the door and open it wide.”

We recently checked out the new single and video from Buffalo based Ska/Rocksteady The Abruptors “When I Change “ via Asian Man Records. This is the second single from The Abruptors fourth coming album, Noticeably Cheerless, out Fall 2022 .

It’s hard not to listen to Abruptors and not be in a good mood even if the subject matter is not happy in nature they , still can get you to crack a smile .

Toni LaMantia, one of the band’s lead vocalists, said about the track, “When I Change” is about looking at life from a new perspective. And, despite the new perspective, all of the noise and craziness in the world still persists.” There’s a lot to love packed into the music video directed by Chris Graue and edited by Vincent Walker.

The Abruptors are made up of Mike Geraci (lead vocals/guitar), Toni LaMantia (lead vocals, keys, saxophone), TJ Izzo (valve trombone), Alex Schultz (drums), and David “Wolfman” Delvalle (bass). Well established in the Buffalo, New York, ska scene, The Abruptors are just beginning a new era with a wealth of new music and insight into their respective crafts.

We have always been fans of New Jersey’s Hidden In Plain View so when saw that they have put out a new E.P. we couldn’t hide our excitement. The new E.P. TANTRUMS is a wondrous collection of songs that show that Hidden In Plain View are rejuvenated and better than ever .

TANTRUMS finds the band showcasing a collection of strong well crafted songs . As soon as you hear the thunderous drums in the opening track “Temper” you know that this is going to be good . Hidden In Plain View does marvelous job of delivering an explosive sound with “Temper”

The second track “Wildfire” is perhaps our favorite song on the E.P. It’s such a an addicting and catchy song and Hidden In Plain View absolutely rock their musicianship really shines on this track .

We were swept up in the hypnotic speed of Ragdoll it gave the song such a great feel . We once again found ourselves mesmerized by the performance on this track. It felt as we moved through the E.P. the band became stronger and stronger it was as if they discovered the fountain of youth .

Next was the epic “Poison Ivy” holy smokes this song is straight fire great harmonies the chorus stays with you for days just brilliant .

The final track “Tailor Made “ was a slower track but it did not disappoint. You could really shows the versatility of the band . Such a strong and powerful song. We pushed repeat on this one many times – Bravo

We think we just heard the next great thing in rock . Remember the name – Dosser- remember the song “Joy Thief”

Baltimore , MD indie rockers Dosser have crafted a sonically melodic driven masterpiece. We hear shades of 90’s favorite HUM as well as early Foo Fighters .

As much as they draw comparisons to others Dosser is refreshingly very much carving out their own explosive and memorable sound.

Commenting on “Joy Thief” Dosser’s Bret Lanahan (guitar, vocals) says: “Since I was a kid I’ve struggled greatly with crippling anxiety and depression. I didn’t understand when I was younger what either of those things were and always thought something was wrong with me or I had something bad inside me making me feel this way. I used to have this kind of weird day dream a lot that if I could just open up my chest and let whatever was inside of me that was making me feel so terrible just spill out, maybe I would feel better.It wasn’t a bloody scene or anything like that, I guess it was just the only way my younger brain could picture getting rid of bad thoughts. As I got older and had a better understanding of what mental illness looked like I was able to get help in the form of medication. The song goes back and forth with the feeling of being trapped in one of two corners that I think are pretty common in people trying to deal with or treat mental illness. Either you treat it with medication and get to a point where you feel almost nothing at all and totally empty, or just deal with it and have such intense feelings that you can hardly bare it. Finding a release is the hardest thing to do. The lyrics are fairly simple but they hold a great weight for me.”

Today Rocky Votolato shares “Becoming Human “ which will be a part of “Wild Roots “ which is his first release in 7 years and will be released September 9th via Spartan Records and Thirty Something (Europe/UK )

Rocky Votolato always gives 100 percent of himself in his music, you can hear and most definitely feel it. Of the song, Rocky explains, “What to say about Becoming Human now… It’s probably the most meaningful song I’ve ever written or will ever write in my life. I wrote it for my child Kienan who passed away in a car accident last year. I do take comfort in the fact that they were able to hear it before they died and told me how much they loved it. It’s a posthumous love letter in it’s release. It’s for the world now.”

Four Chord Music Festival has announced set times for the upcoming two-day event to be held on September 9 &10 at Wild Things Park, in Washington, PA, just a short 30 minutes outside of Pittsburgh.

For the first time since its inception, the event, presented by Four Chord Music & Drusky Entertainment, has expanded to two days and features its strongest lineup to date, including All Time Low, Bad Religion, Descendents, and Jimmy Eat World,plus additional performances from Pennywise, The Story So Far, Silverstein, Lagwagon, The Starting Line, The Maine, State Champs, and many more.

Sponsors include: Smartpunk, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Deep Eddy Vodka, Wild Basin, Dancing Gnome Brewery and Strange Candy.

The festival is also partnering with the following nonprofits: Hope For The Day, Punk Rock Saves Lives, Biggies Bullies, Pass The Bass, and will feature 5 food trucks each day.

What began in 2014 as a local punk rock festival in a 1500 capacity club, has quickly grown into a massive stadium-sized 2-day destination event, featuring some of the scene’s biggest and brightest, while keeping its independent DIY roots intact.

So for those of you who don’t know The Whole Kameese is based in Boston and , we take our music pretty seriously . So many great bands have come out of Boston. Aerosmith, The Car , The Del Fuegos , The Fools, and of course The Nervous Eaters .

Of the new single, frontman Steve Caltaldo says, “The song is a metaphor to relay the thought to every person that no matter what your lot in life may turn out to be, or the condition you find yourself in, that even the weakest of us can summon up the power of Superman to help those in distress. You don’t need a cape to fly, or shooting lasers from your eyes or the strength of 10, Kryptonic men,” as long as your heart has the capability of love and a true desire to help your fellow man, then any person can possess the strength and dependability within Superman’s Hand’s.”

Formed in the mid-70’s, the Nervous Eaters would eventually become the house band for the legendary Boston punk rock club The Rat, where they established themselves as a leading punk rock band in the Northeast, playing with a who’s who of punk and new wave luminaries, including The Police, The Ramones, The Cars, Patti Smith, Dead Boys, Iggy Pop, The Stranglers, Go-Go’s and many others.

The Cars’ Ric Ocasek produced the band’s original demos, which got the band signed to Elektra Records, and they went on to tour around the world. However, after a series of poor decisions on the part of the label, their major label debut album failed to deliver on the promise of their legendary live shows.

After dissolving the band, Nervous Eaters returned in the mid-80’s and has been revived over the years with various lineups.

The current version of the Nervous Eaters formed in 2018 and includes three other Boston rock vets, bassist Brad Hallen (of Ministry, Ric Ocasek and The Joneses), drummer David McLean (of Willie Alexander’s Boom Boom Band) and guitarist/vocalist Adam Sherman (of Private Lightning), and between them, they have recorded and/or toured with such artists as Ministry, Iggy Pop, Aimee Mann, Jane Wiedlin, Susan Tedeschi, Jimmie Vaughan, Lenny Kaye and many others.

Today, New York City post-hardcore band Quicksand release a mesmerizing new single, “Giving The Past Away” ahead of a tour with Clutch and Helmet, in support of their 2021 album ‘Distant Populations.’ A continuation of the critically acclaimed album, the track is driven by a thunderous bassline and growling guitar riff for a raw rock n’ roll swagger.

“The working title for this song was “Greatest Quicksand Song Ever” so you can imagine it was a very tough call leaving this song off Distant Populations,” the band comments. “The only reason we could agree on to leave it off was that we wanted to have some really strong material in reserve for later in the year. Ultimately the title came from the most prominent line in the song which is an embrace of the present which is very in line with our thinking with Distant Populations, we’re super proud of this one and are very psyched to share it with the world.”

Recorded at Studio 4 Recording in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, Distant Populations was produced and engineered by Will Yip (The Menzingers, Code Orange, Defeater), and mixed by Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God, Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold). The album is the follow-up to the critically lauded 2017 release Interiors. Sonically it has a punchier, more up-tempo sound than its predecessor, with its 11 songs being concise, carved sonic jewels boasting not a single wasted note. Its gripping lyricism and raw power leap out from the very first listening.

We recently checked out rising Los Angeles pop artist Skofee and her new out of this world single “Wind Up Hero”

We were immediately drawn into “Wind Up Hero “ with it’s cosmic feel and lush melody that washed over us . We are almost certain it is impossible to be in a bad mood listening to this song .

Skofee does a brilliant job of pulling many different musical styles into “Wind Up Hero” resulting in a mind bending memorable masterpiece. We can’t wait for her upcoming sophomore E.P. Joyland set for a release later in 2022 .

For the video the band remarks, With this music video we wanted to pay homage to our musical heroes The Beatles; as well as subtly remain on the theme of escapism. The idea is that instead of making a video in which the subject matter is asking for help; we’d remake the “Help!” music video as close to shot for shot as possible”

We recently listened to Canadian soul drenched pop singer/ songwriter Miranda Joan and her mesmerizing new single “Overstimulated “

The track is the first single of her upcoming album of the same name .

On the track, Joan confides, “I wrote this song when the doors to life had just reopened post-lockdown and I was, as I’m sure many of us were, ready to erupt. In what felt like a blink of an eye, everything opened up and here we were, hermited heathens, given keys to the city. The energy was intense and, having spent so much time in isolation, when things finally came back and we were able to socialize again, I was overcome with urgency. I wanted to do it all, I wanted contact, I wanted to be around people, I wanted to be seen, I wanted to feel.”

We were completely drawn in to the track as we were won over by Miranda Joan’s hypnotic and seductive vocals . Miranda Joan an incredible talent that has no limit .

We recently checked out the new full-length L.P. “Mirror Memorials from Seattle based alternative indie punk outfit The Other Each Other . “Mirror Memorials is a sonically explosive album that strikes quickly but leaves an epic impression.

The Other Each Other is the guarded mystery and epic musical accomplishment of Joe Finch who is the sole member of The Other Each Other .

Mirror Memorials opens with “Heads “ a perfect opening track that brings you right in with it’s straight ahead driving beat coupled with dead perfect vocal perfection. We were hooked instantly.

“Blank Spaces” won us over with it’s opening cadence. Then we were awash in the perfectly orchestrated noise that gave the song a sense of electrifying energy.

“Stage 1” , “Stage 2 “ and “Stage 3 “ are brilliantly written powerful musical jolts of light . The are not only musically well but are also lyrical gems .

Perhaps our favorite song on the L.P. Is “Loose Nets “ It is just such a great body of musical greatness that is full of personality and spirt .

We throughly enjoyed Mirror Memorials from start to finish . We highly recommend this epic and well crafted record .

We recently checked out “Beachy” from rising So Cal all-female rock trio The Aquadolls

The song, produced by Chris Szcezech (Goo Goo Dolls) , finds The Aquadolls dipping into their nostalgic roots, for a 60’s meets 90’s dream pop self-love song.

“Beachy” tackles the hardships of coming out of a global pandemic and quarantine. Front woman Melissa Brooks says the song, “takes the listener on a trip to the California sunshine with reverb-y guitar and saccharine vocals. While alone at home, we are left with the thoughts of missing those we are far apart from, but realize that self-love is key to making it through these hard times.”

“Beachy” serves as the lead single to the band’s upcoming “Charmed”LP. Watch for the music video to debut online soon.

The follow up to January’s self-titled album, Wine and Dine was recorded at their home studio and produced, mixed and mastered by Rhys May (Bring Me The Horizon, Don Broco, While She Sleeps). The track combines their signature anthemic rock choruses with catchy pop melodies, punchy drums, and electronic flourishes thrown in for good measure.
